The Hatching had been a couple of weeks earlier and Azrin knew he could have returned to the Weyr sooner than he currently was but he not only had some business dealings to tend to, he also wanted to continue making his goldrider sweat it out. He hadn’t heard from her nor her from him and that was fine. It would make his return that much more impactful, especially once she learned everything he had done on her behalf. Well, mostly it was done for his own intentions and well-being but she was a pretty little part of overall schemes and keeping her in a good light and happy made him happy.

He supposed he could have attended the Hatching itself, more for the Hold’s benefit than Casa’s, but he didn’t want her getting the wrong idea, that he would support her bad decisions and constantly be there to hold her hand when times were tough. She had made the mistake and she could suffer it alone while he cleaned up what he could. Besides, M’ris and Ameris had sent word the clutch was small and wouldn’t be worth the time out of the Lords’ busy day to visit. That had helped tremendously and going against that idea wouldn’t have seen too out of the ordinary for him but Azrin didn’t want to start a trend with others going as well and learning the truth about the blue sire.

But today was a good day to reconnect and realign their goals. So he borrowed the good boy bluerider, Z’rin, to bring him to the Weyr where dragon politics took place briefly as Varralath asked Thallyath if he could land and deliver a guest—one Azrin asked be passed along was a surprise. Honestly, he didn’t know what he would be walking in on given the sex addict he’d created but it was bound to amuse him regardless.

“My golden lady, I trust you’re well.” Azrin greeted Thallyath after the blue pair took off again. He didn’t expect a verbal reply and wasn’t disappointed when he received a nod in acknowledgement. Thallyath may have wanted to kill him after he popped Casa’s cherry and caused her a bit of pain but that urge seemed to have died down quickly and they got along after that.

“I’m glad to see you haven’t ceased in your studies while I’ve been away,” Azrin stated as way of announcing his presence. He truly was surprised and happy to see Casa at her desk, hunched over papers that were covering the surface. He couldn’t say what she was working on but at least she was applying herself to something and that was impressive. She was a clever girl and her intelligence was being wasted by not being given more stimulating things to learn.

Guest, Thallyath said, and Casa looked up, lifting her brows, before going back to her work. Thallyath didn’t say who it was – she rarely did – but Casa knew by the way the little gold spoke. She had a fondness of Azrin that leaked into her words and attitude where the Lord was concerned, and Casa rolled her eyes, dropping her attention back to the records she was re-writing. Apparently, it was of the upmost importance that she rewrite every known record of every damnedable Weyrleader that Ista Weyr had seen… how many clutches, how many golds, how many transfers. Casa was having a wonderful time – no sarcasm at all! – but she was particularly irritated with the why of it all. The impression she got was ‘we’re too important. Dumb Blondie can do it’. Casa had been quite irritated when she’d accidentally overheard the nickname, but she couldn’t remember if it was actually M’ris that had spoken it, or one of his lackies. Didn’t matter.

“My Lord,” Casa drawled, lifting an eyebrow at Azrin but not bothering to get up and greet him. “Fancy seeing you here. I do hope you’ve been well.” Her mild voice carried all the eyerolls she wasn’t wasting the energy on displaying, as she set her pen aside and picked up a wineglass, sipping the white wine, swirling it as she lifted her eyebrow at him again. Locked up in the Weyr as she had been prior to the Hatching, Casa hadn’t been able to do much but suffer the gossip and disgust within the Weyr; she wasn’t at all surprised that anyone of any standing had distanced themselves from her, least of all the Lordling who took so much pride in the image he presented to the world. Since he was back in her weyr, Casa was pretty sure it meant he had figured out how to turn the situation to his side.

Of course, if he’d only come in the middle of the night when no one could see him, she’d have said his wife had stopped putting out and he couldn’t find anyone else to bury himself in. But since it was smack on lunchtime (which reminded her she hadn’t eaten for hours) and he’d come on dragon back, Casa figured he wasn’t ashamed of her existence and their working relationship any longer. Lowering her glass, Casa decided to respond to his comment about her studies, her expression wry. “There hasn’t been a whole lot else to do,” she said drolly, before throwing an arm over the back of her chair, and she smirked at Azrin. “Study, Sex and Sleep. My three favourite activities.” Because with or without Azrin to warm her bed, fill her cunt, or feed her brain, she hadn’t been lacking in any of those activities!

