It was early. Far too early to be stirring in Vee's mind, but there she was, restless in bed beside K'ton, again. She tried to remain still and force herself to go back to sleep, but she kept wanting to toss and turn instead. She didn't want to wake K'ton any more than she already might have so she slipped out of bed and went to clean up and dress for the day. She had already woken him with her restlessness the last two nights and had, more or less, not been herself lately. She'd been through just about every mood a woman had, and maybe a few new ones. Why the man put up with her she didn't know.

It was still dark outside when she finished dressing, which was annoying for some reason. She walked to the edge of the weyr where Nadioth and Ironth lay curled up beside each other. Nadioth's toes flexing every so often, causing the faintest of scraping of claw on stone. Faint though it might have been, it was still ear piercing at the least. Vee made a face then moved away from the slumbering dragons to stand on the weyr ledge. She was greeted by the night sky, which glittered with blinking stars and a few thin clouds wafted by, semi-hiding those stars it covered only to reveal them again a moment later.

The weyr was still and quiet, far more calm than she felt, and she had no idea why. She wasn't pregnant, that much she knew, so the restless feeling of a need for something puzzled her. She yawned and backed away from the ledge and turned, only to find a large glowing eye, blue and purple, tinged with yellow, staring at her. Why do you stir? You bother me. Her tone was irritated, though no more than usual of late. Vee stared at her dragon's whirling eye a moment then shrugged. I don't know. The answer seemed to irritate her dragon further as she snorted out a heavy breath through her nostrils in her rider's direction, causing her to flinch and glare at the gold. Well stop., was all she said before closing her eye again, effectively dismissing and cutting her rider off in, quite literally, the blink of an eye.

"Well excuuuuuse me.", Vee muttered under her breath as she turned to walk away, her feelings a little bruised. She wanted to lay back down, she wanted to go back to sleep. She was still tired but had no desire to disturb K'ton. Frustrated, she slipped on a simple pair of shoes and left the weyr as quietly as possible, thinking a walk might solve her troubles.

A half candle mark later she was headed back toward her weyr when a couple of drudges came around a corner and startled the shells out of her. She snapped at them far more harshly than she ought to have, which prompted excessive apologies and laying the blame on her lack of sleep. Flame-faced she had retreated quickly, the sound of whispers and giggles following her up the steps.

Back in the safety of her weyr, she found K'ton awake and glows uncovered, apparently, her absence had been enough to wake him. Oops. The sky was finally getting lighter near the horizon, though it was still too early to truly call it dawn. She found herself in K'ton arms quickly enough, just a hug was enough to make her feel a better, though she still felt off. She had just given him smack for his trying to drag her back into bed when Nadioth's roar filled the weyr, stopping them both in their tracks. There was a responding snarl from Ironth, who'd been backed into the corner by the much larger gold dragon. Teeth bared, angry orange and red eyes whirled wildly as her tail lashed back and forth against the floor.

Nadioth! Enough! Vee's command gave the gold pause, it was not often that her rider used such a tone with her, so when she did she listened. She took a step back from the brown, eyes on the human that was her life mate, pale hide seeming to glitter, even in the pale light of the glows. Ironth had carefully moved to soothe her but was rewarded with mild consideration, then a hiss before she took two steps away and launched herself out of the weyr, soaring away with a deep rooted intent on her mind.

Then it hit her. Slowly, but it was there. A rolling need..a desire that wasn't overwhelming, but it was there and growing at a startling rate. "Oh no....", voice a soft whisper traced with a rapidly growing panic as she suddenly clung to K'ton. Oh yes. Today we fly., Nadioth answered with a growl as she dropped heavily on a herd beast, ripping its head from the body, causing a wild spray of blood to color the ground in front of her. Fingers curled into K'ton' tunic and she licked her lips as Nadioth started chewing on the herd beast. It took about 10 seconds for her to snap out of the daze. No! Blood only! Nadioth snarled at her in her head but didn't respond.

