EVENT: Create Adoptable NPCs! - Record Keeper - 01.Apr.18

The Great Adoptable Drive

Fill Those Ranks!
What are you doing, Thistle? Well! I thought that since we have three active Weyrs, and three open Holds we should have some Adoptable NPCs to fill them! This way your character will have someone to interact with! Adoptable NPCs are sources of relationships, gossip, and general interaction for our PC characters! Additionally, for every approved Adoptable NPC, they will get their own account made up, their profile attached to it, and all members who are interested will gain access to the Adoptable NPC account, so they can post with an ANPC any time they want!

Create Them All!
Each of you are encourage to make any kind of ANPC that strikes your fancy! You can use the following prompts to get you started!

WEYR:
Dragonriders: The only limitation is no more than 1 gold ANPC creation per Player! All but gold auto-Impressed to male candidates, as female candidates are PC Impressions only. You can also create characters that are now deceased, (it’s a bit unlikely ALL our Clutches made it to the current date!) just fill out any information you think is important, and let us adjust the Clutch Records!

Ex-Dragonriders: These folks can be Mentors, or just lonely, insane individuals that found their way back to the Weyr. Their dragon may have perished pre-Plague, during the Plague, in Katila, or since the return North! They can be of any of the five colours, and ideally, each Weyr would have a handful or so who assist with running the Weyr the way they were run Pre-Plague!
ETA; keep ex-goldriders as folks who Impressed pre-Plague. Thank you!

Adult Weyrfolk: Weyr population is pretty high, so there are a lot of non-riders running around! Such ranks include the Headwoman and Steward, Kitchen staff, Searchees, etc. Remember not all of them would have come from Katila – Some might be pre-Plague weyrfolk that came back to the Weyrs they left when the Dragonriders returned. Some might be Hold and Hallfolk who decided to leave their previous lives to live with the mythical dragons and their riders.

Weyrbrats: The offspring of the Weyr at large, weyrbrats are typically thought of as the youngsters aged 12 and under, but actually consist of all children up to age 16. These kids don’t need to have a parent on dragonback, they simply need to be a child of the Weyr – though this usually means a parent is a dragonrider! Randy bastards that they are! Most Weyrbrats are raised communally in the crèche, but it isn’t unheard of for their mothers, primarily, to keep them with her.

HOLD:
Major Holders: While Telgar and Fort have claimed Lords and Ladies, the other Holds are available! And don’t forget Minor Holdings and Cot Holdings that are within the borders of each! Feel free to create whole families, or just pieces of one! Lords, Ladies, Heirs, Spares, Headwomen, Stewards, Drudges, and everyone in between occupy the Holds!

Minor Holders: These are the folks that look to a Major Hold, such as Benden, but are a populous Hold in their own right. They’re often large and rich, but they don’t have to be! Some are surely struggling to make ends meet and pretending they aren’t! They may or may not be happy to see the return of the Dragonriders and may or may not allow Search within their walls!

Cot Holders: These are the mini-holdings that are often on the outskirts of major areas, such as Halls and larger Holds. They are run according to their own Lord and Lady, but have a small population and less income, making them more reliant on the good nature of the higher Lords around them. Again, they would have more or less everyone that a major Holding would – just to a lesser degree.

Hall Folk: Generally Journeymen ranked, but sometimes Masters, these are the individuals who have a specialised education – eg, Healer, Harper etc – and have been assigned to a Hold to educate the people who claim that Hold as their home. They may be happy to be there, or they may be pissed! Pretty much all Journeymen are men, though some women will be accepted if they fit within the site lore, and the Lore of any given Hold or Weyr – remember, a lot of ranking individuals would consider it an insult to be assigned a woman, no matter how skilled she is.

Hold Folk: These are the unranked individuals who live within any given Hold! This includes farmers, shop keepers, tavern owners, street urchins, drudges, ex-riders and anyone not otherwise claiming some type of Rank previous mentioned or of a Hall ranking.

HALL:
CraftMasters: All CraftMasters must be men, no younger than 48 but preferably over 52.

Master Crafter: All these are guys, too, excluding Mistress Tawna, the branch master of Colour-dying in the Weaver Craft. She’s currently 69 so probably looking to train up a replacement...! Craft Masters can cover any associated branch of any given Craft! They are highly specialised in a particular area, after all, and that area can be anything you deem fit!

Crafter: These are probably Crafters that have been Assigned to Hold or Weyr, as the Halls themselves aren’t actually active at the moment, but hopefully with the creation of some ANPCs, that might change in the future!

Filling In The Profile!
Don’t worry! You don’t have to fill out the whole profile! These are, after all, adoptable and NPCs! That said, if you go ahead and grab a Profile Spine and make a post with it as if you were submitting a full character, you can literally fill out any information you deem important to the ANPC, and just delete the rest of the prompts. In the event that they are adopted, the adopter will write up a new profile for them and fill in the blanks. Any development the character receives as they are played as an ANPC will be added by whomever creates said info!

- Leave the HISTORY portion, as whenever they are mentioned or posted with, this should be updated with a link to the thread in question for ease of the Adopter finding information relevant to the character!

Pets!
Feel free to give them pets! Holders can have regular pets – horses, dogs, cats, etc. Weyrfolk, including Candidates/Searched can have firelizards up to and including brown (if they want another colour, they will have to Impress it after being adopted). High ranked Holders and Master Crafters may have a Firelizard, too, up to and including brown.

Weyrs aren’t generally a good place to keep horses or such, but cats and dogs, while not common, are not impossible to house in a Weyr.

Above all, remember to keep the ANPCs rank and wealth in mind when giving them a pet, and where required, include information on how and why they obtained it!

Submit!
When you’re happy with your Adoptable, throw it in the Application Forum where it will be looked over by the Team. Once its approved, it will be stamped and you will be @Tagged. You will then need to submit for the appropriate updates!

The character’s account will be made and attached to the ANPCs account, where it can be played by anyone who logs in as the ANPC, and hopefully adopted!
