R'nd is collecting those in the Barracks. Larrikith's voice came smoothly almost from no where and B'jin startled, turning to look at her as he tore his eyes from the mess of building and lump of dragon across the Gather Square. Watching the great bronze beast destroy the building had been awe-inspiring and terrifying all at once. B'jin had no idea what it meant as far as D'ren was concerned, but he knew it couldn't possibly be good.

Where was Tsereni? Where were his own children? If Amorandii was in there-! Krypth's has her, and Andi is in Creche, Larrikith soothed even as B'jin's terror charged off in a whole new direction, though the greenrider's trembling body didn't move. Indamor brings her to the Dining Hall. Ayyonth and R'nd will bring the other Candidates. Larrikith had always had more of a head for chaos than B'jin, who had a tendency to freeze up or freak out.

The greenrider wasn't given long to linger in either his fast fear or the sudden relief that his children were safe and that Tsereni was in safe hands; the soft voice of one of his candidates caused the greenrider to turn, hand raising to slick still wet hair out of his face. Did he know what was going on? No, he had no idea what so ever, but B'jin didn't think that would be a very intelligent thing to tell one of his students. Instead, the greenrider nodded slightly. "Check the bath-house for your fellows," B'jin said, speaking lowly but calmly. "Bluerider R'nd is collecting those back in the Barracks. Bring them to the Dining Hall, okay? I'll get those from Craft and Weyrfolk Halls and meet you there. Can you do that?" B'jin waited for an affirmative from the quiet young man before throwing himself atop Larrikith and letting the tiny green flicker between, reappearing between the two Halls.

A moment later, B'jin was herding a group of confused Candidates, both his children, and an assortment of Weyrfolk back to the Dining Hall. Larrikith flickered over head, keeping an eye on everyone and occasionally communicating with R'nd, Ayyonth or Talian. Firelizards were a flittering annoyance to the green dragon, but she didn't comment on them. B'jin ushered his group into the Dining Hall, calling the candidates over to where he was and running through a mental list, frowning impatiently when he realised the numbers that were missing. Firelizards squawking did little to impress the twitchy 'Master as he had Larrikitih check in with Ayyonth; hoping the bluerider had the rest of his class - excluding Talian, and those others invested in the Healing Hall. They had other things to attend to!

They come, Larrikith informed B'jin lowly, as he picked up Amorandii, holding the girl half to reassure her, and partly to reassure himself while Indamor sat at his feet, leaning against his father's legs.

R’nd was much like B’jin in that he worked well under pressure if given a goal or distraction. Having thought about the Candidates being so close to the nearly feral dragon spurred the bluerider into action and sent him back inside the Barracks to find anyone still within. There had been an urge to try for the Healing Hall but he knew that he wouldn’t end up being of any help. There would be plenty of people within the building already and as soon as Ronarth started clawing the structure, they would have moved to the other end. No doubt other riders had already begun to move in from other directions to offer further assistance anyway. The Candidates wouldn’t be the foremost thought for most of the weyr, as sad as it was to think but R’nd could put a name to a face of all of them and had claimed casual acquaintances with most as well. While he didn’t necessarily think Ronarth would rampage, he did worry someone might end up in the crossfire all the same.

He made his way down the halls, ducking into every room to make sure no one was hiding just out of sight of a quick glance within. He found some huddled under blankets on their bed, one girl he thought he would have to carry from the hall as she was frozen with fear but her roommate came to help her out, and others left him baffled as they tried to pack before leaving. “This is just a precaution. You don’t need to pack up. Everything will be fine,” he urged over and over with instructions to go to the front door and wait. He didn’t want them going outside and seeing Ronarth, though that was almost silly of him given he found the majority of the rooms empty with everyone glued to the windows that looked out towards the Healing Hall. It took a bit of urging and Larrikith was treated with several mental sighs of frustration over Candidates that didn’t want to lose their comfortable front row seats but with the threat of getting Weyrlingmaster B’jin to find topics to write essays on, they finally moved.

