Much to Mylorah's disappointment, she couldn't sneak in to give her three newly Impressed friends a hug. So many official people running around to make sure the dragonets survived and there was a discussion on how to move them and to where. All she wanted was to give out a brief hug and congratulate her friends! So she had to settle with getting as close as possible to each one, calling out their nicknames she had for each of them so they knew it was her and wishing them lots of love and she'd see them soon.

Since that was the best she could do for the moment, Mylorah turned her focus to one very handsome Lord she still couldn't believe actually came. Of course he said he would when she invited him and she knew he wouldn't lie to her, but there had still been a small part of her that wasn't sure if she would see T'ryn arrive with Tazikel.

Considering how emotional she had been and how horrible the Hatching was, Mylorah now wished he hadn't come and she really hoped he was okay. This was at least his first Hatching at Ista, maybe in general, and it was a lot to take in. She was used to such tragedies, though she never truly got over them, but for a Lord to witness such things? She supposed it was a good thing the hatchlings were too weak to maul anyone so Tazikel didn't have to see human loss of life. She'd definitely seen enough of that between Hatchings and the landslide for them both.

She crossed the Sands over to where her family was still clustered together--probably talking about the Hatching, survival chances, and maybe interrogating Taziekl--and slapped on a smile that became more genuine the closer she got to everyone. Sure, she was happy to see them all together and to know they were there to support her, but it was a certain second son that had her skipping rest of the way, calling out "Sir Tazicurls!"

She threw herself at him, arms looping around his neck and mouth going to mouth for a long and hard kiss. It probably wouldn't have been considered appropriate to do such a thing in front of family or at a Hold but they were thankfully at a Weyr where her family wouldn't bat an eye at such an enthusiastic greeting.

And yeah, that kiss she really, really wanted, was exactly what she needed and just as amazing as she remembered it being.

When she finally came up for air, Mylorah smiled and turned her attention to T'ryn standing to their side, "thank you so much for bringing him!" Gratitude given, her attention went back to her guest.

"I'm so glad you came! Can you stay a bit? I can show you around if you're interested. We can start with my room because I need to change because look at this thing," she stepped back to show off the hideous robe and scrunched her face up in detest, really wishing she had thought the invitation to the Hatching through a bit more.

Mylorah held out her hand for him to hopefully take if he decided to come with her and smiled shyly, "I'm only the Lady of a forgotten dance floor now so I'll understand if you're busy, Sir Tazicurls."

Blonde and wavy, Tazikel wears his hair so that it ends a little past his ears. Due to the wave, it's a bit longer when damp. He's at that age where he can finally sorta grow a beard but it never really gets anywhere, so he keeps it fairly stubbly so it looks very intentional (even if he can't grow a proper beard).

Tazikel didn’t have a whole lot of experience with Hatchings, but even he could tell this one was not normal. For one, there were only six eggs; the Hatchings he’d been to at Fort always seemed to have at least thirty. And then the hatchlings kept dying, and the ones that lived looked close to it. Tazikel was no dragon expert but he was positive that’s not how it was supposed to go. Everyone was all angry and upset, and he kept having to pester T’ryn - who he’d decided he quite liked - with questions about what was going on. T’ryn had kindly answered them to the best of his ability, and while Tazikel was still fairly confused, he at least wasn’t completely lost.

Of course, having some idea what was going on didn’t stop him being worried about Mylorah. She had definitely cried, and it didn’t look like it was all a happy-relieved sort of crying. Also, apparently Mylorah and Kordiavis knew each other? They had been hugging and standing near each other for a while, anyway, and he was pretty sure she’d kissed him at one point, and he was definitely going to have to interrogate both of them about this, but for the moment the questions were pushed aside by concern. Tazikel hoped he’d get a chance to check in with her before he left - though he supposed he could just refuse to go back to Tillek until he’d seen her. T’ryn wasn’t going to force him on his dragon or anything, the guy was way too nice for that.