Casa pretending she wasn’t bothered one way or another about his arrival was adorable. It also showed she was taking his lessons seriously. He had pointed out on several occasions that she was a goldrider and should behave as such, especially around those that would constantly be judging her and looking down upon her. She held little power now compared to the pre-plague times but the Weyrwoman did still control the vast portion of the Weyr and would have some sway over the Weyrleader. Azrin intended to make Casa into the perfect Weyrwoman for his use and that meant getting her the right attitude. He could appreciate her attempts to pull that card out now but he was her teacher; she wouldn’t be able to get away with much with him.

“Good. Shows my belief that you’re more than a dumb Weyr whore hasn’t been a waste of my time.” Of course he thought that exactly of her when he found her in the shady herb store that fateful day but the girl had been smart enough to ask questions about the various products he had made sure she brought home and he’d seen the spark of actual interest there. It was a bit odd to have a pupil in both mundane herbs and toxicology as well as political connections between Holds, but it was refreshing as well. It was why he’d bothered fixing her reputation at all. She was, admittedly, useful.

Azrin removed the messenger bag he’d been wearing. It had a collection of items for the visit but he ignored them all in favour of pulling out the glass bottle of scotch. He saw Casa drinking white wine and assumed it was a basic Tillek and he sighed inwardly. They needed to get to lessons on what was actually good and what to drink and when. She needed to be savvy in such areas for everything he had in mind. The first lesson would be now, on how to sip and appreciate a good scotch over a conversation—typically in the evening, before bed. But an afternoon of reforging alliances was a good exception.

He helped himself to two glasses that would serve well enough and began the process of opening the new bottle and pouring two fingers’ worth into each glass. “Pop quiz. What do you do when offered a drink by someone you’re not entirely sure is trustworthy?” Azrin grinned as he held out a glass to Casa. He had told her early into their relationship and he wanted to make sure she remembered and hoped she practiced it often. Still not drinking his own glass as he waited for an answer, Azrin moved to the couch and sprawled into the corner of it, settling in. He had no intention of leaving until a few things were discussed.

Casa continued to watch Azrin with that mild, unreadable expression. She’d gotten quite good at it, ever since Thallyath’s Flight. Since the Touching. Since the Hatching. Every event had just driven home how important it was to not fall apart while everyone was staring at her. Whispering about her; yelling at her. There were so many people Casa wanted to tell to fuck off. So many she wanted to beat up like a spunky no-rules greenrider who got called out to one too many times while Proddy. But she didn’t. She kept her chin up and her face blank and cried herself to sleep when no one was around to see. Or got fucked into oblivion by those of her friends and lovers that weren’t avoiding her like a Plague carrying firelizard.

Even so, there was a hint of wary suspicion as Casa watched Azrin; she knew enough about him, and about the things he had taught her, the things he had promised to teach her, to know the man was quite deadly. Oh, he had never come out and said anything, of course, but Casa knew how to do addition, and she’d always been good at reading between the lines. While Azrin wasn’t overly subtle - she wasn’t sure if that was because he wanted her to know, or because he genuinely thought she was denser than she was, the fact that he never outright said anything worried Casa, not that she would say anything. She knew he was dangerous, he knew hse knew, but Casa wasn’t convinced he knew that she knew how dangerous he was.

Enough, Thallayth groaned mentally, and Casa’s expression broke for a moment as she glanced towards her dragon, before looking back at Azrin as he started moving around. She frowned.

