"Hopefully everyone's okay in Ista," Cazan managed to whisper softly before giving T'ryn a quick kiss to see him off. Carynza would hopefully be sleepy and settled in for bed with her brother by the time he came home, with Sir or Lady keeping an eye on them so that she could steal some of his focus while she felt a bit needy and terrified. They were trying to have another child in the middle of all of this, and that thought just made her wonder if she was insane for wondering if maybe that was why the attacks were happening. She'd been pregnant with the twins when things started to happen last year. Was she going to lose another eye? I won't let you. That wouldn't make you more of a pirate.
She wished she shared in her dragon's confidence. For now she just gently bounced her daughter before settling down on the couch between Yfris and Kor'is, taking some small comfort as her husband set an arm around her. The Weyrleader only gave Yfris a pointed look before saying something about how he looked forward to receiving Yfris's report in his office later before giving her a nod and bidding her farewell. Cazan gave him a nod in return. "Thank you for stopping by, Weyrleader." She was a bit too rattled to think of anything else to say, and once he was gone she frowned, her shoulders slumping even as she still held and gently cuddled her daughter.
"Is this a good idea? It can't be a good idea to keep trying to have another baby... What if I get attacked and stabbed again? What if he's ready for Sir this time? What if T'ryn or one of you gets hurt?" Cazan didn't want to use the word die, didn't want to tempt fate so directly, didn't want to even think about it as she was already starting to feel emotional just imagining Kor'is getting hurt and Taith's heartbreaking reaction or something happening to remove the free spirited and upbeat smile from Yfris's face. She gently rubbed Carynza's back as the bluerider rolled his eyes and said, "Your dedication to reproducing isn't that important to anyone outside of this weyr and the killer isn't planning his moves based on your cycle."
Cazan couldn't help but snort softly in amusement, gently rubbing her daughter's back. "That... thanks. And sorry for probably being a bit crazy. I'm just tired and worried." At least her daughter also finally seemed to be tired and was starting to drift off. "I'm going to put her to bed, then I want all of the cuddles when I get back until T'ryn gets here okay? And I'll probably need more cuddles then." She leaned over to give Kor'is a quick kiss before getting up to leave Carynza in Sir's vigilant care then went back to just go sprawl and cling as she tried to forget just how worried she was.