For the moment he waited anxiously with her family and friends - some of them, anyway, Tazikel assumed there were more people in both categories. Not the point. He’d been introduced to them all; T’ryn (bronze Syrendryth) was her brother, of course, and A’tay (bronze Xyxyth), who looked far too much like T’ryn to be anything but another brother (and he was introduced as such), though both were fairer than Mylorah. Then there was their father, R’nd (blue Ayyonth), and then B’jin (green Larrikith), who was a family friend or something. His son, N’mor (bronze Rhezalth), was also part of the group (he seemed to be close friends with T’ryn), and then another friend who tended to shadow N’mor, Z’rin (blue Varralath). It was one of the rare occasions Tazikel was actually thankful his upbringing included learning family trees and being forced to learn lots of people’s names and families and events. Made keeping it all straight just a bit easier, even with being distracted by the drama of the Hatching and worrying about Mylorah. He assumed they were waiting for her to come over? Since they were just milling about and not going anywhere. Tazikel was just following T’ryn’s lead, since he seemed to be his escort for the day and also mostly know what was going on.

After too long and probably not very long at all Mylorah made her way over to the group of them. To Tazikel’s surprise, she went straight to him, calling out the nickname she’d given out and skipping - goodness, Mylorah bounced through emotions quickly, didn’t she - towards them. He’d have thought she’d go to one of her brothers or her father first, but Tazikel supposed he was the exciting new person which gave him more of a draw for the moment. Then, of course, Mylorah threw him completely for a loop by kissing him. It wasn’t a chaste kiss either, which Tazikel wasn’t against, but her father and brothers were right there. And they barely seemed to react! As far as Tazikel could tell, anyway, and admittedly he wasn’t giving them all that much of his attention. Mylorah kissing him was much more interesting, and after the initial surprise of her kissing him in public, in front of her family, wore off - which took less than a second, after all, when in a Weyr - and kissed back.

After she released him, and he caught enough breath to speak, he smiled at her and assured her he had time. “No one but you has any claim on me for the rest of the day,” he said, and took the offered hand. “Never fear, dear Lady, there will always be another dance floor, so as long as people still dance, you retain your title.”

He decided to put aside the fact Mylorah had just invited him to her bedroom in front of her father for a moment and just go with it. If she didn’t seem bothered by it - and the implications of it - then he didn’t need to be either. Tazikel let himself be pulled along, out of the Hatching grounds, down a few hallways, and into a small room. Mylorah’s room, and considering it had four beds she probably had a roommate or two, though there was no one else in the room when they arrived. The door wasn’t even closed before she’d dropped his hand and was shucking off the Candidate robe - he didn’t disagree that it wasn’t the most flattering article of clothing, but it really wasn’t as bad as she was acting - and almost started to avert his eyes before remembering Mylorah clearly didn’t care, and while he didn’t gawk at her, Tazikel didn’t look away.

"I hope my family didn't bother you too much. I know how nosy they can be," Mylorah tossed a slightly worried look over her shoulder before going back to her task of finding a dress in her trunk. She didn't have a large collection to begin with but she wanted to find one that was particularly cute and that Tazikel would potentially like and not be offended by. She had learned recently that each Hold had their own colours and she had lucked out with the dress worn to the Gather being close to Tillek's shade of blue. That didn't mean she'd learned all the colours of all the Holds and now Mylorah worried she'd wear something that matched a rival.

Unless she wanted to wear the same dress he'd already seen her in or simply go naked, Mylorah finally grabbed a simple pale green dress that was cut in her preferred style of sleeveless and just above the knee. Twirling once to show it off, Mylorah smiled as she worked her hair free from the up style from the Hatching. She typically liked having it down until the heat of the day became too much and it was tossed back up. She was still wearing her sturdy boots but they were comfortable so they stayed on, only partially conscious to the fact that it likely didn't go with the dress but in the end, she didn't care.

"Okay! Well, my good Sir, is there anywhere in particular you want to see first?" She may have purposely been ignoring talking about the Hatching and focusing on something to do that could be fun. If they talked about it, all her emotions she was ignoring would come flooding out and Mylorah really didn't want to cry again in front of Tazikel or explain her fears. He didn't need any of that and she was also afraid to ask him what he thought of the Hatching. At least it seemed like he was doing okay and that kiss earlier reassured her he wasn't sorry he came.

