Ista Isle is amused by the weaklings of Benden, but at least their heat is dry. Benden is muggy and riddled with heavy thunderstorms and downpours.

North: Late Spring | South: Late Autumn
9.9 C to 18.4 C | 13.7 C to 24.5 C

Ista is heating up swiftly, and preparing for a rough summer - hopefully nothing like the one from a couple turns before with the wildfires! The rest of Northern Pern is warming upsomewhat slower, but with no less gusto as summer begins to creep into the sky, keeping the sun awake longer, warming the ledges of the weyrs. Rainstorms are sporadic, but keep the world well watered, despite the heat of the days.

The Red Star can be seen by those who choose to see it, causing no shortage of whispers that Thread will return - and just as much dismissal from those who do not believe. After all, it's been so long, surely it is no longer a threat! Weyrleaders are, regardless, beginning to put together wings in their Weyrs, if only to keep troublesome and bored riders busy.

Month 12, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Winter -3 - 2 C | 26 - 35 F
Fort is already home to snowfalls, though early in the month they fade away when the sun rises. As the month progresses, more snow stays on the ground, ending up with several feet of snow before the month is over. The areas around homes and populations has the snow shoveled away or trodden down. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove some danger and are routinely removed.

Ista Boundaries:
Winter, 9 - 21 C | 48 - 69 F
Generally warm enough to go about without a jacket on, Ista has low humidity but high chance of rain, generally in the form of vicious afternoon thunderstorms. The storms wash away any bite of heat the day had, and leave it feeling fresh for the night. The days are short, but grow bright quickly and the afternoons seem to be particularly short when heavy thunderstorms roll in and cover the sky.

Telgar Boundaries:
Winter, -5 - 0 C | 23 - 32 F
Bitterly cold, with icy winds constantly flowing down from the mountains. Freezing rain is almost constant; the sky always a murky grey and the ground slippery with slushy refrozen ice. The days are extremely short, with the nights dropping a good number below the daily average. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove a major danger, and are checked upon every day, with anything bigger than a fist being removed.

Month 07, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Summer 27 - 38 C | 80 - 100 F
Light breezes down from the mountains tot he North keep the temperature comfortable, even when the sun can bake an egg on the edge of a weyr. Sunburn is common.

Ista Boundaries:
Summer, 34 - 43 C | 93 - 110 F
A very dry, dusty heat. Little to no rain, causing more than some to worry about the drought not breaking and the rest of the Isle being at risk of fires. Many seek the depths of weyr, hold or hall during the midday and early afternoon heat.

Telgar Boundaries:
Summer, 26 - 35 C | 79 - 95 F
Muggy, sticky and generally just plain humid. Thunder storms are regular occurances, often happening in the early afternoon or evening, with heavy rainfall before drying off sometime in the night. Mornings are usually crisp, but warm up swiftly.

Month 04, 740 AL
North: Early Spring | South: Early Autumn
−1.9 C to 4.7 C | 20.0 C to 29.0

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself naturally warmer, (~10C / 50) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.

Katila is beginning to cool down to more reasonable temperature, but is no less muggy and uncomfortable to those who are not used to the seasons. It is still a good place to escape to when seeking a warm day or a nice swim at the lake, though.

The Red Star can be seen by those who choose to see it, causing no shortage of whispers that Thread will return - and just as much dismissal from those who do not believe. Winter has come slowly to the Northern lands of Pern, with more rain and cold winds than snow. As the month progresses, more and more snow will fall, with frequent blizzard-like storms towards the very end of the month. Telgar and Fort will in particular become burried under mountains of snow, while Ista is sunjected to frequent icy rainstorms, and heavy winds coming in from across the ocean.

Following the disastrous fires (sometime in around the 28th of Month 08), Ista Isle has found itself suddenly in the midst of constant rain; not enough to flood, but a steady, dreary downfall that seems to only take a time out for a couple of hours here and there, before coming back again. Its cast the entire sooty Isle into a sombre and depressed mood. Alongside the rain, the weather is muggy and while not hot, is not particularly cool, either.