Vee narrowed her eyes and a battle of willful stubbornness against strong determination took place silently. It was long moments before Vee won out against her strong-willed dragon. Having won she turned to K'ton and out of nowhere pulled him in for a passion fueled kiss before she snapped out of it and shoved him away as she felt the waves of lust roll through her. "Get out..get them out." The, 'Them', she was referring to was Mizeath and Thallayth, but she knew he would understand. He'd been through more gold flights than she had, but she knew that other golds might follow Nadioth into the air and no one wanted that. Let them try she hissed as she took down another herd beast, ripping into it with razor-sharp teeth. Blood only! I heard you the first time, Nadioth snapped back at her.

Once she had gotten rid of K'ton, for the time being, she sent Digger away to be with Selene and stood there trembling in the middle of her weyr. She had always known this day would come, but how had she missed the signs. Another wave of lust and hunger rolled through her as Nadioth flung the carcass away from her then took another, draining it nearly dry, before her rider stepped in. Enough! No more or you won't fly at all! Watch me, little one!, she hissed at her rider, more than ready to fly. She turned from the herd, bound forward a couple times then spread her wings wide, pulling her bulk into the air with ease and issued a bellow of lust filled challenge that echoed through the barely stirring weyr. Vee was nearly knocked to her knees with the weight of the lust that made every fiber of her being tingle with need. She panicked slightly. Mostly because she didn't want anyone near her but K'ton, she didn't want anyone to touch her but him, but as much as she loved him and Ironth, she knew it wasn't her choice that mattered.

Only the best for us, my beloved., she said in a moment of sympathy for her human's feeling. Best fly fast and far then This amused the gold, who assured her rider she had just that intention, then the moment was gone just that quick and as she rose swiftly over the weyr she called out to her would be suitors. She roared her challenge again, calling every bronze and brown to her, the blues would come, but they mattered not to her. Vee lost herself in her dragon's lust, the link between them so strong she could almost feel the wind on her face as they rose into the pre dawn sky.

S’igi was blissfully asleep and would have stayed that away for several more hours if it wasn’t for the warmth of Kovith brushing against his mind, trying to push through the dream and haze of sleep. Unless the bed is on fire, go away, Kovith. S’igi wasn’t really a morning person and liked even less being woken up. The fact that his dragon, his mate of far too many turns, was doing so was odd but not enough to truly pull the man from his warm bed that already had an extra fur on it thanks to winter settling into Telgar.

Close. A messenger comes from Ista to inform all interested parties that Nadioth of Vaeyla is finally taking to the sky. S’igi was close to snapping that he didn’t care when it registered that was a gold pair his dragon was talking about. That was enough to clear his mind but still he didn’t move from under his furs. If he recalled correctly, Vaeyla was mated to a brownrider, meaning the man did have a chance of winning, especially if there weren’t many to challenge him. That could prove to be fun in itself. It wasn’t like he was looking for a mate but it’d be fun to be part of some head games and Kovith was due a win in a proper flight. The occasional green flight that they both agreed on was nice but a great bronze beast deserved a great golden gift at times as well.

Finally S’igi propelled himself out from bed and quickly tossed on some clothing that he hoped wouldn’t stay on for long. He wouldn’t bother to do more than loose pants if he lived in the same Weyr. As it was, the trip between might freeze his dick off if he didn’t dress properly first. Boots were slipped on but not laced soon after the riding leathers were on. S’igi then made quick work of gearing up Kovith and within minutes of the final tug of a strap, they were blinking out from Telgar to land in the blissfully warm Ista region.

S’igi was already growing confident of their chances and Nadioth hadn’t even taken to the sky yet. Kovith hated the cold as much as he did and his dragon found himself getting sluggish in such climates. The blast of warmth and lust would do wonders to wake him up and propel him to first.

Kovith’s feet were barely on the ground before S’igi started to feel the bronze’s lust growing within him. They were definitely in for a golden flight given the pull and allure they were feeling. S’igi quickly dismounted and even managed to focus long enough to pull off the gear that would either be in the way or even end up damaged in the event of a win. The gear was chucked aside, his riding jacket soon joining the pile.