“Nah, they were fine,” Tazikel assured her with a shake of his head, “T’ryn fielded most of the questions for me, anyway. Nice man, your brother. I’m sure the others are nice too, but I didn’t speak to them as much,” he shrugged, then smiled appreciatively at Mylorah’s twirl. “Lovely,” he told her, and he meant it.

He’d wondered if showing him around had only been an excuse to leave the rest of her family and get him to her room (he wouldn’t have complained if it was), but from her question it sounded like she did intend to give him something of a tour of the Weyr. “Ah, nowhere in particular,” he admitted, “I’ve never been beyond the bounds of a Hatching before, so you’ve already shown me more than I’ve ever seen of a Weyr. I’m not even sure what there is to see, honestly.” Tazikel tilted his head, considering.

“I have to ask though, is inviting a strange man to your bedroom in front of your father a common occurrence at Weyrs, or is that a you thing?” Tazikel asked, genuinely curious. He’d believe either. Weyrs sounded like the kind of place such openness was normal, though Mylorah with her vivacious personality could get away with it even if it weren’t. Maybe it was a family trait, even.

Mylorah considered the question, tapping her pointer finger on her chin before giving a little shrug, "both? Probably more of a me thing, though. Katiryn's dad thinks she's a lot more innocent than she actually is so I doubt she'd greet a handsome stranger in the same way in front of K'tir. But I've only known my dad for a few months as well so his opinions and reactions don't have any impact on me." She thought a moment longer and shrugged again, "though I don't think I'd have changed anything even if he had raised me from childbirth."

She wondered if Tazikel would ask more questions about her family now that she had pointed out the whole 'dragonrider dads don't usually stick around' thing and how that was one of the things Holders often found scandalous. She'd happily explain it all to him, though, and even bring him to T'ryn's weyr to show him the family tree since their father in particular was an interesting case to study.

"We can hang out here if you prefer to chat for a bit. There's not much that exciting to see, really. We can go get drinks in the dining cavern and I can show you T'ryn's weyr so you can see what dragonriders live in. But I doubt you'd be all that interested in the kitchens or laundry room... we can stroll down to the feeding area and the bay, though you and your layers might not enjoy that much." Mylorah giggled as she poked fun at his clothing again as she stepped in close and looped her arms around his neck. Honestly she did like how the layers looked on him. It was just frustrating to get him out of the clothing when certain emotions were running high.

"I'm at your mercy, Sir Tazicurls. What do you desire?"

“Even if it’s not exciting it’s still new to me and I’d love to see anywhere you’re willing to show me,” Tazikel assured her. Exploring was one of his favorite activities, and would never turn down the opportunity, no matter how boring it may appear. “Kitchens and laundry rooms can be entertaining in the right company,” he added, smiling at Mylorah, “and I imagine we’ll be able to chat no matter where we are.” He leaned into her, resting his hands on her waist when she looped her arms around him.

“Outside sounds like a good place to start, I think. My layers shouldn’t be an issue, I’m rather used to them. Although,” he added, lowering his voice, “if they become a problem I’m sure you can help me remove a layer or two.” Tazikel dropped his hands a little lower, pulling her hips in closer to his. Originally he meant only to tease Mylorah a tiny bit, but ultimately he couldn’t resist giving her a long kiss. Before it got anywhere further Tazikel pulled back, stepping out of her arms and moving towards the door.

“Shall we?” he asked, holding out his arm for her to take.

Curse this gorgeous and charming Lord! Mylorah pouted as he ended the kiss and walked to the door but she didn't stay annoyed with him for long as she took the offered arm and smiled at him. He was quite possibly a bigger tease than she was! She was disappointed he didn't want to stay in the room, especially after that kiss, but there would be plenty of time to tease him back on their tour and see where it left them.

"Well, to start off, that was more or less what Candidates live in though some are larger with more beds and we use the communal baths down the hall." She didn't take him down to see those since it felt like people were always in them. It was why she usually wandered off to one of the further away ones even though she was likely to still find someone there.

