Benden: 32 C to 39 C

Benden is hit with a heavy heatwave in the last week of Month Six, and first week of Month Seven, which carries through to the end of the month. Their weather will begin to cool in the last week of the month, dropping to the low 30s.

Ista Isle is amused by the weaklings of Benden, but at least their heat is dry. Benden is muggy and riddled with heavy thunderstorms and downpours.

Ista is heating up swiftly, and preparing for a rough summer - hopefully nothing like the one from a couple turns before with the wildfires! The rest of Northern Pern is warming upsomewhat slower, but with no less gusto as summer begins to creep into the sky, keeping the sun awake longer, warming the ledges of the weyrs. Rainstorms are sporadic, but keep the world well watered, despite the heat of the days.

The Red Star can be seen by those who choose to see it, causing no shortage of whispers that Thread will return - and just as much dismissal from those who do not believe. After all, it's been so long, surely it is no longer a threat! Weyrleaders are, regardless, beginning to put together wings in their Weyrs, if only to keep troublesome and bored riders busy.

Month 12, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Winter -3 - 2 C | 26 - 35 F
Fort is already home to snowfalls, though early in the month they fade away when the sun rises. As the month progresses, more snow stays on the ground, ending up with several feet of snow before the month is over. The areas around homes and populations has the snow shoveled away or trodden down. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove some danger and are routinely removed.

Ista Boundaries:
Winter, 9 - 21 C | 48 - 69 F
Generally warm enough to go about without a jacket on, Ista has low humidity but high chance of rain, generally in the form of vicious afternoon thunderstorms. The storms wash away any bite of heat the day had, and leave it feeling fresh for the night. The days are short, but grow bright quickly and the afternoons seem to be particularly short when heavy thunderstorms roll in and cover the sky.

Telgar Boundaries:
Winter, -5 - 0 C | 23 - 32 F
Bitterly cold, with icy winds constantly flowing down from the mountains. Freezing rain is almost constant; the sky always a murky grey and the ground slippery with slushy refrozen ice. The days are extremely short, with the nights dropping a good number below the daily average. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove a major danger, and are checked upon every day, with anything bigger than a fist being removed.

Month 07, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Summer 27 - 38 C | 80 - 100 F
Light breezes down from the mountains tot he North keep the temperature comfortable, even when the sun can bake an egg on the edge of a weyr. Sunburn is common.

Ista Boundaries:
Summer, 34 - 43 C | 93 - 110 F
A very dry, dusty heat. Little to no rain, causing more than some to worry about the drought not breaking and the rest of the Isle being at risk of fires. Many seek the depths of weyr, hold or hall during the midday and early afternoon heat.

Telgar Boundaries:
Summer, 26 - 35 C | 79 - 95 F
Muggy, sticky and generally just plain humid. Thunder storms are regular occurances, often happening in the early afternoon or evening, with heavy rainfall before drying off sometime in the night. Mornings are usually crisp, but warm up swiftly.

Month 04, 740 AL
North: Early Spring | South: Early Autumn
−1.9 C to 4.7 C | 20.0 C to 29.0

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself naturally warmer, (~10C / 50) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.

Katila is beginning to cool down to more reasonable temperature, but is no less muggy and uncomfortable to those who are not used to the seasons. It is still a good place to escape to when seeking a warm day or a nice swim at the lake, though.

Winter has come slowly to the Northern lands of Pern, with more rain and cold winds than snow. As the month progresses, more and more snow will fall, with frequent blizzard-like storms towards the very end of the month. Telgar and Fort will in particular become burried under mountains of snow, while Ista is sunjected to frequent icy rainstorms, and heavy winds coming in from across the ocean.

Following the disastrous fires (sometime in around the 28th of Month 08), Ista Isle has found itself suddenly in the midst of constant rain; not enough to flood, but a steady, dreary downfall that seems to only take a time out for a couple of hours here and there, before coming back again. Its cast the entire sooty Isle into a sombre and depressed mood. Alongside the rain, the weather is muggy and while not hot, is not particularly cool, either.

The rest of Northern Pern is getting their usual weather, though they, too, have been called to action following the wildfires that savaged Ista. Many individuals who called Ista Island home have been relocated not just to Ista Weyr, Ista Hold or Sea Cliff Hold, but also to other areas of Pern, whether with family or friends.

Month 08, 739 AL
North: Late Summer | South: Late Winter
17.4 to 25.5 C | 10.8 C to 23.2 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm - 37 to 45 C - has resulted in an incredibly dry summer, with little to no rain. This was climaxed by a dry thunderstorm, the results of which caused three fires to start across the Island on the 24.07.739 in the early morning hours. While the results of this are yet to be played out, the events will no doubt leave more than just the scarring of the land.

