He could move again but Orgailian still felt numb. He couldn't do anything to save his brother. His brother that was currently fighting for his life, again, in a bed not too far from his own. He had failed to keep his little brother safe.

It was still a blur, trying to recall everything but he had been assured that was the shock and clearer details might come to him later. What he did know was he had been stabbed in the back of the neck while taking notes in the library and then someone was forcing a liquid down his throat until Zoremet interrupted the attack. Orgailian soon found himself tensing up and slumping to the side and ending up on the ground. The table blocked most of his view but he could see their legs. Hear the cries. Hear Pit trying to help. Then he saw blood, too much of it, and Zoremet was soon on the floor as well with a table that felt like the continent between them.

Now, a handful of hours later he could move again and he was told he should be okay to leave. But not Zoremet. Would he survive? No one could tell him and not many could meet his gaze when he managed to croak out the question. His throat was dry and still felt constricted but was it the liquid poured down his gullet or fear of losing Zory?

Almost all of his siblings were there as soon as word reached them. Casa hadn't arrived yet but she was a Weyrwoman and would have to delegate duties first before she came. If she came at all. He considered her a friend and assumed she would but he probably wouldn't hold it against her if she didn't. Orgailian wasn't even sure he would want to see another sibling dying again after T'ryn's struggle last year. But he was, wasn't he? It was hard to keep his gaze from Zoremet as Mylorah and K'dar helped him to his feet to escort him on a walk around the Bowl. He could move again and needed to but he was a bit unsteady and asked for one of them to come along. T'ryn nominated their dark haired siblings, probably in an attempt to get K'dar away for a little bit with Mylorah as the strongest one for butting heads with him when it was needed.

He walked slowly, clutching his stomach as he went. He'd forgotten to eat since an early breakfast again, was that part of the growing pain? He'd noticed it earlier but didn't point it out since talking was hard, he didn't always eat, and apparently paralysis was a bitch that could mess you up. But this was different than the usual he was dumb and didn't eat pains and Orgailian gasped as he dropped to his knees from the abdominal pain. He shook his siblings off of him as they started fussing because he needed space. A lot of it as he felt he was about to vomit and held a hand over his mouth.

Why did people do that, he wondered as the urge continued and he looked around for a bucket. Even if it would help hold it in, he didn't think he should and if it didn't, he didn't want it on his hands. And there wasn't a bucket, at least not near enough to matter. So he threw up where he was kneeling, eyes going wide when he saw the blood. Maybe he should have said something sooner, he thought as Mylorah and K'dar started screaming for help and Healers were once more surrounding him before he blacked out.

When he woke, he wished for paralysis again. It hurt a lot less than whatever was ailing him now. He had been propped on his side, someone--A'tay?--explained because of his convulsions and managing to vomit while in and out of consciousness. He felt like he was more out than in right then as well and he gasped out a request for water. A'tay was the owner of the mystery voice and he helped him try to take some sips of water but swallowing hurt and they gave up after several attempts. Some had made it down and that was good enough for the moment.

They had propped him facing Zoremet and Orgailian was glad. He needed to see his brother and know he was still there and fighting. How much time had passed? Was Zory improving? Was he awake? Did he blame his useless brother? His eyes slid shut when tears started to fall and he felt A'tay take his hand before the darkness took him once more before anything was asked.

ooc: The first attack on Orgailian left him paralyzed but alert for several hours before an oil was poured down his throat which is what caused the delayed tummy troubles. Usually it would take a little longer but he's a skinny boy that didn't eat much that day so it went through his system quicker.

He's going to be in and out for a while and in a lot of pain as "initial symptoms typically begin with gastrointestinal problems; these include nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Symptoms are then likely to rapidly progress, to include severe dehydration, difficulty swallowing, hemorrhage in the mucosal membranes of the gastrointestinal system, bloody feces, vomiting blood, shock, and organ failure in the pancreas, kidney, liver, and GI tract." So we'll see how it goes!

R'nd Kids: If you want to have a spot to post about worrying about him while you watch over him, feel free to reply here. He may even be awake for a short time if you want a little back and forth. Starting time of the thread is just from when he woke up so it can be hours later, middle of the night, morning...

PS: I apologize for the title. I couldn't get Bell Biv Devoe's Poison out of my head.

