She woke with a smile on her face, body flush and limbs so relaxed she didn't want to move. The dream had been extraordinary and extremely naughty, but she couldn't seem to find the conscious to be embarrassed. Why should you be embarrassed? Mizeath said from her usual perch along the rooftops, It was delightful. Ameris' face did brighten with embarrassment then when Mizeath's words conjured a renewed memory of the man who had been front and center in that dream.

You're not supposed to eves drop, Mizeath! she admonished the gold. And why not? You enjoyed it. I enjoyed that you enjoyed it, so eves dropping is acceptable, Mizeath replied without remorse. You're incorrigible! Ameris laughed as she swung her legs over the side of the bed and stood.

Ameris spent the morning with Rislan and Mizeath playing about the weyr when the change in her dragon began. It was subtle at first, Mizeath's hide brightening and glowing in increments, almost so subtle that Ameris nearly missed the signs. She'd remained amiable throughout the morning playing with Rislan, allowing the child to climb all over her, with Ameris lost in her thoughts.

Ameris, Mizeath began and Ameris started at the low, breathy sound of Mizeath's voice. Her eyes drifted to the dragon and popped wide at the glow that Mizeath's hide had taken. Every shade of gold blazed in that hide and Ameris whispered, "Mizeath." The gold's reddening eyes turned to her rider and her low sultry voice reverberated through her mind, The time is now.

Desperately Ameris reached for Rislan as the gold launched herself into the air to make a quick dive into the beast pens. Running towards the housing building Ameris screeched through clenched teeth and a rolling mind, "Blood, Mizeath! Blood only!" The gold growled in frustration as the will of her rider pressed against her. She was hungry, starving and she wanted meat.

Ameris nearly flung the boy at the waiting crèche woman and shouted for the woman to hurry away. She had to find her room. Could she make it in her mad dash? She hoped so. She could feel the rising lust coating her dragon's mind as Mizeath leapt upon another beast with hunger. BLOOD! Ameris screamed as Mizeath's intent became clear.

Draining the herdbeast with a defiant shriek, Mizeath dropped the creature and flung herself into the sky just as Ameris finally made it to her rooms. The woman shuddered with the intensity of Mizeath as the link surrounded her, drowning the woman out and replacing it with dragon. They screamed their challenge to the bronzes and browns of the weyr and the bright hide of Mizeath shone like the sun as she streaked into the sky.

Xyreith had been distracted all morning, to the point where he had not even put any time or effort into annoying Aradissicath – something he usually went well out of his way to do. He was antsy, with his wings ruffling at intervals and his tail tip twitching regularly. He’d refused to say what had him so worked up, which had left R’nya about as close to being a proddy greenrider as the dignified bronzerider was ever liable to be. A scowl had claimed the man’s features and his lips were pressed into a flat line, irritated glances being thrown at Xyreith regularly as R’nya tried to figure out a regime for his new wing.

Lunchtime was approaching, when Xyreith finally stood up, and stalked several steps before turning sitting, staring at Aradissicath, tail twitching and eyes hot with indecision. He stood up suddenly once more, and turned, flicking a wing outward before his attention was well and truly snatched away from his own internal debate. A rumble started low in his throat and rolled up and out as Mizeath shot to the pens and R’nya’s head lifting almost gave the bronzerider whiplash as Ameris’ screeching was heard.

Xyreith threw a last, wary, look at Aradissicath (though he would, of course, later claim it had been smug and assured) before leaping into the air; the bronze flew low and fast over the heads of the people going about their daily chores while R’nya flailed with great indignity to stand up, and put aside his things. His hands were covered in ink and he needed to put the sheets of paper away and Xyreith’s lust was making the edges of his vision blurry and unsteady. R’nya stumbled and leaned against the building, taking a deep breath and nodding when Rhaedalyn said something. He had a feeling that look on her face was not a positive thing, and the man was not keen on looking to see what Aradissicath made of the event.

Shaking his head, R’nya tried to clear his vision enough to set his feet in motion in the right direction: he had to find Ameris! Xyreith’s lust was hot and strong as the bronze landed outside the pens, waiting for Mizeath to lead them to the sky, but R’nya could feel the hesitation and the leery anticipation of the tantrum Aradissicath would be too proud to throw but Xyreith would learn all about. R’nya would have been terribly amused by the fact that his great, big hulking bronze was frightened of being in the bad books of the gold, but he was too busy shoving aside some idiot brownrider; why the fuck was everyone blocking the faranth be damned hallway?!

