Ista is heating up swiftly, and preparing for a rough summer - hopefully nothing like the one from a couple turns before with the wildfires! The rest of Northern Pern is warming upsomewhat slower, but with no less gusto as summer begins to creep into the sky, keeping the sun awake longer, warming the ledges of the weyrs. Rainstorms are sporadic, but keep the world well watered, despite the heat of the days.
The Red Star can be seen by those who choose to see it, causing no shortage of whispers that Thread will return - and just as much dismissal from those who do not believe. After all, it's been so long, surely it is no longer a threat! Weyrleaders are, regardless, beginning to put together wings in their Weyrs, if only to keep troublesome and bored riders busy.
Winter -3 - 2 C | 26 - 35 F
Fort is already home to snowfalls, though early in the month they fade away when the sun rises. As the month progresses, more snow stays on the ground, ending up with several feet of snow before the month is over. The areas around homes and populations has the snow shoveled away or trodden down. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove some danger and are routinely removed.
Ista Boundaries:
Winter, 9 - 21 C | 48 - 69 F
Generally warm enough to go about without a jacket on, Ista has low humidity but high chance of rain, generally in the form of vicious afternoon thunderstorms. The storms wash away any bite of heat the day had, and leave it feeling fresh for the night. The days are short, but grow bright quickly and the afternoons seem to be particularly short when heavy thunderstorms roll in and cover the sky.
Telgar Boundaries:
Winter, -5 - 0 C | 23 - 32 F
Bitterly cold, with icy winds constantly flowing down from the mountains. Freezing rain is almost constant; the sky always a murky grey and the ground slippery with slushy refrozen ice. The days are extremely short, with the nights dropping a good number below the daily average. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove a major danger, and are checked upon every day, with anything bigger than a fist being removed.
Summer 27 - 38 C | 80 - 100 F
Light breezes down from the mountains tot he North keep the temperature comfortable, even when the sun can bake an egg on the edge of a weyr. Sunburn is common.
Ista Boundaries:
Summer, 34 - 43 C | 93 - 110 F
A very dry, dusty heat. Little to no rain, causing more than some to worry about the drought not breaking and the rest of the Isle being at risk of fires. Many seek the depths of weyr, hold or hall during the midday and early afternoon heat.
Telgar Boundaries:
Summer, 26 - 35 C | 79 - 95 F
Muggy, sticky and generally just plain humid. Thunder storms are regular occurances, often happening in the early afternoon or evening, with heavy rainfall before drying off sometime in the night. Mornings are usually crisp, but warm up swiftly.

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself naturally warmer, (~10C / 50) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.
Katila is beginning to cool down to more reasonable temperature, but is no less muggy and uncomfortable to those who are not used to the seasons. It is still a good place to escape to when seeking a warm day or a nice swim at the lake, though.

Winter has come slowly to the Northern lands of Pern, with more rain and cold winds than snow. As the month progresses, more and more snow will fall, with frequent blizzard-like storms towards the very end of the month. Telgar and Fort will in particular become burried under mountains of snow, while Ista is sunjected to frequent icy rainstorms, and heavy winds coming in from across the ocean.

Following the disastrous fires (sometime in around the 28th of Month 08), Ista Isle has found itself suddenly in the midst of constant rain; not enough to flood, but a steady, dreary downfall that seems to only take a time out for a couple of hours here and there, before coming back again. Its cast the entire sooty Isle into a sombre and depressed mood. Alongside the rain, the weather is muggy and while not hot, is not particularly cool, either.
The rest of Northern Pern is getting their usual weather, though they, too, have been called to action following the wildfires that savaged Ista. Many individuals who called Ista Island home have been relocated not just to Ista Weyr, Ista Hold or Sea Cliff Hold, but also to other areas of Pern, whether with family or friends.

Ista is still unseasonably warm - 37 to 45 C - has resulted in an incredibly dry summer, with little to no rain. This was climaxed by a dry thunderstorm, the results of which caused three fires to start across the Island on the 24.07.739 in the early morning hours. While the results of this are yet to be played out, the events will no doubt leave more than just the scarring of the land.

