Benden is hit with a heavy heatwave in the last week of Month Six, and first week of Month Seven, which carries through to the end of the month. Their weather will begin to cool in the last week of the month, dropping to the low 30s.

Ista Isle is amused by the weaklings of Benden, but at least their heat is dry. Benden is muggy and riddled with heavy thunderstorms and downpours.

Ista is heating up swiftly, and preparing for a rough summer - hopefully nothing like the one from a couple turns before with the wildfires! The rest of Northern Pern is warming upsomewhat slower, but with no less gusto as summer begins to creep into the sky, keeping the sun awake longer, warming the ledges of the weyrs. Rainstorms are sporadic, but keep the world well watered, despite the heat of the days.

The Red Star can be seen by those who choose to see it, causing no shortage of whispers that Thread will return - and just as much dismissal from those who do not believe. After all, it's been so long, surely it is no longer a threat! Weyrleaders are, regardless, beginning to put together wings in their Weyrs, if only to keep troublesome and bored riders busy.

Month 12, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Winter -3 - 2 C | 26 - 35 F
Fort is already home to snowfalls, though early in the month they fade away when the sun rises. As the month progresses, more snow stays on the ground, ending up with several feet of snow before the month is over. The areas around homes and populations has the snow shoveled away or trodden down. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove some danger and are routinely removed.

Ista Boundaries:
Winter, 9 - 21 C | 48 - 69 F
Generally warm enough to go about without a jacket on, Ista has low humidity but high chance of rain, generally in the form of vicious afternoon thunderstorms. The storms wash away any bite of heat the day had, and leave it feeling fresh for the night. The days are short, but grow bright quickly and the afternoons seem to be particularly short when heavy thunderstorms roll in and cover the sky.

Telgar Boundaries:
Winter, -5 - 0 C | 23 - 32 F
Bitterly cold, with icy winds constantly flowing down from the mountains. Freezing rain is almost constant; the sky always a murky grey and the ground slippery with slushy refrozen ice. The days are extremely short, with the nights dropping a good number below the daily average. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove a major danger, and are checked upon every day, with anything bigger than a fist being removed.

Month 07, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Summer 27 - 38 C | 80 - 100 F
Light breezes down from the mountains tot he North keep the temperature comfortable, even when the sun can bake an egg on the edge of a weyr. Sunburn is common.

Ista Boundaries:
Summer, 34 - 43 C | 93 - 110 F
A very dry, dusty heat. Little to no rain, causing more than some to worry about the drought not breaking and the rest of the Isle being at risk of fires. Many seek the depths of weyr, hold or hall during the midday and early afternoon heat.

Telgar Boundaries:
Summer, 26 - 35 C | 79 - 95 F
Muggy, sticky and generally just plain humid. Thunder storms are regular occurances, often happening in the early afternoon or evening, with heavy rainfall before drying off sometime in the night. Mornings are usually crisp, but warm up swiftly.

Month 04, 740 AL
North: Early Spring | South: Early Autumn
−1.9 C to 4.7 C | 20.0 C to 29.0

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself naturally warmer, (~10C / 50) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.

Katila is beginning to cool down to more reasonable temperature, but is no less muggy and uncomfortable to those who are not used to the seasons. It is still a good place to escape to when seeking a warm day or a nice swim at the lake, though.

Winter has come slowly to the Northern lands of Pern, with more rain and cold winds than snow. As the month progresses, more and more snow will fall, with frequent blizzard-like storms towards the very end of the month. Telgar and Fort will in particular become burried under mountains of snow, while Ista is sunjected to frequent icy rainstorms, and heavy winds coming in from across the ocean.

Following the disastrous fires (sometime in around the 28th of Month 08), Ista Isle has found itself suddenly in the midst of constant rain; not enough to flood, but a steady, dreary downfall that seems to only take a time out for a couple of hours here and there, before coming back again. Its cast the entire sooty Isle into a sombre and depressed mood. Alongside the rain, the weather is muggy and while not hot, is not particularly cool, either.

The rest of Northern Pern is getting their usual weather, though they, too, have been called to action following the wildfires that savaged Ista. Many individuals who called Ista Island home have been relocated not just to Ista Weyr, Ista Hold or Sea Cliff Hold, but also to other areas of Pern, whether with family or friends.