It was early, far too early, and K'dar hadn't managed to get any sleep at all the night before after getting kicked out of the infirmary and distracting himself a bit with Chir. At least he didn't have to go back to Telgar for a bit, and he even brought a pitcher of klah as a bit of a peace offering for the healer, mumbling apologies for his behavior the prior day. Rh'us had taken the pitcher and poured himself a mug before huffing slightly and waving him off. "Go see your siblings. Zoremet seems stable for now, Orgailian... well just stay out of the way when I go in for the next round of medication. Which I can't do any sooner than scheduled or further complications will develop."

That last sentence were practically growled at K'dar who cringed and nodded. "Understood." He quickly went to go check on his brothers, noting that Pit was in his brother's bed again, her tiny green chest still rising and falling a bit too fast from her distress, wing still bound tightly against her side, front leg still wrapped in a cast. Zory at least wasn't as pale as he had been, so that was good, and his stitches were looking... horrible. K'dar sighed as he walked over and frowned, getting a better look. It wasn't that they were done sloppily, every single stitch was neat, from the ones along his neck, on his jaw, chest, arms... had he already been missing the pinky or had the healer removed it?

K'dar frowned as he stared at Zoremet's left hand, trying to remember. When he had first arrived at the infirmary there had been so much blood, and then while the healers had worked on him he'd tried to focus on keeping Gail company and staying out of the way before the downturn and... he turned to go check on his other brother, curled up on his side with a bucket nearby in easy reach. At least the bucket was empty for now, though the smell of antiseptic and blood and sickness was still heavy in the air so it might not have mattered even if it was full.

He sighed, running his hand through his hair as he started to just ramble aloud. "I'm back... sorry I was an ass and got thrown out. I worry... I wish one of you could tell me who did this so I... it doesn't matter right now. I'll be here at least. Tay sent a letter saying they were going to let us use some of the spare weyrs while you two are in the infirmary so I'll be stopping by until you get better enough to be sick of me. Just... don't make me live in Benden for long okay?"

“Benden… sucks,” Orgailian managed to gasp out the words though the effort hurt and took far too long for the second word to come. It took even longer for his eyes to open as that was a lengthy battle that he nearly lost. But seeing family, even for brief moments of time, seemed to help him. It also encouraged them to keep talking and he liked that. Their voices drowned out his laborious breathing that was both driving him insane and reminding him of how weak he was. As if his body shutting down wasn’t doing that enough on its own.

Last he was conscious, he weakly shooed his siblings away, urging them to get some sleep. A’tay pulled the stubborn card first and insisted on staying while sending the others off but considering he hadn’t responded to K’dar, Orgailian had to assume he was either asleep in a chair behind him or stretching his legs for one reason or another. Hard to say given he didn’t know what time was in general now let alone having an idea when A’tay would send a letter.

How long ago had it been since he was being told to focus on wiggling his toes and move his fingers? Now that was about all the fun he could have while being encouraged to stay on his side—which was fine by him given how much he wanted to curl up in a ball and wish the pain away. It hadn’t worked yet but he’d keep trying. He really wished they hadn’t taken his rings off so he could at least fiddle with them. Mylorah’s theory was maybe the poison would make him swell and that was all he needed—dying while puffy. Attractive.

“I’m the… ass,” Orgailian gave a weak smile and didn’t quite realise he was answering what K’dar had been rambling out of order as his brain slowly latched onto words and deciphered them for attempts at replies. He knew how the bronzerider could come across but Orgailian still thought he had him beat but didn’t feel like giving examples. Besides, trying to make K’dar feel better about an outburst he wasn’t even conscious for was counterproductive and made him look nice.

“So much blood,” he whispered with his eyes falling closed again. He was still awake but his eyes needed a break. It didn’t matter if they were open or not anyway when it came to remembering the attack. It would haunt him forever. But he wished he could tilt the memory so he could see the person that attacked them. “A man,” he added with a wince as swallowing started to hurt again. Was that from the poison attacking the area or from vomiting too much? Probably both because his luck was long ago used up.