Ista is still unseasonably warm, with average weather being in the 37 to 45 C range, making it now a more than slightly undesirable escape for the rest of the Northern population from the more enjoyable early summer weather. There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind. Ista's limited farmlands and fields are dry and dusty, with golden straw instead of grass where there is any growth at all.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are still getting a lot of evening rain and the occasional thunderstorms, which cools down the populus and allows them to sleep easily without sweating their brains out like the Istans.

North: Late Autumn | South: Late Spring
Autumn is coming to an end, with the days slowly becoming shorter still, with early nights and late mornings. The temperature is getting very cool, with jackets being more required, but it has yet to actually snow. Despite this, it is often raining and miserable.
The Southern contient is in full bloom, with flowers coming to life in the grasses and on the trees. The skies are bright blue with fluffy clouds, and occassional sunshowers bringing a dampness to the day. The nights are still crisp, but not cold. The ground is starting to dry up as water is absorbed by the blooming flora.
North: Mid Autumn | South: Mid Spring
Autumn is in full tilt, with the leaves a shocking array of orange and red, and more of them on the ground than on the trees. The skies are often a clear and crisp blue, with a cool breeze flowing, shifting the leaves and sending them scattering. Rain is not common, but when it does roll in the skies are dark like night come early, and thunderstorms are not uncommon, though they don't last for long and the amount of rain that falls isn't too heavy.

North: Start Autumn | South: Start Spring
Nothern regions are entering into Autumn, with the trees beginning to change to their reds and oranges, while the air is beginning to feel more crips. There are still more warm days than cool, and the nights are mostly warm enough for light bedding still. Rain has faded away and most days are clear and bright.
The Southern contient finds itself heading into spring, with rain and flowers vying for attention. The ground is often muddy and squishy, while the skies are either bright and blue, or overcast wtih fluffy clouds.
North: End Summer | South: End Winter
Summer is winding to an end in the Northern hemisphere, with the weather slowly cooling and the trees beginning to turn their leaves. The days are still long and bright, but the sun is beginning to lose some of its strength.
The coastal Weyrs are falling victim to coastal storms, strong winds and heavy rains with thunder and lightening.
The more inbound Weyrs and Holds find themselves drier, not getting nearly as much rain or storms, they find themselves on the end of a long drought.
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter
Summer is in full spring in the Nothern hemisphere, with the bulk of each day being unbearbly hot, followed by vicious thunderstorms and heavy humidity in the evenings and at night.
The coastal areas are experiencing monsoon like weather, and spend a lot of their time locked away in Hold, Hall or Weyr.
The more inner locations find themselves faced with more dry heat during the day, and horrible humidity in the evening and at night while the thunderstorms rage.

This month’s riveting event is ‘Seas of Fun’, in honour of International Pirate’s Day! After all the drama with the fires, we expect that taking to the sea (or lake, river, pond, etc) would be a very relaxing way to spend some downtime for many dragonriders and Holderfolk alike!
In preparation for October, the even is “Memories of the Past”, which we hope will be a fun way to explore your character’s past, either in solo posts or threads, as inner monolog or as back posting! How you choose to partake is entirely up to you!
October will also see our next PC HATCHING! In order to have your Candidate qualify for Impression, they must have no less than 20 posts! There are lots of characters floating around who would be more than happy to help your Candidate breech that count! Don’t forget to also UPDATE YOUR APPLICATIONS where applicable, or make sure it is submitted at all! We can’t Impress your character if we don’t know what they should be getting!
As always, be sure to submit your threads to the IC RP Timeline submission thread, so they can be added to the list! While you’re at it, remember to submit your favourite quotes – from your character’s or others! – to the Quote Submission Thread! We want to see some recent quotes thrown in with our old ones!
If you haven't already, please drop by the Dragonrider Weyr Allocations thread, and let us know where your dragonriders call home. We are hoping to set up Wings across the three PC Weyrs over the next month or so, and your assistance is much appreciated! As a result, we will be looking for Wingleaders, Wingseconds, and of course Candidates for the clutches we have scheduled for this year!
Okay. So moving on! This month sees us (hopefully) wrapping up the Camp Kink event! Who doesn’t love an abundance of young adults exploring their sexuality without restraint? Its been a hell of a fun ride (haha get it?) so far! Can’t wait to see what the grapevine makes of it when words gets out … haha!
On a more serious note, this month will see us engaging in the Istan Wildfires! This event is a free for all! Feel free to have your characters interact with the event in any way you feel is suitable! There is a lot of room here for personal dramas, trouble making, hero worshiping, etcetera! We really want to see how characters interact with, and dictate, the outcome of the event!
Those of you who are intersted, please take part in a discussion about the Plot for opening up the Healer Hall! You can find it [here].