Even before Azrin started to speak, as soon as Casa realised what he was doing - honestly, that he was even in the Weyr - she hadn’t had any intention of eating or drinking anything he had been near. She wasn’t sure how determined he might be to eliminate their relationship if he so decided and she knew she was expendable. Everyone thought so, and while Casa disagreed on principal, she wasn’t stupid. Azrin was a master at his craft, and even as novice as she was Casa knew about a lot of slow release poisons that would leave him innocent. No one would know who had killed her, or why, but she would. Casa could feel Thallyath’s disdain, but she could also tell her dragon knew that Casa was right, in a way that Casa rarely received from Thallyath. Thallyath was a lot like everyone else, in her way. Treating Casa like she was dumb and useless.

“You throw it back in their face,” Casa said, her words tangled between saccharine and snide, expression innocent and full of the airheaded impression everyone had of her. Despite her words, she took the drink delicately and watched Azrin as he made himself comfortable. She continued to stare at him, not blinking, even as she gave the glass a little swirl and let the smell of the amber liquid float up to her nose; she knew that if he did poison it, he wouldn’t have used anything she’s detect in such a manner, but she wasn’t going to dismiss the chance, either. Casa could feel Thallayth’s disquiet, the gold dragon’s emotions spiking as she realised that her rider might actually be in danger and not just thinking wild thoughts.

Casa didn’t take a sip - didn’t even pretend to - as she set the glass down carefully and leaned forward, sitting up straight in her chair and giving Azrin a thoughtful look. “Tell me about Lord Tazikel.” Casa had done her own research, but all she got was the general knowledge (which is what she knew she would get). Azrin would know a lot more, and she wanted to know what he knew about the Lordling her friend was so enamoured with.

Such petulance. He really was dealing with a child. Did she think this was the way to make allies? He had put too much time and effort in moulding her into what he needed and wanted to give up on the bitch now but she was close to pricking at his temper. He wouldn't lower himself to her baiting words or even the lack of pretending to drink--which was worth half points anyway. Just because it had been a sealed bottle didn't mean anything. He could have poisoned it before resealing it himself, after all. He gave her an amused grin before tossing back his entire drink--a waste of fine scotch meant to be savoured, but it proved how childish she was being that he'd poison her on such an open visit.

He set the glass down and studied her when she mentioned Tazikel's name. Where had that come from and why was it more important than his own visit and the reason for it? "If you recall your studies, he's the second son of Tillek Hold." Was this her own random game? He tested her and now she was testing him? Had she learned they had been somewhat close years before and this was a test of confiding personal information? He wasn't sure what would be gained from that knowledge but shared it anyway. "Oh and he fostered at High Reaches Hold for years where he was a personal pupil of mine. Both of us being second sons with ambitions." Tazikel's ambitions were more along the line of 'but I want to shirk all of my duties and play like Jalazmar does!' and Azrin was happy to comply in showing him the ways of getting out of things but he also taught him a few other important life lessons, though he didn't think Tazikel ever took them to heart. Probably had something to do with the boy worshiping his older brother while Azrin wanted to murder his.

"What, exactly, has inspired an interest in Tazikel? Is adorable Kordiavis pretending to be a Lord again and bringing up his connections with Aldra and Tazikel?" He watched her face closely, checking to see if she knew Kordiavis knew Tazikel, or even how close his relationship to Aldra was. It didn't seem like it, which was unsurprising. Kordiavis always stuck to himself when he wasn't with his two lordling protectors and he had a feeling the judgmental brat saw Casa as a waste of his time and wouldn't have shared any information with her.

“I’m aware of that,” Casa said, mildly amused that Azrin appeared to think she’d have forgotten everything just because he wasn’t around. She shook her head slightly, but wasn’t disappointed when he continued. Casa pursed her lips thoughtfully, studying the lord before her. His words sent a chill down her spine, honestly, but all she let herself show was curious consideration.

The bringing up of Kordiavis and Aldra has Casa lifting her eyebrows slightly, and she shook her head with a small smile “I don’t think so,” she said, blinking at Azrin, “I overheard his name in the Dining Hall, and he attended the Hatching. Kordi must have invited him.” That was a lie. She knew T’ryn had brought him, and that he had done so for Mylorah. Azrin didn’t need to know that, mostly because Casa didn’t want him poking around Mylorah; her friend was far too sweet for Azrin and Casa trusted her teacher and lover with her friends about as far as she could throw Thallyath. She heard her dragon snort, but ignored her.

