The Character change box is now at the bottom of the page, beside the up/down arrows! Green and Gold dragon flight dates have been shifted to the bottom of the page, where the (useless!) discord widget was located. Where the dragon flights were in the header, is now replaced by a Monthly Event box! This will be updated at the start of each month, with a fun mini-event you can take part in, if you want to! K'tir wasn't quite sure what brought him from Ista to Fort that afternoon. He liked the warmer weather and even the sense of isolation that Weyr had so he didn't leave it too often unless he was tasked with something like running a message or even getting something for his kids. Neither of those had happened yet there he was, strolling through Fort Weyr with a certain destination in mind.

Actually, he did know why his feet -- or rather, Ghaeth -- brought him to Fort. R'nya hadn't replied to his letter from about six weeks ago and he was worried. Well, not really. The man was the Weyrleader and if anything had happened to him, everyone would know. But K'tir also knew the letter had likely irritated the stoic man that was surprisingly fun to play with and had simply chosen not to reply. So a surprise visit was in order!

K'tir chuckled to himself as he thought back over the turns since they had both lost a gold Flight and ended up having sex in the hall in front of a lot of people. That had not been one of his smoothest moments after the fact when he teased the bronzerider but it did make him want to continue doing so. K'tir was usually more reserved and even boring if the right person was asked to describe him. He didn't mind that description as it usually meant people left him alone when he wanted that and he could sit back and watch others make fools of themselves.

But since that Flight and an awkward blind date courtesy of Rhaedalyn and Z’ia, K'tir would every so often make a random comment to R'nya or send him a letter to check up on the man. And every so often, R'nya would reply back, leaving K'tir laughing at the imagery created.

He knocked on the door to the Weyrleader's office and when no reply came, he let himself in, finding it empty. That wasn't too surprising. It was just after midday meal and R'nya had probably wandered off to eat with his mate. M'ris was fond of doing that with Ameris and it seemed like a good way to run away from responsibilities for an hour or so.

He eyed R'nya's comfortable looking chair but decided he didn't want to push the bronzerider that much and instead settled into the chair on the opposite side of the desk. He pulled out the book he had been reading from his bag and set the bag on the ground beside him.

The book in question was one he really shouldn't be reading, or even own. He found it one day when he was in town looking for gifts for his children. A vendor had pointed out the small collection of books he had started binding and then drew him further into the back to show some more books of the adult variety. The title alone amused K'tir and he paid far too much for it. It was rather smutty and K'tir wondered who the author was. It almost reminded him of the Mysterious Notes that used to pop up all over Katila back in the day.

Not sure how long he'd have to wait, K'tir propped his feet up on the corner of R'nya's desk and settled in with his naughty book.

Xyreith heard the welcoming bellow of the watch dragon to the new arrival, and looked up from where he was sunning himself on the ledge. Xyreith had decided Aradissicath was in a sour mood, so he’d decided to leave her to her apparent irritation alone. There was only so much a bronze dragon could handle, after all, and Xyreith had enough. It had not helped that the two mini-mes were in the mood to climb on him and put their grubby little fingers up his nose. Honestly, that was the main reason he’d retreated to a ledge on a sheer cliff where the children couldn’t get near him. It was peaceful and he was enjoying the sun.

Seeing Ghaeth, however, told Xyreith he was going to be getting a lot more entertainment in the very near future, and he rumbled in amusement to himself as he watched the younger dragon float down to land and let his rider off. Xyreith watched, until the brownrider vanished into the Weyr and he turned his attention to watching Ghaeth go and entertain himself.

What’re you up to?
Sunning, Xyreith answered honestly, and he felt R’nya’s dry amusement at his response.
I can feel your amusement.
That must be nice for you, Xyreith quipped, peering through R’nya’s eyes to see what the man was up to. Playing dollies with his offspring, apparently; his rider was sprawled on his stomach on the floor, chin resting in one hand, which was propping him up, while he obediently moved the doll in his other hand as commanded by his bossy daughters. Xyreith snorted and shook his great head. You have an important visitor, he added.
Of course I do, R’nya sighed, and Xyreith was both highly amused, and slightly alarmed, by how upset he sounded at his game of dolls being interrupted. Can Jajojin deal with it?
No. The dragon could feel R’nya rolling his eyes as he passed the doll to Rhaedalyn and hauled himself to his feet with an apologetic look. Kissing mate and offspring on the tops of each of their heads, R’nya made his way out of the Weyr and the lazy day he had been enjoying, to stride towards his office.

There is no rush, Xyreith input in amusement.
The sooner this is dealt with, the sooner I can go back to my family, his rider pointed out reasonably, and Xyreith snorted, wondering not for the first time why R’nya was so obsessed with his offspring. His mate, Xyreith understood, he enjoyed spending time with Aradissicath as much as he was currently avoiding her, but he never took any particular interest in their hatchlings once they’d been Impressed. Maybe that was why R’nya was still so obsessed with his little ones. They were very slow at the whole Impression thing, these humans.

Feeling that R’nya was almost to his office, Xyreith turned his attention fully back to his rider, peering through his eyes in anticipation as the bronzerider reached his office door and saw it ajar. Making the correct assumption that his guest was already inside, R’nya pushed the door open and took two steps in. Xyreith had to work extremely hard not to crow with his amusement as his rider stared at the image of K’tir with his boots up on his desk and a book in hand.

“You are not important!” R’nya exclaimed, and Xyreith finally failed at hiding his amusement and the hilarity he was feeding cascaded into R’nya’s mind. Xyreith could feel his rider scowling but his own enjoyment was too high to be bothered by the trouble he’d likely caused for both himself and K’tir.