Month 08, 739 AL
North: Late Summer | South: Late Winter
17.4 to 25.5 C | 10.8 C to 23.2 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm - 37 to 45 C - has resulted in an incredibly dry summer, with little to no rain. This was climaxed by a dry thunderstorm, the results of which caused three fires to start across the Island on the 24.07.739 in the early morning hours. While the results of this are yet to be played out, the events will no doubt leave more than just the scarring of the land.

18.0 to 26.6 C | 10.2 C to 21.9 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm, with average weather being in the 37 to 45 C range, making it now a more than slightly undesirable escape for the rest of the Northern population from the more enjoyable early summer weather. There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind. Ista's limited farmlands and fields are dry and dusty, with golden straw instead of grass where there is any growth at all.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are still getting a lot of evening rain and the occasional thunderstorms, which cools down the populus and allows them to sleep easily without sweating their brains out like the Istans.

Month 11, 738 AL
North: Late Autumn | South: Late Spring

Autumn is coming to an end, with the days slowly becoming shorter still, with early nights and late mornings. The temperature is getting very cool, with jackets being more required, but it has yet to actually snow. Despite this, it is often raining and miserable.

The Southern contient is in full bloom, with flowers coming to life in the grasses and on the trees. The skies are bright blue with fluffy clouds, and occassional sunshowers bringing a dampness to the day. The nights are still crisp, but not cold. The ground is starting to dry up as water is absorbed by the blooming flora.

Month 10, 738 AL
North: Mid Autumn | South: Mid Spring

Autumn is in full tilt, with the leaves a shocking array of orange and red, and more of them on the ground than on the trees. The skies are often a clear and crisp blue, with a cool breeze flowing, shifting the leaves and sending them scattering. Rain is not common, but when it does roll in the skies are dark like night come early, and thunderstorms are not uncommon, though they don't last for long and the amount of rain that falls isn't too heavy.

Month 09, 738 AL
North: Start Autumn | South: Start Spring

Nothern regions are entering into Autumn, with the trees beginning to change to their reds and oranges, while the air is beginning to feel more crips. There are still more warm days than cool, and the nights are mostly warm enough for light bedding still. Rain has faded away and most days are clear and bright.

The Southern contient finds itself heading into spring, with rain and flowers vying for attention. The ground is often muddy and squishy, while the skies are either bright and blue, or overcast wtih fluffy clouds.

Month 08, 738 AL
North: End Summer | South: End Winter

Summer is winding to an end in the Northern hemisphere, with the weather slowly cooling and the trees beginning to turn their leaves. The days are still long and bright, but the sun is beginning to lose some of its strength.

The coastal Weyrs are falling victim to coastal storms, strong winds and heavy rains with thunder and lightening.

The more inbound Weyrs and Holds find themselves drier, not getting nearly as much rain or storms, they find themselves on the end of a long drought.

Month 07, 738 AL
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter

Summer is in full spring in the Nothern hemisphere, with the bulk of each day being unbearbly hot, followed by vicious thunderstorms and heavy humidity in the evenings and at night.

The coastal areas are experiencing monsoon like weather, and spend a lot of their time locked away in Hold, Hall or Weyr.

The more inner locations find themselves faced with more dry heat during the day, and horrible humidity in the evening and at night while the thunderstorms rage.

General Description:
Je'ler is athletic, with a rather muscular build from carrying heavy barrels and sacks of ingredients. His hands and lower arms are covered in small scars and frequently fresh cuts from getting caught in thorns while out foraging or stuck with splinters from general work. On his back he has a rather large scar on his left side from an old wound.