She brushed a hand over her face and grimaced, “though I’m not sure why he would,” she said, looking off to the side thoughtfully. In the hypothetical where Kordidavis was the one inviting Tazikel, Casa couldn’t think of a reason the apparently ambitious lord would bother to attend a shameful blue-sired clutch. Sighing, Casa picked up the glass of scotch and sniffed it, this time out of legitimate curiosity - Casa hadn’t ever drink anything outside of wine - and scrunched her nose up before sipping it delicately. She very nearly spit it across the table in shock.

Instead, with her eyes watering, Casa choked down the sip she’d taken, breath exploding out of her in a gasp as she stared at the drink and then at Azrin, coughing. “Faranth. Fuck,” her voice was husky and she wiped at her face. “It burns!” She placed a hand on the flat of her stomach, eyes wide. She knew that Azrin couldn’t have poisoned her (unless he poisoned the glass..?) so that meant the damned booze was liquid fire and that astounded Casa!

Azrin didn't believe Casa was telling him the entire truth. He wasn't even sure any of what she said was true, other than Tazikel had been at the Hatching and that annoyed him more than her lying. After all of his work and even with the Weyrleader telling Lords not to waste their time coming out for a small clutch, a Lord managed to get in. At least it was Tazikel. The boy had the attention span of a firelizard and potentially didn't even notice the clutch parents. There was also the chance no one would believe him if he did say the sire was blue. Still, it looked like he was going to have to visit Tillek again soon. Joy.

"Scotch is an acquired taste, which is why I brought it for you today." Casa's bravery at trying the drink was the perfect segue from Tazikel and Kordiavis to his true purposes for being there. "It's typically more of a men's drink but you should have a taste for it as well for the odd times someone offers it to you and expects you to actually drink it and hang with the big boys. You'll learn to read which Lords will be impressed by it and which ones you should politely decline."

He rose from the couch, snatching his glass as he went to return to the bottle of scotch. He held it up for a moment, letting it try to catch the light to show off it's gorgeous amber colour before pouring more into his own glass. "We have quite a bit of wines and other liquors for you to learn and appreciate but this one will likely be the one that takes you the longest to tolerate. So this bottle is yours to continue enjoying for the next two weeks. And this," Azrin reached into his bag and pulled out a finely crafted dress that he draped over the back of a chair, "is what you'll wear at the end of those two weeks. But more on that in a moment. I have something I think both you and Thallyath will want to hear about that whole blue ordeal."

Scooping up his drink, Azrin returned to lounging on the couch and took a sip of his scotch, this time savouring it as intended. It really was a good blend and yet another example why he preferred this particular crafter. By the time he was done with her, Casa would have the finest taste and appreciation for such things. But first, he would see if she was capable of gratitude.

“I apologise for my lack of visits lately but I've been a tad busy running damage control. Lord Ista is enamoured with dragonriders at the moment so he was easy enough to convince that a blue winning a gold was both preposterous and a rumour started by bored simpletons looking to cause trouble. I then had to work the new truth into the masses, getting the right people to believe what I wanted them to believe before they set about continuing my work for me. As far as anyone is concerned, a brown or bronze won Thallyath’s maiden Flight. The clutch was small because she is and the continued heat and droughts not only affect the land but the dragons as well, which is why some didn’t make it. Is that all to your liking, ladies?” Not that they had a choice. It was all done and now fact. But now they knew the truth of what they had supposedly been through and could answer questions properly when they were around Holders again. The only thing he couldn't alter was the official Harper report but that would soon be filed and forgotten about, especially when the masses had no interest in gossip about past Flights and Hatchings.

