V'lia gave a nearly inaudible soft sigh. This was going to be a tough nut to crack. It really was tempting to give in and leave. He clearly didn't want her there and was doing his best to make her leave. She didn't owe him anything and had already made her intentions known that she had been worried about him and was now interested in him so he could stop her if he wanted to. But leaving could also show that she hadn't been serious about knowing him or that perhaps she had an ulterior motive and was giving up on trying because he wasn't willing. She supposed staying could be seen the same way. Some people in the past simply could not understand why she was so determined to befriend them or at least make them smile again after a bad day.
"It's lovely to meet you, Cazelarias," V'lia smiled as she spoke, meaning her words. Sure he was cranky and doing his best to scare her off but it was still nice to meet new people, even in bad circumstances. Sometimes seeing someone at their lowest or their worst was a good test and forging of a bond. But she was admittedly at a loss with how to proceed in this case. It was clear to her that Cazelarias was lonely and feeling either in over his head or maybe left out.
But where to start? Maybe she'd let him start.
"I'm a good listener, even if you just want to yell and rant." V'lia spoke casually, like discussing the weather, and kept her hands in her lap while looking at the wall across from them. Impulse was to touch his arm or leg and give him a little physical comfort but she wasn't sure that was what Cazelarias wanted right then and she didn't want to push him too much.