She led them across the Bowl, pointing out various entrances or ledges that she didn't really expect Tazikel to remember since he didn't have a need to. She did, however, detour them to the weyrling dorms to give him a quick peek inside since she saw the young class outside doing a lesson. "This is where the newly Impressed usually go after a Hatching." On their way out, Mylorah had overheard other Candidates talking about how the three that just Impressed would be getting a special weyr to help keep them isolated and monitored. That was both a good thing and a scary thing because yay for keeping everyone safe and alive but she hated that it was needed. She didn't call attention to it at the time and still really didn't now, since that would require her giving in to her emotions on the whole ordeal and Mylorah wanted to stay positive and show her guest a good time. "They stay here for several months until the dragons are too big and prove they can handle living on their own. Then they get their own weyr."

She let Tazikel look around a moment longer before taking his arm again and returning them to their trek across the Weyr to the corral with the plateau and bay beyond it. She had suggested the bay, but they likely wouldn't go down there, unless Tazikel wanted to sneak away for a bit and she was totally okay with that. She loved spending time with him and knew they could spend the day talking and she wouldn't get bored--it likely helped that they had completely different upbringings with a lot to share.

"So first up, Ista is the only Weyr that doesn't have its own lake because of the missing wall here that leads to the bay, so that's kind of cool. And this is where the dragons will usually hunt and our livestock live here as well, though I'm not sure what counts as what. I'm sure they're penned off differently but the closest I've come to all of this, other than standing at the fence, is when I help churn the butter." Mylorah flexed to show off her biceps, which she thought were kind of impressive but still laughed as well. She wasn't nearly as strong or buff as a dragonrider.

"And the few horses we keep for errands in the Hold." She still wasn't sure why people would want or use a horse with dragons around but she kind of saw the logic in a horse and wagon being stocked up instead of constant trips with smaller loads on a dragon. Kind of. Horses still kind of freaked her out as well and she proved it when one came over to them and she squeaked and jumped back. She couldn't deny that they were beautiful animals and there was an intelligence in their eyes but they didn't talk to her or anyone else. How did anyone know what they needed? What was on their mind? It boggled her mind and made her a bit wary of them.

No matter how boring Mylorah might consider the things she was showing him, Tazikel found it all interesting. The Weyr was weirdly similar yet unquestionably different than all the Holds he’d seen, and it was fascinating. It was like nearly everything was made so that dragons could access it, which Holders didn’t worry about at all. Not everywhere was dragon accessible, obviously, but it was clearly something that was thought about, especially given the way the Weyrlings were housed. He listened intently to everything Mylorah said, smiling and nodding at everything. When she showed off her butter-churning muscles - not something Tazikel had ever done, and maybe he should! - he joined her in laughing.

“I can’t say I’ve ever churned butter before, but I have ridden on horses and carts, plenty. Ships too. Tillek’s a bay too, after all, except ours is full of ships and boats instead of swimming dragons. You ever been on a ship, Mylorah? A proper ship, I mean, not a rowboat.” Tazikel asked, trailing off as a horse approached them. It was a pretty thing, though built more for a heavy cart than a single rider. He frowned for a moment at Mylorah’s reaction, stepping forward as she jumped back.

“You’re more likely to startle them like that, you know,” he pointed out, gently moving towards the horse to introduce himself to it, “Sudden movements and all. Though this guy seems pretty calm,” Tazikel admitted stroking the horse’s neck, proper introductions made. “Guess they have to be used to dragons, so makes sense a Weyr would have less nervous horses. Wanna introduce yourself?” he asked, holding a hand out to her if she wanted to come closer. She had already admitted to having just about no experience with animals, and he was hardly a Beastcrafter but he rode often enough he was certainly more of an expert on horses than she was. It was kind of nice that even in a Weyr Tazikel didn’t feel completely ignorant of everything. Horses were still horses, after all.

Mylorah eyed both the horse and Tazikel's hand. She knew it was probably silly to believe so soon with barely knowing the lord, but she knew he wasn't about to line her up for an injury. Still, she was always the one to stay back when dealing with the horses as she tried to figure out the best way to approach them physically and mentally. It was so weird to think they probably understood her on some level but couldn't say anything in return. But Tazikel clearly wasn't dealing with any of those conundrums nor was he losing a hand to the beast so she finally took the proffered hand and stepped closer.