The reply startled K'dar and he immediately went to Gail's side, his face a confused mix of relief and worry as he smiled. "Hey! Yeah... yeah Benden sucks, but that's okay. Soon you'll be out of here right? Out of here and then maybe you'll go to the hatching, head back to Ista... you'll be fine." He desperately hoped he was telling the truth. "And Zory will be fine too. The healer said Zory was stable, so that's a good thing. Just need you to catch back up. I know you were getting jealous of all the attention he was getting and had to go and get worse but it's okay."

He sighed, shaking his head as he grabbed a chair to sit next to Orgailian. "And you're not an ass... well not right now at least. So you're not always an ass. And you're still my brother and I wish I could do something. Don't worry about talking if you don't want to. Just rest, Gail. And don't make me regret giving you shit by getting worse." K'dar took a deep breath as he ran his fingers through his hair. "At least we know it was a man... eliminates about half."

"Tall man with no face and hands made of knives," muttered Zory as he lifted his hand. "Where's my finger?" The slurred question faded and his hand dropped back down, his head lolling to the side as he promptly fell back asleep. K'dar's head jerked to stare at his other brother, staring a good long while to make sure he could see that lean chest rising and falling. "Was that the first time he's woken up?"

Hopefully it wouldn't be the last time, and hopefully he'd be a bit more coherent by then. K'dar waited a moment longer but it seemed that Zory wasn't going to say anything else so he turned back to Gail. "After I get something to eat later, maybe a nap, I'll grab one of the books I brought and just camp out in here and read until I get kicked out to go sleep. Gotta oil Tiber sometime tomorrow I think, but he can wait. He's worried about you both too. If there's anything I can do, just let me know. I don't know if you can have anything to eat or drink yet, but if you can and want some I can make a run."

Was K’dar saying he wouldn’t Impress so he’d be back at Ista in a few weeks or was he saying a year in Benden was tolerable? He was not mentally up to that conversation or any and his brows furrowed while he still attempted to keep up. Until Zoremet was suddenly adding his voice to the conversation. “Zor!” Orgailian tried to sit up and jump to his feet to see his little brother but nothing was working properly and weak limbs combined with nausea had his head falling back onto the pillow with his body curling up in a ball once more.

It took some time for his breathing to slow again and he only managed a shrug until his voice was stable enough to try to reply. “When I’ve been awake.” He needed that. Hearing Zory’s voice let him know his brother was alive even if a bit loopy. But at this point, Orgailian was also willing to believe their attacker had hands made of knives. Although he would have to have sprouted them after dumping that oil down his throat. Or did he? Orgailian was suddenly rubbing a hand over his face to check for scratches even though no one had mentioned it before he fell ill. But he could be slathered in numbweed and his siblings were waiting to tell him…

He was going to smack Zoremet when they were both better for making him think such stupid things. Tiberuth, if you’re eavesdropping, never speak of that to anyone. He doubted the bronze was lurking but Orgailian didn’t want to risk it. But if he was, it didn’t seem like it was passed on to K’dar as the bronzerider started his babbling again. Was K’dar a nervous babbler? He’d never noticed before.

“Water hurts,” Orgailian offered as an explanation to whether he could eat or drink anything. Swallowing sucked as much as Benden Weyr and that wasn’t something he thought he’d ever say. Or think. Everything was getting to be too hard and his stomach was roiling so he reached out for the bucket the drudge had left too far away. “Only if you read aloud,” he pushed through the nausea, focusing on that babbling even though replying was probably making his situation worse.

“Go sit with Zor for a few,” he warned as his hand gripped the edge of the bucket and his gaze locked onto it with all the hatred he could muster. This was going to hurt and not be pretty and he did not need a new audience member.

If this was the first time Orgailian had noticed Zoremet wake up then chances were it was his first time. K'dar made a mental note to let his other siblings know as soon as they woke up and he saw them. Tiberuth was probably already letting the other bronzes know if he could, since he'd been worried and it was an easy and quick way to spread news among the siblings in general. Tiber would probably even let Mylorah know directly if he happened to find her.

For now though, K'dar wasn't too worried about the siblings outside of the infirmary, instead focusing more on Zory and Gail. With the younger of the brothers having shown signs of life he was feeling much better about that one at least. There was still Orgailian though, and even though he could be an ass, K'dar still cared enough to to stay there at his side. Until he was told not to.

