Sunset Rising [Open Green Flight] - Ravana - 01.Apr.13

Sunset, and Ravana was settled on her porch and working with a bit of sandpaper to smooth out a worry stone as a gift for B'run.  Shanith was playing with one of Terken's canines, happy to bounce around the yard and make as much noise as she wanted.

As the sky darkened a bit, Ravana reached behind her to turn on a glow, unaware of Olemuth settling nearby, watching Shanith without his usual calm.  Waiting.  The green had been like R'ana today, off-kilter and deeply in need of physical contact.  Ravana was glad the canines were distracting her from that.  Now if only she could distract herself.  She wished she could just find B'run, but she was trying to give the poor man some time off from being surrounded by women.  This would pass.  Her odd moods always did.

Ravana focused on her rock, enjoying a moment alone.  It was a rarity of late between fussing over B'run, making sure she at least saw Berani everyday, working with Terken and helping Jisralna with her own baby and her injuries from the mauling at the hatching.  Not for the first time, she had the thought that the lot of them should just move in together and call themselves a family unit.  She dismissed it, she would never be able to earn enough to construct the hut, and she doubted the weyrleader would permit her to all but found a small hold at Katila.

Shanith stilled, uncertain suddenly.  Ravana raised her head and blinked at her.  Glowing.  Her green was glowing.  She froze, terror slamming into her, tangled up with her green's rising need.  No  Shanith looked to her, the telltale red slipping into her eyes with each passing second.  "You're early!"  She had laid plans with B'run for this, but for next week!  Not now!

Shanith moved to comfort her rider, then paused.  For a long moment, red eyes looked to Olemuth, and she creeled softly, knowing he might not catch her and apologizing for being so damn small now, while she was herself.  She took off into the air and R'ana felt it hit her that her dragon was flying now, whether she was ready or not.  Her green hopped to her roof and shrieked, then called to the weyr, Boys!  Fly with me!  With that, Shanith was into the air pulling high into the sky above R'ana's hut.

R'ana darted into her hut for the bag she kept handy with a change of clothes, first aid and sewing kit for Shanith's flights and felt Shanith take her mind before leaving her hut occurred to her.  They flew as one now, earthly concerns like R'ana's determination to protect her haven from this and her terror of this being left further behind with each powerful beat of green wings.

Re: Sunset Rising [Open Green Flight] - B'run - 01.Apr.13

While he was too big to be agile, Olemuth had a head start. He was closest. The others could try to catch her. He was here now, they had to get here before they could even consider giving chase. His eyes swirled rapidly and he threw his head back and bellowed. It seemed to him that he'd been making much more sound now than he ever had before in his life. Then he was in the air and flying after Shanith, wings blocking out the sun as he passed over the hut.

Shanith rises. I give chase.

B'run was hit with flightlust and he was hit hard. His back still ached and he staggered from the hollow in which he'd stashed himself behind the huts. He stank of smoke and as he staggered out he crushed the butt into the dirt with a boot, lifting his head and trying to orient on where he was much less where R'ana was. It didn't take long and he found her and swaggered towards her. He wanted to coat his back in numbweed and sleep for a week, but it would appear that Shanith had no such plans to let that happen. And, of course, that meant neither did Olemuth.

You'd better win...

He made his way towards R'ana as his dragon flew over Shanith, knowing full well that the much smaller green was much faster and agile than him. Size, sometimes, had it's disadvantages. "So much fer plans," B'run drawled as R'ana entered his vision. He was shaking with the combined effects of pain and lust and was thankful he'd given up shirts entirely since S'kef had laid into his back. Damn Shanith rising early! Damn the loss of plans! Damn, damn, damn!

Re: Sunset Rising [Open Green Flight] - C'vir - 05.Apr.13

C'vir had gone to dinner early, hoping to avoid the kitchen crowds and escape the kind frivolous conversation that inevitably arose out of communal settings.  He much preferred to eat quickly and return to his own hut with a mug of klah, where the only inanities he'd be subjected to were his dragon's. Pausing outside of the door to his hut, hand wrapped around a still-warm mug, the brownrider took a lengthy look at the sky. His appreciation for the sunset was secondary to his fondness for the feeling that accompanied it: the sensation of being suspended between the bright bustle of day and night's welcome repose.

He inhaled deeply, focusing on the solidity of the earth beneath his feet. Dusk, this evening, brought with it an even greater sense of unmooring than usual. The impression of being slightly outside of himself was neither entirely unpleasant nor entirely unfamiliar, yet he struggled to put a word to it. Whatever it was, hee was certain it would pass.

He took a sip of klah and once final glance at the fading sky before pulling the door open and stepping in his hut. Don't get too comfortable, Besulth murmured silkily.
Why? The rider made the few steps necessary to reach a table and carefully set his mug down, body suddenly heavy with realization. Shit. You're serious about this?
I am. It's been too long. For both of us.
C'vir's hands curled into loose fists -- his body's standard, but generally nonagressive, response to stress -- as the first wave of desire snaked through him with a shudder. Who? It wasn't a gold -- that much was certain. He steeled himself for the response; though he'd repeatedly asked Besulth not to enter flights involving male greenriders, he was occasionally disregarded when the brown's impulsiveness got the best of him.
Shanith.
R'ana's -- Ravana's -- green. A female greender was a relief to C'vir, though not always the lesser of two evils. There were reasons he opposed women on fighting dragons, and flightlust was one of them. The brownrider was exceedingly mindful of how messy things could get, and though he wasn't the type to turn flightlust into an outlet for abuse, bumps and bruises could rarely be avoided. Women merited more delicate treatment, something they rarely received at the hands of their flight's victor.

C'vir's thoughts and reluctance faded rapidly as Besulth took flight, his body and its urges asserting their dominance. He found his way to the appropriate hut, relinquishing the last of his own emotions -- now there was only the pursuit.

Re: Sunset Rising [Open Green Flight] - Ravana - 11.Apr.13

Shanith danced with the air, teasing Olemuth, flying higher and higher.  She felt the brush of another dragon against her mind.  Another pursuer!  She brushed his mind with welcome and challegne.  Any other day he could outfly her, bt today?  Today she was Shanith and noone could outfly, outplay or catch her unles she willed it!

Far below her rider trembled with fear and lust, instinctively stepping back from the men.  Her legs moved funny...it caused her to trip into C'vir, Shanith nearly colliding with the brown when she dipped to tease him.  The green got her body back under control, brushing a wing along Olemuth's shoulder, the action copied by R'ana with B'run, and felt her breath growing short.

Defiance.  It was too soon and she would not be denied this flight!  Shrieking defiance of her own body, Shanith angled her flight higher and higher, the long little green chasing the flaming pink, gold and orange clouds.  They would fly high and far this day and while Shanith wished she could love both, she knew she could only have on, this day.

She wasn't going to be caught yet though!  Her breath tore at her lungs, producing another futile, defiant shriek of denial, and Shanith pushed herself harder, higher and faster, trying to show off for the boys behind her.  Only when her breaths were too hard to draw for her to manage to breathe without hugging a bit did she let herself fall, trusting and knowing one of the two would catch her.

I put it into random.org and Olemuth wins.  Thank you for posting, Katy and I would love to work out a thread with you another time!