“MOVE!” R’nya’s voice was low and dangerous, the word chipped, as he gave a bluerider – what the fuck did a bluerider think they were doing, giving chase? – out of the way and promptly found the damned way blocked again. For the love of all things lost between! Xyreith gave a roar of fury at the blue in question, snarling threateningly, before taking off, slightly delayed, after Mizeath as the gold shot into the sky, the great bronze angling powerfully to regain the slight disadvantage he’d already put himself at.

Ooooh! Ghaeth's excitement was distracting in itself but the additional exclamations were driving K'tir to drink. He did his best to tune out the silly dragon but Ghaeth was close to earning fruit being tossed at him in an effort to quiet him. Just when he was reaching his wit's end, the dragon's emotions changed to that of lust and K'tir froze where he sat in the sun near the new gathering square eating fruit for an early midday meal. He turned slowly to stare at the dragon dancing from foot to foot.

Another baby gold is flying! Well, she's eating right now but she's about to fly! I'm chasing. The playful nature of the dragon drained away wit the statement he was going to try for the gold. Ghaeth levelled a look on K'tir that the man read clear enough; it was a challenge to try and stop him. K'tir sighed and trembled from the lust coursing through his veins and nodded. You deserve a gold. Get her, Ghaeth!

K'tir got to his feet, his meal forgotten, and moved in the direction of the goldrider. It wasn't until Ghaeth had Mizeath in sight that K'tir even knew who he was lusting after. Ameris. She was pretty and in a way her appearance reminded him of Alerae. While they never had anything serious, their tumbles together were pleasant. With that new idea in mind, K'tir sent encouragement to Ghaeth as he stumbled along, only to be shoved aside by an arrogant bronzerider a moment later. Some people had no manners! It didn't matter that he would have done the same thing if their positions were reversed.

With a growl that echoed in the sky as Ghaeth took off in pursuit, K'tir lost himself in the flight and all thoughts shifted to winning.

The morning had been fairly uneventful for N'kal, though he seemed to be distracted for whatever reason, as was Torath. The bronze was laid out as usual in the sun, but rather than dozing as he usually did, he had been well aware of every, and any, thing that went on around him. He was only vaguely aware of the fact he was being climbed on so intent he was on something, though he wasn't sure what.

N'kal was seated nearby on a tree stump, and had been for some time now. He had mended a couple of tunics earlier, and was now working on repairs to his riding straps. He was enjoying the fact that no one was bothering him for this that or the other. He enjoyed being by himself, where he could just focus on doing something that needed to be done. Though it was seeming to take next to forever to get through his current task. He had been at this for Turns, but for whatever reason, he was just not quite as focused as he prided himself to be.

Torath lifted his head and rumbled deeply in his chest as he watched Mizeath take off for the herdbeasts. He lifted his head and his eyes started to swirl wildly, shifting from blues ad purples, to yellows and oranges. Another deep rumble had the mothers of the children climbing on his paws and tail racing to catch hold of them and get them away from what they knew was about to happen. She rises...., Torath's smooth voice rolle dover his riders mind, in that slow way it always had. Okalinath is not rising..., the bronzerider answered, lifting a brow at his dragon from across the way, wondering what had got into him, not thinking that there were several other gold dragons in the weyr still. He had not bothered to chase anyone but Okalinath since her first flight, so it initially did not hit N'kal, until the first wave of lust rolled over him.

Mizeath....she rises, answered in a tone that clearly said he was annoyed with his rider. He stood as the last of the children were carried away and hurried to the creche, away from him and the rest of the males that were stirring to chase the maiden gold. No..., he answered firmly and Torath growled as he fanned his wings out. Dark eyes watched bronze dragon as the two battled a power of wills over the flight lust that surged through the dragon, filtering into the man. He had not flown anyone but Okalinath, N'kal was in the routine of waking beside Kahleena, they had even managed to fall into some kind of friendship, nothing more, but at least the awkwardness was gone. He liked that, it was some sense of normalcy in this world of late. NO!, he demanded again even as the waves of lust coming from h is red eyed dragon chipped away at his resolve.