The rest of Northern Pern is getting their usual weather, though they, too, have been called to action following the wildfires that savaged Ista. Many individuals who called Ista Island home have been relocated not just to Ista Weyr, Ista Hold or Sea Cliff Hold, but also to other areas of Pern, whether with family or friends.

17.4 to 25.5 C | 10.8 C to 23.2 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm - 37 to 45 C - has resulted in an incredibly dry summer, with little to no rain. This was climaxed by a dry thunderstorm, the results of which caused three fires to start across the Island on the 24.07.739 in the early morning hours. While the results of this are yet to be played out, the events will no doubt leave more than just the scarring of the land.

Ista is still unseasonably warm, with average weather being in the 37 to 45 C range, making it now a more than slightly undesirable escape for the rest of the Northern population from the more enjoyable early summer weather. There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind. Ista's limited farmlands and fields are dry and dusty, with golden straw instead of grass where there is any growth at all.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are still getting a lot of evening rain and the occasional thunderstorms, which cools down the populus and allows them to sleep easily without sweating their brains out like the Istans.

Month 11, 738 AL
North: Late Autumn | South: Late Spring

Autumn is coming to an end, with the days slowly becoming shorter still, with early nights and late mornings. The temperature is getting very cool, with jackets being more required, but it has yet to actually snow. Despite this, it is often raining and miserable.

The Southern contient is in full bloom, with flowers coming to life in the grasses and on the trees. The skies are bright blue with fluffy clouds, and occassional sunshowers bringing a dampness to the day. The nights are still crisp, but not cold. The ground is starting to dry up as water is absorbed by the blooming flora.

Month 10, 738 AL
North: Mid Autumn | South: Mid Spring

Autumn is in full tilt, with the leaves a shocking array of orange and red, and more of them on the ground than on the trees. The skies are often a clear and crisp blue, with a cool breeze flowing, shifting the leaves and sending them scattering. Rain is not common, but when it does roll in the skies are dark like night come early, and thunderstorms are not uncommon, though they don't last for long and the amount of rain that falls isn't too heavy.

Month 09, 738 AL
North: Start Autumn | South: Start Spring

Nothern regions are entering into Autumn, with the trees beginning to change to their reds and oranges, while the air is beginning to feel more crips. There are still more warm days than cool, and the nights are mostly warm enough for light bedding still. Rain has faded away and most days are clear and bright.

The Southern contient finds itself heading into spring, with rain and flowers vying for attention. The ground is often muddy and squishy, while the skies are either bright and blue, or overcast wtih fluffy clouds.

Month 08, 738 AL
North: End Summer | South: End Winter

Summer is winding to an end in the Northern hemisphere, with the weather slowly cooling and the trees beginning to turn their leaves. The days are still long and bright, but the sun is beginning to lose some of its strength.

The coastal Weyrs are falling victim to coastal storms, strong winds and heavy rains with thunder and lightening.

The more inbound Weyrs and Holds find themselves drier, not getting nearly as much rain or storms, they find themselves on the end of a long drought.

Month 07, 738 AL
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter

Summer is in full spring in the Nothern hemisphere, with the bulk of each day being unbearbly hot, followed by vicious thunderstorms and heavy humidity in the evenings and at night.

The coastal areas are experiencing monsoon like weather, and spend a lot of their time locked away in Hold, Hall or Weyr.

The more inner locations find themselves faced with more dry heat during the day, and horrible humidity in the evening and at night while the thunderstorms rage.

She waved at people she knew and people she didn't. She hadn't expected to get an invitation to this little shindig of Casa's but sweet little Pixie had brought home the missive. She didn't know Casa from a hole in the wall, though she wouldn't mind getting to know her the chit was attractive enough, but she was invited nonetheless. Good thing she knew a rider and had been able to hook herself up with a ride to Ista. She might not have been able to make it out to this over nighter otherwise.

