Month 12, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Winter -3 - 2 C | 26 - 35 F
Fort is already home to snowfalls, though early in the month they fade away when the sun rises. As the month progresses, more snow stays on the ground, ending up with several feet of snow before the month is over. The areas around homes and populations has the snow shoveled away or trodden down. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove some danger and are routinely removed.

Ista Boundaries:
Winter, 9 - 21 C | 48 - 69 F
Generally warm enough to go about without a jacket on, Ista has low humidity but high chance of rain, generally in the form of vicious afternoon thunderstorms. The storms wash away any bite of heat the day had, and leave it feeling fresh for the night. The days are short, but grow bright quickly and the afternoons seem to be particularly short when heavy thunderstorms roll in and cover the sky.

Telgar Boundaries:
Winter, -5 - 0 C | 23 - 32 F
Bitterly cold, with icy winds constantly flowing down from the mountains. Freezing rain is almost constant; the sky always a murky grey and the ground slippery with slushy refrozen ice. The days are extremely short, with the nights dropping a good number below the daily average. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove a major danger, and are checked upon every day, with anything bigger than a fist being removed.

Month 07, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Summer 27 - 38 C | 80 - 100 F
Light breezes down from the mountains tot he North keep the temperature comfortable, even when the sun can bake an egg on the edge of a weyr. Sunburn is common.

Ista Boundaries:
Summer, 34 - 43 C | 93 - 110 F
A very dry, dusty heat. Little to no rain, causing more than some to worry about the drought not breaking and the rest of the Isle being at risk of fires. Many seek the depths of weyr, hold or hall during the midday and early afternoon heat.

Telgar Boundaries:
Summer, 26 - 35 C | 79 - 95 F
Muggy, sticky and generally just plain humid. Thunder storms are regular occurances, often happening in the early afternoon or evening, with heavy rainfall before drying off sometime in the night. Mornings are usually crisp, but warm up swiftly.

[[Update slowly in progress because ThistleProse is a slackarse :3 lmao ]]

Month 04, 740 AL
North: Early Spring | South: Early Autumn
−1.9 C to 4.7 C | 20.0 C to 29.0

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself naturally warmer, (~10C / 50) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.

Katila is beginning to cool down to more reasonable temperature, but is no less muggy and uncomfortable to those who are not used to the seasons. It is still a good place to escape to when seeking a warm day or a nice swim at the lake, though.

The Red Star can be seen by those who choose to see it, causing no shortage of whispers that Thread will return - and just as much dismissal from those who do not believe. After all, it's been so long, surely it is no longer a threat! Weyrleaders are, regardless, beginning to put together wings in their Weyrs, if only to keep troublesome and bored riders busy.

Month 03, 740 AL

Month 12, 739 AL
North: Early Winter| South: Early Summer
-3.1 to 2.1 C | 20.4 C to 29.4 C

Winter has come slowly to the Northern lands of Pern, with more rain and cold winds than snow. As the month progresses, more and more snow will fall, with frequent blizzard-like storms towards the very end of the month. Telgar and Fort will in particular become burried under mountains of snow, while Ista is sunjected to frequent icy rainstorms, and heavy winds coming in from across the ocean.

13.4 to 21.0 C | 13.8 C to 25.6 C

Following the disastrous fires (sometime in around the 28th of Month 08), Ista Isle has found itself suddenly in the midst of constant rain; not enough to flood, but a steady, dreary downfall that seems to only take a time out for a couple of hours here and there, before coming back again. Its cast the entire sooty Isle into a sombre and depressed mood. Alongside the rain, the weather is muggy and while not hot, is not particularly cool, either.

The rest of Northern Pern is getting their usual weather, though they, too, have been called to action following the wildfires that savaged Ista. Many individuals who called Ista Island home have been relocated not just to Ista Weyr, Ista Hold or Sea Cliff Hold, but also to other areas of Pern, whether with family or friends.

Month 08, 739 AL
North: Late Summer | South: Late Winter
17.4 to 25.5 C | 10.8 C to 23.2 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm - 37 to 45 C - has resulted in an incredibly dry summer, with little to no rain. This was climaxed by a dry thunderstorm, the results of which caused three fires to start across the Island on the 24.07.739 in the early morning hours. While the results of this are yet to be played out, the events will no doubt leave more than just the scarring of the land.

Month 07, 739 AL
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter
18.0 to 26.6 C | 10.2 C to 21.9 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm, with average weather being in the 37 to 45 C range, making it now a more than slightly undesirable escape for the rest of the Northern population from the more enjoyable early summer weather. There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind. Ista's limited farmlands and fields are dry and dusty, with golden straw instead of grass where there is any growth at all.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are still getting a lot of evening rain and the occasional thunderstorms, which cools down the populus and allows them to sleep easily without sweating their brains out like the Istans.

