Madelan could feel his eyes drift closed and a deep feeling of exhaustion swelling inside him. The need to curl around the egg in the hot sand was palpable and he jerked his hand away. He didn't like that. Didn't like the idea that a dragonet could take some much control of him, could lull his mind into thoughtlessness enough to actually fall asleep without conscious thought. His movement was slow and languid, the sense of sleepiness still lingering as he moved away. "Fuck that," he muttered as he left that egg to find another.

He found one, in the center of a small batch and laid his hand against the side. This one better be a little less able to control him.

Egg #40

Apparently, Landen was going to get a majority of dragons that he could be down with impressing. Patience wasn't his strong suit but the slow and easy way the dragonet took him with them made Landen comfortable enough to relax even more. He liked this one, a dragon after his own heart it seemed and he got the sense that it was studying him just as deeply as he felt like he was. What an interesting little thing, he thought as he slipped his hand from the side of the egg and moved off to find another. These were all interesting interactions, better than some he supposed. He'd seen others having issues, getting angry or hurt. Landen counted himself lucky that it was them and not him.

His lips curved into a smirk as he shifted away and searched out his next egg to touch. He brushed passed by Aederyn to reach for the egg she'd just finished with. Maybe he'd touched her, maybe he hadn't but he was still wondering if she was as hot and fiery as that red hair was. He was chuckling when he laid his hand against the side of the egg.

Egg #8

Zoremet let out a long sigh as he lingered with the soothing presence. It was nice to be reassured, even though he got a lot of encouragement from his friends and siblings it was just something else to feel a tiny unborn dragon express those thoughts and sentiments. It was inspiring even. When he finally pulled away he thought he could be happy Standing again, even hopeful.

There was a temptation to go find another egg to meet, but he took a deep breath and decided against it. He'd had enough emotional swings for one morning, and R'dal's earlier offer to go hide away in his weyr sounded quite appealing. He could even get to work on that hat for him, maybe finish it if he was dedicated enough. Zoremet looked around to make sure no one was near before quietly saying goodbye and thanking the egg before he made his way back out.

He had a lot to think about from the eggs he'd touched, and having a friendly face and cuddle would probably help. And at east he was glad that he was able to end the Touching on a higher note than if he'd run away with his tail between his legs like he'd wanted to earlier.

With a sigh and small laugh, Aederyn stepped back from the egg. This had been good. No, better than that. This had been amazing. What a unique experience… If she didn’t Impress any of this clutch, which she did desperately hope she would, she also hoped that future Touchings she participated in would be as satisfying.

Giving the egg a final pat, she turned, nearly running into another candidate as she did so. With a small start, she sidestepped, and he brushed past her to reach for the egg she’d just left. Landen again…He was chuckling under his breath, and she couldn’t help but feel that somehow it was at her expense. Well, she wouldn’t let it spoil her good experience here. She could deal with it later.

For now, she’d just bask in the approval she’d gotten from the eggs she touched, and think on what the first dragonet had latched on to…Mulling over the thoughts, questions, and feelings she got from the Touching, she quietly made her way back to the group starting to form at the entrance to the Sands.