"I was told we had more but some of them couldn't adjust to the dragons," she spoke softly, almost absently as she watched the horse that really didn't seem to be paying her much attention at all. Rude! Well, she was being rude as well so it was fair, she supposed. But Mylorah finally found her courage and mimicked what Tazikel had done, extending her hand out for the horse to smell her when he did look back in her direction. When that seemed to have gone over well, she again did what Tazikel had done and stroked the horse's neck.

It wasn't the first time she'd touched a horse, recalling the move North and how one of the weyrfolk had been walking the horse and they were all able to approach and pet him. She'd given it a brief pet and marveled at how soft the hair was. Now was no different. She bet Holders would do the same thing if they got to touch the smooth hide of a dragon. "They're pretty in their own way. But riding them must be terrifying since you can't communicate back and forth." That was probably the part that bothered Mylorah the most. That was a lot of trust put into an animal that couldn't talk to you and that was such a strange concept to her.

"And no, I've never been on a ship or a rowboat really," Mylorah quickly hopped back to the questions she'd been asked but not given a chance to answer thanks to the horse distracting them both. But she'd feel terribly rude if she left the man without an answer, though maybe Tazikel didn't care either way. Maybe he had just been making polite conversation. But if there was one thing he should have already learned in their brief time together--well two things since her enjoyment of sex definitely had been caught on to--was that she liked to talk and would answer any questions he tossed her way.

"We were young and playing where we weren't supposed to so we barely got the boat off the shore before getting caught." She laughed at the memory and then gave a quick look at the horse since her attention had drifted back to the gorgeous man at her side. Had she been too loud and startled the creature? Didn't look like it and her hand still had all its digits so she was ahead of the game. But she still took her hand away from the neck she had been absently petting. That was probably enough of living on the dangerous side for now.

Tazikel beamed at Mylorah, inexplicably pleased that she had agreed to pet the horse. It wasn’t like it was his horse, but still, he felt rather like a most Weyrfolk didn’t have a chance to properly appreciate the creatures. “I don’t find it all that scary, though it certainly can be, in some circumstances.” A spooked horse bolting, being one. “And you can communicate with them, it’s just, you know, not speech. Like, people can communicate without words. Not super complex things, but some. How else do you think we’d ever be able to tell them where to go, after all. Briefly Tazikel felt a strong impulse to show Mylorah and try riding the horse. Not necessarily the best idea, but that never stopped him. What did stop him, however, was that if he tried it might frighten Mylorah. She didn’t need any more of that for the day, the Hatching seemed like it had been emotionally draining enough.

“It only counts as a being on a boat if it’s floating in water deeper than your knees while you’re in it,” he teased her about the childhood boat escapade. “Tell you what, come to Tillek sometime and I can arrange for you to get on a real ship. Or a small boat, if you prefer. Or both. Maybe I can even get you on a horse.” Tazikel wrapped an arm around her waist when she took her hand away from the horse, sensing she was done with horses for the moment. One more pat was given to the horse’s neck before Tazikel started leading Mylorah away.

“I do have an unrelated question, by the way,” Tazikel mentioned while they were on their way to whatever destination Mylorah had in mind for the next part of the tour. “I saw you with Kordiavis at the Hatching. Are you two friends?” How unlikely was it for the two people he knew who lived in the Weyrs to know each other and be friends? Especially since he knew them due to completely different circumstances. Though he supposed they were both Candidates, so perhaps it wasn’t that strange after all.

What Tazikel said made sense and she’d mull it over some more later on since it seemed like she had just been invited to visit the fabled Tillek Hold. “Why, Sir Tazicurls, did you just ask me out on a third date before the second is over? We must be practically married by Holder standards,” she laughed and it felt good. The whole ‘date’ had since it stopped her from worrying and thinking about the Hatching and shown her she really did enjoy being around the lordling. She kind of knew she would but she’d also been a bit worried that maybe they wouldn’t get along well when clothed and upright.

“I might just have to accept the invitation. For the ship and possibly even the horse, of course. You being there would just be an added bonus,” she stuck her tongue out at him in teasing before pointing them down the path that would start a trek down to the beach. She decided not to take them all the way down there though, mostly due to the length of time and no matter what he said, Mylorah didn’t think Tazikel was dressed properly for sand. Was he for grass, though? He did say he didn’t mind so she angled them in another direction, slightly off the path and startled a bit at the question.