This month also saw Gold Bedith of Mulrissa take to the skies! She was won by young Syrendryth of T'ryn! Congrats, and may your Hatching be less dramatic than the last one! The Hatching will take place in October so you have a lot of time to get Candidates created, approved, and posting up a storm!

With the end of December, our Christmas layout has gone back into hiding! You'll be able to use it again at the end of the year, when Christmas again rolls around. You can expect a new layout for the site in the near future.
We will also be awarding the HORRIFYING MOMENTS stamps to those who qualified for them, as well as the WORDS OF THE MONTH for November. We hope you enjoyed these Events, and you can expect more of them in the upcoming year!
This month we will also be focusing on the RP Records, and request you submit all your threads here so we can update the Timeline! As it says in the thread, the Timeline will be updated every month, in the first week. To help us maintain, be sure to submit your threads as soon as you open them!
This month we are doing a 'Words of the Month' event! You can choose your word/s as indicated in the thread, and may particpate with as many characters as you desire! This contest has no voting to earn stamps; you get a stamp just for participating! Enjoy!
Our next PC Clutch will be in the new year, so now is the pefect time to join with old candidates (how many clutches have they stood for now?!) and candidate hopefuls! Get those eager young men and women out there and grow them so we can match them with their perfect lifemate when the new year rolls around and one of our lovely golds throws a clutch on the Sands -- At this point in time, the Weyrs are sharing Candidates, so your Candidate can be Searched by any Weyr, and transfer to the one holding the PC clutch!
History is almost complete, and the profile has been re-coded. All new characters will need to go onto the new profile, but all old can keep their current! We'll begin advertising properly over the next couple of weeks, once the history has been completed, and probably after the weekend of the 8th and 9th, because that is when ThistleProse is having her birthday.
We officially have two layouts! You can post here with any issues you find, or request any changes!
If you find any bugs or issues, plese repot them here, and we will do our best to fix them in a timely manner.

It’s hard to pinpoint the colour as it depends on how much sun it has seen at any given time. It ranges from a very pale and bland brown to what some have compared the dirty blonde moments to be that of straw. As for the style itself, C’dhin tries to keep it trimmed, especially thanks to being in the kitchen often, but it’s usually left in a slightly shaggy state.
C’dhin comes from a heritage that leaves him suffering with extremely pale skin. He burns easily when he’s not careful while having to spend too much time in the sun but thankfully any burning fades into a tan after a few painfully itchy days. His build is slender with only the barest touch of muscle that comes both from tending a dragon and kitchen work. He has good arm strength from carrying heavy ingredients to stirring large pots and bowls of the latest concoction.
One of the most notable feature to C’dhin is the small mole under his left eye. He used to hate it when younger and would purposely splash flour on his face to try to hide it but as he’s grown older, C’dhin has come to like it and see it as a mark of individuality and a part of who he is. He also has a large mouth that he sometimes finds annoying since it leads to teasing given the way he never seems to stop talking. But a large mouth also lends to a large smile which is what he is often seen sporting.