"Oh? Oh!" He quickly grabbed onto the chair and moved it over, giving his brother some privacy as he decided to give Pit a small pat on the head. That was two firelizards who had helped against an attacker. Possibly even the same one. It almost made him want to get a firelizard of his own, but he knew Tiberuth wouldn't appreciate it. I wouldn't like it, but I would tolerate it. For you. I know. But I don't need one anyway, K'dar was fairly confident in his ability to fight a man, though that poison that had paralyzed Gail gave him something to think about. Tiberuth would have known something was wrong and been able to send for help, but he was too big to fit in most indoor spaces. Maybe he'd get one later.

"Gail... when you couldn't move... could you still feel things?" He wasn't sure if his brother was done with his bucket time or not, so he didn't bother to look over quite yet, just watched Zory sleep. Hopefully the odd chatter was just from him recovering and his brother wasn't crazy. Could you lose enough blood to go insane? Maybe he'd ask a healer later.

Could he feel things? He hadn’t thought about that given everything else that had been going on at the time. But as he shoved the bucket away and wiped his mouth on a small towel left for such purposes, Orgailian considered it now. He went back to the memory for the hundredth time but focused on himself instead of what he heard and saw through dry eyes. He never blinked. His gaze had become fairly unfocused during that time as well since he could only stare in one spot. He just happened to be lucky to face the way he did when he fell. But what did he feel? The floor was hard and cool beneath him and his left foot had hooked awkwardly on the chair and stayed there, leaving it bent at an uncomfortable position. There had been pain from that but more when the Healers started to untangle and move him. He was fairly certain his right arm had fallen asleep from lying on it as well.

“Yes,” he finally answered, probably making it seem like he had fallen asleep with how long it took. Now that his mind was mostly back in the infirmary again, Orgailian grabbed the small cup of water left on the table near him. It didn’t hold much since he ended up wearing more than he drank otherwise but he managed to get down two sips before giving up. Still hurt going down and he didn’t want anything else coming up again so soon.

He watched K’dar watch over Zoremet. That was a proper older brother and K’dar wasn’t even related to them. He wouldn’t have been caught unaware and he wouldn’t have let a little brother get so viciously attacked either. Had he even heard the attacker approaching or did he assume it was his brother? Zory wouldn’t have even been there if it wasn’t for him. What if it was just supposed to be him? Was there someone he had especially pissed off lately?

The thoughts, the talking, and the vomiting was taking their toll on him again and Orgailian shut his eyes once more. It took some time again before he found the strength to whisper, “I’m sorry, Zor,” before deciding sleep was better than pain.

With how rough Orgailian was looking, and how loopy Zoremet was, K'dar wasn't expecting much conversation. He wasn't even sure how much of his own words either could hear. Even if Gail seemed awake that didn't mean he was capable of paying attention at any particular moment. Still, he was fine with talking to them so they'd at least know he was there if they did happen to hear him.

"Hm?" It took a moment to remember the question he'd asked, and when he did K'dar frowned. "That... sucks." He wasn't sure what else to say, or what to do. It was a terrifying thought on its own and he wasn't even sure what sort of poison could even do that. He thought about asking the healer if he knew anything, but he didn't want to irritate the man and get thrown out again. "I'm sure Zory forgives you. He'll probably say so when he can, and he'll probably apologize for not cuddling you while you weren't feeling well."

Was Gail asleep now? It was hard to tell, but K'dar wasn't about to just loudly ask or shake his brother's shoulder to figure it out. He continued softly talking though, and even if his brothers were asleep hopefully the steady and soft tone wouldn't wake them up, and if they were awake, maybe it would be comforting. "I think once you two are better we could do something. I can take you fishing, or to a Hold to explore and look around, maybe do some shopping."

He settled in a bit more comfortably in his chair, making sure he had a good view of both brothers as he slouched. He'd stay there until a different sibling (or probably that grumpy healer) sent him out and then he'd get food and grab his book, but maybe until then he'd have a nap.