“We are. He’s a good guy and I wish more people would notice that and stop seeing just his bland interest in—wait!” Mylorah stopped them as they reached their target, the edge of the plateau a few feet from the ledge that overlooked the bay. “You know Kordi? How do you know him? Oh! From his time at Ista Hold?” Mylorah’s eyes lit up in interest at that. How cool was it that she befriended one of the lords that knew Kordiavis back then? Not that she knew how many lords were actually out there and maybe they all knew each other and it wasn’t that big of a deal but it was to her anyway.

She plunked herself down on the grass and patted the spot next to her to get Tazikel to join her. “This is one of my favourite views at sunset,” she said as if continuing the tour, but Mylorah couldn’t let the fact drop that her friends knew each other. “But it’s not sunset and I need to know all about Kordi when he was younger because he never shares.”

“My Lady,” Tazikel started, corner of his mouth ticking up in amusement, “if you were a Holder, your father would have been demanding I marry you the day after the Gather.” Well, if she were a proper lady, at least. There was a good deal more leeway for girls of lower status, though they were still expected to marry and have children, blah blah. Ladies couldn’t have as much fun without a good deal more caution and sneaking around. Something about making sure any children are for sure her husband’s or something, Tazikel didn’t much care. Or at least, he didn’t because he wasn’t married, maybe he’d start to care when he had a wife. He sure hoped he didn’t get that uptight, blegh.

He smiled widely at her potential acceptance of the invitations, already starting to plan out how said possible future visits might go. Wouldn’t be too hard to find a captain happy to let Tillek’s second son and a friend onto his ship for a few hours. And their stables had plenty of horses, including a number with steady temperments that shouldn’t worry Mylorah too terribly.

“I do know him,” Tazikel confirmed, nodding, “Tillek and Ista have a number of shared trading interests, and when my father visited Ista he would usually bring me and my older brother.” He paused in his explanation when they reached the edge of the plateau and he had to stop to gaze at the view for a few moments. Ista really was a beautiful island, and the Weyr was no exception - though not as beautiful as Tillek, obviously. Tazikel told Mylorah as much, sticking his tongue out at his required ‘but Tillek is the best’ disclaimer.

Once they’d settled themselves on the ground, Tazikel leaned in towards her conspiratorially to answer her request for details. “So my brother and Aldra, Ista’s heir, are the same age, and both the heirs, so they were always put with each other for things. And I’m the next son for Tillek, of course, and Kordiavis was Aldra’s friend, so we tended to be in the same circles when we visited. Sometimes it would be all four of us, but there were times Batenkel and Aldra got called away for heir things, so Kordiavis and I would be left to our own devices. Which usually meant I had the idea to do something dumb and dragged him along with me. One time I wanted to see all the guest rooms at Ista, so we…” he said, launching into a story of some adventures they’d gotten into as kids. Mostly he left more personal things alone. Embarrassing childhood stories were fair game, but Tazikel didn’t want to overstep Kordiavis’ privacy too much. The time he and Tazikel got caught covered in ash and soot because they were trying to climb up a chimney did not even slightly count, though.

“Now, Mylorah, dearest, you know you have to tell me all about Kordiavis at the Weyr, because I know very little about what he’s been up to in the turns since he left the Hold. Nothing he would truly be upset with you telling, of course, but you know. More detail than what I currently have.” Tazikel truly had no idea what Kordiavis of Ista Weyr was like, they’d only spoken briefly at the Gather. Kordiavis was always rather reserved, but Tazikel had the sense that had only increased with time - he’d seen the beginnings of it before the return of the dragons, but it seemed likely the change had progressed. He truly hoped Kordiavis had a few people - perhaps Mylorah, she would be good at it - to drag him into having fun sometimes.

Mylorah was completely captivated by the stories. She loved learning more about Tazikel and his mischief-making ways but also learning more about what Kordiavis was like. He would sometimes share a story here and there but it wasn't anything major and she often felt like he was trying to put distance between himself and the past. It didn't sound like he absolutely hated the Hold but she always got the impression that he didn't miss it either. What had caused that, she didn't know, and now she was even more confused by hearing about how his childhood seemed to have such fun moments in it.

