“Ignore him!” Indivara demanded, when R’vi pouted at Venseth for being blue instead of gold; the dragon was hardly fazed by the comment as his attention had turned to Vydoriath and he was much more interested in paddling over to the other blue so they could converse without the silly human banter getting in the way. Out of sight, out of mind was a wonderful way to work things!
“I think I’d be sick,” Indivara drawled, eyeing R’vi with disgust at the picture he was painting of her mythical gold. “Have you spent time around Rhaedalyn? The woman is insufferable!” Of course, Indivara only thought that because Rhaedalyn was so damned sweet it was sickening; the fact that she’d taken on Varlea without batting an eye only made her that much worse for being too nice. “Did you know she has Varlea ending every sentence with ‘thank you’?” So she might be exaggerating a little, but not by a lot! The child was turning into a mini Rhaedalyn and that in itself was terrifying.
I like her! She’s very sweet and she thinks I’m pretty.
“Rhaedalyn, or Varlea?” Indivara asked, turning to look at her dragon for clarification, but he was busy standing on his back legs and pawing at Vydoriath in what looked like a dragon sized attempt at being playful. Indivara shook her head to herself and let the water take her weight, watching as her toes appeared out of the surface of the water, before looking at R’vi.
“Hey?” A lingering pause as she both waited to be sure she had R’vi’s attention but also to sort out her thoughts before putting them into words. “Does Vydoriath chase much?” The fact that Venseth had yet to chase a green – any green! – yet caused Indivara some concern. She didn’t think he wouldn’t, eventually, but she was aware that he was outside the realm of normal with his apparent lack of interest in the pretty female dragons.