Torath felt that chip in his rider's resolve and simply answered, Yes..., and launched himself into the sky. Powerful wings hauled him up quickly enough and he took off after Xyreith and Ghaeth. Both formidable competition, but he gave a bellow and ignored them. He knew what he wanted, what he needed, and would get it, he would have Mizeath. On the ground N'kal groaned at his dragon and reached a final time to try and pull his dragon back, but all he did was open himself up to the crashing waves of lust that made him want nothing but to find Ameris. Moments later he was seeking the dark haired young woman out as Torath roared in response to the golden pair's screaming challenge.

He was following the trail of other men that were also seeking Ameris. He shoved past a couple of younger men and continued his way with a growl that echoed Torath's when the bronze snapped at a blue dragon that got too close to him, and then again at a brown he was going past. He was surly with lust and no one would get in their way to claim the gold that rightfully belonged to them.

There was never a question of whether Iparth would join Mizeath's suitors. He had no attachments to hinder him and the part of his mind where G'baro lived reminded him that catching a maiden gold was far easier than trying to pry a more wily and experienced one away from a preferred mate. His own instincts and his rider's urgings had had him chasing every gold he'd felt able to, even when it had meant he'd drop from the sky long before the first brown tired.

The bronze had never let those failures get to him, aided by his own poor memory and G'baro's insistence that his flying was improving all the time, but now they fell away completely. There was only the lovely, shining siren Mizeath and her challenge ringing out, and Iparth was helpless not to follow as they (and her other suitors, but who was counting?) flung themselves into the air. Lust had him in a sure grip, but laughter sang back along the bond to his rider too.
A fine day for a chase!

Crazy bronze. G'baro retorted fondly, starting to relax into that blurred state where he/Iparth/ran/flew after the most desirable woman/dragon they'd ever seen. The fact that every flight subject fit the description was irrelevant- it felt just as true every time. When he found the other men gathering, he claimed a spot toward the back and planted his feet. He'd defend his ground if pushed, but there was no need to jostle for position- the lesser men would give it to him as their dragons dropped out, as was only right. His job was to support Iparth and trust his beast to get the job done for the both of them.

Her body trembled and a fine sheen of sweat had begun to coat her body with the force of Mizeath's lust. No matter how many times Ameris shook her head to clear it it was consumed by the dragon in the air. She couldn't stop the widening of her eyes or the near panic that started when she glimpsed the men who had begun to surround the door, some making it through and those mostly bronzeriders. The fear was ridiculous. She knew flights. Knew how they worked and knew what was to be expected but she still couldn't stop that niggle as it crept in. Her breath shuddered out as R'nya's shout rang out. The thought of the bronze pair calmed her nerves and she could feel herself begin to relax. The sight of N'kal was strange but welcomed as Mizeath once more poured through her mind.

Far above the weyr the gold gave her suitors a merry chase. Her overly long body gave her an edge over them and she took full advantage of it as she slipped past Ghaeth to spin between Xyreith and Torath to dart even higher. Her great wings beat the wind and Mizeath was flush with lust and exhilaration for the chase. Many had come to see her maiden rise and she took a moment to preen at the thought. Bronzes, browns and even a few blues. Had the situation been something a little less intense and a little more soft, she might have felt a moments amusement that they dared think they could catch her! But they chased and she flew and only the thought of going higher and higher to find that perfect match kept that amusement at bay.

They had no thought of teasing, none of the fanciful nature of the greens that regularly flew. For them there was only the strongest and fastest of the pack that strained to catch them. A blue dropped out and Mizeath screeched as she thrust herself higher. The blue was shortly followed by a brown. Still she shot higher into the air. A merry chase indeed. There were hides and thoughts that she should know but didn't and she would think on that later but for now, Mizeath pumped her wings and roared to the gathered males once more.

Ameris gasped at the renewed vigor, lost in her dragon as her eyes trailed along the harsh faces before her. Which would Mizeath pick? The stoic and noble R'nya with his trickster of a dragon? Or the one who loved children so much he allowed them to mob him? Perhaps the unknown, Iparth? A dragon and rider pair they'd never had a chance to meet before now. Would Ameris wake beside a stranger come the end of the flight? So much chance was left to a flight. So much unknown. It was a wonder the woman didn't cringe in fear. But she stood strong, gripped in the lust of her gold as they flung themselves higher and higher.

Flights were full of uncertainties. Would anyone be injured? Who would win? What would happen to the losers? One thing that was certain for this flight, however, was that Ghaeth would not be the one to stand proudly beside Mizeath on the Sands for an exciting Hatching months from now.