Casa lifted her eyebrows, but didn’t say anything. Scotch was disgusting and she really didn’t want to acquire a taste for it; she could still feel it burning the back of her throat and the after taste was nasty. She knew there was no point in arguing, however, so she just nodded once and eyed the liquid still in the glass she held. Learning to appreciate other ‘wines and liquors’ sounded promising, though. Casa figured no wine could be more difficult to appreciate than Katilan, and she wondered with mild amusement if Azrin had ever tasted the concocted moonshine the dragonriders had desperately created. She doubted it, but when it was the only alcohol you had any access to, you drank it. Besides, for as crap as it tasted, it was potent and Casa remembered several parties that started with Katilan Wine, and ended in blackness and terrible hangovers. Good times!

The dress that was presented quirked Casa’s curiosity, and she eyed it from where she was sitting with interest. She wasn’t quite invested yet to get up and inspect it, but she was genuinely charmed by the new gift (much more so than the booze) and she smiled teasingly, the order to be wearing the dress in two weeks’ time hopefully promising some delicious sex and no scotch! Her playful expression faded into a frown at the bringing up of Thallyath’s maiden clutch, and she felt Thallyath’s disquiet and heard the dragon shift slightly on her stone couch, knowing she was more ashamed of the whole ordeal than Casa was. Of course, Thallyath snidely blamed Faxxonth for just about all of it, but Casa didn’t. She was more inclined to want to punch everyone that did blame Thallyath, though. Her dragon did not pollute the eggs with sour emotions!

Casa pursed her lips and frowned at Azrin, waiting to hear what he had to say, but quite prepared to tell him to fuck off and never come back. Her eyebrows furrowed slightly as he spoke, but her expression otherwise didn’t waver, eyes narrowed just slightly, cautious and suspicious. Casa continued to stare at Azrin when he finished speaking, though she could feel Thallyath’s approval for his work Casa wasn’t convinced. There was a game being played, that went beyond his apparent amusement for teaching young goldriders questionable things. Casa enjoyed their time together, and she enjoyed learning everything from poisons to politics from the Lord before her, but she had very obviously mis-judged his investment and she certainly had no idea what his long-term goal was. She was, however, very aware that he obviously had one.

But how did she fit into it? Casa could feel Thallyath’s irritation when she didn’t immediately accept the work Azrin had done, but Casa felt the first true tingles of fear. Azrin was powerful. Azrin was dangerous, and Azrin had a plan that involved her, and she had no idea what it was. Casa dropped her gaze to the glass of scotch, and considered the amber liquid for a few moments before looking back up at Azrin. “Thank you,” she said slowly, watching his expression carefully. She considered her next words, before deciding to just be blunt, opting not to play coy when she wanted an actual answer. Times and places, after all, had been an early lesson. “What do you get out of all this?” Casa asked frankly, leaning forward slightly and peering at him. She wasn’t sure if she should use the more familiar route of his name, or throw his rank at him, and so she opted to just go with the question itself.

Azrin saluted Casa’s gratitude with his glass in a simple gesture and took another sip, considering the best way to answer her question. He felt like Casa was beginning to understand what he could accomplish if he so wished and she was taking his reappearance seriously now. That realisation of hers earned her the truth as straightforward as she had been with the direct question that wasn’t filled with her cute games or attempts at a power play. “I get many things out of it. The most important one being that we are rather entwined now and cleaning up your reputation keeps mine as clean as always.” He liked that everyone thought he was as kind as his baby face made him appear. People trusted him and relied on him. No one suspected what he was truly capable of if he felt like trying.

“I’m going to be completely honest with you because I think you’re ready to start learning more and what’s in store. At first you were just a goldrider that was a good fuck. Then you quickly became a goldrider that was a good fuck but also smart and absorbed information quickly which I liked. I enjoy teaching you what I know and I think you’re going to be useful in getting us things that will make us sit even prettier. Especially, when you become a Weyrwoman.” He didn’t think that would happen for at least five, maybe ten years. But outside of the three that already ruled Weyrs, Casa was the next most senior goldrider and it made sense she’d eventually be picked and he wanted to have her wrapped around his finger as tightly as possible. Just like he had done with Ista’s heir. He didn’t want to rule, but he could whisper to the ones that did and enjoy the benefits.