She wore a perpetually wicked grin on her face as she picked out a few people she would attempt to entice to her furs. Not that she was going to use those things she'd probably die from a heat stroke. It was fucking hot down here, the girl much more used to the cooler environment of Fort. She grimaced as she lifted blonde hair away from her neck. She tried to cool herself with a quick fan of her other hand and made a disgusted face when she felt the sweat drip down the back of her neck.

She edged around the crowd looking for a likely place to sleep the night away and maybe find herself some kind of refreshment. She'd need some food and some wine to get through the worst of the heat. She remembered why she'd always disliked Ista. To hot, made her sweat and she only liked sweating one way and standing outside wasn't it. Finding a flat area of grassy section. Daelyne tossed her pack down and reached inside for something to tie her hair up. Finding a string she quickly wrapped her blonde locks into a knot and tied it off with the string and stood. Leaving her pack where it lay, some what off to the side, she went looking for something to drink.

"Just where the hell can a girl get a drink around here?" she asked who ever cared to listen. Someone had to know where to get something to drink. At this point she wouldn't care if it was water, she just needed something for her parched throat.

It wasn’t exactly Tala’s usually way to go on camping trips that were planned to be entirely sex, drinking, and whatever other fun adult things were thought up, but when she’d overheard Casa and Mylorah quietly discussing the venture, she’d impulsively invited herself. She’d been a bit… well, not an antisocial prude since getting pregnant, not really, but she’d definitely been ‘getting around’ less since Ryvala had come around. Tala didn’t mind that fact, but, well, maybe she should be spending more time with friends of the kissing variety. Especially since the infamous Hatching.

Someone practically dying in your arms wasn’t something you got over quickly. It had been almost exactly a month and Tala was still rather shaken up about it all. And okay, maybe walking up to Casa and Mylorah and informing them she was joining their camping trip wasn’t the best coping mechanism, but it was better than overthinking all her life choices.

Camping wasn’t too bad a distraction on its own, even without the added bonus of sex and alcohol. Ista was hotter than usual, certainly, but Tala was one of the lucky Southern Continent born kids who had a higher heat tolerance, so the opportunity to sleep outside was a nice change. And even when even Tala did get uncomfortably hot, suffering in the heat out on the beach with lots of alcohol and good company was a lot better than suffering in the heat in the Candidate barracks while contemplating her own mortality.

And now she was sitting on one of her blankets (it may be hot, but it was sandy and Tala figured she and everyone else would appreciate the extra layers on the ground), idly twirling a bottle of wine she’d brought for the occasion around between her feet in front of her and watching the others mill about. An interesting collection of people, to be sure. Goldrider Casa, who seemed to be in charge of this outing, and at least one rider of all other colors (though mostly blues, which, considering the theme of the camping trip, surprised Tala not at all) and a handful of Candidates. Tala could name them, even if she couldn’t say she’d met them all proper. Of the Candidates, she knew the girls best, both having grown up in Katila with her, though a few turns younger. While she was considering the motley crew, one of said Candidate girls, Daelyne, asked for a drink. Tala had learned turns ago to always bring her own drinks, as these things always brought more people than expected and alcohol went fast, but she had no reluctance over sharing what she bought, especially with pretty girls.

“Here,” Tala said, holding out her bottle of wine towards Daelyne, “you can have some of this if you like.” It was nothing special as wine went, not a fancy top-rate Benden, but it didn’t make you cringe when you drank it and it got you just as buzzed as anything else. Quite suitable for this camping trip, Tala rather thought as she held it out enticingly.