18.0 to 26.6 C | 10.2 C to 21.9 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm, with average weather being in the 37 to 45 C range, making it now a more than slightly undesirable escape for the rest of the Northern population from the more enjoyable early summer weather. There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind. Ista's limited farmlands and fields are dry and dusty, with golden straw instead of grass where there is any growth at all.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are still getting a lot of evening rain and the occasional thunderstorms, which cools down the populus and allows them to sleep easily without sweating their brains out like the Istans.

Month 11, 738 AL
North: Late Autumn | South: Late Spring

Autumn is coming to an end, with the days slowly becoming shorter still, with early nights and late mornings. The temperature is getting very cool, with jackets being more required, but it has yet to actually snow. Despite this, it is often raining and miserable.

The Southern contient is in full bloom, with flowers coming to life in the grasses and on the trees. The skies are bright blue with fluffy clouds, and occassional sunshowers bringing a dampness to the day. The nights are still crisp, but not cold. The ground is starting to dry up as water is absorbed by the blooming flora.

Month 10, 738 AL
North: Mid Autumn | South: Mid Spring

Autumn is in full tilt, with the leaves a shocking array of orange and red, and more of them on the ground than on the trees. The skies are often a clear and crisp blue, with a cool breeze flowing, shifting the leaves and sending them scattering. Rain is not common, but when it does roll in the skies are dark like night come early, and thunderstorms are not uncommon, though they don't last for long and the amount of rain that falls isn't too heavy.

Month 09, 738 AL
North: Start Autumn | South: Start Spring

Nothern regions are entering into Autumn, with the trees beginning to change to their reds and oranges, while the air is beginning to feel more crips. There are still more warm days than cool, and the nights are mostly warm enough for light bedding still. Rain has faded away and most days are clear and bright.

The Southern contient finds itself heading into spring, with rain and flowers vying for attention. The ground is often muddy and squishy, while the skies are either bright and blue, or overcast wtih fluffy clouds.

Month 08, 738 AL
North: End Summer | South: End Winter

Summer is winding to an end in the Northern hemisphere, with the weather slowly cooling and the trees beginning to turn their leaves. The days are still long and bright, but the sun is beginning to lose some of its strength.

The coastal Weyrs are falling victim to coastal storms, strong winds and heavy rains with thunder and lightening.

The more inbound Weyrs and Holds find themselves drier, not getting nearly as much rain or storms, they find themselves on the end of a long drought.

Month 07, 738 AL
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter

Summer is in full spring in the Nothern hemisphere, with the bulk of each day being unbearbly hot, followed by vicious thunderstorms and heavy humidity in the evenings and at night.

The coastal areas are experiencing monsoon like weather, and spend a lot of their time locked away in Hold, Hall or Weyr.

The more inner locations find themselves faced with more dry heat during the day, and horrible humidity in the evening and at night while the thunderstorms rage.

General Description:
T’cai stands about average in height around 6’2” tall and is rather fit. Broad through the shoulder and narrow at the hip, he has long legs and long arms. T’cai has a rather square, strong jaw that is generally clean shaven with high cheekbones. His hair is a darker brown and tends to be shorter along the sides and longer on the top.

His eyes are clear blue that contrast nicely with that dark hair, they’re almond shaped and surrounded by thick lashes. His brows are a bit heavy and are a straight slash above his blue eyes. His mouth is lush with a full lower lip and a top that is nearly as full. A mole that sits just above the corner of one side of his mouth. Some could say he has an almost cupid bow shaped mouth.
General Dressing Style:
T'cai tends to dress practically, though he loves to throw bright colors on where he can, either with an article of clothing or with an accessory like a bracelet or a necklace. He never wears matching socks and will go so far as to not wear them at all if he can't find a mismatched pair.