"You two probably would have gotten us all devoured by wild felines if you were in Katila but it would have been so much fun up to that moment," she giggled, loving the idea of the two Holder boys roaming around the jungle with them and getting into as much, if not more, trouble with their antics and exploring. At least she had them both in her life now and she had a feeling Tazikel was still rather mischievous and if prodded enough, Kordiavis would likely give in and have fun on a grand adventure as well.

Mylorah grinned and tapped her chin as she considered what to tell Tazikel in return. What she did know was Kordiavis had earned himself a smack to the arm for not telling her he knew Tillek's second son! She had gushed at him after the Gather about her fabulous lordling and even mentioned his name and rank and all she got was a quirk of a brow--which in hindsight may have been because he recognized the name. Still. He could have said something other than how he was glad she had a good time. For one thing, it had been an amazing time. For another... she wondered if Kordiavis didn't think she'd ever see Tazikel again and that was why he didn't say anything. Yeah, he was getting an earful.

"Well... he doesn't go exploring through everyone's weyrs, at least not that I've noticed. But he does let me drag him along to parties and interesting camping trips where he's fairly social...with people he likes, like Misharan. He's the blonde man that Impressed first today and Kordi's other good friend here. Otherwise, Kordiavis can be a bit judgmental." There were worse things to be, she supposed, which was why Mylorah never bugged him about how cranky he could be to some people. Especially since she didn't know much about his past and maybe he had reason to avoid certain types of people.

"He also draws a lot and sometimes does poems. I even convinced him a while ago to stop destroying them after he was done. I guess he used to always do that at the Hold? I dunno... I guess he's used to hiding his emotions because of his mom?" Mylorah paused and gave a little laugh, "it really sounds like we're talking about two different people, doesn't it? Maybe he just needs you back in his life. I can only do so much miracle work on my own."

“Oh, I absolutely would have gotten you all eaten, Kordiavis would have allowed it to happen because it was entertaining to watch even while he was being devoured,” Tazikel said with a grin. He would have been an absolute menace in a jungle. If he’d made it to his current age growing up down there it would have been a miracle. Kordiavis could probably have made it if Tazikel or even Aldra weren’t around to get him into dangerous situations.

Mylorah’s description, while different from his own stories, did match the boy he knew, though perhaps a more mature, experienced version of him. And he had at least one other named friend, so that was good! Kordiavis never seemed to want too many friends, but everyone needed at least a handful. And then there were people like Tazikel who made friends like breathing, but he and Kordiavis were most certainly cut from a different cloth. Though if his friend had Impressed, would that impact their friendship any? Newly different ranks and all, that could change things. Still…

“Congratulations to his friend, then, yes? Your friend as well?” he asked, figuring Mylorah might know Kordiavis’ other named friend. And he assumed congratulations for Impressing and becoming a dragonrider were in order, but the reactions at the Hatching had been so odd…

Tazikel distracted himself with something else Mylorah had said. “I don’t think the Kordiavis I’m talking about and the one you know are as different as you’re thinking. I imagine if we had met when I was seven we would have experienced very different versions of ourselves,” he said dryly. Their first meeting would have gone very differently if he’d been seven when he met Mylorah. “You know him as an adult, I knew him best as a child, and it’s a lot easier to let someone drag you into adventures when you’re nine than when you’re twenty. More social expectations, life experiences, what have you, getting in the way as time goes on.” Tazikel shrugged. He knew there were a few things that likely made Kordiavis less open to new people these days, but unfortunately that was life. As wonderful as he was, just his mere presence wouldn’t make the past go away. Didn’t mean Kordiavis wasn’t still Kordiavis. He just needed a little more pressure now.

“I never got to see his art, you know. I tried taking it once, just because I was curious and wanted to know what he was doing. Never tried that again. Batenkel said afterwards he was convinced Kordiavis was going to push me out a window for it. So you’ve gotten him to share that, which I never did. Just different parts of the same person, not different people.” Tazikel shrugged again, reaching out to gently play with her hair. “If you really think he needs an easily bored lordling around to bother him, I’m happy to grace this Weyr with my presence. Two people to visit just means more excuses to stop by, no?”