Once Nadioth took off, S’igi nearly lost his balance from the force of desire coming from Kovith and the other dragons that all jumped to follow their golden prize. Now the fun began. Flights were always a rush and S’igi loved the natural high that came with them as much as he enjoyed their minds blurring together to the point that he wasn’t sure if he was the one on the ground or the one in the air.

You deserve her, Kovith. Give it your all. Hold nothing back!

The dream took a dramatic shift, and dream-N’mor frowned as he suddenly found the whole situation so… not him. The bed was soft, the faceless companion was warm and he could feel hands gliding over his skin. His body’s response was natural, but as much as he was irked by that, he was more irked by Rhezalth’s voice slipping in unwanted, and finally rousing his young rider. N’mor rubbed his hand over his face, brushing the lengthening strands back and sighed as he stared up at the ceiling. I didn’t think you’d still be upset by that type of thing, he thought dryly, turning his eye towards the direction his dragon was in. I’m not. Rhezalth’s tone was just as dry, but N’mor could sense something else lingering in the tone. Nadioth is going to Fly, he announced, and N’mor realised the ‘something else’ was his young dragon’s lust. N’mor groaned, and sat up.

“Really, Rhea?” He asked, pulling on a pair of pants and flicking his hair out of his face again. “You know her rider is mated, right?” To a brown’s rider, Rhezalth snorted, standing up but lowering a shoulder so N’mor could climb aboard. They didn’t bother with straps, since N’mor knew he’d just be dumped in Vaeyla’s weyr before his dragon glided down to the other waiting bronze and browns. A gold deserves a bronze, the young dragon said firmly, and N’mor rolled his eyes, but didn’t disagree. He just wasn’t really thrilled with the idea of losing his virginity to Vaeyla. At least if Rhezalth won, neither rider would be aware and besides, how difficult could it be? N’mor would have pinched the bridge of his nose, but he was rather occupied with using his hand to steady himself again Rhealth so he didn’t fall.

The bronze landed on the edge of the weyr where they knew Nadioth’s rider was located – greens were good for something – and N’mor slipped off his dragon easily, giving the eager beast a slap of encouragement before N’mor made his way into the weyr proper, looking around with curiosity while he still could. This was Rhezalth’s first chase, and while he didn’t really think the bronze would win, he was interested to see what the experience would be like. He’d grown up with a greenrider father, so he had rather a lot of second-hand knowledge of that side of things from overhearing his father and other greenriders talking. He didn’t really know much outside of what he was taught in lessons when it came to his own side of things. So long as no one pushed him off the weyr ledge, though, N’mor figured it couldn’t all be too bad.

Good luck, Rhea! N’mor sent his dragon, rather tongue-in-cheek as he found his way into the main room where Vaeyla was located. N’mor took note of the other dragonriders with vague curiosity before Rhezalth’s lust began to really take hold, the bronze dragon answering Nadioth’s roar with one of his own, wings extended before he took off after the great gold dragon, eyes on the prize. N’mor faltered slightly, overwhelmed by the way he could feel not only Rhezalth’s emotions but his physical experiences too; the wind, the power of his wings, the way the other bronze and browns were crowding around. N’mor grinned wolfishly.

An’tell came to consciousness with the familiar brush of Erinath’s mind on his, today an insistent push that he arise immediately.

’What is it?’ He asked his dragon sleepily, blearily trying to recall if they had any pressing activities that day he’d forgotten about.

Nadioth’s Rising. The bronze said simply, increasing the sense of urgency he was projecting to his rider. It took An’tell a few seconds of blinking sleepily to remember which dragon that was, who rode her, and the fact that she was at Ista, which meant he actually had to get properly dressed in full gear in order to get there.

’Are you actually planning on trying to win this time, or is it just some early morning exercise?’ An’tell asked, weariness in his tone.

I haven’t decided yet. Erinath said, and An’tell could sense the indignant head toss that accompanied it. So get up and stop ruining any chance I have if I do want to win.