He carries himself confidently but not aggressively, even when slacking off. In general he has the bearing of a man with few concerns. His smiles are frequent and warm.
General Dressing Style:
According to Je'ler, shirts are optional, but jackets and vests make for excellent accessories. When he does wear shirts they tend to be light and sleeveless to give his arms more room to move. He tends towards practical rather than pretty (though in his mind he makes it look good either way), but when he is motivated to dress up he goes all out and is willing to spend a surprising amount of marks on a good outfit.
Michael B. Jordan
Personality
Likes:
Singing and music: He enjoys singing as he works, and listening to music. Maybe one day he'll pick up an instrument. He's not especially good at keeping in tune, but he makes up for it with enthusiasm.
Experimenting: Exploring and trying new things is the spice of life! And then you make delicious life spice booze.
Strengths:
Supportive: Even when he's got his own troubles to work through he finds purpose in encouraging and uplifting others.
Dislikes:
Whiskey: Just because he can make it doesn't mean he has to like it. And just because he doesn't like it doesn't mean he can't identify a good one. Ugh.
People who won't try new things: variety is the spice of life.
Working for other people: Je'ler barely likes working for himself, working for others is just tiresome, especially when it comes to physical labor. Oddly enough he enjoys going out on errands because it means he gets to avoid other work.
Flaws:
Afraid of Romance: Je'ler never met his mother, she died when he was born, but she still left a profound affect on his life. He saw how heartbroken his father was without her and it left him with a deep seated fear that one day his own heart would be broken, and his life ruined.
Habits & Mannerisms:
When he's uncomfortable (especially when he's lying) he rubs the back of his neck.
General Personality:
Cheerful, friendly, and laid back, even when he's tired or concentrating on work his lips frequently bear the faint traces of a smile. He adapted rather well to life in the Weyr, and while he's flirty and down for a casual bit of fun, he's not very high pressure and doesn't consider himself a horn dog. He knows he's attractive, and even if he does hit a dry spell it's only a matter of time before Isperinath takes to the skies to end the drought for both of them.

He is very loyal to the people he considers close enough to be his family, but always tries to maintain some emotional distance, avoiding accepting too many favors or gifts. He's especially prone to avoiding romantic entanglements, and the moment he even thinks he's developing feelings for someone (or they're developing feelings for him) he finds some way to reinsert the distance (usually with a prank or by sleeping around). Even when this proves to be painful to someone he cares about, he considers it to be a dose of tough love, sparing the both of them from something terrible.

He's especially fond of his dragon, who he affectionately calls Isper, and he lets her help him taste test all of his experiments. Insulting Isperinath is one of the few ways to guarantee getting into a fight with him.

History
Parents:
Father: Jesper, b.688, d.728
Rank: Journeyman Vintner
Mother: Selia, b.691, d.708
Rank: Cook
Siblings:
None, his mother died in childbirth and his father was too heartbroken to find anyone else.
Relationships:
Past Lovers/Partners: No one terribly important, a few maids, a fellow brewer at the Hall who he'd mess around with after some taste testing. He kept saying he was going to start getting serious and maybe settle down after he reached Journeyman, but then his dad died and he was kidnapped, both of which served as a good excuse to keep avoiding emotional commitment.
Current Lovers/Partners: No one that he's seeing on the regular.
Offspring:
He's pretty sure he has a bastard child back in Benden Hold from before he was kidnapped, but since then he's reasonably sure he hasn't had any more. Pretty sure. No one's told him otherwise.
Secrets:
Depressed and lonely, terrified to try to change it.
Known:
He knows where the best places to slack are.Good for sending on errands and shopping trips, knows where to find things and how to get good deals.
Important History:
708 & Newborn: Jesseler is born and his mother, Selia, dies in childbirth. Jesper is left heartbroken but vows to raise the only thing he has left of his wife to the best of his ability.
713 & 5: Overhears his father talking about his birth with a friend over a drink, believes his father hates him and blames him for his mother's death.
717 & 9: Begins to realize how profoundly sad his father is all the time after spending time playing with other children his age and watching their parents.
721 & 13: Becomes an apprentice to try to have some sort of connection with his distant father.
727 & 19: Has been making his father proud with his progress and makes Journeyman! Things have started to look up as far as his family is concerned.
728 & 20: Jesseler's father falls ill and dies, leaving him with no other family.
729 & 21: Kidnapped and taken to Katila. At first he is quite upset, but once he settles down decides to try and make the best of the situation. There's new brews to discover, and the dragonmen actually appreciate him for his talents. He's able to make some friends and though he slacks at his dragon related classes, he starts to feel like he has a place to belong again.
732 & 24: Traded a flask of wine for a firelizard egg. Named the little blue Yuck due to the amount of filth the critter would get into.
733 & 25: Somehow, despite his lack of studying, he manages to impress a dragon! Most everyone is shocked (most of all himself). He still doesn't take it seriously though, treating the weyrling like a casual pal more than anything serious.
733 & 25: Later on in the year after a few months, his casual negligence results in Isperinath overeating to the point that she falls ill. He finds himself far more distressed than he expected he would be and helps nurse her back to health. Once she's better he swears to buckle down and take better care of her. The level of his concern prompts Isperinath to become almost neurotic about her eating habits.
735 & 27: Through increased diligence and dedication he manages to graduate and becomes a wingrider. He's secretly more proud of himself for this than he was when he became journeyman. With that task completed he's considered much more dependable, though still a bit of a slacker when he can avoid work.
736 & 28: Spends more effort into conveniently avoiding hard work than he does on work itself getting the new Weyrs set up. When everything is done he settles in at Telgar for the time being.
737 & 29: Pays a visit back to the Vintnercraft Hall in Benden Hold as part of the outreach efforts. He's able to establish a working relationship for supplies to make brewing more convenient for him back at the weyr.
739 & 31: Helped with the recovery and rescue efforts at Ista during the fire, carrying people to safety, making sure people were fed, and otherwise making himself useful. Once the fires were out he worked on bringing food and water (and wine, everyone needs a pick me up in these trying times) to the weyr. Despite his well earned reputation for slacking off he and Isperinath make a weekly visit with supplies like clockwork until he eventually decided to stay for the warm weather.
740 & 32: A one night stand with a fellow rider almost turns disastrous as Je'ler finds they have expectations of seeing him again, perhaps even for a romantic dinner. Allegedly, this was not a one night stand, and had in fact been a repeat of some prior nights. Je'ler's rejection and claims that he can't remember those prior nights was not taken very well, and a lot of drama wold have potentially happened, except that a blue dragon won a gold flight and the ensuing drama storm helped him neatly avoid his own problems in the chaos.