“I’m going to use you to make my life easier which will also give you the skills to see to it that you take what you want and keep it. This dress, for example,” Azrin stood and set his glass down by the bottle. He’d return to it later but for now focused on the soft material that he held up for Casa to see more clearly. “In two weeks, there will be a party hosted at the Hold and I wish for you to attend. Mostly for the usual putting in an appearance but also because there is a certain Lord that I think you can charm into supporting the Weyr. You’re good at public speaking and could charm him with facts but I also think you’d get a thrill out of finding a private corner and fucking him into your way of thinking.”

He set the dress back down and walked over to Casa, grabbing her arm to yank her to her feet and hold her close to his chest. “Together, we can control how people think and remove anyone that gets in the way of our fun. Think of what we can accomplish together.” Azrin whispered the last line against Casa’s ear before giving her lobe a sharp nip. The promise of power was intoxicating and arousing for him and Azrin spun Casa around and held her again to his chest with one arm as the other had a hand sliding under her dress to cup a breast.

“Tell me the idea of manipulating men and women doesn’t turn you on, Cas. Tell me that you don’t get a thrill out of learning poisons and how you don’t crave what other devious things I know.” He could have easily taken everything away from Casa thanks to her own foolishness with the Flight and how inexperienced she was overall in the way of the world and Azrin knew she understood that now. She was also smart enough to know he wasn’t offering her empty promises and that it served her best interests to take up his offer—especially since turning it down would be a dangerous thing for her. He didn’t often share his grand schemes, and truthfully, he hadn’t spilled that many details either, just enough to pique her interest and gain her trust enough that she would stop fighting him and being a petulant child.

“And then tell me you don’t want me to bend you over your desk and fuck you like I did in the shop.”

Casa’s expression shifted subtly at Azrin answering her in a straightforward manner, though she snorted softly at him ‘cleaning up’ her reputation. Apparently, all the crap about her being a whore didn’t count as sullying his name, while her dragon being fucked by an upstart blue that didn’t know what colour he was, was? Casa gave Azrin a bemused look, but said nothing – at least for the moment. Lifting her glass once more, Casa braced herself before taking a tentative sip and swallowing it with a grimace. It was going to take a lot of work to get used to the burning alcohol!

Azrin startled a laugh out of Casa, the sound mocking and amused. “Weyrwoman?” She asked, snorting. “You are joking, right? No one will make me Weyrwoman.” She gave the Holder a look of bemused disgust, shaking her head. With or without him cleaning up her reputation outside of the Weyr, there was nothing eh could do to fix it inside the Weyr – especially after she’d taken such care to cultivate the impression that she was a stupid little whore without two braincells to rub together and a constant craving for dick. “Besides,” she said, frowning at Azrin. “What makes you think I want to be Weyrwoman?” Eyebrows arched upwards, but she didn’t really expect an answer. Azrin wasn’t the type to care about what she wanted – or anyone else he was playing games with – so long as he got his way.

Casa snorted again as Azrin pretty much answered her question by half ignoring her, half moving on with the conversation. Her eyes followed him, taking in the dress she was so curious about, but not doing any more. She wouldn’t deny the tingle of delighted anticipation, however, at the prospect of fucking some stuffy Holder in a corner of whatever Hold Azrin was going to drag her to. Probably Ista, but she wasn’t about to make assumptions. Azrin was as unpredictable as he was charming. Another thing he decided to prove, as he appeared before her while she was still studying the dress, and yanked her to her feet. Casa gasped, peering up at Azrin with wide-eyed surprise.

The fact that power was intoxicating to the man groping her was suddenly ridiculously clear to Casa, and while she ground back against Azrin’s groin and pushed her chest into his hand, the fact was tucked away in the back of her mind; something to think on later, when she wasn’t being teased with the promise of both sex and power. The words were empty air to Casa; she enjoyed learning for learning’s sake, what she could do with the things she was taught wasn’t the reason she studied. She studied because she enjoyed it – but she was more than happy to play along with Azrin’s impression there, and saw no reason to rebut the belief. Instead, she just moaned loudly at his wandering hands, the promise grinding against her arse.

