Ista Isle is amused by the weaklings of Benden, but at least their heat is dry. Benden is muggy and riddled with heavy thunderstorms and downpours.

North: Late Spring | South: Late Autumn
9.9 C to 18.4 C | 13.7 C to 24.5 C

Ista is heating up swiftly, and preparing for a rough summer - hopefully nothing like the one from a couple turns before with the wildfires! The rest of Northern Pern is warming upsomewhat slower, but with no less gusto as summer begins to creep into the sky, keeping the sun awake longer, warming the ledges of the weyrs. Rainstorms are sporadic, but keep the world well watered, despite the heat of the days.

The Red Star can be seen by those who choose to see it, causing no shortage of whispers that Thread will return - and just as much dismissal from those who do not believe. After all, it's been so long, surely it is no longer a threat! Weyrleaders are, regardless, beginning to put together wings in their Weyrs, if only to keep troublesome and bored riders busy.

Month 12, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Winter -3 - 2 C | 26 - 35 F
Fort is already home to snowfalls, though early in the month they fade away when the sun rises. As the month progresses, more snow stays on the ground, ending up with several feet of snow before the month is over. The areas around homes and populations has the snow shoveled away or trodden down. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove some danger and are routinely removed.

Ista Boundaries:
Winter, 9 - 21 C | 48 - 69 F
Generally warm enough to go about without a jacket on, Ista has low humidity but high chance of rain, generally in the form of vicious afternoon thunderstorms. The storms wash away any bite of heat the day had, and leave it feeling fresh for the night. The days are short, but grow bright quickly and the afternoons seem to be particularly short when heavy thunderstorms roll in and cover the sky.

Telgar Boundaries:
Winter, -5 - 0 C | 23 - 32 F
Bitterly cold, with icy winds constantly flowing down from the mountains. Freezing rain is almost constant; the sky always a murky grey and the ground slippery with slushy refrozen ice. The days are extremely short, with the nights dropping a good number below the daily average. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove a major danger, and are checked upon every day, with anything bigger than a fist being removed.

Month 07, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Summer 27 - 38 C | 80 - 100 F
Light breezes down from the mountains tot he North keep the temperature comfortable, even when the sun can bake an egg on the edge of a weyr. Sunburn is common.

Ista Boundaries:
Summer, 34 - 43 C | 93 - 110 F
A very dry, dusty heat. Little to no rain, causing more than some to worry about the drought not breaking and the rest of the Isle being at risk of fires. Many seek the depths of weyr, hold or hall during the midday and early afternoon heat.

Telgar Boundaries:
Summer, 26 - 35 C | 79 - 95 F
Muggy, sticky and generally just plain humid. Thunder storms are regular occurances, often happening in the early afternoon or evening, with heavy rainfall before drying off sometime in the night. Mornings are usually crisp, but warm up swiftly.

Month 04, 740 AL
North: Early Spring | South: Early Autumn
−1.9 C to 4.7 C | 20.0 C to 29.0

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself naturally warmer, (~10C / 50) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.

Katila is beginning to cool down to more reasonable temperature, but is no less muggy and uncomfortable to those who are not used to the seasons. It is still a good place to escape to when seeking a warm day or a nice swim at the lake, though.

Winter has come slowly to the Northern lands of Pern, with more rain and cold winds than snow. As the month progresses, more and more snow will fall, with frequent blizzard-like storms towards the very end of the month. Telgar and Fort will in particular become burried under mountains of snow, while Ista is sunjected to frequent icy rainstorms, and heavy winds coming in from across the ocean.

Following the disastrous fires (sometime in around the 28th of Month 08), Ista Isle has found itself suddenly in the midst of constant rain; not enough to flood, but a steady, dreary downfall that seems to only take a time out for a couple of hours here and there, before coming back again. Its cast the entire sooty Isle into a sombre and depressed mood. Alongside the rain, the weather is muggy and while not hot, is not particularly cool, either.

The rest of Northern Pern is getting their usual weather, though they, too, have been called to action following the wildfires that savaged Ista. Many individuals who called Ista Island home have been relocated not just to Ista Weyr, Ista Hold or Sea Cliff Hold, but also to other areas of Pern, whether with family or friends.

North: Late Summer | South: Late Winter
17.4 to 25.5 C | 10.8 C to 23.2 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm - 37 to 45 C - has resulted in an incredibly dry summer, with little to no rain. This was climaxed by a dry thunderstorm, the results of which caused three fires to start across the Island on the 24.07.739 in the early morning hours. While the results of this are yet to be played out, the events will no doubt leave more than just the scarring of the land.