Daelyne's grin was wicked when she looked to Tala as the other girl handed up a bottle of wine. She'd always liked Tala. Thought the girl pretty to look at and a little wild. Daelyne liked wild. She plopped down next to the girl, wiping the sand she'd accidentally gotten on her blanket and reached for the bottle. She winked over the edge of it as she swung it back. Tonight was going to be a delight. Breath hissed out at the bite of the wine, definitely not that fine Benden everyone had grown to enjoy. More like that swill they'd made down south. No matter. Drunk was drunk and it didn't matter what got you there.

Another pretty girl, Daelyne raised a brow as she watched Casa fan that pretty little dress around her legs. Daelyne was disappointed that she hadn't thought to wear a skirt herself. Much easier to get out of than the short pants she'd put on instead. Her eyes moved to the tent Casa pointed at and nodded in thanks. She supposed she should have brought her own drink, but why waste what she had at home when something would be provided for her. Besides... This wasn't her party, why should she have to bring something.

"Oh I intend to," she told Casa with a wink and another grin. "You ladies are looking quite... Fine this evening," she said to them both, "Bit hot though, might take a swim later and you're welcome to come along." Yes, wet skin and fun. Tonight was definitely going to be a delight.

Tala laughed at Daelyne’s wink, charmed by the theatrics the other girl put into drinking. The little hiss at the taste amused her — the stuff wasn’t that bad! Or maybe Tala just had no taste. How would she know? She briefly considered bringing the other bottle of wine she had over to the drink tent Casa indicated, but decided against it. Moving the wine would mean she’d have to get up to move it and then wouldn’t have an extra drink within easy reach, so if she wanted more she’d have to go to the tent again. Much easier to just hold onto it.

“A swim sounds nice,” she admitted, thinking of the way her loose shirt was sticking to her shoulders. Ugh. And, you know, naked women. And probably men, too. Sounded like a good time to Tala. She was so thankful she’d been born amongst weyrfolk, it was so much easier to do simple things like swimming without feeling embarrassed, and you got a nice view as well!

“Shouldn’t be too much longer for the sun to get a bit lower. Then we can drink and swim ‘cause it’s fun and not because we’re dying in this heat.” Tala tilted her head to consider Daelyne a moment. “Lots of other fun things we can do out here once it’s not so hot we’d melt if we moved more than to take a drink every few minutes.” Not that Tala minded the heat right then too much, but teasing was fun. To emphasize her point, Tala pulled at the low collar of her shirt, fanning herself with it a moment before letting the fabric fall back against her skin, making sure the hemline rested suggestively lower on her chest.

"Gonna get some of that special drink Casa made?" Daelyne asked as she watched the little blond saunter away. That girl was going to get herself in trouble in the worst way. Daelyne could only hope the weyr was ready for it. She turned her attention back to the girl at hand, blue eyes tracking along Tala's body. Tala had a point about the blasted heat. She wouldn't mind sliding right up next to her, but the heat made it impossible. Daelyne had no desire to get stuck to the other girl from the not so fun kind of sweating. She had other ways in mind.

"Candlemark or two and then I'm getting naked and hitting that water," she smirked, "Got half a mind just to strip right now." She would too if she'd given it a thought earlier on. Daelyne didn't generally care what others thought of her but there were some she wouldn't mind sidling up to who just might not appreciate so quick of a show. Might have to work to make them want her naked. Not that she minded having to work for it much.

Eyes glittered with excitement when the girl next to her tugged out the shirt she wore in an attempt to cool herself. Full lips parted just slightly at the sight of her skin. Oh, they would definitely need to get naked. And soon. "Careful now," she said with husky amusement, "Or I might just think you're trying to seduce me." She chuckled and took another swig of the wine.

"But don't let me stop you, Tala. Seduce away, my girl, seduce away," she dipped her chin in invitation. Daelyne wanted her to try her seduction out on her, Tala might earn herself a quick kiss and a pet if she did it just right. Tongue darted out to touch her upper lip as her eyes took in the shadow between the other girls breasts. Tonight was going to be so much fun and she just couldn't wait.