It didn’t take long for An’tell to get dressed and ready to go, putting only the bare minimum riding straps he could safely get away with in place. Erinath chased enough that he’d figured out the best configuration and could fasten them on in his sleep, which was really very convenient for early morning Flights like this.

An’tell had barely formed the image of Ista Weyr in his mind before they were between and only seconds more till they were gliding down into the bowl of the Weyr. Soon, Erinath’s riding straps were off and a smirking greenrider offered to give An’tell a lift to Vaeyla’s weyr, which he accepted. He’d gotten over the embarrassment of Flights turns ago, thankfully. He wondered if Erinath had chased so much for that exact purpose. Thoughts for future times, he decided as he disembarked in the correct place to join the other hopefuls and here-because-my-dragon-wants-to-be-heres. An uncharacteristic grin broke over An’tell’s face, consumed as he was with Erinath’s cheerful excitement.

’Have fun, Erinath. He said, as the great bronze stretched his wings and roared his participation to the world.

It wasn't long before they came. Dropped off by green riders or pushing through the door of hers and K'ton's weyr. She could hear the commotion in the hall as other riders and weyrfolk woke to the sound of dragons roaring and the feelings of lust making its way through every and anyone in the way. It was all secondary background noise, minimal and unimportant in the background.

They were all that mattered. Those who came to court, to woo, to chase. Those who came to claim and win her, to win them. These were the only men and dragons that mattered, those who were strong enough to keep up with them. Nadioth climbed higher into the air, bursting through low, misty clouds as the sun continued to rise, bringing it's warm light to the sky she claimed as her own. Her graceful, long wings pumped with energy and determination as she stretched them wide to propel herself further away from the weyr, further from her would be captors. None would claim her before she was ready, and she had only just begun this flight, this game of strength and will, of lust and wanting. She was free in the sky. Free from rules and propriety, free from any expectations except that she would fly and choose one who would sire her clutch, but even that was not in the forefront of her mind. She growled as she continued to rise into the air, higher and faster, pushing herself, testing her limits and the limits of those who thought they deserved the right to claim her.

High above the land, Nadioth had started to circle back toward the weyr, showing no signs of tiring. Turning was not her strongest ability, regardless of how she tried or how much adrenaline she had that was coursing through her massive body, so the turn had been wide, unlike flexible little greens, and it slowed her down some. A brown had thought to cut her off as she came out of that wide turn, trying to be sneaky, trying to catch her quickly. Nadioth roared in outrage at the insolence of said dragon and banked hard to the left, lashing out with her front claws, making contact only briefly as her claws raked across the browns face, green ichor spraying into the air as she winged away. Fool! Begone! You are unworthy!, she snarled in rage as she beat her wings with vigor to gain speed again, only to fold her wings suddenly, sending herself into a nose dive. She let herself freefall for several dozen feet only to then spread her wings wide to catch an updraft that carried her higher again, soaring past several for dragons who were all late for the chase. She raced back across the weyrbowl then angled out toward the ocean, roaring her lust filled rage to the sky.

Within the weyr Vee had started circling the men who were in her weyr, studying them, seeing who among them might be worthy, though it was not her choice, she and Nadioth were of the same mind. Only the best would do. She knew them all, of course, but then again, there were very few riders she did not know in some way, even if only by name. The first few faces her dark eyes settled on, however, she knew them best. Tall, handsome, all bronze riders of course. Then there was the boy. Shorter than the others, curly hair and an innocent face. He was young, cute, barely old enough, but age mattered little. She passed by him, giving him a coy smile, fingers trailing over his cheek as she swiftly moved away out of his reach, only weave in and out of the other bronzeriders, flirting, teasing, as her dragon did the same far above her. Who among them would be strong enough, determined enough to suit them? She watched them all, with that teasing smile on her face, a slight twist to her hips and she moved about the room as if she were the hunter and they the prey. A rider reached out to touch her and she whirled on him, her left hand cracking across his face almost at the same time her dragon had damaged another in the air.