Orgailian woke to silence. Wasn’t K’dar just talking about something? Fishing? Probably. He sat up slowly as he still felt like crap but his insides didn’t feel like they were going to revolt just yet. He spotted K’dar sleeping in a chair which explained the lack of talking but it didn’t tell him how much time had passed. Possibly not much since Healer Rh’us didn’t wake him with his next round of poking, prodding, and drugging. Good. He had some time before people started showing up again and—

Movement at the foot of his bed drew his attention and Orgailian spotted the dark blue firelizard. “Shadow,” he mumbled with slight irritation. Of course A’tay would leave him behind to help keep an eye on them while he rested or ate. But he didn’t need the little snitch ruining his attempt to see Zoremet. “Everything’s okay here, buddy. Go tell A’tay we’re fine and get yourself a treat for doing a good job.” Shadow cocked his head at him as if he was weighing the truth of his words so Orgailian gave a little smile. It was all he could manage given the pain he was in but it seemed to be enough and Shadow vanished to do his task.

As carefully and quietly as he could, Orgailian swung his legs around and placed his feet on the floor. But as soon as he stood, his entire body was on the ground. He swore under his breath, gasping from the new wave of pain and closed his eyes to let the nausea pass. Since K’dar wasn’t freaking out, he knew the bronzerider was still sleeping and that encouraged him on and Orgailian was soon on his hands and knees slowly crawling the fairly short distance to Zoremet’s bed.

When he arrived at his destination, he took another break to catch his breath and avoid being sick. As that passed, he rose a little higher, staying on his knees to get a better look at his little brother. Zoremet was alive but not whole. So many cuts were stitched and bandages covered other areas—including where a pinkie finger should have been. He wanted to touch Zoremet but his hand only hovered above the bed, unsure of where it was safe to touch and worried it wouldn’t be wanted. Useless again. There was nothing he could do now just like then.

“I’m sorry, Zor,” he whispered, not wanting to wake the man that was in need of some healing sleep. Orgailian looked back to his bed that was now so far away and liked where he was. He shifted to sit properly on the floor and leaned his head against the bed. Yes, this was a fine place to rest and he’d be close by if Zoremet woke again and needed anything.

Zelana had a small jar of magic juice hidden away in a blanket like it was contraband. It wasn't really magic, but it was the best she could come up with from what she'd learned, and she had no idea if the healers were going to let her give it to Orgailian, but she figured it wouldn't hurt to try. It was something she'd been working on for about a year, ever since she'd been poison and had to choke down the worst tasting filth. Hopefully this would be much more... soothing and gentle on his stomach, especially since she was sure it was too late to try and absorb the poison out of his belly. And at least it would be delicious.

"Gail?!" She managed to at least not quite shout, though her hissed whisper of alarm was enough to wake up K'dar who softly cursed as he moved to try and help his brother up off the floor with an apology for having fallen asleep. Zelly frowned, moving to help get the grumpiest of the blondes back into his bed. "Hey, I'll stay and keep them company for a bit. You go nap or whatever."

At least K'dar seemed too sleepy to argue. Zelly carefully climbed up to sit on the edge of Gail's bed as she frowned, worried about him. "I think," she said quietly, "that it's a good sign you were able to get out of bed that much? You should probably still rest though. Want some pillows to help you sit up?" She hated how upsetting it all was, and though she'd been trying to keep thinking about it all as positively as possible (Gail was too stubborn to die and she still owed him a blowjob after all and he wouldn't just let her get away with not doing that, and Zory would get lost on his way to Death's door), it was probably obvious enough to everyone else that she was... off.

She snorted softly at that, shaking her head before quietly saying, "I think people are letting me skip out on my chores because you two aren't better yet. So I guess you should take all the time you need." Zelly forced a small smile at that before she glanced down at the jar she'd brought. "I made this for you. I think it will help your stomach, but... well normally I've been using this recipe for small upset stomachs... I don't know how well it will work here. It should taste good though." It was just a shame she didn't know how to help Zory at all. At least he was looking a little less pale than last time she stopped in. She'd take all the good signs she could.

He was too weak to fight them off or insist he was fine where he was and let K'dar scoop him up and plop him back onto his own bed. He probably should have been grateful the man was too tired to show attitude and drop him hard onto the mattress so Orgailian held off any comments that ran slowly through his mind. Honestly, they were running through quicksand and arrived to his mouth too late anyway to be of any use. Instead he gave a pathetic-sounding laugh at Zelly's optimism. "You didn't see me get there." Falling and crawling did not count as good signs in his book. Maybe signs of stubbornness and probably stupidity given how he was feeling. But he didn't elaborate and instead asked for another pillow since he was tired of lying down. He watched Zelly steal the pillow from an unoccupied bed and let her fuss with them and gratefully leaned back against the pile.

