742.07.06 | It's been a day - August - 07.Jul.21

Are you certain he is alright?

"I'm... Sure."

You don't sound sure and he seems a little... Upset? Is that the right word?

"Good enough I suppose," August told the gold as they walked through the barracks in search of Rhamnus. Though Varanuth had informed her that Hispidath had named him Rh'us, it was difficult to think of the man as anything but the name she'd met him with. She would have to get used to it but she had no doubt she would. He didn't seem too excited about Hispidath choosing him, the gold continued with an air of concern in her tone.

"He was just surprised is all," August assured the gold as the sounds of the little bronze not too far, "You be sure to make Hispidath feel welcomed won't you?" The gold looked at her like she was silly, fully intent on making the bronze feel as welcomed as he made her. It was just a matter of like for like and Varanuth was positive Hispidath would be just fine. It helped that August seemed to like the man enough that Varanuth was more curious than anything else and she was bound to encourage August to continue the friendship as long as it made her happy.

August puffed out a breath and rounded the corner to find the healer and his bronze. She studied them a moment before calling out softly. "Rham?" she called, "I came to see how everything is going and to see if you and Hispidath wanted to go oil with Varanuth and me." She knew Rhamnus had been a candidate at some point, however unwilling he'd been, and knew most of the basics of dragon care but it was August's nature to make sure everyone was well.

RE: 742.07.06 | It's been a day - Rh'us - 07.Jul.21

Tired and starving, Rham-Rh'us, the healer was already in a poor mood and shot the bronze a glare even as it climbed up on top of his cot (another reason to be irritated) for a snuggle which was endured with a distasteful wrinkle of his nose. Even fresh out of the shell, Hispidath was longer than the healer was tall, but he managed to squish partially on top and partially around the man with a pleased grumble.

Rha-Rh'us couldn't help but also feel a little soothed by the cuddle, which only made him frown more. This was not supposed to happen. He still had so much work to do! So many things still only half finished and... he needed to get to his lab and make sure things were put away. He sat up at that thought, but the weight of the dragonet across his legs kept him pinned for the moment. You have friends who can put your toys away for you, Hispidath reminded him softly, doing his best to keep his rider from becoming more irritable.

That was a thought. With a quick call to Bitty, he scribbled down a quick letter to Ulliendis, using the bronze's neck as his desk. The handwriting was sloppy, but would do, hopefully the boy would remember what he'd been taught and be able to get things handled for him. "I'm signing it with my name so that Ullie knows who sent it," he grumbled before Hispidath could say anything. Your name is Rh'us though. But I guess he doesn't know that. Add it in at the bottom. With a grumbling "fine" the honorific was added at the bottom and Bitty carried the letter off right as August rounded the corner.

His name is Rh'us, the bronze told her patiently, still unsure why people were being so stubborn about it. "Because it doesn't make sense," Rh'us snapped at his dragon again before turning his glare back to August. He was sure this was probably her fault somehow. He is grumpy. Hi!