18.0 to 26.6 C | 10.2 C to 21.9 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm, with average weather being in the 37 to 45 C range, making it now a more than slightly undesirable escape for the rest of the Northern population from the more enjoyable early summer weather. There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind. Ista's limited farmlands and fields are dry and dusty, with golden straw instead of grass where there is any growth at all.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are still getting a lot of evening rain and the occasional thunderstorms, which cools down the populus and allows them to sleep easily without sweating their brains out like the Istans.

Month 11, 738 AL
North: Late Autumn | South: Late Spring

Autumn is coming to an end, with the days slowly becoming shorter still, with early nights and late mornings. The temperature is getting very cool, with jackets being more required, but it has yet to actually snow. Despite this, it is often raining and miserable.

The Southern contient is in full bloom, with flowers coming to life in the grasses and on the trees. The skies are bright blue with fluffy clouds, and occassional sunshowers bringing a dampness to the day. The nights are still crisp, but not cold. The ground is starting to dry up as water is absorbed by the blooming flora.

Month 10, 738 AL
North: Mid Autumn | South: Mid Spring

Autumn is in full tilt, with the leaves a shocking array of orange and red, and more of them on the ground than on the trees. The skies are often a clear and crisp blue, with a cool breeze flowing, shifting the leaves and sending them scattering. Rain is not common, but when it does roll in the skies are dark like night come early, and thunderstorms are not uncommon, though they don't last for long and the amount of rain that falls isn't too heavy.

Month 09, 738 AL
North: Start Autumn | South: Start Spring

Nothern regions are entering into Autumn, with the trees beginning to change to their reds and oranges, while the air is beginning to feel more crips. There are still more warm days than cool, and the nights are mostly warm enough for light bedding still. Rain has faded away and most days are clear and bright.

The Southern contient finds itself heading into spring, with rain and flowers vying for attention. The ground is often muddy and squishy, while the skies are either bright and blue, or overcast wtih fluffy clouds.

Month 08, 738 AL
North: End Summer | South: End Winter

Summer is winding to an end in the Northern hemisphere, with the weather slowly cooling and the trees beginning to turn their leaves. The days are still long and bright, but the sun is beginning to lose some of its strength.

The coastal Weyrs are falling victim to coastal storms, strong winds and heavy rains with thunder and lightening.

The more inbound Weyrs and Holds find themselves drier, not getting nearly as much rain or storms, they find themselves on the end of a long drought.

Month 07, 738 AL
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter

Summer is in full spring in the Nothern hemisphere, with the bulk of each day being unbearbly hot, followed by vicious thunderstorms and heavy humidity in the evenings and at night.

The coastal areas are experiencing monsoon like weather, and spend a lot of their time locked away in Hold, Hall or Weyr.

The more inner locations find themselves faced with more dry heat during the day, and horrible humidity in the evening and at night while the thunderstorms rage.

Build:
Lean, fit
General Description:
Large blue bordering on grey eyes that can leave him looking bewildered at times. Other times, he can almost pull off his father’s charm with soft expressions.

Light blonde locks that are styled slightly on the messy side. They are also too long to be called short but too short to be anything else.

Telrynd has his father’s jawline and facial structure which makes for an uncanny similarity that most people can’t overlook. The only difference that is strongly noticeable between the two men is Telrynd’s full plush lips which he gets from his mother. It’s due to those lips and wide bright eyes that Telrynd can pull off dramatic expressions ranging from extremely pouty to large smiles that fully reflect his mood since he hasn’t mastered acting otherwise.

His skin is a light even tan thanks to his time being divided with chores and playing outdoors and classes and quiet time spent inside. Muscle on a thin yet sturdy frame that comes from his father.
General Dressing Style:
While he prefers casual and comfortable so he's not hindered in anything he does, Telrynd also has a decent eye for finer and more Holder-appropriate clothing. He cleans up nicely and presents himself well as a son of a former lordling. In recent times, thanks to Cazan, very tight leather pants have found their way into his wardrobe and he's quite fond of them.

Personality
Likes:
Puzzles: Both the pictures that need to be assembled and word puzzles. He likes the challenge behind each.

Swimming: Possibly one of his favourite pastimes though it usually results in splashing around in the river due to lack of rides to the lake.

Watching Wing Practice: One day he’ll be in one so why not learn strategies early?
Strengths:
Level-headed: Even when he listens to his heart and does something impulsively, Telrynd manages to find his stride again and works through issues he’s faced with

Passionate: Too young to put it into a romantic relationship, but if Telrynd likes something, he puts all of his dedication and attention into it, showing a real zest for it.

Amiable: Telrynd isn’t always outgoing but he’s rather friendly and finds it easy to get along with most everyone. Growing up in the crèche has helped him in learning to adapt to each type of person and various age groups.
Dislikes:
Keeping Secrets: His entire existence was a secret into his early teens as he wasn't allowed to tell his father he existed. Everyone should be open with each other all the time.

Sweets: Special occasions will see him eat a small piece but generally Telrynd prefers fruits and vegetables as snacks.