There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are getting a lot of rain, thunderstorms, and cloudy days. Grass is growing, flowers flowering, and baby animals popping up all over the place! Yay spring!

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. Month 11, 738 AL
North: Late Autumn | South: Late Spring

Autumn is coming to an end, with the days slowly becoming shorter still, with early nights and late mornings. The temperature is getting very cool, with jackets being more required, but it has yet to actually snow. Despite this, it is often raining and miserable.

The Southern contient is in full bloom, with flowers coming to life in the grasses and on the trees. The skies are bright blue with fluffy clouds, and occassional sunshowers bringing a dampness to the day. The nights are still crisp, but not cold. The ground is starting to dry up as water is absorbed by the blooming flora.

Month 10, 738 AL
North: Mid Autumn | South: Mid Spring

Autumn is in full tilt, with the leaves a shocking array of orange and red, and more of them on the ground than on the trees. The skies are often a clear and crisp blue, with a cool breeze flowing, shifting the leaves and sending them scattering. Rain is not common, but when it does roll in the skies are dark like night come early, and thunderstorms are not uncommon, though they don't last for long and the amount of rain that falls isn't too heavy.

Month 09, 738 AL
North: Start Autumn | South: Start Spring

Nothern regions are entering into Autumn, with the trees beginning to change to their reds and oranges, while the air is beginning to feel more crips. There are still more warm days than cool, and the nights are mostly warm enough for light bedding still. Rain has faded away and most days are clear and bright.

The Southern contient finds itself heading into spring, with rain and flowers vying for attention. The ground is often muddy and squishy, while the skies are either bright and blue, or overcast wtih fluffy clouds.

Month 08, 738 AL
North: End Summer | South: End Winter

Summer is winding to an end in the Northern hemisphere, with the weather slowly cooling and the trees beginning to turn their leaves. The days are still long and bright, but the sun is beginning to lose some of its strength.

The coastal Weyrs are falling victim to coastal storms, strong winds and heavy rains with thunder and lightening.

The more inbound Weyrs and Holds find themselves drier, not getting nearly as much rain or storms, they find themselves on the end of a long drought.

Month 07, 738 AL
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter

Summer is in full spring in the Nothern hemisphere, with the bulk of each day being unbearbly hot, followed by vicious thunderstorms and heavy humidity in the evenings and at night.

The coastal areas are experiencing monsoon like weather, and spend a lot of their time locked away in Hold, Hall or Weyr.

The more inner locations find themselves faced with more dry heat during the day, and horrible humidity in the evening and at night while the thunderstorms rage.

ITS AN UPDATE! HOORAH!

I'm not dead, my loves! This month's Event is 'Close Call!' - have fun! Stamps will be uploaded and on display in our Discord chatroom.

There is a topic here for discussion about Pernese religions and belief systems, including in and out of Weyr opinions (variably and as a whole) in regards to delicate matters, such as birth, death, and the afterlife. Also, ghosts anyone? Now I'm imagining a giant arse dragon ghost....

Healer Hall is accepting Gold Candidates (just from Fort, for now) and R'nya will soon be discussing with his Weyrwoman Rhaedalyn the merits of bringing in additional female candidates.... on the condition they are approved for Healer Apprenticeship...

Thallyath, Casa's little gold dragon, will be taking to the skies for her maiden flight in the first week of April (IC date will be 740-04-01) and while a mate is already decided, this clutch will be PC and more candidates are ALWAYS welcome, whether you want them to Impress this round --- or not!

September 2018

Spring is here! ... In Australia, anyway!

This month’s riveting event is ‘Seas of Fun’, in honour of International Pirate’s Day! After all the drama with the fires, we expect that taking to the sea (or lake, river, pond, etc) would be a very relaxing way to spend some downtime for many dragonriders and Holderfolk alike!

In preparation for October, the even is “Memories of the Past”, which we hope will be a fun way to explore your character’s past, either in solo posts or threads, as inner monolog or as back posting! How you choose to partake is entirely up to you!

October will also see our next PC HATCHING! In order to have your Candidate qualify for Impression, they must have no less than 20 posts! There are lots of characters floating around who would be more than happy to help your Candidate breech that count! Don’t forget to also UPDATE YOUR APPLICATIONS where applicable, or make sure it is submitted at all! We can’t Impress your character if we don’t know what they should be getting!