She said nothing but moved away, keeping her distance from the men in her weyr. There weren't enough of them, they needed more of a challenge, they deserved to have all of them. It was then that she noticed that her rider was not among the men in her weyr. Where was he? Where was K'ton? Nadioth growled her displeasure as she caught her rider's disappointment and upset over the missing brownrider for she too expected the brown to come when she called. How dare he not come for her as she demanded? She growled into the passing wind and started another turn, far ahead of those who were chasing her. Having turned she headed back toward the weyr, straight at her pursuers, nearly into the claws of an eager bronze before folding her wings again and dropping low over the oceans surface, the tips of her wings slapping the surface before she pulled her body up into the air again, the rising sun shining off her body, making her gleam as she raced toward the weyr again, her roar of challenge echoing off the trees again as she flew.

Kovith followed his golden beauty along the wild path that she forged, dipping when she did, turning on a dime as she tried to lose her pursuers, and trying to outwit her with trying a small short cut here and there. He didn’t want to get too risqué with his moves as he had a good lead on a majority of his competition and didn’t want those close to him to edge by. Overall, he enjoyed the chase for what it was; showing off his skills and his stamina as he didn’t waver with each passing beat of their wings.

S’igi, however, played a different game on the ground. He left the physical prowess to his dragon while he played the mind games. He had learned early on that being aggressive on his end didn’t help win the Flight and only served to end up with a slapped face or even nails clawing across his skin. Instead, he watched others make that mistake and smirked when Vaeyla rewarded the idiot with a smack to the face just before his vision flickered to Kovith’s to see a bronze take an injury of some sort.

S’igi leaned back against the wall, close enough that Vaeyla would see him but not think him an immediate threat. He watched the way she stalked around the room, clearly showing she was in charge and they were there for her amusement and devouring when she saw fit. His gaze was hot and intent as they wandered along Vaeyla’s impressive form. It was a shame she had fallen for a brownrider and stayed loyal to him as he would have enjoyed taking her for a ride. With any luck, he’d find out soon. When the goldrider glanced in his direction, S’igi quirked a brow at her and once more gave her an appreciative once over.

Kovith saw his opening when a bronze took a swipe across his side and fell back. Nadioth seemed momentarily distracted with her triumph over another suiter and said suiters were hanging back a bit more now. Kovith took his chance then and with a kick of stamina he was holding in reserve, he shot forward, aiming to grapple and enjoy the tumble together.

They couldn’t think of when they’d heard of a virgin bronze winning a gold flight, be it her maiden flight or otherwise. IT must have happened in the past, at some point, but N’mor didn’t know when and he’d never heard storied of it. Young bronze and brown and blue usually won the more delicate green beauties not the wild and wily forms of the golden beauties. Not that N’mor didn’t have faith in his wonderful dragon’s worth or abilities, but he couldn’t think of when it had last happened. Would it happen now? He smiled, secure and as wrapped up in the chase as his beast – they were worthy, more worthy than many (Any!) of their competition. Their youth and vitality would be so much better for a strong and worthy clutch. Surely Nadioth could see that!

Rhezalth hadn’t been expecting the Flight to be so challenging; he’d watched other Flights before, gold and green, though he’d never felt inclined to partake before this bright morning. But he was still surprised by the way Nadioth controlled the group, the way she dipped and dove, rose above the clouds and turned this way and that. The way she reprimanded those who sought to catch her before her time, and the way other beasts fell out of the running – unworthy creatures that they were! Rhezalth didn’t bother to voice his opinions when there were roars and grunts released, but kept his breath for more important things, like filling his lungs to fuel his wings and control his speed and movement.

His self control was tested, however, when Rhezalth felt the group dynamic change; Nadioth was distracted for a moment and several of his fellow competitors decided to take advantage of that fact. Rhezalth bellowed his fury, and ploughed his way through the group, tucking his wings in and clawing at a brown dragon who tried to get past him. He could feel the ichor staining his claws as he twisted and made his own launching grab for the beautiful gold that had lead them all on such a wonderful chase, aware of the press of other bronze and brown around him, but focused solely on his prize. Surely she would know only he was worthy!