Judgemental People: Everyone does it, even he can do it at times, but Telrynd hates people that automatically judge and assume something about someone based on the colour of dragon they bonded to or if they have all limbs intact.
Flaws:
Self-doubt: When it shows up, it can hit Telrynd hard and he ends up questioning what he’s doing and if it’s right or if he’s the best choice.

Perfectionist: Telrynd holds himself to high standards and while he’s not a poor sport or sore loser, he doesn’t think second best is good enough. He wants to be the best at what he does and will train over and over and learn all he can to ensure he’s perfect in something.

Rule-abiding: Telrynd still knows how to have fun and might be tempted into misbehaving by the right person for the right reason but he was raised to follow and respect rules and procedures.
Habits & Mannerisms:
He’s actually rather easy to make blush and shuffles from foot to foot when nervous or feeling especially awkward.
General Personality:
Telrynd knows when to be quiet and behave but also knows when and how to have fun. He’s typically rather mellow but when something he really likes or enjoys is happening, he can be a normal boy laughing and joking with the best of them.

Due to knowing who his father is, despite R’nd not knowing about him, Telrynd often feels like he has a reputation to live up to and will sometimes try his hand at being as charming as the bluerider or flirting with pretty girls. Given his young age, he’s not entirely into the idea of dating and everything that comes with it just yet but he figures practice makes perfect. Once his father knows and the Weyr has confirmation of what they always suspected, Telrynd will feel a new level of pressure as he tries to be the perfect son to the man he has always wanted to know and views as a role model. Still more into being a dragonrider than a lover, Telrynd flails and often fails at relationships as he tries to discover his own identity.

When left to his own devices and not worrying about expectations, Telrynd is a clever boy that likes working out puzzles and strategies. If there is any pressure on him to solve the issue, he doesn’t notice but instead finds it an almost soothing task. There’s a sense of purpose that takes over as he works on them and pride when everything is solved.

Important History:
722 & Born: Telrynd is born without any real fanfare to Telerii, coming at the end of the baby boom brought on by the reunion of the dragonriders.

727 & 5: His mom takes him to the first Katilan Hatching. He’s too young to remember much in later life but he does remember his mom’s joy and pride when Orwind Impresses blue Ayyonth.

729 & 07: Takes a tumble off a slippery rock at the lake, cutting his leg open. He heals without issue but has a small jagged scar to remind him to always watch his step.

731 & 09: Becomes friends with Indamor. Suspects it’s because of their fathers’ relationship but humours the other kid. Actually starts to like Indamor as a real friend soon into their new alliance.

733 & 11: Begins the countdown to his twelfth birthday so he can Stand. He’s too young to understand most of the political drama stirring up but knows Candidates are needed and he wants to prove himself worthy to a dragon, the Weyr, and especially his father.

734 & 12: Finally old enough to start Standing! Impresses a bronze at his first Hatching, becoming T’ryn, and is rewarded with the landslide that nearly kills him and Syrendryth.

735 & 13: Still living in Katila based on his weyrling status, T’ryn keeps focused on becoming a dragonrider and learning how to be a son to R’nd now that he told the bluerider the truth.

736 & 14: With the new Weyrs open, T'ryn is given the option to go to Telgar where his father is but N'mor convinces him that'd it be a lot more fun without their fathers' watchful eyes always on them. In the end, the pair go to Ista.

738 & 16: Doing his best to socialize with goldriders while he figures out more who he is, who he likes, and studying how wingleaders operate.

741 & 19: A rough year. Cazan Impresses in the Stands and T'ryn visits Fort regularly to help her adjust. Syrendryth wins Bedith's Flight for a third time in a row and the dragons surprise their riders that they are mated. T'ryn eventually moves to Telgar for the dragons to be together. Soon after that, he discovers Casa is his half-sister and he's left reeling with the fact they've been having sex for over a year. Cazan and T'ryn finally put a label on their relationship just before Flights and casual sex with others start popping up.They find out Cazan is pregnant and despite there being three possibilities for fathers, T'ryn claims the child as his. On the last day of the turn, they become weyrmates.

Education
Details:
Very basic Katilan education that he has expanded on a bit in some areas since coming North.Telrynd has a basic grasp on reading and writing (though cursive is hard for him in both areas) and is good at numbers and creative thinking that is more aligned with strategy than writing a story or song. His weakest area is studying anything that he doesn't have a strong interest in. History in general doesn't do too much for him but he likes looking into past wings and learning about Thread.