When he was certain everyone within had been gathered, R’nd led them outside, again threatening anyone who looked to the left at Ronarth would be punished. Ayyonth took up the rear, helping to keep everyone moving and followed R’nd’s instructions not to look as well. He had watched the entire scene as R’nd and B’jin worked on their self-assigned tasks and while at first he had been afraid of what he saw, Ayyonth now felt an understanding and sorrow. He hadn’t been much better when R’nd had been hurt in that brawl and he knew if it had been worse, it wouldn’t have been pretty. But the sight of the proud bronze that was also his sire now injured from his attack on the building was much to absorb. He silently urged R’nd to keep his eyes ahead both as an example to the Candidates but also because his sensitive rider couldn’t handle the sight of a wounded dragon right then.

By the time they reached the Dining Hall, R’nd had a girl clinging to both sides and everyone else had crowded in a bit closer, with everyone asking questions about D’ren or random topics to keep their minds occupied with other thoughts. Ayyonth naturally remained outside and moved to sit with Larrikith, giving her a lick to the cheek in greeting and then a comforting nuzzle. It was a strange evening but even with the horror happening on the other side of the Square there was one good thing that came out of it, I’m proud of the way R’nd responded and jumped to make sure people were safe. Is B’jin still fairing well?

When his gaze swept over the crowd within, R’nd sighed with relief when he saw B’jin and his group. He led everyone over to join up with their classmates and friends and disentangled himself from the girls, promising them yet again everything was fine before cautiously approaching B’jin. He had almost missed Indamor at his lover’s feet and that kid was enough to keep R’nd at bay and on his best behaviour for life with those eyes of his but he instead made slow and calculated steps towards the man he found he really wanted to hold in his arms.

However, instead of B’jin, he suddenly had Amorandii in his arms as the girl threw herself from one man to the other and clung with all the might of a child; which was surprisingly quite a bit. “Hey, Amorandii. How was crèche today?” He knew the girl hated going but she did love to tell stories and R’nd figured that would help distract her from everything else. As he tried to shift the girl to hold her a bit more comfortably, R’nd finally caught B’jin’s eye and managed a faint smile for the relief he was to see the older man was fine.

Seijin listened to B’jin replie glad he though to speak to him since he had saw him. Seijin listened to the instructions. “ Yes, Sir right away. “ He promised to look quickly and  thoroughly for anyone in the bathing house specially if someone might be hiding from the noise.  Seijin was frightened himself  but now that he had direction and a purpose he was more easier. He at least wasn’t floundering around.  He watched B’jin hop on the green after he confirmed that he could completed what he was directed to do.

He hurried to the baths checking everywhere . He didn’t want to miss anyone in his search.  He grabbed anyone he found and directed them to the dining hall to meet the others. He walked into the dinning hall with the ones he had found in the bathing house not that many stayed behind there after the noise most he heard had run out to their rooms  so he knew that someone else was going for them. So he went back quickly to the dinning hall  and reported to B’jin that he completed his search.

He looked about the dinning hall. Everyone looked confused and bewildered. He noticed there were children there as well. He knew that they must be the most scared and bewildered of them all. But children were resilient . He looked up at R’nd and B’jin.  Would you like a few of us to take the little ones  over to the side to play some games and entertain them?” He asked softly. He wasn’t sure but he figured they might wanna talk without the little ears present.

Rhaedalyn didn’t have any idea what was going on. There was a very angry dragon screeching aloud but also in her head. That alone was enough to cause the young woman to panic since she had only ever had a couple of dragons quietly enter her mind so to have one screaming bloody murder with enough conviction that she felt like she was the one about to be swallowed whole scared the daylight out of her. From her spot at the table in the Dining Hall, she watched as riders seemed distracted by dealing with their dragons who must have been just as scared as she was and everyone else just seem to be in panic mode. There were whisperings that the Weyrleader was dying! That couldn’t be true, he was old, that was a truth no one could argue, but he seemed healthy and well-liked. Even she had come to like the man and the decisions he made! Well, most. The rule about having to have a child before Impressing didn’t sit well with her but that was because she was waiting for her one true love to sweep her off her feet. Anyway, it didn’t seem possible, but the chaos couldn’t be for any other reason.