As always, be sure to submit your threads to the IC RP Timeline submission thread, so they can be added to the list! While you’re at it, remember to submit your favourite quotes – from your character’s or others! – to the Quote Submission Thread! We want to see some recent quotes thrown in with our old ones!

If you haven't already, please drop by the Dragonrider Weyr Allocations thread, and let us know where your dragonriders call home. We are hoping to set up Wings across the three PC Weyrs over the next month or so, and your assistance is much appreciated! As a result, we will be looking for Wingleaders, Wingseconds, and of course Candidates for the clutches we have scheduled for this year!

August 2018

ITS AUGUST! Do you know what that means? It means its less than 4 months until Christmas! OMG.

Okay. So moving on! This month sees us (hopefully) wrapping up the Camp Kink event! Who doesn’t love an abundance of young adults exploring their sexuality without restraint? Its been a hell of a fun ride (haha get it?) so far! Can’t wait to see what the grapevine makes of it when words gets out … haha!

On a more serious note, this month will see us engaging in the Istan Wildfires! This event is a free for all! Feel free to have your characters interact with the event in any way you feel is suitable! There is a lot of room here for personal dramas, trouble making, hero worshiping, etcetera! We really want to see how characters interact with, and dictate, the outcome of the event!

Those of you who are intersted, please take part in a discussion about the Plot for opening up the Healer Hall! You can find it [here].

July 2018

July was July-y.

June 2018

Welcome to the new month! Like always, I'm slack in getting the update up and running, but here it is! This month we have the event 'Summer Fling' - [Link] - which is turning out to be all kinds of entertaining already! Remember, it doesn't have to include smut! It could be an innocent date with some - *gasp* - hand holding!

This month also saw Gold Bedith of Mulrissa take to the skies! She was won by young Syrendryth of T'ryn! Congrats, and may your Hatching be less dramatic than the last one! The Hatching will take place in October so you have a lot of time to get Candidates created, approved, and posting up a storm!

Those of you who are intersted, please take part in a discussion about the Plot for opening up the Healer Hall! You can find it [here].

April 2018

Well, it’s halfway through the month which shows you how awful I am at keeping this stuff up to date, haha. Due to my slackness, there is no event this month, but the month of May will be hosting ’Lost Belongings’ wherein characters should find something they – or someone else – lost.

In the meantime, gold Okalinath of Kahleena has taken to the skies! You can find her Flight thread taking place on the 4th, here Currently, there is no planned winner, so be sure to throw your bronzes and browns her way! They do not need to be natives to Telgar Weyr to participate!

March 2018

Welcome to March, my friends!

Unfortunately, this month we don’t have any events set up, so we encourage you to wrap up threads and create some personal plots! Next month will be bringing in a new monthly event (Lost Belongings!) so you can always set your character up for that! If you have ideas for future Events, you can submit them here!. Additionally, you can see upcoming events here!

Speaking of new threads, be sure to submit your threads to the IC RP Timeline submission thread, so they can be added to the list! January 2018

Welcome to the New Year, one and all! We hope you had an enjoyable and safe holiday season, and we can't wait to see what your characters will get up to over the next twelve months (and beyond!). The Secret Santa Event has been extended until the 30th of January, so for those of you (like me!) who were busy over the end of December, we hope you can get your threads up and running over the next few weeks! There has been a lot of interesting interactions so far! As we extended the SSE, there won't be a specific January event this month! Don't worry though, we have something up our sleeve for February!

September 2017

Welcome to September! This month, we're working on our Awards for the site! We are also advertising avidly! Please welcome any guests or new members with all that warm charm we know you all posess! That said, we are still seeking Affiliates, so if you're here to drop an ad, please consider us!

Our next PC Clutch will be in the new year, so now is the pefect time to join with old candidates (how many clutches have they stood for now?!) and candidate hopefuls! Get those eager young men and women out there and grow them so we can match them with their perfect lifemate when the new year rolls around and one of our lovely golds throws a clutch on the Sands -- At this point in time, the Weyrs are sharing Candidates, so your Candidate can be Searched by any Weyr, and transfer to the one holding the PC clutch!

August 2017

We are officially open for our relaunch, and are excited to meet and greet new RPers! We're currently looking for all types of characters, including Weyrleaders and goldriders! But we also have lots of room for green and blueriders, weyrfolk, candidates, and all types of Hall folk, such as Masters, Journeymen and Apprentices. If you have any questions, feel free to hit us up in the Cbox or Discord chats, which can be found on the lower part of the screen.

July 2017

We are currently having an event to Create Adoptables! And encourage everyone to take part!

