For the most part, R’vi was content to stay in Ista. Since his brother had Impressed well before him, he had to learn how to be alone. It had always been the two of them up against everything and everyone else. They had friends and were beyond popular but Nyvian was always beside him during it all. Impression hadn’t really changed either of them but they Impressed to different colours and it made for new relations and expectations. He had even been told by older riders that he should let Nyvian further spread his wings and live in a different Weyr to continue to grow as an individual and potentially one day be a Weyrleader. Having not wanted to be the reason any of his brother’s dreams be denied to him, R’vi had chosen another Weyr, making it seem like he longed for the heat of Katila and wanted to explore what was their birth home of Ista Weyr.
Still, he made visits to Telgar and Fort to visit friends and his twin when duties allowed and today was one of those days. He tried not to see Nyvian too regularly, lest he be called a bad influence and get the more responsible Vian in trouble but today he had spent the early afternoon with him and parted with the usual mix of joy and longing. He missed his brother and even sharing a hut with the man but they both had new lives now and R’vi was happy with what he had finally sorted out and who he had become.
He had sort of, accidentally, taken up the mantel R’nd had shed when he fell in love with B’jin and R’vi was starting to be known as the Candi Man. He liked to welcome the Ista Candidates with a smile, small talk, and promises they could find him at any time if they had questions or felt alone. Since he was at Telgar, he had popped in on R’nd for a quick visit as well and heard the older bluerider had been out Searching not too long ago and a new batch of Candidates were settling in. It wasn’t really his place to go and say hi but it also wasn’t forbidden. So long as they weren’t in a lesson and he wasn’t interrupting chores, R’vi didn’t see the harm in making friends.
Making his way to the Candidate housing area, R’vi greeted those he already knew and asked if any of the newbies were around. He was directed to the next room where they knew one of the younger boys was currently hanging out, though they didn’t know what he was up to. With a wave and a word of thanks, R’vi parted ways and headed to the room, giving a light knock and peaking in.
“Hi, you busy?” If the boy said he was, then he’d apologize and head out. If he wasn’t, then the kid was in for a treat; spending time with the sexier and way more fun Vian.