The fact that she had the little firelizard that should have been Mevrit’s but her friend didn’t want it so the blue Impressed to her, was panicking in circles above her head wasn’t helping any. Her adorable Muffin – so named after quite the lengthy process of elimination – was flying just out of reach and the short girl was bouncing on her tippy toes to reach him, calling for the flit to come down and relax. It was hard to tell him that when she herself was panicked but she did notice some of the older riders didn’t seem too bothered by the commotion. S’kef didn’t seem bothered at all. She didn’t know too much about him and wasn’t sure if he would be okay with a girl approaching him for advice and information. She worried her lower lip as she watched the brownrider with his mate and finally decided to leave him alone. The glance J’ver sent her also sent a shiver down her spine and Rhaedalyn couldn’t decide if he would even allow her near S’kef anyway.

“Muffin!” Rhaedalyn called again, running around a table now as the firelizard decided he was now calming down but playing chase was a fun game. It helped her as well, since she wasn’t thinking about Ronarth or the Weyrleader but when her classmates started to pour into the Hall along with B’jin, everything came back to her. Finally either Muffin grew bored or was in a kind mood, the firelizard landed on the table and Rhaedalyn scooped him up, hugging him tight to her chest. At least he liked cuddling! That was good; she needed cuddles right then as she weaved her way through the crowd to the greenrider and his handsome mate. It had taken time to get used to homosexual lovers but when she looked at B’jin and R’nd, how could anyone deny them love and happiness? She was an easy convert from Hold to Weyr life and Rhaedalyn almost blushed at the intrusion she was making and the gaze R’nd turned on her. Why was he so hot?!

“Weyrlingmaster B’jin! Everything’s going to be okay, right?” Hazel eyes widened and were round with fear but also hope. Everything had to be okay! Rhaedalyn wasn’t sure she could handle another dragon’s passing and D’ren was their leader!

With a grumpy Jazzpur in her arms, Jazz headed out after the the appointed Weyrlingmaster, B'jin, if she remembered correctly. With a soft grumble, she rubbed at her eyes. Jazzpur was teething like a monster and thus she had been up most fo the night with the grumpy angelic looking child. Nuzzling her baby, she propped him on her hip and headed over, igonring the candidate she didn't recognise, who in her eyes was playing kiss ass.

"So whats today's fun activity?" She asked, unable to withhold the slightly grumpy tone from her voice as her free hand rubbing at her eyes in annoyance. Which in turn earnt a dribbling, red cheeked Jazzpur to gnaw on her knuckle.

Panic. Most if not ALL of Katila had erupted into panic as their weyrleaders bronze dragon, Ronarth, attacked the healer hall. The mental assault Ronarth dealt the weyr left Nejerc stumbling under the sudden screech. He had been completely unaware of the impending events. As was his usual Nejerc had been deep in how own thoughts as he walked from the baths just freshly cleaned when he saw Ronarth landing in the gathering square. However he'd thought nothing of it and turned to walk toward his room in the candidate barracks. He hadn't made it two steps before he was stepping back against the bath house wall to support himself.

His gaze had swung to the bronze as he punched a hole in the healer hall but at the same time.. Nejerc looked away closing his eyes to take a deep breath and steady himself. He needed to get his head, and he needed to move. He glanced around quickly taking note of the dragons flying about and the people moving in groups. When he noticed that a large group from the barracks was being moved with a dragon escort he followed pursuit even as a man hurried past him into the baths. He recognized him as Seijin.

When Seijin gave him instructions to go to the dining hall he didn't hesitate or look back at the big bronze dragon, his first glimpse was disturbing enough. He covered the distance quickly making a quick trot but not running, no running would probably cause more panic and that the weyr did not need.

He entered the hall and looked around he made no move to join the thick mass of people even as he caught just a glimpse of B'jin in it. Instead he slid around the edges watching the people. He himself was tense, having a raging dragon nearby that could cover the distance to them in the blink of an eye did that to some. Though it was more of the fact that Ronarth was known for being a gentle bronze that was probably upsetting many of the others.