History is almost complete, and the profile has been re-coded. All new characters will need to go onto the new profile, but all old can keep their current! We'll begin advertising properly over the next couple of weeks, once the history has been completed, and probably after the weekend of the 8th and 9th, because that is when ThistleProse is having her birthday.

June 2017

We are on the brink of relaunching! Our history is being rewritten and cleaned up! We are accepting new members, and old! Our advertisment has been re-written, and will be put out there soon. We are also accepting affiliates of all descriptions, genres and themes! If you would like to affiliate with us, please go here
We officially have two layouts! You can post here with any issues you find, or request any changes!

May 2017

Progress has slowed down a little, due to RL events (yay promotions! Boo no internet!) but we're getting back on track! Documents are still being written and we've put together a FAQs page, though its likely to recieve a lot of adjustments as we come across things. The current goal is to have everything set up and ready by July, but we'll see how well we go at that. And by we, I mean ThistleProse. lol.

April 2017

The layout is almost complete, but there is still a lot of work to be done; documents are being written up and can be found in the Site Map menu opion. Players can begin to move their characters' information to their Account Profiles, but be aware some changes may still be made and/or added.
If you find any bugs or issues, plese repot them here, and we will do our best to fix them in a timely manner.

Looks
a lyrical subheading

[color=#213d30]Eyes:
A'liran's eyes are a soft, bluish grey in color.
Hair: A'liran's hair is a light golden color, darkening somewhat at the roots. He generally wears it short and brushed forward at the front, but he occasionally allows it to grow out a bit longer. When it does grow long, it gets rather wavy and difficult to keep under control.
Height: 6'0
General Appearance: A'liran is a slender man, but not necessarily delicate looking. He takes excellent care of his body, which is well-toned and muscular as a result, though his natural frame prevent him from becoming truly bulky. He has a light complexion and generally thin features, with a smooth and narrow face and an equally thin nose. His cheekbones are subtle unless he smiles, in which case they are accompanied by charming laugh lines.

The greenrider's lips are thin and pink, while his face often bristles with smatterings of light gold facial hair that he may or may not maintain at a given time. A'liran enjoys looking well-groomed, but it isn't as important to him as it is to some, so it largely depends on his mood. His teeth are straight and white, often flashing in one of his playful smiles. Of course, he's more likely to be scowling than smiling, in which case his light brows and smooth forehead constrict into a very pointed, angry expression that he can maintain for as long as it takes you to back off
Dressing Style: A'liran isn't overly concerned with appearances, but he's not a slob, either. Sure, he keeps his hair neat and trimmed, but he prefers to dress functionally rather than flashy. He always sports a clean shirt, sometimes with a vest laid over it. He favors lighter colors and rarely dresses up. Even if he wanted to, most events he'd care to dress up for will allow for riding leathers anyhow.

Personality
a lyrical subheading

[color=#213d30]General Character Traits:

A'liran is spirited, and not in the playful, gentle way that riders of his color are said to be. A'liran is angry and spirited. He has a strong sense of justice and morals, both of which are assaulted every day by the life that he and so many others face when they wake up in the morning. Colorism, homophobia and sexism have always bothered him. Before Impression, Alirian often ruffled feathers concerning things like a woman's right to termination or a homosexual's right to love whoever they wanted. After his search and Impression, he found a new pet cause in the colorism rampant in the Weyrs of the time. Of course, the issue was much more serious now because he was one of the many victims.

A'liran is outgoing and a hard worker. Opinionated and fierce, he's never afraid to tell anyone (and everyone) exactly how he feels about a given subject. Rank and authority mean almost nothing to him. As a result, he's carried the label of 'troublemaker' for most of his life. He isn't the sort of troublemaker that gets into mischief and runs away giggling, though; he's the sort that makes calculated attacks against those in power because he believes they are wrong and things have to change.

His fervor has never dulled, but he finds himself dispirited at times. Idealistic in his youth, he's matured to realize that there's only so much that one greenrider can do. He's never been in a position to actually change anything, and he knows that those who can rarely want to. He is often discouraged and his idealism has faded into a sort of bitterness that only breeds more resentment. He despises metallic riders on the whole, rarely even giving them the time of day to speak to him unless they somehow prove themselves better. He wishes to meet a good bronze or goldrider, but it seems to him that the good ones are ruined sooner or later. What's the point?

And browns and blues are no better! A'liran suffered turns of mishandling and abuse at the hands of Benden's brown and blueriders. Many discarded him carelessly after his flights, but there were those cruel individuals who left him battered or pushed for more that really soured him. A'liran doesn't necessarily hate blueriders, but he finds the rider of any male dragon difficult to trust outright. Brownriders are a greater hazard, so he avoids them if he can. When it really boils down to it,  A'liran gets along best with his own kind.