Personality
Likes:
Weyr Life - It's so much better than farm work!
Sleeping In - Can he wake up before dawn to get stuff done? Yes. Does he enjoy it? No. Sleeping in has been a great perk of leaving farm life behind.
Strengths:
Compassionate - He's good at empathizing with people and is not afraid to demonstrate that he cares.
Confident - He can figure out how to do it.
Hands On - He's not afraid to get his hands dirty and do things himself.
Dislikes:
The Slutty Blue Stereotype - T'cai is not a slut, and he does not appreciate the generalised assumption that blueriders are either after a booty-call, or free for one. Just because some blueriders are overly promiscuous doesn't mean they all are!
Laziness - Just because he likes to sleep in doesn't mean he likes to slack off. He'll relax when he has downtime, but when there's work to be done he prefers that everyone (including himself) just get it over with.
Feeling Ordinary - He is uniquely T'cai, and is bothered by the thought that he might just be someone generic.
Flaws:
Eccentric - T'cai is just an odd man, with odd habits, odd interests, and odd mannerisms. It can be unsettling at times.
Unserious and Unworried - It's not that he doesn't appreciate or understand the gravity of certain situations, it's just that he's not too stressed out about it. He knows what could go wrong, he'll just deal with it if it happens and doesn't want to stress about it in the meantime.
Superstitious -
Habits & Mannerisms:
collects bones, makes them into sculptures (and wind chimes that he fills his weyr with)
provides too much information
asks bizarrely personal questions
loves weird shit
wears mismatched clothing (never shall his socks match)
names inanimate objects, or assigns weird nicknames to things
assigns nicknames to people, is not consistent
General Personality:
T'cai is a friendly and outgoing man, full of curiosity and a general fascination for things. He definitely has his own way about things, and doesn't bother trying to explain them. The things the he does make sense to him, and that's all that matters. Not that he doesn't want to explain things, he just knows that whenever people ask they seem to very frequently regret the question. Still he can't help but share pointless bits of trivia or knowledge or things people don't want to know (man, the zit on his back is really bugging him today, and he's thinking of just grinding it against a wall or something but hoo, the last one he had, now that one was tough...)

He is not an overly promiscuous bluerider, not given to much casual sex. Fooling around with a good friend on occasion is one thing, jumping into a stranger's pants just because they said hello? No thank you. T'cai just prefers more personal connections when it comes to sex, and not all friends will make that cut either for one reason or another that he might try to explain but can't in a way that makes sense to anyone aside from Toynolth.

Not much frightens him except for the thought of being ordinary. While he's not egotistical, he is confident and craves a sense of individuality which may have contributed to his vast and varied interests, mannerisms, and superstitions that he's picked up.

723 and 8 - Despite his generally high activity level and tendency to become easily bored, he always gets his chores done and helps out on the farm like a good kid. He enjoys convincing his older siblings and his mother to tell him fantastical stories.
725 and 10 - A traveling Harper stops by to share some news, spread rumors, and tell stories and Tandivycailis is absolutely enraptured by the thoughts of dragons and dragonmen going on adventures.

735 and 20 - The riders return North and much to his surprise and delight, Tandivycailis is Searched. He jumps at the chance to leave the farm and is overjoyed when he Impresses.
736 and 21 - Craving adventure, he decides to transfer to Ista Weyr when it opens up, thinking it the most different, and thus the most interesting option available.
737 and 22 - Toynolth proves rather talented at searching and T'cai enjoys getting out and meeting potential new candidates.
741 and 26 - With Benden Weyr opening up, T'cai decides to transfer. He's enjoyed his time in Ista for the most part but has found that he missed having a proper winter season.

Education
Details:
Aside from practical knowledge gained working on the farm, and random things learned from his strange collection of hobbies, most of his actual education was gained when he entered Candidacy and Impressed to Toynolth. While he is much more appreciative of education now, he still has a hard time forcing himself to read or think too much about things he finds boring.

Toynolth starts out as a tubby and round little thing, with a rather uniform pale bright blue hide. He is clumsy and awkward, but refuses to hold still except when sleeping. His growth spurts hit him hard and fast to the point that he does not even want to move some days because his bones hurt.
Toynolth
Adulthood
A brilliant sapphire blue with darker cloudy blotches, Toynolth is rather striking. Despite being a talented flier and very active dragon, he still has a layer of softness about him that makes him almost look fat when he's sitting or laying down in "loaf" form. When he's flying or on the move he stretches out and appears like a properly lean blue though he doesn't have anything in the way of chiseled muscle definition. He is a soft and delightful cuddler and usually runs a bit on the warm side.
Mindvoice
Cheerful and upbeat, Toynolth’s voice is always one that people like to hear. The only time it changes is if he’s giving bad news, then it becomes low and melancholy.
Personality
Toynolth is a clever lad who loves riddles. Any kind of puzzle he tries to suss out the answer to and T’cai might be hard pressed to keep up with his demands for them. He has a keen and sharp wit when he meets new people. Sometimes he’s a bit too sharp with his wit and might offend here and there, but he is quick to make apologies when necessary. He has an instinct for people and will be intuitive enough to make a topnotch search dragon when he matures.

Toynolth can be a bit dramatic and messy, but T’cai will just say it’s his colorful personality. He takes a great interest in many things and likes to listen to the harper stories that are told all over the weyr. He can be a bit impatient with things, especially if stories or riddles are not going his way. Sometimes he comes across as a bit snappish but as soon as the irritating thing is gone, Toynolth’s cheerful personality comes right back. Toynolth has been accused of being reckless with his actions sometimes, not thinking before reacting and he can be a bit impetuous with himself.
