Actions and Reactions [N'gelt] [M] - D'ren - 28.Nov.12

D'ren was not amused.

It took a few days for him to get around to reviewing the case with I'shan and his latest mischief. The bluerider had spent the entire day in D'ren's hut, receiving tonguelahsing after tonguelashing over not only his destructive actions, but his refusal to out whoever his accomplice had been. There was more then enough evidence to suggest a second participant, but I'shan had been uncharacteristically quiet on the issue. Displeased, D'ren finally gave up and decided that the bluerider would receive the punishment in full...including that owed to his partner.

D'ren had already called for N'gelt. The brownrider had been informed that the person in need of punishment was young, reckless, insubordinate, and a complete disappointment. He had not, however, been told who it was. D'ren eyed the younger man, watching as he wriggled in dread. "I'm sorry, son. But he'll be here soon. Go ahead and remove your shirt."

No need to make a public spectacle of it, but the bluerider needed to learn a lesson. D'ren didn't expect N'gelt would be happy to see that it was his very mate being lashed, but he also figured N'gelt would rather do it than deal with someone else doing it.

The bronzerider watched disapprovingly as I'shan nervously removed his shirt and knelt in the floor, eyes cut away and thin body trembling. Squee was nowhere to be found, frightened by his bonded's terror. Instead, the tiny brown basked in the warmth and tenderness of Ilveriath, who remained unseen but showered I'shan with the same reassurance nonetheless. He also reached out to Saquith, warning the brown of what the Weyrleader had not.

When N'gelt arrived, D'ren nodded a greeting and sighed. "I'm sorry to say this, but it seems your mate is in a bit of trouble," D'ren said regrettably. He frowned. He hated the reality of such things, but he simply could not let this one slide. "...Theft of Weyr property, withholding information from an authority figure, insubordination, disturbing the peace...and a moderately-sized kitchen fire." D'ren frowned. How he wished the last part was a joke. I'shan cringed, trying and failing to restrain his fear. N'gelt wouldn't let this happen to him, right? N'gelt would't DO this to him...right?

D'ren cleared his throat. "Since he's refusing to tell who helped him, the sentence is doubled...twenty-four," he said. "Once it's done, you're released from duty for the day. I'm assuming you'll want to take him home and see to him."

D'ren smiled in condolence and stepped outside. He trusted N'gelt in his hut, and he needed to go pick up Tsereni from the creche.

Feel free to post all the way to getting I'shan back to his own hut, if you like. Powerplay away!