At Zelly stating she wasn't being given any chores because of him and Zory, Orgailian gave a snort. "Coincidence; same here." Although he wouldn't be surprised if in another day or two they had found something for him to do in bed. Maybe some kind of paperwork or counting grains of rice. Maybe he could be a food and drink tester. He was already fucked up and possibly dying so another dose against him while saving another would be viewed as acceptable. "I promise to suffer as long as possible."

And then he was groaning at the idea of drinking anything but also smiling. He had spent a lot of time looking up herbal remedies and other random healer-type things that Zelana had become interested in, especially after her own stint in poison recovery. "It hurts, Zelly," Orgailian ran his fingers down his throat as a way of explanation. Talking sucked as well since it made him want to swallow saliva but some people were worth the effort to hide the wincing. "and it might not stay down long." He was so tired of vomiting and even his untrained ass knew he was going to, if not already, be dehydrated. He was also worried about snippets of a conversation he wasn't sure he heard or hallunciated that had Healers worried of organs shutting down depending on what he ingested. So many things to look forward to.

"Do I have to suffer?" Zoremet's voice was dry and cracked as he asked the question. "I want to just lie here and nap instead." His head was swimming, his limbs were heavy, and he was vaguely nauseous, but he was at least mostly numb. Something was wrong with his left hand, it ached in a way that felt distant and foggy, much like most of his left side and his chest and his neck, but this felt more wrong. He lifted his left hand for a moment, gently trembling as he brought it into view and stared. Something didn't look right at all. He brought up his right hand to look, but suddenly a girl was there holding it like some sort of majestic glowing angel with dark hair.

He squinted up at her and realized it was only Zelly. "Oh hi, Zelly... lemme see your hand?" He blinked as she held it up, then turned to look at his heavily bandaged left and blinked again. "What happened to my finger?" There was a faint tickle in the back of his mind as if he really should know, or had already asked. He set his hand down to carefully rest on his belly and grimaced at the pulls and aches he was starting to feel with the movement. He flopped his head to the side to look at Gail but winced again at the pulling in his neck. "Ow..."

"Ah, you're awake. And you are lucky that your brother and your friend here helped you off the floor before I got here. Stop hindering your recovery." Zory flinched at the voice, eyes shutting as he listened to the heavy footsteps of the healer. "Now then, what exactly is in that jar? I don't want to know what you think it will do or what you think it's for, I just want to know the ingredients." Zoremet almost fell back asleep as he listened to Zelly just rattle off a list of ingredients, though he managed to win the struggle to stay awake for the moment.

Much to his surprise the healer didn't yell or shout when she was done. "That seems fine then. It shouldn't hurt at the very least and anything he can keep down would be worthwhile though..." Zory cracked an eye open as he heard the sound of the wooden bucket scraping briefly on the floor and saw the healer peek into it with a frown. "Wait to try it until tomorrow, maybe the day after. Now if you'll just stay out of the way for a moment, I've got some more medication to administer."

Zory didn't see what the healer gave Gail, instead just quietly dreading until it was his turn. Then the man was suddenly staring down at him with stern cold blue eyes and a frown and Zory couldn't help but try and cringe away as the man reached down for him... and then very gently touched the side of his neck. "Oh good, this one seems to be healing much better, though there is some irritation where the skin is pulling here. One moment." The healer rambled on a bit more, applying numbweed as Zory let out a sigh of relief and started to relax. He was just glad the healer wasn't yelling.

After the healer was finally gone, Zory carefully turned his head to try and look at Gail. "Gail... are you okay?" At least his voice was sounding a little better than when he'd first tried saying anything. He was going to ask where Pit was, but realized that at some point she'd wound up back with Nari who was taking care of her. That was fine, he wanted her to get better too.

His excitement at Zoremet being awake and more cohesive vanished when his brother noticed his finger. He seemed to be taking it well but maybe he was still loopy from pain or drugs. Not that Orgailian had the chance to ask as Rh'us appeared and started in on him for leaving the bed. How the fuck did the Healer know? Did K'dar rat him out? Maybe Shadow had come back and turned traitor. He knew it hadn't been the wisest idea to leave the bed--when he fell. Before that point, it had been a great idea but he'd take the tongue lashing. He wouldn't take the cranky ass yelling at a friend trying to help and was ready to try and defend Zelana when Rh'us said what she brought was fine. Good. He was honestly feeling nauseated again and didn't want to speak more than he had to.

