Benden is hit with a heavy heatwave in the last week of Month Six, and first week of Month Seven, which carries through to the end of the month. Their weather will begin to cool in the last week of the month, dropping to the low 30s.

Ista Isle is amused by the weaklings of Benden, but at least their heat is dry. Benden is muggy and riddled with heavy thunderstorms and downpours.

Ista is heating up swiftly, and preparing for a rough summer - hopefully nothing like the one from a couple turns before with the wildfires! The rest of Northern Pern is warming upsomewhat slower, but with no less gusto as summer begins to creep into the sky, keeping the sun awake longer, warming the ledges of the weyrs. Rainstorms are sporadic, but keep the world well watered, despite the heat of the days.

The Red Star can be seen by those who choose to see it, causing no shortage of whispers that Thread will return - and just as much dismissal from those who do not believe. After all, it's been so long, surely it is no longer a threat! Weyrleaders are, regardless, beginning to put together wings in their Weyrs, if only to keep troublesome and bored riders busy.

Month 12, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Winter -3 - 2 C | 26 - 35 F
Fort is already home to snowfalls, though early in the month they fade away when the sun rises. As the month progresses, more snow stays on the ground, ending up with several feet of snow before the month is over. The areas around homes and populations has the snow shoveled away or trodden down. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove some danger and are routinely removed.

Ista Boundaries:
Winter, 9 - 21 C | 48 - 69 F
Generally warm enough to go about without a jacket on, Ista has low humidity but high chance of rain, generally in the form of vicious afternoon thunderstorms. The storms wash away any bite of heat the day had, and leave it feeling fresh for the night. The days are short, but grow bright quickly and the afternoons seem to be particularly short when heavy thunderstorms roll in and cover the sky.

Telgar Boundaries:
Winter, -5 - 0 C | 23 - 32 F
Bitterly cold, with icy winds constantly flowing down from the mountains. Freezing rain is almost constant; the sky always a murky grey and the ground slippery with slushy refrozen ice. The days are extremely short, with the nights dropping a good number below the daily average. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove a major danger, and are checked upon every day, with anything bigger than a fist being removed.

Month 07, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Summer 27 - 38 C | 80 - 100 F
Light breezes down from the mountains tot he North keep the temperature comfortable, even when the sun can bake an egg on the edge of a weyr. Sunburn is common.

Ista Boundaries:
Summer, 34 - 43 C | 93 - 110 F
A very dry, dusty heat. Little to no rain, causing more than some to worry about the drought not breaking and the rest of the Isle being at risk of fires. Many seek the depths of weyr, hold or hall during the midday and early afternoon heat.

Telgar Boundaries:
Summer, 26 - 35 C | 79 - 95 F
Muggy, sticky and generally just plain humid. Thunder storms are regular occurances, often happening in the early afternoon or evening, with heavy rainfall before drying off sometime in the night. Mornings are usually crisp, but warm up swiftly.

Month 04, 740 AL
North: Early Spring | South: Early Autumn
−1.9 C to 4.7 C | 20.0 C to 29.0

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself naturally warmer, (~10C / 50) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.

Katila is beginning to cool down to more reasonable temperature, but is no less muggy and uncomfortable to those who are not used to the seasons. It is still a good place to escape to when seeking a warm day or a nice swim at the lake, though.

Winter has come slowly to the Northern lands of Pern, with more rain and cold winds than snow. As the month progresses, more and more snow will fall, with frequent blizzard-like storms towards the very end of the month. Telgar and Fort will in particular become burried under mountains of snow, while Ista is sunjected to frequent icy rainstorms, and heavy winds coming in from across the ocean.

Following the disastrous fires (sometime in around the 28th of Month 08), Ista Isle has found itself suddenly in the midst of constant rain; not enough to flood, but a steady, dreary downfall that seems to only take a time out for a couple of hours here and there, before coming back again. Its cast the entire sooty Isle into a sombre and depressed mood. Alongside the rain, the weather is muggy and while not hot, is not particularly cool, either.

The rest of Northern Pern is getting their usual weather, though they, too, have been called to action following the wildfires that savaged Ista. Many individuals who called Ista Island home have been relocated not just to Ista Weyr, Ista Hold or Sea Cliff Hold, but also to other areas of Pern, whether with family or friends.