Gold Okalinath x Bronze Torath at Katila Weyr on the 29.07.734 [Clutch Page] Key Word: Grumble Egg Name: But First, Coffee Egg Description: A mildy coloured egg, the softly tanned top seems to swirl into the creamy base. This egg never seems to be settled in the same way more than once, which is quite the feat indeed. Your Touching: Careful consideration was given to the mind that connected with the unhatched dragonet’s own, a serious, frowning consideration that was clearly weighing up the boy on the other side. The mind was poked at, and thoughts provoked to the forefront for further consideration… Then all at once, the dragonet within dismissed Telrynd indignantly. Be gone
Weyrlinghood
Syrendryth breaks shell and greets the world at the hatching, coloured a stunning and eye-catching molten bronze. His hide is twined with colours of hot orange, gold, deep bronze and shots of brilliant yellow shining through. This young dragon gives every impression of coming hot from the forge and charging into life. He is a magnificent hatchling to behold, and easily outshines his bronze brother’s with his demanding hide.

Unfortunately for Syrendryth, once attention has started to wander away from the gorgeous hide that covers his body, one begins to see the body that hide covers; gangly and coltish from the get-go, Syrendryth is built of long legs, gangly wings and knobby joints. How he manages to control his seemingly inelegant limbs is a curiosity that may never be answered, but grace is something this startling hatchling has in bundles, from the very moment he pokes his head free of his egg.
Syrendryth
Adulthood
In adulthood, Syrendryth is the opposite of what he was in weyrlinghood – at least physically. His beautiful, freshly minted hide falls away to reveal a colouration much more befitting of a bronze dragon; soft greeny-golds woven together with the undertones of brown-ish tan peeking through. Where once he was molten bronze of falling leaves in late autumn, Syrendryth is now the muted tones of leaves slowly changing from green to gold.

Form wise, Syrendryth got very lucky; his body filled out, widening spectacularly to chunk up into a very solid, heavy set bronze. His legs are no longer too lengthy, his wings no longer too big, and his joints no longer coltish knobs! This chunky bronze carries himself with slow, deliberate movements and careful consideration of each limb. Learning to fly took a bit of training to get his wings strong enough to lift his heavy body, but the muscle build up on his hind legs as a result only intensifies the impression that Syrendryth is a monster of a dragon.

In flight, this bronze is on the slower side, but he retains his massive power and careful consideration of movements. While greens will never be high on this fellow's appetite listing, especially not the smaller ones who flicker about so quickly, his sheer size and outstanding strength will eventually make him a strong contender for winning gold. In addition, should he seek such a prize, the ranking opportunities such as a Wingleader or Second will surely be available to such a strong flier when the years are under their belt.
Mindvoice
Syrendryth’s voice is silky and smooth, with just the barest hint of a sly undertone when he is feeling emotionally inclined in – well, any direction. It lingers somewhere in the register between ‘masculine’ and ‘feminine’, ultimately neither here nor there and often leaving it indeterminate what colour or gender dragon is bespeaking one if they do not know Syrendryth on a personal level. When he is so inclined to bespeak people – which is very rare – Syrendryth enjoys the fact that no one can figure out who he is.
Personality
his name is derived from 'lord of gods'. He views himself and his bonded in much that manner. He is inclined to be dismissive, self-absorbed, mightier-than-thou and is opinionated. However, he is disinclined to idle chit chat, so while he will give loftly looks, he rarely follows it up with comments to anyone bar Telrynd.

Always graceful, Syrendryth is never seen stumbling despite his gangly appearance. It comes naturally to him from the moment he stepped free of his shell but as he grew and finally hit his full size, there was a bit of extra walks and flights on his own time to assist in learning his own new dimensions. It didn’t take long, and he would have everyone believe it too came without issue, but a little polish never hurt anyone in his opinion.

His opinion is something he holds in the highest of esteem with only Telrynd’s coming anywhere close in second. They were made for each other and surpass everyone else in worthiness and quality. If he happens to make a friend whether through his own means or by way of the bond with Telrynd, Syrendryth will soften somewhat toward that human or dragon but typically is still judging them.
Quirks
Likes: Lazing in the shade is among a pastime Syrendryth likes to make time for since it helps rejuvenate energy and stamina needed for daily tasks or other preferred hobbies – like hunting. Whether it’s gracefully dodging for a herdbeast and showing off for the gold dragons spectating or playing in the lake, swooping down for a fish, Syrendryth likes the thrill of the hunt and the satisfaction of producing his own meal.

Dislikes: Syrendryth hates those that do nothing but whine. It’s not his fault they’re useless and can’t help themselves so there’s no need to share.

Habits/Mannerisms: Has a way of sitting and looking at others in such a way that it’s clear he thinks little of what he sees.

Strengths:Syrendryth is never lacking in confidence; in fact, he likely has enough for the entire Katilan population. He’s utterly loyal and supportive to Telrynd as well, finding it hard to believe any of the doubts the young man has have merit.

Weaknesses: Syrendryth is rather opinionated and Telrynd hears them regularly as the dragon finds everyone else is beneath them and deserve to be judged.
