Weyrleader Poisoned! ALL MEMBERS MUST READ - Record Keeper - 03.Dec.12
Early morning on the 16th of month 11, a notice appears on bulletin boards across the Weyr. The letter, signed by Tsuen but not drafted in her handwriting, gives a grim account of the previous evening's events.
"Attention, citizens of Katila:
On the evening of the 15th day of Month 11, Weyrleader D'ren fell suddenly and inexplicably ill in his cabin. He made it to the healing hall before collapsing, where he was treated by a medical team led by Master Healer Talian.
The Weyrleader survived, but his condition is critical. The healers have determined that the Weyrleader was poisoned using a southern variety of the common poisonous plant Tansy. It is unknown whether or not D'ren will survive the sevenday.
Weyrsecond N'gelt has officially resigned his position. He has submitted his choice of successor for the role of acting Weyrleader. Pending Tsuen's approval, the new acting Weyrleader will deliver a speech in the gather square at noon.
Master Healer Talian has been suspended from the Weyrleader's care due to suspicions regarding his loyalty. The acting Weyrleader plans to launch an investigation of him and any other suspicious figures within the next few days. "
OOC:
To allow more time to respond to the previous event threads, the speech revealing the new acting Weyrleader will be posted within 72 hours of this timestamp. It will be dated at noon of 16.11.232. We ask that no one post any new threads that occur after that date until the speech has been posted. Your ability to post later in the month will be restored as soon as the speech is up and the official plot begins.
The speech will be posted as a solo post, encouraging players to use new and existing threads to gossip about the news! Details concerning the plot and the opportunities it presents (both in and out of character) will be presented at the same time.
In the meantime, any and all healers are encouraged to PM Bluedragon and begin discussing their role in the Weyrleader's care. Players are also continued to post speculation in the OOC thread. We want to know what you and your character think!
