743.07.15 | All Fine Here - F'drel - 18.Jul.22

F’drel’s eyes fluttered open. At first he thought he’d been asleep, that he was in his bed and waking up after a weird dream. But after—seconds? Minutes? He couldn’t tell—F’drel realized that couldn’t be right. He was definitely on the floor, the stone cold along his side. Vaguely he felt a sharp pain in his right knee, elbow, and shoulder. Had he fallen? Had he fallen and banged them on the way down? But that didn’t make sense, he hadn’t—

There were people around him, he could hear them speaking and he knew what they weren saying but at the same time none of the words stuck with him. A shrill noise reverberated in his ears—no, in his head, that was Miri, Halomirth was shrieking, Halomirth was upset, what—

Miri, Miri, I’m alright, you can—you can stop, it’s okay— F’drel thought, mostly managing to string words together and shove them at the part of his mind that was Halomirth. It probably wasn’t that comforting, but the relentless noise ceased and instead he was buffeted with concern-comfort-worry-reassurance-fear-love as Halomirth tried to keep from verbalizing her emotions to literally everyone. F’drel tried to send her more soothing thoughts, though it was difficult because more was starting to hurt. Everything about his stomach hurt, his throat hurt, his hands hurt—

At least Miri had stopped shrieking. It left enough space in his head he could begin to focus on what the person crouched down next to his face was saying to him.