She was so glad she hadn’t bothered to dress in more than her slip of a dress after her bath that morning!

“Everything, including life, is a game. Some have better rewards and some have more severe consequences for the loser,” Azrin continued to somewhat explain what he was up to even while one hand worked at the ties of his pants. He wasn’t going to give Casa every detail, at least not yet and perhaps maybe never, but she did need to know some of the rules. “I’m going to teach you how to play some of those games and teach you ways to ensure you win them,” he promised as he bent her over the desk and guided himself home.

It was a hard and dirty fuck like their first time in the tiny back room of a shop, serving as a reminder of what she had missed out on during her time of living with a loss of an important game. Even still, he wasn’t entirely selfish and worked her over until she climaxed before taking his own pleasure. Once satisfied, he guided her back down into her chair, handing over the glass of scotch that somehow survived the racket on the desk it had been sitting on.

Azrin tidied himself back up and went to fetch his own glass before returning to the couch, sinking into it with a sigh of contentment. He needed that. He loved his wife and they had sex regularly, but he’d never treat her the way he did any of his lovers. And lovers? Not too many of those in Ista. He knew to be careful and didn’t sleep with every woman he crossed paths with. So it had been a while since he gave it like that to a woman and as he studied Casa in her afterglow, Azrin suspected there would be a proper trip to her bed before he left that evening.

“Weyrwoman is years away,” Azrin returned to her initial point about possibly not wanting the job. He understood that, considering he no longer wanted the job of Lord Holder, but it wasn’t like she’d be doing much with that title anyway. And that was the point. He would train her in the ways of leading without leading; letting her Weyrleader think ideas were his own and how to get what she wanted while being all but ignored. He wasn’t from a Weyr but he was learning enough to know how things worked and that they weren’t all that different from a Hold.

“First we’ll work on simply having fun with stuffy Lords that aren’t playing nice while continuing our studies.” He took a sip of the scotch, savouring the rich taste as he held it in his mouth a moment before swallowing. “I have a couple of concoctions you might enjoy as well as a new tome on Ista for you to borrow.” He waved absently to his bag that still housed the book of older information on the families that ran Ista Hold and the history. Most of it was rather dry but it had some good tidbits that would be of interest to his little protégé.

Casa glided fuzzily to where Azrin directed her, her body thrumming and her head full of fog. She thoroughly enjoyed many of her lovers; T’ryn was gaining much more confidence and she was having a lot of fun exploring his innocent but fun kinks. There were others, of course, such as K’tir and Mylorah, but they’d been busier than not and everyone of them did sex so differently. It probably had a lot to do with Azrin being her first experience with sex, but Casa found they had a delicious chemistry. She didn’t know why, nor did she care. Certainly, there was no illusions of love from either of them, and while Casa was quite positive Azrin could and would kill her if he so desired, she also figured he was aware that while her efforts would be a lot clumsier, she could certainly wipe him off the map without too much issue. Quite literally, since her go-to would be Thallyath grabbing him in her pretty gold claws and just dropping him between. Maybe that was what caused the intensity?

Curling into the seat, Casa took the glass of scotch she was handed blindly, her gaze on the lap blanket she had over the arm of her chair. It was a clumsy, hand made piece she’d been bullied into creating during some goldrider lesson or something. Something about idle hands or whatever. At any rate, Casa rather liked it for the chillier nights and mornings. But at that present time, it was going to be a wonderful cum catcher. Drawing her legs up comfortably, Casa shoved the blanket between them so she wouldn’t completely ruin her chair with Azrin’s jizz, and eyed the glass of scotch for a moment before taking a cautious sip. She swallowed it with difficulty, and turned a frown on Azrin as he once more spoke of her being a Weyrwoman. Casa sighed.

