Indivara turned at the sound of a dragon’s welcoming warble and the cheerful sound of Venseth replying. Sharp eyes quickly spotted the new arrivals and the girl waved happily, laughing brightly when R’vi held up the pie he had brought with him. Good!
“Hello!” She called back, watching as he dumped the pie and stripped down, eyes sparkling with good humour when he stopped disrobing with a pair of shorts still clinging to his hips. Her smirk was wry as she shook her head and made her way into the water. She knew he kept the clothing on for her, even if neither of them would mention it. Indivara would never admit it, but she appreciated the gesture; thinking about what they'd done that one time almost four years ago was still enough to make Indivara squirm uncomfortably and die of silent embarrassment.
Which of course brought to the for front of her mind that Varlea would be four at the end of the Turn, and Rhaedalyn wanted her to be part of the party for the child. Indivara pinched her nose and dropped under the surface of the warm water, attempting to drown her thoughts. She wasn't mothering material, but Rhaedalyn just wouldn't hear of her not being involved in the child's life. The woman could be demanding for someone so universally sweet!
Rising, Indivara managed to suck in a fresh breath just before Venseth glided over her, inches from her head. She watched as he dove into the deeper water, sending lapping waves back at her. Indivara sighed dramatically and looked around suspiciously for R’vi. She didn't trust him as far as she could throw him when it came to water, and was fully prepared to claw him if he made a grab for her.
Venseth rumbled his amusement, watching lazily as Indivara turned in a curious circle. Was he stalking her? Or had he just gone under innocently and not surfaced yet? Indivara's eyes narrowed: he was definitely stalking her.
Always so eager to think the worse of people, aren't you? Indivara shot a dry look at her dragon, but otherwise remained quiet. It was just like him to be no help at all!