Appreciation: Like any normal person, C’dhin enjoys being praised for something he has done. It leaves him encouraged to continue on that path. He also likes to take some time to appreciate what’s around him whether it be the landscape, a game in progress, or people enjoying their free time.
Chatting About Nothing: There’s always something to talk about even if it seems mundane. Discussing random things still stimulates the mind.
Cheerful: He might be accused of seeing the world through rose-tinted glasses but C’dhin likes it and sees the good in most anything.
Patient: It takes patience to make the perfect cake and master a tricky recipe and that has carried over into everyday life for C’dhin.
Silence: Silence may be comfortable to some but it leaves C’dhin wondering what everyone else is thinking.
Laziness: There’s always a time to rest and even sleep in but C’dhin hates seeing someone slack off when they’re meant to be working. Nothing gets done that way.
Disrespect: Elders and leaders always deserve proper respect and it drives the man bonkers when he sees it not being given. In fact, everyone deserves it but his new role as a greenrider has shown him how wrong his beliefs have always been and many people disagree with him.
Opinionated: While he has an opinion on most everything, it’s cooking that he criticizes the most. It’s likely the only thing he’ll say something negative about.
Defensive: He’s not one to fight verbally or physically but when it comes down to his kitchen and what he has made, C’dhin is very defensive and will demand to know why such negativity is given and to prove themselves better.
His laidback vibe makes him extremely approachable for all manners of things and C’dhin will often go along with it all as well even if it seems like a bad idea at the time. He’s easily convinced especially with the right words of flattery and now that he’s bonded to a green dragon, C’dhin finds himself in much more interesting positions than he once did. Even then, he doesn’t entirely mind so long as he doesn’t come away hurt and the other people involved in the mischief are happy. While he’s not necessarily a people-pleaser, C’dhin still hates being the cause of anger. Besides, his time in the kitchen back in the North made it clear he ranked low on the chain of power within a Hold and nearly a decade in a Weyr has taught him the placement of each dragon colour as well. He has more or less accepted the role just as he accepted being a father. Everything can be learned from after all and while he doesn’t exactly like constantly learning if it involves studying, life lessons aren’t too bad.
There are only a few things that could ever set C’dhin into defensive mode but he’s still quick to recover from the insult. His baking is all that he is. He knows it’s rather one dimensional of him but it was all he knew since childhood and it’s something he’s good at, enjoys, and even finds relaxing. To have someone insult the taste or a method he prefers never sits well. He gets all up in arms and will even demand they do it better if they think they can. As with everything else in life, he’s still discovering what else might set him off. So far, he knows anyone picking on Coroth or even his daughter that he spends rare times with count among the reasons his personality shifts from pleasant to defensive with death glares.