She didn’t bother to argue the point. She knew from studies that the Weyrwoman used to be chosen by Flying after a previous Weyrwoman retired, and that the dragon who won would be Weyrleader. She also knew that the older dragonriders had changed the rules back in Katila, when Krypth was flying every other damned brown and bronze like a child who couldn’t pick their favourite food. Add in the extreme frequency of her flights, and Casa really wasn’t surprised that they decided to make adjustments. A Weyrleader changing every six to eight months would cause a lot of upset. Never knowing who would be in charge in the near future, hoping it wasn’t so and so or desperately praying that it would be. No, the current method was much better for everyone. However, it also didn’t guarantee that Casa would ever be selected. With the dragonriders choosing the Weyrleader, and the Weyrleader choosing his Weyrwoman, Casa had no doubt she wouldn’t be at the top of anyone’s list.

Seniority didn’t even matter; it was just coincidence that the current Weyrwomen were all bonded to the older golds, and there were a lot of other goldriders available, ones who didn’t come with the kind of gossip attached to Casa, no matter how much ‘cleaning up’ Azrin set out to do. He was rambling about Lords and studies, but Casa’s mind was still on the rather laughable idea of her being Weyrwoman. “Azrin,” she interrupted gently as he waved towards his bag. “All the current Weyrwomen were chosen by their Weyrleaders, and then approved by the other Weyrleaders.” She shook her head, leaning forward slightly. “Even you couldn’t clean up my reputation enough to be considered. There are over twenty goldriders, and only three un-opened Weyrs.” Her expression was bewildered. “Even if its years away, how are you planning to put me up for consideration, never mind being chosen?” It would take years just to get anyone at all to take her seriously, especially after the disaster of Thallyath’s maiden.

"My brothers Gabrin and Jalazmar live up to the charming phrase of 'bored lord' and while I may give off that impression to some, I don't sit idle at home. I've been doing some studying of my own and know all about the way the Weyrs work now and how many goldriders there are... and that you are the next most senior after the three already holding Weyrwoman titles. Holders will prefer the experienced rider over the older and more proper woman that's barely out of class. Besides," Azrin paused, sipping his scotch and giving Casa a moment to think on what he had already explained while anticipating what else he had to say.

"Your act of being pretty with an empty head is exactly why they will consider you. They don't expect you to have ideas but they will expect you to do as you're told by their chosen Weyrleader when you're not off fucking your flavour of the moment." Sure, his plans involved using her but he had told Casa that up front and he knew her to be a lot more intelligent than most believed. Her act, likely to get out of as much work as possible, would in the end help her get the top position and he was going to be there to ensure their ideas aligned and help her in the art of convincing the Weyrleader everything was his idea or a good idea despite coming from Casa.

"We have time to worry about that later on. I promise you will love your new lessons and the way I plan on teaching these ones." Like the lessons that involved the herbs and even the histories of Holds, the new ones would be very hands on and involve sex as incentives. He supposed giving her some skills and siccing her on some lords was a bit of a bigger step up, Azrin knew she'd find her way in the end.

"You only need to trust me," Azrin grinned and knew she didn't; at least not entirely. It was wise of her and he was a bit proud that the naive girl in the herb shop had wizened up a bit from being around him and any other experiences she wound up in at the Weyr. "At least as much as you did before, perhaps a bit more so my fragile ego won't shatter just yet. Just trust that I will share my knowledge with you and ensure that you are prepared for any situation."

He paused again, an idea striking him. "Would a dragon lie detector test make you feel better? I trust Thallyath to be an impartial judge and invite her to snoop around my head if you'd like. You can even ask me questions while she does." He knew enough to know he likely wouldn't be able to block out every thought or horrible deed he'd done in his life but Azrin was convinced he could mask the worst of it and try not to think about certain things. He was also good at lying and spinning the truth enough to make it seem like his version was the correct one. Could he fool a dragon? Maybe not but he'd just have to answer with as much truth as he dared... assuming Casa wanted to ask questions and why wouldn't she? This was the only time she was guaranteed some sort of truth.