17.4 to 25.5 C | 10.8 C to 23.2 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm - 37 to 45 C - has resulted in an incredibly dry summer, with little to no rain. This was climaxed by a dry thunderstorm, the results of which caused three fires to start across the Island on the 24.07.739 in the early morning hours. While the results of this are yet to be played out, the events will no doubt leave more than just the scarring of the land.

18.0 to 26.6 C | 10.2 C to 21.9 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm, with average weather being in the 37 to 45 C range, making it now a more than slightly undesirable escape for the rest of the Northern population from the more enjoyable early summer weather. There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind. Ista's limited farmlands and fields are dry and dusty, with golden straw instead of grass where there is any growth at all.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are still getting a lot of evening rain and the occasional thunderstorms, which cools down the populus and allows them to sleep easily without sweating their brains out like the Istans.

Month 11, 738 AL
North: Late Autumn | South: Late Spring

Autumn is coming to an end, with the days slowly becoming shorter still, with early nights and late mornings. The temperature is getting very cool, with jackets being more required, but it has yet to actually snow. Despite this, it is often raining and miserable.

The Southern contient is in full bloom, with flowers coming to life in the grasses and on the trees. The skies are bright blue with fluffy clouds, and occassional sunshowers bringing a dampness to the day. The nights are still crisp, but not cold. The ground is starting to dry up as water is absorbed by the blooming flora.

Month 10, 738 AL
North: Mid Autumn | South: Mid Spring

Autumn is in full tilt, with the leaves a shocking array of orange and red, and more of them on the ground than on the trees. The skies are often a clear and crisp blue, with a cool breeze flowing, shifting the leaves and sending them scattering. Rain is not common, but when it does roll in the skies are dark like night come early, and thunderstorms are not uncommon, though they don't last for long and the amount of rain that falls isn't too heavy.

Month 09, 738 AL
North: Start Autumn | South: Start Spring

Nothern regions are entering into Autumn, with the trees beginning to change to their reds and oranges, while the air is beginning to feel more crips. There are still more warm days than cool, and the nights are mostly warm enough for light bedding still. Rain has faded away and most days are clear and bright.

The Southern contient finds itself heading into spring, with rain and flowers vying for attention. The ground is often muddy and squishy, while the skies are either bright and blue, or overcast wtih fluffy clouds.

Month 08, 738 AL
North: End Summer | South: End Winter

Summer is winding to an end in the Northern hemisphere, with the weather slowly cooling and the trees beginning to turn their leaves. The days are still long and bright, but the sun is beginning to lose some of its strength.

The coastal Weyrs are falling victim to coastal storms, strong winds and heavy rains with thunder and lightening.

The more inbound Weyrs and Holds find themselves drier, not getting nearly as much rain or storms, they find themselves on the end of a long drought.

Month 07, 738 AL
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter

Summer is in full spring in the Nothern hemisphere, with the bulk of each day being unbearbly hot, followed by vicious thunderstorms and heavy humidity in the evenings and at night.

The coastal areas are experiencing monsoon like weather, and spend a lot of their time locked away in Hold, Hall or Weyr.

The more inner locations find themselves faced with more dry heat during the day, and horrible humidity in the evening and at night while the thunderstorms rage.

General Description:
Slim of build, light of muscle, toned and fit Sin doesn’t strike immediately as someone that works out and looks after himself, but he does. With a preference for swimming, he’s stronger than he looks and faster than he usually moves. Delicate hands are particularly adept at pick pocketing, a talent he usually employs to annoy and amuse his friends.

Long hair is Sin’s primary feature, usually falling in silky waves to his shoulders, sometimes beyond but rarely shorter – he hates having his hair shaved short, and avoids it as much as possible. He doesn’t tie it back, preferring to let the strands float around his face or hook it back behind one ear. When he does wear it up, he tends to pile it all into a knot and tie it off in a bun of sorts.

Sin’s face is defined, with high cheekbones and a nose that is a bit too big. His jawline is strong, and enhanced some by the facial hair he tends to wear; a neatly trimmed moustache, chin, and along his jawline. Sometimes he shaves it all off for no apparent reason, but usually he just keeps it nice and short so that it doesn’t look scrubby.