The blue was easily avoided when he lost momentum and left the chase to a disappointed and frustrated snarl from the rider below. It was everyone else that caused the problem. Gold flights were always rough and far more competitive than that of greens but maiden flights seemed to be downright cutthroat and even with the lusty determination flowing through him, the sweet and child-like brown dragon always had trouble keeping pace in that regard. He did his best by using his size and turns of practice chasing greens but Ghaeth could still at times get caught up in a move by a competitor he wasn’t expecting.

A bronze moved in front of him to cut off any attempts Ghaeth may have had which was fine; they were early into the flight and chances always opened up. It only took a keen eye to know when to make the move before anyone else did. Unfortunately, his focus was too intense on the shimmering hide of the gold that led them across the sky. Another dragon – bronze K’tir suspected – came up close to their side and, without warning or provocation, moved into Ghaeth’s wing space, doing his best to perform the dragon version of a body check. It worked, sending Ghaeth off kilter and dropping down out of the mass of bodies that moved as one behind Mizeath before he righted himself and glided along, far more slowly than he had currently been moving.

K’tir stumbled on the ground; the shock of being hit by another dragon bouncing through their tight bond made it feel like he had actually been slammed himself. He caught himself on the shoulder of a fellow rider that brushed him off and K’tir had to focus the rage from beating up the man for daring to treat him in such a way into that of determination to enter back into the chase.

It was clear they were out of it and only a miracle that involved dragons crashing or Mizeath dropping on top of him would land them the win but Ghaeth and K’tir were determined. They wouldn’t fall out of it like the pathetic blues but continue on despite the odds that showed they wouldn’t even have a chance at brushing against her tail.

Xyreith snarled, lips curling and teeth showing; he snapped viciously at a blue, sending the little creature spiralling near out of control and out of the contest. On the ground, R’nya threw a punch, fist landing roughly on the bluerider’s cheek and sending the man spilling to the ground much like his dragon. Xyreith’s vicious nature in flights heavily affected R’nya, turning the normally mellow man into a vicious creature who knew no limits. He barely paid his bruised knuckles a spare thought, shoving his way through the thong of people to get closer to the door through which he knew Ameris was lingering; it was a subconscious thought, for nothing of R’nya was left under the heavy lust of Xyreith.

Mizeath's gold form was followed, but Xyreith was easily distracted; his desire for the young gold heavily wrought by his deep feelings of trouble that would result from Aradissicath, whether he won or lost. With his mind twisted between the two gold, it was no wonder that the other dragons easily battered around the no-less-vicious creature. He snapped and harried at his fellow contestants, made more furious every time his mind wandered or any time another dragon sought to insist they were better, more worthy, of Mizeath. None were more worthy than he; none! Xyreith hissed at another bronze, snarling as the beast cut him off and the great dragon had to alter his flight pattern to keep himself a loft. He lost a lot of distance, and his eyes glowed eerily with his fury as he twisted himself around, watching the maiden gold and quickly setting out to regain the distance he had lost.

It was not to be, though, as Xyreith set his sights once more on Mizeath, only to see another make that lucky lunge at the young gold. The bronze gave a shriek of fury, outraged that he had been cheated of the weyrling; lip curled viciously, Xyreith swung around, slashing with wild fury at a dragon that passed too close to him, snarling deep in teh back of his throat as his claws sunk into hide - blue, brown, bronze - it mattered not. Trembling with rage and need, Xyreith slowly made his way back towards the ground, heading home before changing his mind; swinging around, Xyreith flew out towards the lake. A cold bath too cool his blood and wash away the horror of losing would be well worth it.

On the ground, Xyreith's outrage was echoed by R'nya, though his was voiced only by a low, nasty snarl in the back of his throat. Echoing Xyreith's vicious attack, R'nya reached out both wildly and blindly, shoving his forearm harshly across the collarbone of a man - any man; he did not even know if it were the rider of the dragon Xyreith assaulted - R'nya drove him backwards, and then shoved him up against the nearest wall. With his right forearm pressed tightly across the brownrider's collarbone, his lips claimed the other's, backed up by teeth quick to bite and nip while his left hand jerked his new companion's pants free of his hips.

Driven by the lust and outrage of a bronze who lost, R'nya was completely unaware of the rather centralised location he'd chosen: the hallway directly outside the room Ameris had claimed.

