They could run away to Katila! Why hadn’t she thought of it earlier? It was perfect and she could get a brother to bring them. K’dar would do it without much fuss since he seemed big on seeing her happy lately and doing things she never thought he would. But could he keep a secret under pressure? That was the tricky part. And then there was getting Tazikel used to living in a slightly different environment. But if he could survive a shipwreck and live off the land, then he could survive a little community of retired dragonriders. She didn’t mention it, though. It was too real a possibility and Mylorah didn’t want to get her hopes up or crushed depending on his answer.
A slow smile slid back into place at the idea of helping to select Tazikel’s wife. She did have a good eye for women that would be fun and open to sharing with her when it came to the lordling. “I’m sure I’ve met some of them at the parties so I might have an opinion,” she knew a few names she mostly certainly would not recommend. What if one of them did end up as his wife? Mylorah bet she wouldn’t even have Tazikel as a pen pal let alone anything else. She scowled a little at the thought but turned it into a playful thinking face as she thought about good qualities. “Definitely make sure she’s a good dancer. You can tell a lot about a person from the way they move to music. It’s how I made up my mind about you.” She gave him another quick kiss and thought about what else he could look for.
The idea to find someone a little younger so they were curious and willing to experiment made Mylorah angry at herself. She wasn’t going to suggest Tazikel train his wife! But it did give her pause and she wondered if she had done that with Tazikel and Gangleri. At the time, Mylorah thought she was just giving them options and encouraging what lurked behind hesitation but did either of them do things because they thought that’s what she wanted? Maybe she had nudged too hard, especially with Gangleri and she needed to have a talk with him while they had their clothes on to see how awful she had been. With Tazikel, she knew he and Kor’is were attracted to each other and he definitely enjoyed having two women lavish attention on him. Her spoiled knight.
But another talk with him could stem from something he said about sharing. “And… I didn’t want to say too much in a letter but that dinner with Yfris I mentioned? It was one of his parties and one of the ladies there wasn’t betrothed and I can safely say she’s fine with sharing.” Mylorah knew the woman’s name but couldn’t remember her standing at the moment. She likely wasn’t even a contender because that would be too simple a solution.
“But you should maybe accept sometime. With me as your guest, of course. It wasn’t too bad,” she’d been curious about the parties but always told Tazikel to accept if he was comfortable with the idea of an orgy. As far as she knew, he still hadn’t attended one. “Yfris is a surprisingly competent and excellent host. Although my brother said he might change the format sometimes, like only he knows who is attending to add extra mystery or something. So make sure you know which one you’re going to.” She ran her fingers through his curls. “Maybe that one is better given how highly desirable you are and in demand you would be if everyone knew you were in the room.”
