Eggs, not over easy [T'vor] - H'gra - 30.Apr.14

What with one thing and another, H'gra had never made good on his initial resolution to acquire a firelizard. Searching and the move North had taken up a lot of his time. He was overjoyed to be doing both, of course, but the tasks did sharply curtail his potential firelizard-hunting time.

Of those in the Weyr, some gold's clutches were never found, and the weyrlingmasters often had call on the rest. So if he wanted one, it meant nipping back South-ward and hoping he came across a nesting site. He'd heard they'd once ranged as far north as Ista and Igen's beaches, but it was anyone's guess if they'd reach their pre-Plague numbers again, to need the territory.

We did. Courtath boomed cheerfully. I can't see why the little cousins wouldn't do the same.

Provided they're allowed to. By and large, the holders seemed to think the little things an amusing novelty. But there were still those among the riders who believed they caused the Plague, let along the average ignorant farmer- and firelizards didn't have the advantage of size or legend.

Mind on the game, H'gra! Courtath ordered, briskly ignoring the comment the way he did when he felt it uselessly bothersome. They couldn't do anything about it, and H'gra mustn't be allowed to fuss and brood over it. We'll never find them if we don't keep our eyes open- there's a good man. The blue added as his rider sighed and obediently looked around them.

H'gra knew the area had been picked over, but harbored the theory that some queen who'd been hatched here would feel safe enough return for her own clutch now that most of the Weyr had gone. He had the afternoon to try, anyway.

T'vor worked the sand against his dragon's hide in a circular motion, scouring away the rough patch to reveal the smooth hide beneath. Estelth leaned into the scrubbing, lids half closed over his contented green eyes. "Hey mind holding yourself up a bit more." T'vor grunted, giving the Blue a mock shove. "Well maybe if you scrubbed faster I wouldn't fall asleep. He teased back, making T'vor roll his eyes in response. The banter was all in fun, born of the pairing of two equally lighthearted individuals. "Alright then go rinse off." T'vor instructed, stepping back as Estelth splashed into the lake, wading out until it was deep enough that he could duck beneath the surface. He erupted from the lake, bugling as he flopped back into the water, sending a flurry of waves to the shore.

T'vor grinned at the Blue's antics, keeping far enough back so as to escape a thorough wetting. Look there is Courtath. He noted, wading back toward the shore. T'vor turn, looking up the shore, the older man and his Blue appeared to be looking for something along the shore, maybe something that had been dropped while bathing. "Come on Es, lets go see what there up to." He said, striking out toward the pair.

"Hello H'gra! Did you loose something?" T'vor called out, a good natured grin on his face. "I thought you and Courath had moved North." He observed, leaning again Estelth who'd come up beside him. A good number of Katila's inhabitants had moved up North, leaving Katila's population rather depleted. He was looking forward to heading North with Estelth once the Blue was old enough. He was eager to go see see his family and let them know what had become of him, and to show off Estelth.