Heaving a deep breath trying to relax some of the tension in him as he noticed many of the children he moved toward B'jin and those around him. He dodged around some and made it close to B'jin just in time to hear Seijin who had moved to the dining hall as well probably after checking the baths for others. As Seijin offered to distract the little ones Nejerc's gaze dropped to the closest child currently wrapped around a leg he smiled slightly and looked at B'jin and R'nd to see what they would say was to be done.

Aparicus was not sure if it was a blessing or a curse when her little Cinnamon started spitting and hissing at the window, wings half spread and looking for the world ready to fight whatever was upsetting him outside.  If that hadn’t been enough to make her pale, the bronze voice that broadcasted afterwards was enough to make her drop the jar of seeds she’d been holding to shatter on the floor as she quickly covered her ears with a wince of pain – of course, it didn’t help at all.

The last thing she wanted to do was hurry to the window to see what on earth was going on, no she’d much rather run in the opposite direction of that angry, upset voice that made her head pound.  But there was Cinnamon, nearly as upset as the voice in her head, spitting and sputtering and screeching himself.  She was picking up on mixed emotions from the voice in her head as well as the little thing at the window.  Fear, Distrust, Anger…  It was everything she could do to grab a hand towel and move to the window to bundle up Cinnamon so that she could drag him away from the view without him clawing at her, not that he’d ever done such a thing – she’d also never seen him so upset.

“Shhh….”  She said, trying to hush him, though at the window she found her heart stopped and her breath held short as the Weyrleader’s own great bronze dragon tore a hole through the healer’s hall.  “By the Shell…”  She breathed, her eyes wide as she hastily backed up.  Why was the dragon attacking?  But dragon’s didn’t attack people!  Did they?  The thought of the damage they could do as baby’s on the hatching sands paled in comparison to what that great beast would be able to do to a person if he actually managed to pull one from the destruction he was causing.

It was the sound of B’jin’s voice through the door as he gathered the candidate’s from the Craft Hall that caught her attention.  Certainly at this time being with a group would be safer than being alone… And MUCH safer than being in the healer’s hall!  Hurrying through the door with her upset little firelizard clutched in her arms, she made haste to follow him and his group.

Twice she’d looked back to stare in fear and wonder at the Weyrleader’s bronze until it caused her to actually bump into Nejerc.  Letting out an ‘eep’ of surprise, she quickly backed up again, hugging her lizard closer as she turned her attention to the growing group of people around her.  Goodness, this was as uncomfortable as being alone…  The color had not returned to her face, but as people began asking questions she did her best to actually listen and not stumble away for a more secluded corner.

It was not quite the end of dinner for Jada, Klah and Tsereni. The three of them had left D'ren around midday, Jadaand the firelizard taking the little girl with them to go teach a class at the Craft Hall. And then to go visit Krypth. And watch Krypth's classmates. And sneak an eye at the Candidates for the clutch that Krypth was heavy with. Glorified paper-pusher, Jada was, and apparently becoming quite the competent babysitter. Roles she was becoming accustomed to, as both fit her well. She had always been a teacher, and with Krypth's keen mind at her disposal she was proving to be excellent at organization- with the notable exception of her schedule, which even the Gold dragon was hardly able to help with. There were a few other exceptions as well, in Krypth's opinion, but Jada was pleased with her own progress and proving quite resistant to Krypth's continued efforts to shove her into a forward-facing role. The Gold and her Bonded had two different places they wanted to be right now, and not just in terms of on-sands or off-sands.

So much of the girl's time lately had been spent at his side, watching him work or taking Tsereni off his hands for dinner to give him a break; generally trying to make herself useful. There was no doubt that the fact she spent more time with the Weyrleader than the Weyrwoman was unusual at best, but what was- was. One thing to another, and Jada had somehow been dropped in a role that may have been fairly nontraditional. If it was, though, Jada certainly didn't know, and Krypth oddly wasn't complaining. Her disdain for her sire was tempered by the fact that Jada had come to adore the Weyrleader, even given his multitude of faults, and Krypth was under firm orders not to be the cause of any strife. (Luckily, Krypth had decided, she was egg-heavy, and she had a good excuse to lay on the sands and avoid the company of the slow-minded Bronze.)