Rank: Sr. Journeyman Baker
Mother: Corrazine b.689 AL d.???
Rank: Kitchen Drudge
(Maybe one kid with Annbaline, his fiancée before being Stolen. Born 727, if so)
715 & 7: Too young to truly understand what was happening with the dragons, Corraidhin believes they’ll feel better once they have some medicine and rest like what his mom tells him when he’s sick. His heart breaks a little when he hears they all vanished.
716 & 8: Corraidhin helps his mom with the late night cleaning of the Hold’s kitchen regularly and she quietly tells him stories of how she met his father and some cooking tricks she’s picked up.
718 & 10: He starts to sneak into the kitchen to assist his dad with simple tasks like fetching ingredients after falling in love with the idea that baking is fun.
720 & 12: After months of convincing his father and the other chefs, Corraidhin is officially accepted as an Apprentice in the bakercraft.
723 & 15: Ends up with his first black eye thanks to another boy catching Corraidhin kissing his sister. Corraidhin learns to be more discreet about who he is kissing and to ask if they have older brothers.
726 & 18: Three months after his 18th birthday, Corraidhin is tapped and made a Jr. Journeyman Baker.
727 & 19: Corraidhin is Stolen after a night out drinking and celebrating one turn as a Journeyman. It was also the night after he successfully proposed to Annbaline, the cute kitchen worker he had been casually dating for the last turn.
728 & 20: A wild night that involved alcohol and a woman nine months earlier leaves him a father. He’s unsure what to make of it, having no training in that area and having left behind a woman he may have also impregnated before being Stolen. Eventually he accepts the little girl and makes regular trips to visit her, hands full of treats once she’s old enough for them.
731 & 22: Corraidhin is appalled at the lashing B’jin receives and wonders what anyone could do to deserve such treatment.
731 & 22: Two months before his 23rd birthday, Corraidhin tries his luck again and finds himself bonding to an adorable little green dragonet, Coroth.
732 & 23: His clutchmate Iruvia and her dragon don’t return from their attempt at going between in class. Even his upbeat nature couldn’t handle such a trauma and Corraidhin hides in his room for two days, realizing the thin balance of life and death and the dangers all around them.
733 & 24: Somehow, he survives weyrlinghood and is given the name C’dhin at his graduation; the last class to do so as Weyrleader S’kef changed the rules of honorifics that night. It takes a while but he adjusts to the new name.
733 & 25: With the turn rapidly coming to a close, Coroth finally takes to the sky for her virgin flight, making for a very confused C’dhin. Everyone assumed she would never rise and he’s left floundering in bed with a particularly rough bluerider.
734 & 26: After nearly dying in the landslide, C’dhin did his best to help others struck by it and dedicated more time to making little treats for those stuck in bed healing. His dragon also started to develop a flight pattern that is far too regular for his liking and now he has to deal with that while moving back to the North.
735 & 27: C'dhin is still adjusting to Coroth's flight pattern and finding his way through the new life in the North. He makes a few friends on trips into the Hold but otherwise he stays out of the way and tries to stay out of trouble.
736 & 28: When Fort and Ista are deemed fit enough to open, C'dhin is left with mixed emotions when he learns he's to stay at Telgar. While it's nice to not have to move and find his way yet again in a new Weyr, it's disappointing that he doesn't get to explore the new areas.
738 & 30: His little girl turns ten! C'dhin is still blown away that he's a father and doing a bit better at being in her life more regularly.
740 & 32: After stupidly confessing that he hoped Misharan would Impress a male dragon and hoped the dragon and Coroth would end up mates, Misharan Impressed to one of the barely alive dragons at Ista's Hatching. He felt a bit guilty but C'dhin was still happy for his friend and cheered the loudest. He's also taken it upon himself to constantly spoil the three weyrlings with baked goods that he brings by weekly.

While she may rest in what was the larger than average length range at her time of maturity, Coroth appears quite odd looking. She is heavily muscled in her upper legs, with her lower legs and feet being quite thin and dainty. Her wing bones seem to reflect this as well, with the arm section of the bone being quite thick and bulky and the fingers being extraordinarily slim. She has a broad head that seems quite chunky, much like a draft horse.
Likes:
Fire: She finds it rather pretty and enthralling with the way it can catch anyone’s attention and hold their gaze. She will often be caught staring into a flame. It’s a good thing as well since she also likes the warmth.
Warmth: It’s comforting and she feels safe when warm.
New Things: Her inquisitive nature keeps her looking for something new all the time and she loves when she finds it.
Dislikes:
Cold: There’s nothing at all pleasant about being cold! Shivering and teeth chattering are not things she likes to see, hear, or feel.
Rain: While she enjoys a good bath or swim in the lake, Coroth dislikes rain. It often leads to her feeling cold and it makes everyone crankier and there is less to do during that time.
Routine: Everything being set in the same routine day in and day out is boring. There’s no mystery to it and it’s hard to find something new when you know all about it already.
Strengths:
Moderation: Despite her need to know everything, Coroth knows when to back off and leave well enough alone.
Flaws:
Irritated Easily: She can be easily irritated, especially if she’s not getting the results she expected.
Fickle: Coroth also has a tendency to move on quickly, her attention span drifting before everyone else’s.
