F’drel nodded in acknowledgement, hoping N’lis’ assessment of M’quel’s probable reaction was correct. He’d heard a lot about M’quel over the turns from N’lis and A’tay, but he still hadn’t interacted with her too much himself. It made him hesitant to trust their assessments sometimes, considering how they both felt about her, but he had little data of his own to draw upon to confirm their beliefs, so F’drel stayed perpetually suspicious just in case. Not that he’d ever tell either of them any of it unless it became absolutely necessary, especially not N’lis since he was now dating her.
“The routine is little more than cleaning up,” F’drel said. “You being here doesn’t interfere with that.” F’drel might not invite N’lis to the bath portion of the routine—that might be a bit more than either of them was fully comfortable with—but that was at the end and could be put off until N’lis left easily enough. As long as there was some sort of organizing to do F’drel could shove aside the desire to bathe—it didn’t hurt that N’lis had won, which meant F’drel didn’t feel the same urgent need to scrub a stranger off of him.
He gently prodded Halomirth and had her pass on the message to Edath, to pass on to R’dal. A few moments later she relayed his response.
“R’dal will be here shortly,” he said to N’lis, then settled back down on the bed. “I’m just going to lie here for a bit, I don’t want to move yet. You’re welcome to lie on the bed too, though know that R’dal will most likely want to crawl in for cuddles when he gets here.” Most people knew this was a strong possibility when R’dal was around, but F’drel gave the reminder anyway. N’lis made a sound of acknowledgement, and F’drel heard a shuffling as N’lis gathered and put on some of his clothing, then the creak of the bed as N’lis climbed in, now sufficiently clothed for his comfort. F’drel let N’lis choose how much personal space he wanted, and relaxed into the bed to wait for R’dal to show up.