Regardless- Jada was wiping Tsereni's dinner off of them both when the screeching started. Followed by a wave of rage so fierce it set Jada's teeth on edge. Food still attached (though being licked off by a hungry Klah) the two darted out of the dining hall, a chubby little girl held tight in protective arms. And there they stood, just outside, taking in the view. Tsereni shrieked in Jada's ear, chubby fists tangled in Jada's loose hair, and the goldrider was hard-pressed to keep from aiding the child in ripping the dark locks from her head. The noise was deafening, the shrieked threats bone-chilling... Krypth's fury was tearing at her, the gravid Queen's indignation at what had happened- was happening- being fed by Jada's concern for the kind Weyrleader.

Jada, come to the Sands. Ronarth is angry and hurt, and I will not have him start tossing bits and pieces of the Hall at people in his temper. Now, the 'slow-minded' and 'tender-hearted' Bronze was anything but, and his anger caused the rotund Gold to stalk the Sands with anxiety of her own. She would much have him calm- his anger wasn't going to do anyone any good. If he took Healer Hall down around D'ren's ears, how would the Healers help him? What are you- Keypth needed her human to come to her now, to ensure that the woman didn't try and push her way in. Now was not one of the times Krypth would approve of Jada being nosy, not when Ronarth was so angry and pained.

Not coming. Tsereni and I will be staying here. Jada stroked her hand along the girl's back, ignoring the way the child wailed in her ear, humming to the little girl and bouncing her gently as she passed to the Gold a picture of the Bronze's condition and the damage done to the Hall. You're perfectly capable of coming to me if you need something. You're not that close to clutching yet. The Harper could feel how disgruntled the decision made her domineering Bonded, and she could feel the Gold's discomfort as she heaved her egg-heavy body off the Sands, moving towards the populace.

Alarm at the Bronze dragon's wounds and concern that Jada would so something stupid (as was her wont) overrode her disdain for her sire on an elemental level. You will stay away from the scene. The younger Gold reached out to Nirinath in query- would the Senior Queen allow Ronarth to go unattended? His body quivered, and Krypth pushed her way towards him, crooning low to the Bronze. And then she lay down next to him, bodies not touching, head up and attentive. I will stay with him then. That obviously had to be Jada's reasoning for not moving- she wanted to be one of the mass keeping vigil with the other panicking crowd. This was something that the Gold dragon could do for her. Will you at the least go back inside now? If Jada went inside, maybe someone would distract her.

Yes. Everyone else seemed to be heading towards the dining hall, anyway. Make sure Nirinath reminds Tsuen I have Tsereni, and she is safe. Jada took a seat, rocking the child, mind anxious and whirling. And find out what you can. Klah clung to her shoulder, squeaking tunelessly to Tsereni, whose wails had turned to hiccuping sobs, snot and tears dripping down her round little face. "Shhhh." Jada murmured, and looked for someone familiar. "You'll get to see daddy soon, Renni."

B'jin's smile was mild, but no less warm than usual as R'nd approached, the greenrider's expression softening despite the clamour and excitement that was radiating about them as candidates gathered together and more than a few tried to speak at the same time, asking questions of their fellows and wondering what was going on. At least Ronarth was quiet, now. B'jin was almost used to the way Ayyonth would occasionally speak to him, but he would still twitch when Veeth took the opportunity. Having the great bronze beast screaming murder had been horrifying. B'jin preferred being deaf to dragon kind.

"Andi." B'jin's voice was low and disproving, as he frowned at the child that had suddenly flung herself from his arms to his lovers and was clinging to the bluerider. She ignored her father in favour of grinning up at R'nd as he asked her questions. B'jin, unwilling to upset Indamor who was leaning against his legs, reached over to tug R'nd closer, arm looping low around the bluerider's waist as he curled against him. A light kiss was placed on the other man's cheek (an action Amorandii immediately echoed) and B'jin turned his attention to Seijin as the young man came up to them.

