Old Promises[ I’shan ]

Seijin had finished repairing I’shan’s jacket and reminded him to come by and  pick it up. He was still working on the new one that he promised  and all the leather was dyed that lovely blue that matched his beautiful dragon’s skin color.  All he had left was to put this one together and make sure that it was well made.  He smiled as he knew that I’shan probably was coming over to see him tonight considering he has been so long without his favorite jacket. He though back to the camping trip still smiling about the eggs that they found and both the ones he had hatched. One a green and the other one a brown. They looked so very precious and especially when they sleep.  Though he did hope that the insatiable hunger they seem to have would  get better as they got older specially when they seemed to get hungry at the same time giving him a double dose of it.

He ran his fingers over the jacket a thrill going threw him at the thought of having I’shan visit again. He blushed softly and stored away the thoughts that ran threw his mind for later. He remembered the quick peck on the cheek that he gave I’shan when he had left his jacket here to be repaired.

He wondered how he felt about that since I’shan didn’t really react to it before he had left.  Seijin didn’t think he was mad at him about it but he couldn’t help but worry and wonder. He put his best efforts in repairing the jacket and  in starting the new one which was almost done as well.  He just had a few more things to do and to get I’shan to try it on and see if it just right before he does the final assembly.

Knock knock

I'shan rapped his knuckled against the door before twisting the knob and letting himself in. He was flippant in his intrusion, but he meant no harm. "Hey!"he piped, smiling as he greeted the younger man. "Sorry I'm a bit late. I had to go take Ishadhe back to his mom."

It was strange, how idly those words came out now. Only six months before, I'shan had been paralyzed in fear of the very concept of claiming the kid as his own. It hadn't become the life-ruining chore that he'd feared and so far he'd had a lot of fun, but he was doing his best not to think of the potential damage it still might cause. N'gelt hadn't been informed yet, and well...it hadn't interfered with his social life yet. For now, it was all fun and games. Time would tell if it would last.

There was another responsibility in the bluerider's life these days. A tiny brown snout poked out from the front of his shirt and let out a soft cheep before fully emerging, revealing the head and slender neck of a brown fire lizard. I'shan giggled and out one hand in front of the little beast, giving him something to climb on. The brown emerged and squeaked a greeting to Seijin,  tiny body quivering in excitement.

"Oh! And um, this is Squee." Boy, if he had a mark for every time people asked about the name. He just smirked and held his hand out. Squee clung tightly to his bonded's hand while extending his neck, sniffing lightly at the young man.

Seijin smiled as he heard the knock on the door. His smile grew bigger as he watched I'shan walk in and apologize for being late. He chuckled softly "Oh its no problem, You could of brought him you know I wouldn't of minded. " He said honestly he had enjoyed it when he had him camping and watching the kid have fun was nice and carefree. Made him think of home but not wishfully just remembering good times he had in his own childhood. When he didn't have a care in the world. He grinned over "unless you had something you wanted to do that he shouldn't be here for that is" He said with a sly wink. He was comfortable around I'shan. He couldn't help but tease softly and be a little flirty. He liked I'shan and as long as he didn't take offense he figured casual flirting would be ok.

Seijin smiled seeing the brown emerge from I'shan shirt.  "Well hello Squee. " He held out his hand as Squee sniffed him. "Did you come to play with Claus and Lana?" The tiny green and brown upon hearing their names came out of hiding and chirped a greeting of their own.  They both flew down around their heads with Lana showing off a little of course.  Lana flexed her wings showing off making sure to get the attention of the two browns in the room. Making sure they saw her beauty. Lana landed on Seijin's shoulder and rubbed against his cheek while Claus perched on the table. " Lana, Claus this is  Squee now you guys play nicely he's a guest. " he reached out and rubbed Lana's head with his fingers.  He knew she liked attention already and hoped it didn't cause trouble with the boys.

"I finished repairing your jacket and am still working on the new jacket. He picked up the new one that he was working on. The color turned out great. I was able to duplicate the swatch of leather perfectly. "

"Oh, nah! But thanks," I'shan said as he stretched his hand out, allowing Squee to flutter to the other fire lizards to play. The bluerider's eyes widened in delight as he watched them, all so adorable and energetic! Squee, too young to yet fall to the seduction of females, opted to land on the table and pounce on his fellow brown. Squee's little cries of delight pried a giggle from I'shan, who really was taken by the simple pleasure the little beasts seemed to get just from living.

