742.02.15 | Innocence in a Diaper - K'ton - 18.Feb.21

She'd left him alone with the child and he was certain something was going to happen. She'd assured him, of course, that nothing would happen but K'ton might have been panicking a little. Didn't she know that she could just have a drudge bring them lunch? Serene would have gone with a note, the green was much better at errands than she used to be or Vaelya could have sent Digger with it. The little bronze was much smarter than his green.

A burble had him spinning around to find his son staring at him.

With blue eyes just like his.

A wet grin and K'ton smiled back, his panic momentarily forgotten as the infant made baby sounds and wiggled on his blanket. Serene was snuggled near, the firelizard quite possessive and protective of the baby, and K'ton moved closer. "Well kid," he said with a nod, "Your mother is officially crazy. Leaving you here alone with me.. I can't even take care of myself much less a kid."

He paced a little before dropping down on Vaelon's level and eyed the boy. "Want to party?" he asked with a laugh that earned him another wet grin and sharp kicks of fat little legs.

You are so ridiculous

RE: 742.02.15 | Innocence in a Diaper - Vaeyla - 22.Feb.21

'I won't be gone long', she had told the gold who had begrudgingly allowed her rider to leave her human hatchling alone with her mate. But males are terrible with hatchlings, Nadioth complained quietly, ner neck draped over Ironth's neck, one gleaming blue eye watching the babe as he burbled and squealed. Both of the human's pets lay near, watching over the baby as she was, although she had to remind them both not to touch him. Their claws were too sharp for his soft skin, he was NOT a firelizard.

'He's not a hatchling, love. He's a baby. Humans are a little different, you know that.', she told Nadioth gently as she entered the kitchens finally and greeted the women there, a couple of them pouting because she did not have her precious son with her. Had the gold been able to roll her eyes as her rider often did, she would have. She did not answer, yet Vaeyla could feel that her dragon was less than amused with her faith in K'ton's ability to care for his own son. Even if he had never done it before. He would no sooner harm the boy than he would Ironth and that gave her all the solace she needed really. Would she come back and find her son filthy and eating things he likely shouldn't? More often than not most likely. Would she find the boy rolling about naked because K'ton couldn't figure out a diaper properly? Absolutely. Would she laugh? Daily.

Was it worth it? Definitely.

You are ridiculous Vee grinned slightly, a slightly glazed-over look to her eyes that the weyrfolk knew all too well. 'Yes, but you love me no less.' Not the point. Come save your hatchling, Ironth's rider is speaking of a party. Vee lifted a brow at that but waited for the lunch items she had requested to be packed into a basket for her before making her way back to the weyr. It was nice to get out, even if just for a little while, not that she minded taking her son anywhere. She had never minded taking Evritt anywhere either. The creche was fine for her children, but she was also very hands-on as a mother, something her mother never had been. She thanked the drudges in the kitchen with promises to bring Vaelon down to see them within the next few days before finally leaving the kitchens.

Before long she was sliding the door open to the weyr she shared with K'ton, basket under one arm she just leaned on the door frame and watched him on the floor, making faces at their son.

Their son.

She thought she had been too old to have another child. She had worried he wouldn't make it, that something would go wrong. All her worry and fear had been wasted because she had given K'ton a healthy son and now they had a perfect little family. Squeals of delight had her giggling and her watching in peace was broken as K'ton looked over with those dashing blue eyes, that Vaelon shared, and stole her breath away. "Having fun my loves?"

He made faces at the boy, sprawled on the floor with him and Vaelon squealed with excitement as his father played with him. K'ton had never had the opportunity to do such a thing with any of his children, never knowing who they were until they were mostly grown and the novelty of raising an infant from the beginning was one he found he quite enjoyed. Raspberries and bubbles and spit flew as the pair played, never realizing Vaelya stood watching in the doorway.

K'ton was proud of himself for not jumping like a scalded cat when her voice rang out through their weyr. Ironth was extremely amused and the brown rumbled from where he lay curled with his much large mate. His eyes cut over to look at her, grin on his face as he slapped in the face by her beauty. It never failed to amaze him that he'd managed to actually snag her and snag her good. She was beyond him but she'd chosen him. But she'd made his dumbass work for it.

"Of course," he told her with a wink, "We're doing manly man things. Planning party and drink and carousing. Care to join us?" He patted the floor beside him. "There's plenty of room and I'm sure he wouldn't mind an extra set of devious thoughts."

Digger, much like K'ton, haad looked up upon hearing Vaela's voice and chirped at her. The little bronze firelizard hopped up from where he had been sitting above Vaelon's head and flew over to her, landing gently on her shoulder. Dark eyes never left blue as she lifted her free hand to gently scratch the soft, warm hide of the brown that was rubbing his head against her cheek.

"Hmm. Manly things, huh?", she shook her head slightly at him as she pushed herself away from the doorway with a hip. Her lips curved in a grin as she walked toward him. "Join my two favorite guys for partying and carousing? If only to keep you both out of trouble." She handed K'ton the basket then placed a steadying hand on Digger, as she did not fancy having those little talons of his sinking into her shoulder and upsetting Nadioth from the pain, then deftly sat beside her weyrmate. She smiled at him, like she often did, like he was still the most incredulous man she had ever met, and kissed him lightly.
"My devious thoughts I will keep to myself until a certain little man takes his nap.", she told K'ton after she kissed him, then turned to Vaelon and tickled his tummy. "Is your daddy teaching you naughty things? Is he?" Arms and legs were kicked and baby giggles were loud and happy causing both firelizards to chirp and flutter their wings. Digger hopped from Vee's shoulder to take quick flight, only to land on the floor beside Selene, eyes whirling with excitement as they watched over the baby. Nadioth rumbled in an amused way as she watched the human family before her and her mate. I like when you are happy, came the smooth, precise voice of her dragon. She turned her head for just a moment, looking over at where her dragon still rested with Ironth. The dragons were much like their riders, rarely without the other when there weren't chores, tasks, or other responsibilities being taken care of. 'I like when you are happy as well, love.'

Her attention returned to her son and K'ton, whom she leaned on gently, Vee gave thought to just how happy she was at that moment and smiled. Sometimes she still questioned how she got where she was, the rest of the time she just went with it. Which is pretty much exactly how she got where she was. "So, what other manly things do you plan to teach and ruin our son with?", she asked K'ton with a teasing tone, as she watched Vaelon open and close his outstretched hands at the pair of firelizards watching him.