He didn't fuss as Rh'us prodded him some more since he did want to recover but he did hate the way Zoremet cringed away from the Healer. He knew how he felt watching from his limited view on the ground but what was his brother going through as the one that had been so savagely attacked? Was he always going to be timid around approaching men now? His friendly and outgoing brother that would hug and nap with anyone. Did he break Zoremet? He shut his eyes and looked away, something that was noted as Zoremet checked in with him.

"Yeah," he lied because what was he supposed to say when talking was a chore and likely to be interrupted by leaning over a bucket? Telling his brother how sorry he was and waiting to be blamed and told to leave Zoremet alone forever could wait a little longer. Maybe when Healers weren't lurking around corners and friends weren't hovering and being so kind. "Just tired," Orgailian added and it was true but also a good cover for avoiding any conversations. With Zory awake, Zelly would have someone to talk to so it wasn't like he had to keep playing host or pretending he wasn't in as much pain as he was. His insides were twisting up and he was ready to ask someone to drop him between so sleep was probably the better option to reach for.

It was probably mean of Zory to not pay attention as his friend tried to talk about her jar of juice and some other stuff, but he was too busy frowning at his brother. At least he was only tired. Tired was probably fine as far as things that could be going on. But he still wanted to help. And his wounds were feeling much better now so maybe he could do something.

He very carefully set his right hand down first since it had the fewest stitches, and pushed himself up to sit. Zelly was suddenly there, her hand holding him steady at his back. "Hey, what are you doing?" Zoremet shook his head stubbornly as he clumsily grabbed hold of her to stand. Maybe it was because she didn't care about rules as much to begin with, but he was glad to see that she kept helping him along as he made his way to his brother's bed to carefully (though a bit clumsily) climb up on it and drape himself around and across Gail.

Cuddles solved everything, at least as far as Zory was concerned, and now that he could get some more contact with someone from his family he was feeling a lot better. All the tension left his shoulders and he sighed. "I'm glad you're okay, Gail. And I can try to crawl back into my own bed if you really want." But until then he was going to probably drift off, and he'd apologize to Zelly later if she got too bored.

Orgailian thought he would be able to drift back to sleep in peace but then he heard the Zs moving about and getting closer. Why anyone kept trying to be near him was a mystery. He was a disgusting mess that could explode again at any moment and he didn’t even want to be near himself—though that was also because of how angry at himself he was. He stiffened when someone sat on the bed. It was easy to assume it would be Zelly offering another form of comfort since he couldn’t drink her magic juice yet but even without looking and before contact was made, Orgailian knew it was his brother.

“Zor…” he sucked on his lower lip, doing his best not to burst into tears. Other than crying from pain and into heaves into a bucket, Orgailian hadn’t had time to release a lot of emotions. They were threatening to spill out now as his little brother clung to him. He didn’t deserve the comfort but didn’t say that. It was easier to believe Zoremet needed the comfort and was taking it from the closest person that was also trapped in a bed. That was fine. It was the least he could do for his little clone he had failed.

He blindly reached out for a hand and gave it a light pat instead of taking it and squeezing it. Zoremet was a physical mess and Orgailian didn’t know what area was safe to touch without causing more pain but he had to do something to acknowledge the cuddle and give his approval of it. But after a few minutes he sighed and opened his eyes to see Zelly was still hanging out and Zoremet didn’t seem to be asleep yet. Good. “You can stay but you’ll have to suck it up and be the big spoon for once. It’s better for both of us if I roll to my side again.”

With some careful manoeuvring, they finally settled into a mostly comfortable situation. The beds weren’t big enough for such things but they were making it work and being so close to the edge was a benefit for him. “Zel, you don’t need to stay. I think we’re both going to sleep again for a while.” He was starting to get a little weirded out by the idea of people constantly watching him sleep, even if it showed how much they cared, but the medication was starting to kick his ass again and Orgailian let sleep grab him once more, with or without the audience.