A'liran is very feisty. That's the best word to describe it.  He snaps at people who annoy him and fights back when he feels threatened, which is often. He gives his flight suitors one hell of a show, that's for sure.

That being said, there is a side of A'liran he isn't so proud of. While he's firmly against colorism and the awful stereotypes that come with it, he also can't help but notice a bit of the stereotype in himself. He's emotional and while he works hard, he isn't always the most competent of men. Most of all, he's a lover of carnal pleasures. A'liran is a free lover, shunning commitment and adoring the physical affection of more powerful men. Women as well, though his encounters with them tend to take on a completely different flavor.

A'liran is ashamed of his big appetite. While his public face is proud and ever-defensive of the honor of his fellow greenriders, he finds himself diving into dangerous places all too often, seeking someone exciting to go home with for the night. It's a primal outlet for him, something that lets him take out his aggression in a physical way - not unlike his interest in fitness. A'liran is something of a tease, often taunting the riders of male dragons with his spitfire attitude and baiting them into pursuit. He would rather put up a little bit of a fight and feel like it's not his fault than admit that he enjoys being put in his place by another man; the problem is, sometimes it goes too far and he winds up not only hurt and humiliated, but reminded of his own inescapable place in life, and ultimately, his own hypocrisy.

This behavior is addictive to him, even though he knows it contradicts everything he stands for...and in a way, it means he brings some of the abuse on himself. It wasn't always that way, though. In his early turns as a rider, he resented being objectified and lived in fear of his dragon's flights. In time, one could say he came to accept the madness as a part of his life. He'd not proud of it, but it's become a part of his life.

At his core, A'liran is more submissive than he'd like to admit. While volatile and defensive, there is a part of him that caves quickly when presented with something resembling safety. A'liran trusts very few and denies himself many of his own impulses, so those moments of safety are few and far between. In many ways, he hurts himself more than he helps himself with his prideful attitude and refusal of help from others. If he would settle down and take the time to get closer to people, he could probably find quite a few who would make him feel safe indeed.

There are other things A'liran is proud of, of course. He is an undeniably brave man, never fearing the consequences of speaking his mind or doing the right thing. He is ever the champion of the unfortunate and will not hesitate to defend someone who needs defending. He's a little bit of a screw up, but he's also incredibly hard working and determined and able to bear quite a lot of pain, both physical and emotional. He bends horribly and often, but he doesn't break.

The unfairness of the world bothers him. It really does. While his youthful idealism didn't survive his early turns as a dragonrider, he still hopes that things will one day change. However, he's been sorely disappointed by the Katila project. Things should have gotten better with riders forced to work together. Instead, they've gotten worse. His new plan is to help those he can on an individual level, to help pull them through the hardships that he himself has felt, and hope they won't go off the deep end and revel in their torment like he has learned to do.

He's very pro-northerner and is quick to defend them. He also has no faith in the leadership of Katila, often openly criticizing them and mocking them to as many people as will listen. He also quickly rallys behind young greenriders, encouraging them to defend themselves rather than roll over and accept a submissive position in life. In his mind, he almost feels like it's too late for him. Not for these kids, though.

Faranth help them.

