743.11.06 | Same Old Brand New You - H'riru - 06.Nov.22

Geith pawed half-heartedly at the ground before changing his mind and walking several steps--and then falling over onto his side. Given it wasn't the first or fiftith time the dragonet had done that, H'riru no longer panicked. He gave a curious glance up from the book he was jotting notes in to see why there were conflicting emotions of boredom and contentment but his gaze flicked back down to the page after seeing the sprawled dragon. It was just something Geith did and he stopped questioning it three weeks ago. It was kind of endearing, though, now that he wasn't worried there was something medically wrong.

"Did you want to play with one of your siblings?" H'riru asked as nonchalant as possible. No. The simple and expected reply. Geith had been deemed introverted early on and it didn't seem to matter who tried to draw him into games or even conversations--the brown usually hung out on the sideline or entertained himself. The only exception seemed to be when the kids in the creche came outside to play the same time he was frolicking around. H'riru usually hung back at those times as he felt like an outsider but he happily watched the interactions and was pleased Geith got a little more socializing done. Although, some of his classmates and their dragons thought it was odd and made comments about Geith enough that H'riru considered asking K'dar to show him how to throw a punch the next time he was at the Weyr.

H'riru set the pencil between the pages to mark his place as he closed the book and set it aside. It was a beautiful afternoon and while Geith would need to be oiled again soon, the brown had the right idea with his flopping for the moment. H'riru leaned back on his palms with his legs stretched out before him as he gave a content sigh and stared up at the blue sky. Maybe a full Geith-level flop was in order? It was a gorgeous day and the sun felt so nice...

But as he looked around to see what his classmates were up to, he spotted a reason to jump to his feet instead. "Nibbler!" H'riru called out with a large smile and equally large wave for his Moonbeam. Quiselin was as beautiful as always and although he had seen her for a few minutes here and there since Impressing, it still felt like months apart without a word--something he had too much experience in and it was time to put an end to it. Geith had lifted his head at his exclamation and now he was sitting up and watching Quiselin as she approached. This wouldn't be the first time they met but it was still odd how Geith wwouldn't share what he thought of the woman. It bothered H'riru and left him worried that his dragon wouldn't like or accept his girlfriend but maybe a little more time and interaction was needed.