Craft:
Vintner
Date(s) Tapped:
Date Apprenticed: 05.01.721 AL Date Tapped: 02.10.727 AL
Speciality:
Experimenting with ingredients and blends, with a tendency towards infused mead and other sweeter "dessert" alcohols.
Strengths:
He's got a good mind for thinking up blends and flavor profiles that work well together.
Weaknesses:
He gets bored easily with traditional wine styles, and so never perfected them.
Additional Information:
Je'ler became a vintner in order to bond with his emotionally distant father. He quickly discovered that waiting for things to finish fermenting made for a very relaxed trade with plenty of opportunities to nap and slack off while still being technically productive. He had trouble focusing on the more traditional wines at first, wanting to experiment with his ingredients from the very beginning, but as he settled into his apprenticeship and realized that knowing the basics would help with his experimentation.

Weyrlinghood
She was a tubby little dragon due to Je'ler letting her gorge herself constantly. She was brightly colored with only a little bit of subtle shading on her legs back then. She started losing the extra weight after she got sick and Je'ler got his act together.
Isperinath
Adulthood
Isperinath grew into a long, lean dragon, almost obsessed with her weight and eating habits after her illness as a weyrling. Her wings and legs are on the shorter side for her length, and she is an agile flyer, and a good sprinter, but not as enduring. Her hide is a bright emerald green that darkens down her legs and towards the edges of her wings until they're almost black at the end, turning a lighter creamier shade on her belly, with the lightest shades at her throat.
Mindvoice
Sweet and melodic with a hint of purr when she's in a mood. She even sings, though usually only for Je'ler.
Personality
Isperinath is vain and especially sensitive about her weight. Sipping Je'ler's creations is one method he uses to try and whet her appetite to make sure she eats enough and doesn't worry. She thrives on praise, and has a long memory for those who compliment her, as well as those who insult her, but only for whichever incident happened most recently. Someone who insults her can easily regain her favor by paying her a compliment, and someone who has complimented her in the past can easily earn tail boppings.
Quirks
Isperinath has a habit of "accidentally" touching people with her tail when she's pleased with or irritated them. These can range from very gentle brushes to harder wacks that appear to be just accidental clumsiness.