Likes:
Fitness: A'liran is concerned with his physical health, not to the point of obsession but enough that it's an important part of his life. He wakes up early in the mornings to get his exercise in and he generally loves being active. It's a physical outlet for his anger, plus it keeps him looking nice.
Flights A'liran is a much bigger fan of casual sex than he would like to admit. Flights give him a chance to cut loose and be himself, and more importantly, whatever happens isn't his fault. It's guilt-free fun. He's a violent flight partner, however. He often outright attacks his flight winner, in hopes of leaving bruises on them before they can leave any on him. Of course, that doesn't always work out so well...
Young People: While not old by dragonrider standards, A'trian is no longer a child. Part of him remains young at heart, though. He respects the adaptability and spirit of youth, even though (and perhaps because) he sometimes feels like his own is burning out.
Burning Tsuen's hut:  Yeah, he went there.
Dislikes:
Colorism: Nothing bothers him like colorism. He sees no reason why a color of a man's dragon should hold him back. The traditional color-based hierarchy of the Weyr bothers him, especially now that it seems to be getting worse and more heavily ingrained with each passing turn.
Katila: A'liran is extremely against the Katila project. He despises both Tsuen and D'ren and is very pro-northerner, always sympathizing with their plight and seeking to comfort and guide the stolen whenever he can. They deserved better than this, and so do the riders held unfairly at Katila by their foolish Queen. May she die. Horribly. And her little bronze, too,
Stereotypes: While this does hand in hand with 'colorism', there is more at play here. Color stereotypes bother him, yes, but what bothers him most is when they are true. He quickly learned that his fellow greenriders didn't always help their own case when it comes to discrimination, but it's at it's very worst when he sees the truth of it in himself as well.
Metallic Dragons: Pig monsters, all of them!
Failure: A'liran has serious trouble coping with failure. He's very hard on himself and really beats himself up over any and all failures, no matter how minor. He's 'just a green'. He's always pushed to be more. Every failure is a determent to his cause, a failure not only to himself, but to all greenriders.
Habits/Mannerisms: A'liran taps his foot and paces often. He doesn't like to sit down for long, and will often stand up and pace about while talking even if everyone else is relaxing.
Strengths: A'liran is brave with a strong sense of morals and fairness. He is hard working and always tries his best at any given endeavor, no matter how hopeless it may seem. He is loyal to a fault and once he'sdevoted to something or someone, he will never abandon it. He bends, but never breaks, understanding fully that you can lose the battle but not the war itself. While abrasive on the outside, A'liran is genuinely concerned with the well-being of others, especially those who suffer under oppression. A'liran is very empathetic as a result, and while stubborn, his prejudices can be overcome if the right person comes along to set him straight.
Weaknesses: While well-intentioned, A'liran is also something of a hypocrite, especially since at the end of the day, he's just as colorist as the worst bronzerider in the Weyr. A'liran is also prone to fighting and can be incredibly rude and difficult to get along with. While he puts on a strong face for the crowd, he is secretly quite submissive, making him two-faced and, in the opinion of some of his past lovers, pathetic. A'liran can be a tease and incredibly contrary, not to mention emotional. His primary emotion? Anger!

    Rank: Drudge
Father: Seliran, 161 AL
    Rank: Sr. Journeyman smith
Siblings: Seliri, f, 190 AL
Allisel, m, 191
Past Lovers/Partners: Too many to list, none worth listing
Current Lovers/Partners: N/A
Children:Aliress, f, 225 AL. Died two days after birth.

A'liran is certain he has other children, but none have been presented to him yet.
Background Story:
187: Alirian is born to a smith and a kitchen worker in Benden hold. He's the first child of a young mother, and is often sick. He nearly dies of a fever at only four days old, but he manages to pull through.
188-198: Alirian is a spunky child, often getting into scraps. He is relentlessly bullied by some of the more fortunate children, but seems to defend himself just fine.
199: Alirian's father considers sending his son to the craft hall to follow in his footsteps, but lacks the resources and can't spare the child's help around the house. The boy is instead kept at home to be trained informally, but Alirian shows remarkably little interest.
201: A searchrider from Benden selects  Alirian from a group of children. His parents are reluctant to let him go, but after a spectacular tantrum, they agree.
203: After several failures, Alirian Impresses a green dragonet. He loves her instantly, but quickly realizes he's at the bottom of the totem pole.  During his training, Alirian grows increasingly resentful of the Weyr's colorism. He also comes to dread Astoreth's maiden flight, which ends in disaster
204: The maiden flight is a total disaster. Alirian panics and is trapped in the weyr bowl during it, and is dragged into a storage cavern by his flight winner. He's left bruised and resentful. Later that turn, he graduates and becomes A'liran.
205: A'liran gains a reputation for troublemaking; often defending fellow greenriders who find themselves in tight spots.
206: A'liran is lashed for the first time by his wingleader, who charges him with insubordination. This is only the first of many.
207-214: A'liran continues to make trouble for his superiors, but over time he comes to enjoy flights more.
215: The plague hits. A'liran keeps a close eye on Astoreth, who develops worrying symptoms early on. Fortunately, it's a false alarm.
216: A'liran and Astoreth set off across the ocean. The small green barely makes it, and is ill from fatigue for some days after their arrival.
217-219: A'liran becomes bitter in his seclusion. Astoreth keeps his spirits up, though.  At least out here, he can't be tormented by bronzeriders!
220: The pair go to Nirinath's call, where they are relieved to be among their own kind again.
221: A'liran is shocked and infuriated by the decision to stay in the south.
222: A'liran is among one of those who attempts to escape to the north. At their resulting sentencing, he made a show of spitting at Tsuen.
224: A'liran considers trying to go and inform the intruders of the dragonriders' presence, but Nirinath is able to ground Astoreth before he can put his plan into motion. Foiled again!
225: A'liran has a child after being flown by a female-ridden blue, but the baby doesn't make it.
226: A'liran is involved in the torching of Tsuen's hut, which he enthusiastically participated in and still brags about to this day
227: Any joy he feels at the clutching is cut short when stealing is announced. He is horrified and loses all faith in the leadership.
228: A'liran spends much of his time trying to console northerners
229-230: nothing of note
231: After lashings are reinstated, A'liran quickly finds himself on the wrong end of a whip. He is lashed for insubordination.

