On my way out and dad stopped me to ask if I had been assigned a roommate in the candidate barracks yet. I told him no and he just wandered right back off again with Mossy following him. Whatever.
((There is a roughly scribbled map with various points marked on it.))
- 2lbs browncaps, usual spot
- 1lb strawberries - a little tart, big patch. come back in a few days
- raspberry bush, check back in a week, hopefully the birds don't wreck it
- neat little creek, will tell dad about it
I go to visit dad to share some of the berries and make sure Mossy was fed and he said he'd heard from Fetch I'd helped him learn to read. I told him I did a little bit and then said something about helping someone else learn and that I should stop piling my clothes on my roommates bed? The fuck kind of segue is that? I already told him I don't have a roommate. Even if they were going to give me one they'd give me enough notice I could clean it then.

Not sure if I want to stay in Benden or hitch a ride back home. I already sent dad a letter to let him know I haven't seen or heard anything else weird and that I'm fine. Sent one to Chir too, but I'm not sure if he's gotten good enough at reading yet. I thought about drawing a picture of what happened but that just feels wrong. I don't think they would appreciate it if when they gets out of the infirmary. I was going to try to go berry hunting with Zory too... I might head out anyway and bring some back for him and Gail and hope that the healers let them have some.
