739.05.01 | We're Not Alone - Oenthi - 01.May.18

Oenthi walked into the kitchens, partially because she was completing her morning rounds, but also because Verchaylth insisted that she go and eat breakfast. The marbled gold never ceased to amaze her; even though she had yet to fly, she already had a motherly instinct. She stifled a yawn as she walked around the kitchens, though there was not much concern for her to take notice. The goldrider snuck in without much notice by the weyrfolk or other riders. Oenthi had learned how to blend into a crowd easily enough. When she wanted to be social, she could be but it was the morning and she was very groggy.

As the goldrider rounded the tables, eventually coming to a stop at her favorite spot near a corner, she sighed and took a seat. Immediately after sitting, Oenthi was approached by a drudge inquiring about what she would like. "A klah and some meatrolls would be nice, thank you." she told the drudge, and as quickly as she came, she was off once again to bring Oenthi her plate and cup. The items were placed in front of her only moments later, with a bowl of cereal as well. Things certainly had changed for her after only a few short turns.

Still thinking about the past Oenthi?

Verchaylth inquired, only to receive a mental confirmation of her thoughts. The gold snorted in her riders's mind, irritated that she was simply shrugged off like that. Oenthi paid her gold no mind; she was simply antsy because of the morning hour as well. Anything could tick the gold off when she was groggy and getting close to her feeding time. It still amazed her how much Verchaylth could eat and rarely did anything beyond sunbathing. Oenthi mentally chuckled as she felt Vera's irritation. The tables had turned, so to speak, on the gold. Now she was the one being picked on.

When had this cozy life style begun? When she had been snatched away to Katila? When she impressed to Vera? Oenthi wasn't sure anymore. It felt like her life had always been like this. Sure, the kidnapping and life on the Southern Continent had been rough. There were memories of the landslide still with her, buried deep in her memories. The scene was horrible and the aftermath wasn't that much easier. Verchaylth wrapped her mind around Oenthi's and eased her then. Thanks dear. No, her cozy and peaceful life had started when Verchaylth came to impress her at Telgar. She had made some friends at Katila, but the emptiness filled when the young marbled gold came into her life.

Oenthi twirled the liquid beverage around several times before taking a quick sip of the pick-me-up drink. She had almost forgotten about the meatrolls and sweetroll sitting in front of her. Well, she should probably hurry up with her breakfast and get back to her morning runs. Though at the moment, the goldrider just felt like lazing around in the kitchens. Then laze around. You do have that authority to take time off as when you need it. She smiled at the words and mentally chuckled, I know dear, I just do not want to become lazy.