Considering Erinath’s record when it came to Flights, An’tell had learned that it was more important to make sure he was near another loser or flight moth he didn’t mind falling in bed with than it was to try to push himself close to the target of the Flight. While the effects of flight lust sometimes made conscious actions difficult, An’tell had enough experience with it that he could have enough control over his body’s actions to accomplish that much. Show enough intent and interest in the person you were chasing, keep them happy they were the center of attention, and then snag someone decent once it became clear Erinath wasn’t going to take home a win today.

And honestly, An’tell had just started assuming they weren’t going to win. In the dozens of flights they’d participated in over the past few turns, his great, flirty bronze had only won once. And that had only been a win because the green had made a sharp turn to avoid a blue and flown directly into Erinath, who’d reacted instinctively and caught her. He’d admitted that he hadn’t truly been planning to catch her and had simply reacted, and at that point, it would have been embarrassing if he hadn’t caught her. An’tell wondered if his dragon was a little more of a romantic then the beast liked to let on, and was saving his wins for someone he actually cared about. If that was the case, it didn’t stop Erinath joining Flights every chance he got.

This morning didn’t feel different than one of their usual flights. Erinath joyously chased, enjoying the effort it took and the chance to show off his skill. He teased the other hopefuls, crowding their space, pretending to fall back before speeding up again, jeering at those who fell behind or dropped out. Erinath let Nadioth lead him around, reveling in being part of the chase. He could feel the moment some of the other bronzes saw a chance to grab their glorious queen, and Erinath took the opportunity to power his way higher into the air, positioned to snatch the gold when she darted away from the others. If someone caught her before she escaped, well, that’s just how these things went. Erinath was here to play, and with his next movements planned he watched the action below him unfold, ready to react to the fallout.

Vee continued to circle the men in her weyr as Nadioth lead her suitors on a twisting, turning flight. Her weyr was full of men that she did and did not recognize, but she wasn't truly seeing them regardless, not as she normally would. Except for K'ton. Her eyes had found him the moment he had arrived in her weyr, their weyr. He was hers, but he would have to earn her like all the rest, and she teased him with a smile and a touch before weaving her way through those gathered again. Searching, toying, waiting. They followed her with their eyes, and occasionally with their bodies, as their dragons tried to follow Nadioth through the air on her erratic flight through the morning sky.

She had led them across the weyr, out over the hold and back, then out over the ocean waves and again, back over the weyr. Somewhere along the way several other bronze and brown dragons, including Ironth...finally, joined the chase and were doing their best to outfly her, and those who had not dropped out of the chase from the start.

Nadioth was quite pleased to have so many dedicated males chasing her, as they should. Her hide shone brightly in the sun, even as pale as it was in comparison to some of the other golds. Her wings beat steadily, but she was waning in energy and knew she would need to choose or be stolen from the skies by some tricky male. She growled at that as she flew higher, her last remaining energy used to pull her bulk as high into the air as she could before she leveled out and pumped her wings with a ferocity that spoke of volumes. She did not want to give in to those who chased her, she was impressed with them, yes, but she wanted to fly until the very last dragon was ready to drop from the sky for her, but she could not.

A bronze came at her from the side, thinking to take her for himself. She roared and twisted her body, rolling in the air as the talons of her front feet raked out, green ichor spraying against her gold hide, as she sent him reeling away, screaming in pain, the rider echoing that pain through the weyr where Vaeyla was now singled out by a small handful of those who were left. Several had already left to lick their wounds, seeking out warm bodies of willing flight moths or other riders who had been too close.

Nadioth grew weary, her strength was failing but still she fought with the wind to elude her chasers, her tail lashing out to accidentally connect with the face of another dragon who came too close, who she did not want, before she folded her wings, finally allowing the dragon of her choosing to catch her, maybe just to spite those who tried to catch her before she was ready, maybe because even in the air, manners meant something to the feisty gold.

Below the flying dragons, the bright sun warmed the weyr where Vee found herself pulled into the warm embrace of the rider who's dragon had finally won her, Nadioth.

(winner has been PM'd xD )
(Also...please feel free to claim any of the mentioned injuries. xD )