"That's alright," B'jin murmured, eyes widening slightly at the idea of someone taking his own children away, especially while Ronarth was so upset. Despite the bronze having calmed down for the moment, B'jin wasn't about to let his children so much as away from him, let alone out of his sight! "They're fine. But thank you," that was as sincere as his twitchy possessiveness of his children, and B'jin offered Seijin a small smile.

Ayyonth, Larrikith curled up against the younger dragon, pressing against him as her quivering eased. She nuzzled adoringly at his cheek, eyes turning worriedly to look at Ronarth across the length of the Gather Square. Poor Ronarth! Her tone was soft, and sad, R'nd did very well; B'jin worries for Ronarth's. He is hiding it, he doesn't want the Candidates to worry.

"Rhaedalyn," B'jin replied, gaze shifting to meet the girl's wide eyes. The greenrider straightened up some, so he wasn't quite so visibly pressed against R'nd's side, and offered the girl a tentative smile. "Of course." Well done, Larrikith put in dryly, though encouraging amusement underlay the words, Only R'nd will pick up on lack of sincerity in there.

Are you able to contact Talian, love? What's going on? B'jin's frowning brown eyes shifted once more, watching as S'kef stomped out of the hall and his lips pursed slightly. Trust S'kef to throw himself into it. Tyyrisath is being a prick Larrikith laughed, finding that highly amusing as S'kef started screeching at nothing. Humans were pathetic.

Talian is very busy. Larrikith added. A slight pause as she poked around the edge of Talian's mind, picking up on his thoughts without actively talking to him. He suspects poison... Tansy? Larrikith didn't understand why that made B'jin stiffen up and press heavily against R'nd. B'jin? The greenrider trembled as he tightened his arm around R'nd's waist and ignored the audience in favour of curling against his lover. Picking up on his father's distress, Indamor stood up and cuddled B'jin's other side, frowning.

"Tansy." B'jin whispered to R'nd, though those closest may have heard over the bable of everyone else within the Hall.

R’nd was slightly confused at how openly affectionate B’jin was being in public. Several flights hadn’t exactly left them in discreet locations and their playing with paint in the Square had bordered on being inappropriate as well but B’jin was somewhat reserved typically in such regards. The bluerider was shameless and didn’t mind showing affection to his lover of the moment but with B’jin, all rules seemed to change and R’nd was almost shy by such affection. Then again, it may have simply been Amorandii mimicking her father and giving a kiss of her own. That was shocking and made for a baffled bluerider that looked between father and daughter as he resisted the urge to wipe at his cheek where a little damp spot remained. R’nd didn’t dare look down at Indamor. If the boy was watching him – and he no doubt was; the kid was pretty creepy – he didn’t want to see the immense disapproval within the soul-sucking eyes.

Luckily there seemed to be a hundred questions being tossed around so there was plenty of distraction from B’jin’s clan that always confused him in one way or another. At Seijin’s question about watching the kids, R’nd thought he would laugh; B’jin wouldn’t risk having either of his children out of his sight or out of arm’s reach. In fact, R’nd was surprised that Amorandii hadn’t been pulled back to her father the instant she had left his arms. It was oddly pleasing that that hadn’t happened and that Seijin had been told his baby-sitting services wouldn’t be required. In a way, it showed a massive amount of trust placed in him and R’nd was ridiculously happy about that and finally did give a little smile.

He was still smiling when Rhaedalyn came bouncing up to them. His gaze drifted to the girl and still the smile remained as he watched her blush and suddenly come across as shy. It was a reaction he was used to seeing out of a variety of people over the turns and R’nd’s ego loved it every time though it left him unfazed and without a lick of shock or confusion. He was hot, he knew it, and he knew others knew it as well. Shaking himself out of the wonderful trap that was his ego boosting itself further, R’nd caught the question and the short answer that very clearly was made up on the spot. So R’nd elaborated for his horrible liar of a lover. “What he’s trying to say without so many words is that the Weyrleader is strong and everything will work out as it should.”