"They're so sharding cute!" he said. He smiled wide and shook his head. "....And nah," he said, returning to the topic he'd intended before being distracted by the adorable creatures. "Ishadhe needed to go back to his mom. He'd been out with me all day." And I'shan was glad to be rid of him for a bit. The next part, naturally, made I'shan blush again.

"Oh!" His eyes widened again at mention of the coat. He smiled coyly and walked closer. "It's done? Awesome...Do you mind if I see it?"

"They are very cute and way to energetic course I am sure Claus is glad to have someone else to play with. " He smiled as he saw Squee bounce on Claus and Lana fly over to play with the boys too. He chuckled as Lana tried to get their attention but finally give up and  just play with them instead.

Seijin handed over the coat very happy with how it turned out he did a great job with the mending and the new blue coat was gonna be perfect. As perfect as Seijin believed I'shan to be that is.  " Maybe if you like it well enough and don't have anything pressing to do  maybe we can go grab a bite to eat together." Seijin suggested softly as he watched  I'shan look at the new blue coat as well. " You should try it on and make sure i got the lengths all right. He waited with bated breath he hoped that I'shan liked the coat as much as he did. He knew I'shan would look wonderful in the new coat and couldn't wait to put the finishing touches on it to make it perfect

Squee cheeped a greeting to the little green, even as he lay tangled on the table with Claus. The tiny brown unraveled himself from his fellow brown and pounced for Lana, eyes racing in excitement as he claimed his newest playmate. His excited squeaks filled the air as he pawed at her before taking wing, bolting across the room and vanishing to hide behind the furniture and ambush his new friends.

I'shan was normally enchanted by Squee's antics, but for the moment, he was more enchanted by the coat. He picked it up, looking over it fondly. He hadn't seen in such good condition in a very long time! He'd carried it with him from the north during the plague and did his best to keep it in good shape during exile, but there was only so much he could do. Seeing it restored gave the bluerider a sense of freshness and nostalgia that he badly needed. He smiled.

"Wow...you did an amazing job," he purred as he slipped it on. The fit was perfect. The bluerider turned to Seijin, eyes bright. "I'd love to go get some food with you," he said softly.

Seijin smiled at the three firelizards playing together. It was so nice he knew the green was most likely the same age as I’shan’s brown Squee. And Claus was born a day later.  He wondered how many other’s hatched because he heard there was a few eggs around but doesn’t remember who all got them. Lana rolled with Squee as he pounced on her and Claus hopped from foot to foot looking for a opening to join in.
He turned his eyes back to I’shan again watching him put the coat on. He worked really hard on making it perfect after all he so wanted to impress I’shan with his work at least he could maybe secure more time with the man.
His eyes brightened and he smiled even more when I’shan said he’d love to eat with him. “Thank you, I’m so glad you approve and like the job I did. “ Seijin said softly back to I’shan.  “Course now I am much relieved to know you’ll be warm again when out flying with IIveriath. " Seijin smiled warmly at I'shan.

Squee chittered excitedly, his tiny body trembling with joy.Playmates! He wriggled free of the green and pounced once more at Claus, cheeping ecstatically the whole time. The game continued, with the little brown popping between his two new playmates in an effort to lavish as much attention as possible on each of them.

I'shan let out a little giggle, unsure if the source was his own delight at the repaired coat or a little hint of shared joy from his fire lizard. "He's so HAPPY!" he said, eyes widening with delight as he watched their game. "He's really needy, always pawing for attention...I'm glad he has playmates," he remarked.

Of course, the fire lizards were a sideshow compared to his new jacket. He still couldn't believe his luck in receiving such a service free of charge. "You really did an amazing job," the bluerider assured Seijin once more, unsure if he could emphasize his satisfaction enough. "This was a graduation present from my mother, you see. I..."

He stopped. No need to get into that. A warm smile flashed across his face.

"C'mon, let's go grab something to eat."

We can probably move them to the dining hall now, if you like :) Otherwise we can fade out there.  It's your call, my friend

Seijin smiled back as he listened to the three firelizards playing.  He grinned bigger as he followed  I'shan toward the  dinning hall. " everyone needs freinds to play around with and cut loose. Even firelizards are needing time to play and be happy. "  Seijin looked over at I'shan. " You guys can come over and play anytime. " Seijin winked softly at I'shan.

Moving to the dinning hall. Sounds like a plan.