Not common among the Pernese – but particularly the dragonriders – Sin has both his ears pierced, and wears small wooden studs in them the majority of the time, sometimes dangling embellishments are added. Since Impressing, he sticks to the wooden studs, so as not to get them caught on anything.
General Dressing Style:
Sin wears what is comfortable first and foremost, but he’s also developed a taste for dressing up ‘like a dandy lordling’ when the time calls for it, and finds it highly entertaining to play the game. He enjoys wearing jewellery such as bangles, bracelets and necklaces and is often seen with several adorning him. Rings are also something he finds fanciful and they make him feel pretty. So he wears a lot of those, too. Most of them are small and carved from wood, but some have been made of leather, and one or two are even wrought from metals.

Habits & Mannerisms:
When he’s not concentrating on something, Sin tends to fidget, a lot. He twists rings around on his fingers, picks at his nails, chews his bottom lip, and fidgets with his necklaces. Its easy to see when he isn’t otherwise occupied. Likewise, when Sin puts his attention on something, it has his whole attention, to the point where it can often be hard to interrupt him.
General Personality:
Sin is a bright, intelligent young man who enjoys the little things in life, like being a tease and playing games, often to the annoyance of those around him. However, he is mostly harmless and those that enjoy his company are treated with respect and a great deal of affection. An easy smiler and with a joyful laugh, Sin is easy to spot in a crowd – when he wants to be – and can be a lot of fun to hang around. He is a comedic, and pokes as much fun at himself as he does those he calls dear.

On the other side, Sin can be impulsive, sneaky and fearless, a combination that has put him in the crosshairs more than a few times growing up, and no less now that he’s – technically – an adult. He has very little impulse control, so once an idea takes hold it requires a great deal of effort from worried friends to talk him out of what is definitely not good for his health and wellbeing. This includes antics such as sneaking into the Weyrleaders bedroom to shortsheet his bed. Things that sound like a great deal of fun, but have consequences that Sin just isn’t ready to consider.

Since he was attacked – left unharmed but frightened – by a canine early after moving to the North, Sin cannot stand the creatures, big or small, and goes out of his way to avoid interacting with them no matter the cost. Besides being nasty, toothy and attack happy, Sin finds dogs to be stupid and smelly. Why anyone would want one, when they could have a nice dragon or even a firelizard, he has no idea.

Enjoying the good things in life – like sex and alcohol – Sin also favours the darker corners, such as drugs and pickpocketing. He enjoys getting high, and the effects that it causes and while he’s not addicted, he doesn’t have any trouble finding any excuse to use. His pickpocketing is something he takes a great deal of pride in, especially now he’s really good at it, and something he keeps semi-secret. Some good friends know about it, and he enjoys picking their pockets for fun and games but would never actually steal from those he treasures.

Because of his social nature, Sin can’t stand being alone, as loneliness creeps in quickly and brings him down into moods of deep depression until someone comes along to remind him he isn’t alone. Additionally, boredom is a great trouble to him, and being bored is terrible. It causes his mind to get extra active, which means he is prone to coming up with even more outrageous and bad ideas that he may well follow through on – especially if such thoughts come to him when he is alone.

Important History:
722.10.09 Born! Such a wonderful event! Childhood followed, with a mischievous and outgoing youngster who found delightful amusement in most things, especially stealing trinkets and watching his mother search for them. Sin made friends fast and easily, and enjoyed spending time with them, both in and out of the creche.

734.10.09 Turn 12. Finally old enough to Stand, and there are no more clutches that year. Naturally. Of course, with the fact that their entire village was destroyed by the landslide, Hatchings aren't exactly on the mind of most folks. Nonetheless, Sin is excited to officially become a candidate as the Weyr is rebuilt in a new location.

735 Going North! Sin is both ridiculously excited and more than a little nervous at this new adventure. Despite that, he's one of the first Candidates to make the trip North and quickly falls in love with the strange and beautiful world he finds. Sin finds himself at home in the markets and stalls of the true Gathers, and parties were practically made for him. It is in the markets that he hones his pickpocket skills, using the speed and agility of his youth to escape when a pick goes bad, and finding darker corners to flip items with people who don't ask questions. Not ever transaction goes smoothly, and there is more than one occasion that causes Sin no small amount of trouble. But he learns, and quickly, how to tell who will buy, and who will turn him in.

736 Sin stands for an assorted array of clutches, apparently with no real rhyme or reason behind when he does, and when he does not, take to the Sands. Unlike some of his fellow candidates that stand every clutch, Sin figures his baby will find him if he wants him, whether he is in the Stands or on the Sands.