[color=#213d30]Name:
Astoreth
Pronounced: AST-or-eth
Colour: Green
Hex: 00cd66 on 072f1c
Wing Rank: Wingrider
Place of Birth: Benden Weyr
Age/Date of Birth:  29/ 2.04.203
Clutch Name: Beasts of Earth Clutch / Neurotoxin Egg / Striking Serpent Green
Clutch Mother: Gold Eshath
Clutch Father: Bronze Drelkath
Appearance:
    Mature Length: 22'0
    Mature Height: 32 hh
    Mature Wingspan: 33 feet
Scars & Markings: Astoreth has a variety of small scars along her sides, mostly the result of her violent flights. Her hide is banded in three shades of green, with the darkest forming an asymmetrical patch on her left side.
General Appearance: Astoreth is a petite green, small but not tiny and slender but not overly fragile. She's midrange in terms of length, with a tapering body and a distinctive patchy hide. Her nose and tail are a light spring green, which bleeds into a mossy band and finally into a dark, forest green patch. Her wingsails are a shadowered greyish green in color.
Personality:
Likes: Astoreth absolutely loves it when someone gives her a reason to get aggressive. She loves it when someone challenges her or her rider, and she even loves it when she's put in her place at the end. As long as the game was satisfying, she's happy.
Dislikes: Astoreth won't tolerate any harm coming to A'liran. She also hates overly-talkative people (or dragons), which very quickly get under her skin. She despises naivety and ignorance, though she knows she isn't the smartest of creatures herself.
Habits/Mannerisms: Astoreth craves physical contact with A'liran and often looms close behind him, at least when she can. She is often restless, twitching her tail and scraping her paws against the ground when she must hold still.
Strengths: Astoreth is clever, with a knack for saying the right thing at the right time. She's loyal and has a strong sense of right and wrong, much like her rider, and in spite of her seemingly harsh nature, it will usually come out in the end. She enjoys taunting and teasing, but she's good at knowing when to stop. She's also eternally supportive of A'liran, who so desperately needs someone he can relate to. Astoreth understands. She plays the same games and fights the same battles. Unlike  A'liran, however, she doesn't take it all so deathly serious. She fights alongside him, but she doesn't share in his despair, so he never has to worry about her dragging him down any further.
Weaknesses: While Astoreth is ever supportive, she also doesn't completely understand all of A'liran's grievances. What's so bad about being submissive to a brown, she would ask? She's also needlessly temperamental, which can sometimes fuel A'liran's own insubordination and indignant outbursts. Astoreth is terribly difficult to control during flights, where she becomes a true terror. Outside of flights, she can still be a vicious rage monster when she's having a bad day. She controls herself well enough most of the time, but when she doesn't, it's a huge mess.
General Personality: Astoreth is a fiery one. She's calm enough on the surface, usually appearing collected and dignified. She's an observer and a mediator, always keeping a close eye on those around her and throwing her opinion in whether they like it or not. In a way, she resembles a calmer and much more controlled version of A'liran. She is nurturing, protective of those she feels she must protect, and she doesn't stand for uncalled for cruelty. Pride (or at least the appearance of dignity) is important to her and while she doesn't always get her way, she certainly always speaks her mind.

Like A'liran, however, this poised and proper green has a lot of anger inside her. It isn't like A'liran's long-brewing resentment. Astoreth was simply born with a wild spark, a ferocity that flows through her veins like blood. She's as temperamental and feisty as her rider, though she prefers to express it in calculated strikes rather than the uncontrolled outbursts her bonded is prone to. She loves a thrill and truly enjoys the games she gets to play as a result of A'liran's lack of control. The green dragon loves flying to his defense, tossing her wit against  his enemies and using it as an excuse to start some trouble. She's mischievous in this regard, playful and almost taunting, though unlike A'liran, she can admit when things have gone too far.

She's sharp-tongued and often dry, though not exactly cruel. She enjoys the company of others and likes to talk, but she's as opinionated as he rider and makes no effort to hide it when she's been offended. She's not manipulative, but she is something of an instigator. She likes drama and gets a good laugh out of it, though when something comes back to bite her it will usually send her home with her tail between her legs, indignant with rage. Her temper is always lurking just below the surface.

