Xendrin waded into the Weyr's lake and dove underwater when it was deep enough to do so. He swam with lazy breast strokes to push himself further away from the shore and the crowd that had also deemed it a good time of day to swim. He was a social creature that usually thrived in a group and shriveled when left alone and idle for too long, but at that moment, he just wanted to swim and enjoy the water. Mostly, he was sulking and trying to get out of that funk.
He had tried to tag along with Lazerat's group that was heading down to the river for an incoming supply boat but had been denied. It sometimes worked and sometimes he could even convince a dragonrider or two that were deemed 'responsible' to take a few of his friends down to the river to splash around or explore the area. He should have made Zoremet ask or even Zelana. Lazerat didn't really seem capable of denying either of those two anything and then Lazerat could have convinced the higher ups he needed them. Too late now and Xendrin was already moving past the desire to roam the area.
The water was calming and just right for what he needed to scratch the itch for being active after all. He surfaced with a gasp for air thanks to pushing his lungs to their very limit until the burn started. Limits were meant to be tested and after a few gulps of air, Xendrin leaned back to float and grin up at the sky and the sun that was getting hotter with each moment. He loved the heat and was still in the part of the day he found comfortable, but eventually he would move inside and possibly nap as it was his free day.