Tilting her head in consideration Tala also watched Casa walk away, “I think I’d like to swim a bit first,” she decided, figuring that no one would be interested in swimming later (not that Tala really swam, just waded into the water a bit), once they’d had whatever Casa had brewing. And once she’d cooled down in the water, she wouldn’t mind warming back up as much.

“I’ll follow your lead whenever you do,” Tala said, stretching her arms up above her head and using the movement as an excuse to push her chest forward. She was showing off, so what? Surely no one there minded a little show, though Tala was only focused on one person at the moment. Tala eyed the way Daelyne’s tongue poked out from between her lips, swallowing dryly at the thought of the sorts of things the tongue could be used for. Well, she had just been invited to seduce the woman, as if she wasn’t planning on doing so anyway. It would be a shame not to comply.

With a lopsided grin she brought her arms back down, slowly, and leaned in towards Daelyne, careful to keep just far enough away that she could barely feel the heat from the other woman’s body.

“Hmnn, it’s been a while since I’ve tried seducing anyone. Might be a bit out of practice, but I’m sure it’ll all come back to me soon enough, with a little experimenting,” Tala tilted her head a little, as if in thought, but mostly to let the ends of her hair tickle Daelyne’s arm, “Or maybe you’d like to tell me how you want to be seduced. Have me doing whatever you say.” she said lowly with a glance up at Daelyne as she waited for her to respond.

"Sure about that?" she said with a grin, "Might lead you straight into trouble." Blue eyes sparked with glee as the girl stretched her arms above her head to give Daelyne a beautiful view of the good she had to offer. Daelyne could appreciate every form that came at her. Women, men, she didn't care and Tala was a lovely woman with her snapping blue eyes and those full, full lips. Lips Dae could imagine in places that brought a shiver to her body, lust wrought bumps rising along her arms. She had a feeling she'd just found a girl as wicked as she was.

It was written in the lopsided grin on Tala's face as the other girl leaned towards her. Far enough away Dae couldn't touch her, but close enough Daelyne could see down her shirt and knew that preview hadn't been lying. Mouth immediately waters at the idea of wrapping her lips around a puckered nipple. Breath darted out and Daelyne gave herself a shake to compose herself. "Oh we can experiment all you want darling," she purred at the other girl, "I'll be your practice doll."

It was a lot for Dae to keep her hands off the hair that tickled her arm, wanting nothing more then to sink her fingers in and tug her on over. But Daelyne was willing to let Tala have the lead here. She hadn't been lying. The girl wanted to experiment? Daelyne was her girl. "Would you like that, love?" she asked, "A little direction?" If she did, Dae could do that too. "We could start by you getting closer. Get over here, darling, so I can touch you. You're much to far away." Once she did, Daelyne would have to decide if she wanted to dominate Tala or let Tala simply play her like a harper's gitar.

She had no problem doing either. The question truly was how far Tala was willing to let her go.

Tala laughed breathily as she looked up at Daelyne, listening to the other woman’s words. She felt warm all of a sudden, but this wasn’t the nasty heat from the weather, but a much nicer internal warmth. A moment’s consideration was given to Daelyne’s request she get closer, as Tala debated how close she could get before it got uncomfortably hot — and not in the fun sexy way — but it was getting darker and the air would get cooler soon, so she decided to not worry and just go for it.

She scooted closer to Daelyne, but before quite touching her Tala turned and, instead of sliding up next to her, moved up to sit on her lap. With a grin Tala rested her arms on Daelyne’s shoulders, leaning in so her breath would ghost against the other girl’s ear.

“Is this close enough?” Tala asked, voice lower than normal, shifting a bit in Daelyne’s lap as if to find a more comfortable position. “What would you like me to do now, Daelyne?” Her breath caught a little as she wondered what Daelyne might tell her to do next. Fuck, but there was something about getting bossed around by pretty girls that got her all twisted up inside and wanting. If this one was willing to order her around, Tala was absolutely planning to take advantage of it.