737 As soon as it opens, Sin decides to make Ista his home, following several of his fellow Katilan brats in the process. Its just nicer to be in the heat than the chillier other regions!

741.07.05 Impressed! Welcome to the world, Cernovith! The year takes a much brighter turn after all the murder, mayhem and poisonings that affected friends and took no small number of lives that he cared about. He doesn't know who is behind such attacks, but he's working hard on improving his eavesdropping to accompany his pick pocketing to figure out who the fuck is ruining the lives of his friends.

Education
Details:
Sin has the general education that all Katilan brats endured; he can math, and spell, and write sentences but his handwriting is not particularly pleasant to try and decipher and he'd rather do anything else than math.

Gold Iliyith x Bronze Rhezalth at Benden Weyr on the 05.07.742 AL [Clutch Page] - First brown to hatch, and second dragon overall after a bronze brother and before a blue. "[...]the brown shook off the remaining bits of shell and chirped inquisitively. The brown then meandered off along the sands, seemingly more curious about the other eggs than the Candidates[...]" Cer has some scarring on his belly from when his second bronze brother Hatched "Brown 1 had crouched down, then suddenly pounced on the egg just as it split open, chirping cheerfully in what quickly gave way to a surprised and pained shriek. Bronze 2 emerged hissing and spitting-mad from the remains of egg #27, clawing up the belly of Brown 1 who managed to quickly scramble away."
Weyrlinghood
Cernovith is a very pretty little brown; his chunky body is made up of dark chocolate, with golden highlights and speckles that look as if the sun is shining down on him. The lower half of his tail is almost entirely golden, as is the tip of his nose. From there, the speckles and splotches appear to be completely random and scattered about. The scarring on his underbelly appears to match the golden highlights, and so blends in fairly well.

In build, Cernovith is a stocky fellow, with a big chest and strong hind quarters. He has full wings that will make flying a breeze when he’s ready to take to the sky, but do make him somewhat ungainly while on the ground, often tripping him up and causing him both frustration and self-depreciating amusement.
Cernovith
Adulthood
Cernovith grows into a bulk of a brown dragon, with a big, heavy build. He has a barrel of a chest, huge hindquarters, and massive wings that carry him far and with ease. His tail is long and well proportioned to the rest of him, ending in a whippy tail tip that he likes to use to annoy Sin with taps and tripping him up.

When his new hide comes through, while Cernovith retains his original chocolatly base, there are tints of deep forest green and much darker browns within it that give him an overall woody sense, rather than that of fresh chocolate.

In stark contrast to his dark body, the top of Cernovith’s entire head is a very pale brown colour, almost white by comparison, that stops at his upper lip and travels along the topside of his eyes, to colour his headknobs. Matching this, all four of Cernovith’s feet are white, making it look like he’s pulled on a couple of pairs of socks.

Cernovith’s wing membranes have ripples of pale brown through them, which stand out starkly when he is flying, enhancing the sight of light shining through the membrane.
Mindvoice
Cernovith has a rumbling voice that easily conveys his amusement in the many things he finds entertaining. He rarely raises his voice, but when he does get angry his voice takes on an icy cold tone that sends shivers down the spine.
Personality
While Sin isn’t a troublemaker for the purpose of causing trouble, Cernovith is. He loves to cause mayhem and watch as the world around him flounders as a result. He’s cheeky, cheerful, playful and easily annoying if one isn’t in the mood for his antics. He’s bright and intelligent – perhaps too much so – and is a terror when he is bored. Boredom, as Sin will quickly learn, is the fastest way for his dragon to become invested in trouble making.

Impulsive, and with absolutely no impulse control of his own, Cernovith needs to be reigned in by his rider, or he’ll be out there causing mayhem every day, for endless hours. He loves to play with other dragons, and finds Firelizards to be charming as well; possibly because they are so easy to manipulate into causing trouble with him. Cernovith is friendly and not against making new friends in dragon, human or other forms. He’s even been known to apologise to his food before eating it, after all, they could have been friends but he was too hungry to say hello.

Cernovith is absolutely fearless, and this is shown in various ways, but primarily in his encouragement of Sin’s strange and often dangerous antics. So what if they get in trouble? And the fact that one or both of them could kill themselves easily? Well, if Sin doesn’t think of that, Cernovith certainly isn’t going to!
Quirks
Playful, energetic, naughty, cheeky.
Fearless, intelligent but dumb, doesn’t think things through. Ever.