K’tir looked up from his book, startled at the outburst. He hadn’t heard the bronzerider enter but he certainly heard his words and they not only caught him off guard but took him a moment to wonder why he was or was not important and how to reply to that. “Well,” he folded down the corner of the page he was on and shut the book, setting it on R’nya’s desk, “Ghaeth might argue with you over that fact.” Not that his dragon was paying him much attention right then. He had found one of his friends and was absorbed in whatever game it was they were playing.

“I guess I should thank the human or dragon that thought I was important enough to fetch you, though,” K’tir assumed that had to be what the outburst was from since he hadn’t sent anyone off to fetch the Weyrleader for an important or urgent visit. Someone, likely a dragon – a bronze one specifically, likely spotted his arrival and watched where he went and alerted R’nya. Oh well. It got the man back in his office and set him in such a fine mood to boot.

K’tir got to his feet and took a few steps toward R’nya, putting on a show of carefully examining the man for signs of injury or illness. “Glad to see you’re okay, though. You never replied to my letter so I had to make sure my favourite bronzerider was well. I worried you were ill or chained to your desk slaving away to paperwork and in dire need of fun and food.”

R’nya frowned at K’tir, his expression irritated as the brownrider turned to him and pointed out that his dragon would object. R’nya was irritated because apparently Xyreith agreed with the brown and that was not a good thing. He could feel Xyreith’s amusement, the bronze still cackling to himself about a well-played prank, and R’nya quickly decided the bronze needed to be punished. Easier said than done, of course, because the first thing that came to mind was refusal to oil his itchy spots, but that was actually dangerous so couldn’t be used. He would think of something – something that wouldn’t impact his, R’nya’s, life. Something.

The frown didn’t fade in the slightest as K’tir moved towards him, and R’nya crossed his arms over his chest and stared at the brownrider in irritation. Between K’tir and Xyreith, R’nya knew he wasn’t going to get any peace any time soon and all he wanted to do was go back to his weyr, and spend time with his girls; it wasn’t like he got free time all that often, and then free time that meshed with Rhaedalyn’s free time was even more rare! And here this obnoxious brownrider was interrupting it and Xyreith was being an enabler. As K’tir spoke, R’nya gave him a flat look.

“I never reply to your letters,” That wasn’t completely true; he had replied to a couple of K’tir’s letters, but that was because he’d received them when he was with Rhaedalyn and allowed her to open them. She thought it was sweet and insisted he answer them, and who was R’nya to say no to Rhaedalyn? “and Rhaedalyn has that covered, thank you. Was there anything else?” The clear dismissal was expected to be ignored, but R’nya still stared at the other man flatly as he waited pointedly for K’tir to leave so he could go back to enjoying his life.

That’s dramatic.
Shut up, you.

“Oh, she’s teaching you manners as well. Watch out, R’nya, no one’s going to recognise you soon,” of course that wasn’t true in any way. R’nya stood out too much, especially now that he was Weyrleader. But he also had known what manners were and would use polite words when needed. But to say them to a lowly brownrider? Now that was something rather new. The emphasis wasn’t lost on K’tir either and he just smiled at the irritation his presence was causing the bronzerider.

Was there anything else? Not really. It was a shame to let the visit end already but K’tir was satisfied. He saw R’nya and got to prod him a little. They had a fun friendship even if they didn’t really interact all that much and when they did, one of them always seemed annoyed and wishing he was anywhere else on the planet. With a sigh and a slight frown, K’tir shook his head, “no, I guess that’s it. I’ve seen for myself that you’re well and still full of your usual zest. I expect a letter or a visit from you in the near future, though. I’ll pop in again otherwise.”

K’tir turned to grab his bag and debated leaving his raunchy book behind. It’d be fun to receive a letter from R’nya expressing his anger over a certain book being spotted by his mate or an important visitor and having them assume it belonged to the Weyrleader. Unfortunately, it was a fun read and he was curious about how it’d end after the antics of the main character and scooped it up to stuff it back in his bag.

Given he had the height advantage on R’nya, K’tir swung back around and quickly leaned in to place a quick peck to the man’s cheek. With a chuckle, K’tir strode out of the office with a wave over his head. “See you around, R’nya!”

R’nya frowned; he had manners! Better manners, certainly, than the brownrider who had had his feet upon someone else’s desk and was clearly taunting him. R’nya knew he shouldn’t react, but the man really was infuriating! He could feel Xyreith’s amusement in the back of his mind, and it really did take too much concentration to ignore the trouble making dragon. Why was thinking up a punishment for the beast so difficult?

“Joyful,” R’nya drawled, giving K’tir a flat look at the man stood up and sighed with such dramatics. He didn’t miss the brownrider’s hesitation when it came to keeping his book to himself, and R’nya raised an eyebrow at the man with a slightly amused look on his face. Obviously the book was something that would cause some type of mayhem if it were left behind, which intrigued R’nya; whatever was K’tir up to this time? R’nya shook his head just barely as K’tir put the book in his bag. By the time his unexpected guest was standing tall once more, R’nya’s face was blank if slightly flat.

R’nya rolled his eyes heavenward when K’tir placed a kiss on his cheek before waltzing out of the office with a call back. R’nya waited a few moments – he had to make sure K’tir wasn’t nearby – and then he laughed softly, shaking his head to himself in honest amusement. Running his hand over his head, fingers brushing his hair back, R’nya turned and strode out of his office, closing the door behind him and making his way back towards his weyr, chuckling softly to himself in amusement a couple of times before he made it back to Rhaedalyn and their girls.

His mate’s comment that he wasn’t gone for long was met with a dry smirk, and a response that indicated Xyreith was full of shit, and definitely going to regret his teasing in the near future. But of course, not in any such words that would be repeated by little girls who were getting far too good at parroting their parents!