The girl seemed to be satisfied and R’nd turned his attention to another Candidate that had a question. He answered that as best as he could before noticing that B’jin wasn’t jumping in. A quick glance showed his lover had that look to him that showed he was talking with a dragon and soon after, B’jin was pressing even closer to him with Indamor jumping up to join in. R’nd was about to ask what was wrong when an answer was given first. Tansy? Why was that being mentioned right then? A light went off in R’nd’s head as he recalled the properties of that plant and knew that was now being labelled as the main suspect for whatever ailed D’ren. “He will correct it.” R’nd replied in hushed tones, keeping Talian’s name out of it to lessen suspicions about what they were whispering about. R’nd didn’t think D’ren would do this to himself, especially if he went to Healing Hall, so that left one obvious and scary conclusion; someone had tried to kill the Weyrleader.

R’nd wrapped an arm around B’jin and held him close to his side. He was pretty sure there was something that could balance out the tansy so all of their bravado had to be based in truth, right? A kiss was given to B’jin’s temple to help comfort them both. If there was a time for alcohol, now truly was starting to look like the perfect opportunity!

Watching the response of B'jin listening closely so he might hear B'jin's response to what was to be done he was slightly surprised that B'jin would rather let the children be exposed to all the highs and lows of the people going on around him rather than allow the children be distracted. Dismissing that as a father likely needing the comfort of his own children he continued to listen for further instructions. When he heard B'jin mutter something he doubted his hearing and was about to speak when someone bumped him from behind. Turning he saw Aparicus taking in her pale face and her clutching the bronze fire lizards in her arms. She looked on the verge of break down and he quickly grasped her shoulders spinning her around and walking her quickly out of the thick of the group.

"Deep breaths. Relax." He was no healer but she need to calm down or she was going to have a panic or attack or something.. Maybe she would faint? Compressing his lips tightly together he watched her having released his hold on her after getting her out of the thick group. She needed air, and a little space so he gave it to her watching with a weary eye. The children and other already fear stricken people in the dining hall did not need to see a woman with a fire lizard have a faint or whatever. His gaze dropped to the bronze wrapped in her arms. Who knew what the little thing would do if she did calm down. "Just calm down, everything will be fine. B'jin has even stated it will be so."

I had permission to relocate Aparicus. >.>

She’d jerked at the feel of Nejerc’s hands closing on her shoulders and her body’s reflex’s took over as she began to quiver and shake in his hands.  What was he doing?!  Where was he taking her?!  Why couldn’t he just tell her where to go?!  Why did he have to touch her?!  He was hurting her!

Okay, so he wasn’t really hurting her, but that was exactly what her mind registered and while she was not strong enough to fight back as he guided her out of the crowd, she had just about found her voice to cry out when those hands left again and his voice told her to breathe and relax, even as he backed up.  Panting, she quivered and shook as she stepped a bit further away from him and pushed her back against the stone wall nearby.

Why did he do that?  Was she in the way?  Why couldn’t he have told her to just move?!  Her mind raced as her breath was short and labored – the little bronze in her arms was picking up on it and mixing it with the confusion already in the air as he hissed and snapped at the man who’d dared to touch her.  Thankfully, however, Aparicus held him tightly for reassurance as much as to control him from flying at the man’s face.

He was right though… and while it took a few minutes for the words to sink in that B’jin had said everything would be okay, they finally did and her heart began to slow as she realized he wasn’t moving to touch her again.

“S-sorry… I just…  C-crowds.”  She said stammering as if any of that would make sense.  Shushing softly to her lizard, she unwrapped one arm from around him to stroke his neck, though she had to quickly return it to hold him close as he tried to climb out of the towel he was wrapped in, still hissing and sputtering at Nejerc.

“I-it’s okay… Shush… I-I think he was helping…”  she murmured softly to the lizard before regarding the man and the crowd around the candidate master once more.  “What’s happening?  I don’t understand…”  Her eyes passed by R’nd and B’jin comforting each other to go through other various couples and eventually catch sight of Jada and the Weyr Leader’s own child in her arms before she finally glanced those wide, worried and scared eyes back to Nejerc who seemed almost collected and calculating.