[OOC: Basically Xyreith partook in the flight until the very end, and then R'nya got demanding. IDK when Jenn plans to wrap up the flight; I just wanted to excuse Xyreith while also maintaining that he was there until the end <3]

Power, force, determination. That was the combined feelings that raged through the lust filled minds and bodies of the bronze pair. They battled through the sky, wings beating fiercely, with lust fueled strength that rolled through the bulk of the rider below. There were many men circling Ameris as their dragons did their best to chase, and catch Mizeath, none of them were worthy. Oh, there were a couple of bronze dragons that they supposed could be worthy, but Torath would not even consider it. He was the best, he had to be, and Mizeath deserved the best. There was the fleeting thought of Okalinath in the back of the bronze's mind, would she be upset with him? For flying another? It was possible, but it did little to deter the large beast from continuing the chase.

The great beast was terribly amused by the young gold's antics, as she darted between himself and Xyreith. He gave a bellow and beat his wings harder, giving the gold the chase, the flight she wanted. Up through the sky, higher and higher he chased her, until so few of the males left were any bother to him. The blues would never have lasted, the browns weren't worthy and likely would drop soon, if they hadn't already. It was only for a bronze to catch this queen, and there were plenty enough of them left climbing through the sky that he did not count himself lucky yet.

Below somewhere was N'kal, moving through the mass of men in the room. He shoved past a lingering blue who had tried to latch onto his arm, elbowed another brownrider and continued to watch Ameris with lust filled eyes. He shouldn't be there, he should have taken Torath away, he should have controlled his dragon's raging lust, but instead his dragon was controlling him. He circled in closer, there were so few of them left, one rider dropped back, and another, in the skies Torath was wing to wing with the last remaining dragons. He pushed himself higher after the golden hide that teased them, taunted them, dared them to chase her.

Another bronze changed directions, challenged Torath's place in the air behind Mizeath, claws swiped out and caught him in the shoulder. His own claws raked out as N'kal's fist landed against someones face. In the next moment, Torath caught sight of another bronze moving in for the catch, he couldn't allow that without a fight, so they moved in unison, making a move for the gold, the woman, as another did the same.

Iparth felt the strain on his muscles, but had no intention of giving up this chase before the bitter end. Because that was part of being a bronze too- pushing to the limit and willing to do anything it took to get the job done, regardless of personal cost. He snarled as another male tried to claw at him, accepting the strike as the price of slipping into the other's airspace and forcing his rival to divert. He crowed as he saw the male fall away, but the glorious gold reclaimed his attention before too long.

A distant part of G'baro was pleased to see their strategy working. Their progress was rarely dramatic, aside from the odd shove or incoming fist, but slowly and surely they threaded their way through the pack toward their prize. His dragon may not yet be completely back to his old form, but experience still told in a flight. Those who never should have been there fell away and the worthy pressed close. His face felt hot (and the shiner he'd find on his right eye would definitely surprise him later), but so did the rest of him. The bronzerider eyed his remaining rivals and urged his beast on.

Iparth rumbled and pulled what strength and speed remained from his body. The flight would end soon, instinct told him, and there was no saving anything for later. Later was now, and he recklessly threw everything he could into one last lunge at the golden beauty.

Her heart beat hard and fast, Mizeath's eyse whirled with the rapid reds and blue they had taken and her long, serpentine body twisted and spun with her flight. She was beginning to tire, her breath harsh as she faltered slightly with another shriek. She would remember this flight, as Ameris did with a mixture of joy and triumph until the end of their days. She flew on, her concentration now on the end and it was nearly there.

She didn't notice the browns and blues that dropped out, she didn't notice the bickering behind her as she hurled her great golden body further into the sky, such was her concentration. A concentration that was shattered when she felt the sharp edge of Iparth's talon in her tail. With a roar she sought to escape, shooting her body sideways and into the well played paws of another. She bellowed her rage at being caught so finely as Torath wrapped neck and tail around her. Ichor from both dragons mixing and mingling as they tumbled towards the ground, Mizeath's rage forgotten as they fell.

Everyone forgotten, Ameris' dark eyes focused slightly, landing on the man who's dragon had wrapped her own in a hold as old as time. She fell into N'kal's arms as the full power of their dragons dragged them under and the world exploded. The others, their lust unfulfilled, went unnoticed from the room.