Mischievious though she is, Astoreth shares A'liran's protective streak and is gutsy to a fault. Like her rider, she will stand up for whatever she believes to be right. The difference is that Astoreth doesn't take things quite so seriously.

Most of the concerns that torment him are foreign to her. She doesn't understand his issues with colorism; after all, they are greens. It is natural for others to dominate them. Astoreth doesn't demand dominance, she simply desires a nice struggle. She wants to make a game out of it, to enjoy the chase before her pursuers join in. She knows that it's more than a game to A'liran, though. To him, the fight means something. And so she supports him with both her own selfish desire for fun and a streak of sincerity that only he can see. He knows she is his eternal ally against the darkness of the world. She will always stand beside him, and at the end of the day when they are put in their place, she will be there to wrap around him and keep him safe...the one thing he wants most.

You….you cow!

A’liran slammed the door to his hut and stomped away, knowing well that he lived too far out to hope to get anywhere on foot. Astoreth shrieked impatiently and slammed her tail into the dust like an agitated feline.

[color=#00cd66]Don’t walk away from me!
she snapped. You haven’t even BEGUN to explain your idiotic behavior! A’liran stopped dead in his tracks and spun around, raising both hands in the universal gesture of displeasure.  “Well, fuck you too, missy!”

Astoreth hissed in displeasure.  Oh! Your middle fingers! I am so distraught! she taunted, but A’liran knew the truth. He laughed and slammed his hand against his chest in triumph, knowing well that the irritable dragon was completely outraged by the gesture.

Fine the dragon hissed. Be that way!

A’liran turned his back on her and walked away, smirking.  “Don’t mind if I do!” he said. Oh, her anger put a spring in his step! He walked along, practically glowing with amusement in spite of the long string of curses that she sent rattling through his brain.

Of course, he wasn’t the only one who was glowing. The harpy herself was glossy with her impending flight. Everyone around would know, too. It was the only time the pair fought like an old married couple. It was the only time they ever fought at all! But boy, they seemed determined to show the whole Weyr how it was done.

A’liran paused suddenly, his eyes widening in acute surprise.  Ast? he asked suddenly, totally serious. The overwrought, proddy  rage he’d been channeling settled for a moment as he felt a jotl of sincere distress from her.

Then came the screech.

Yes!

A’liran laughed devilishly and took off at a sprint. Astoreth’s shadow passed overhead, and they were off.

Lump
a lyrical subheading

[color=#ffffff]Name:
Lump
Pronounced: Lump
Colour: Bronze
Date of Birth: 04.01.233 AL

General Appearance: Fucking Adorable, albeit lumpy
    First turn:
    Adulthood:
    Scars & Markings:

Personality:
Likes: Females of any species, chewing on things, preening
Dislikes: Males of any species (Ali doesn't count; he's not a proper male), being told what to do, being dirty.
Habits/Mannerisms: Lump likes to lay on people. If he likes you, he will lay on you. Nothing can prevent this.
Strengths: Cute. That's pretty much all he has going for him.
    Weaknesses: Fat. Bitter. Lonely.
General Personality: Lump thinks he's quite the catch. He loves showing off and is generally haughty, but with a distinct lack of grace and even intelligence that definitely does not work in his favor. He is at best an awkward beauty, insistent in his own superiority and demanding of other people's attention and space. Lump tends to get sad quite easily, too. Ali appears to be the only fellow male that he much cares for, though. The rest are servants at best, chew toys at worst. He has a pseudo-antagonistic, co-dependent relationship with A'liran which is expressed by mutual scolding, but in the end the pair like each other quite more than they would admit.

[size=20pt]Bastard
a lyrical subheading
[size=8pt]
[color=#ffffff]Name:
Bastard
Pronounced: Bass-terd
Colour: Bronze
Date of Birth: 05.02.233

General Appearance:
    First turn:
    Adulthood:
    Scars & Markings:

Personality:
Likes: Being petted, being in charge, being useful
    Dislikes: Loud noises, screeching, whining
Habits/Mannerisms: Bastard likes to make creepy eye contact with people.
Strengths: Valorous, discreet, clever, well-behaved, polite
Weaknesses: Pushy, arrogant, hard to please, vindictive, temperamental
General Personality: Bastard is elegant and poised, a perfect little gentlemen. He seems to think his purpose in life is to keep Lump in check, often scolding the other bronze when he gets out of hand. If Lump is all bark and no bite, then Bastard is all bite and no bark. The little flit is generally placid, polite and well-trained, but if something offends him too greatly, he turns into a furious little monster. He hates to suffer such indignities of course, and is generally much easier to get along with then his bronze companion. Bastard is awfully loyal to Ali, though, and makes a point of watching out for him.