Mylorah nodded that, yes, Misharan was her friend as well but she didn't elaborate beyond that. She was worried about him with that weak dragonet and desperately wanted to give him a hug and make sure the pair was okay. Then she wanted to repeat the process with Beckitt and Madiquel. But she wouldn't be able to get near them yet, she knew that without even having to ask. So it was best not to think about them and the horrors that came with the rest of the Hatching and she appreciated Tazikel not asking about it or how she was doing. Maybe there was a chance he didn't care but Mylorah was more inclined to believe he was being polite and picked up early on that she didn't want to linger on the sands or talk about it.

So of course talking about Kordiavis was much better. He was probably off hiding alone, doing the very thing she had just said he enjoyed doing--putting his emotions onto a piece of paper. She wondered if he would share anything that came from the Hatching. He wouldn't share the Touching drawings he did, which was probably best given how vivid her own experiences had been. She was actually starting to feel bad for ditching Kordiavis so quickly after the Hatching. It was obvious he wasn't comfortable being there to begin with and he was afraid more people he knew would Impress to the potentially dying dragonets... but the jerk also knew Tazikel and could have invited himself over to see him as well.

"Anything that gets you to visit more often seems like a good idea to me. I'll even keep the two of you away from high ledges in case you provoke him by touching what you shouldn't," she teased with a grin, already liking the idea of spending time with both men--after telling one of them off for keeping secrets.

She was going to shift around a bit to give Tazikel better access to her hair and issue a challenge to see if he could braid it but she couldn't let go of how he called himself a bored lordling. She felt like they had kept each other rather entertained at the Gather but perhaps sitting around on a cliff would only hold his attention for so long and Mylorah didn't want that. "Are you really so easily bored, my charming lordling? What happens when you do fall into boredom?" She tilted her head quizzically at him for several seconds and then slowly smiled, "and how do I keep that from happening or break you free of such tedium?" She had some ideas but was curious about Tazikel's.

“Probably a good idea, the ledges around here are much higher up than most windows and I never know when to keep my hands to myself,” Tazikel grinned at her, twining a lock of hair around his fingers. Her hair was beautiful and soft and playing with it had definitely been a good call on his part. When she asked about boring him, he let the lock of hair he held drop so he could pat her arm.

“Never you fret, Mylorah dear. Unless you suddenly become invested in having me sit inside with my father and help answer his correspondence or assist in drawing up a list of something or other relevant to, I dunno, trade or running the household or something, doesn’t matter exactly, it’s all tedious, you are safe from me getting properly bored. Somehow I doubt you care about those things any more than I do.” He gracefully flopped down to lie on the ground, not caring at all about dirt or grass or whatever. Outside was always nicer than indoors, and if he avoided getting his clothes rumpled or messy he’d never do anything fun. Like look up at a pretty girl

“As for what happens when I do get bored, well, that’s when I wander off to find something more interesting. Something tells me that’s going to end with me showing up here a lot more from now on. Though I’ll need to set up a better way to get in touch with people here, it’s hard to be spontaneous and shirk responsibilities when I have to wait for a dragonrider to stop by Tillek to send off a letter to you or arrange a ride. Maybe you could help me with that?” he asked, considering. Mylorah would probably have some ideas about how to go about such a thing.

Tazikel was absolutely correct in his belief she didn't care about the list of things he rattled off. Her nose crinkled in distaste as the list continued and most of it didn't even make sense to her. She also felt sorry for his brother since he was the one that couldn't get out of that list. She supposed there was a chance he enjoyed all of that but then again, had he convinced himself early on that he did, knowing he was the heir and it wouldn't matter either way? Holder life was terribly sad! Or maybe it was just the families of the Lord Holders that had it rough, though from what Misharan had told her, regular working holders didn't always live as freely as they liked. Boy was she glad she was weyrbred!

She laughed at the idea of having to plan being spontaneous. It sounded like something T'ryn would do, not at all something Tazikel would do. He seemed to rather enjoy living in the moment and doing what he pleased when he pleased--like dancing with a strange girl and whisking her away shortly after thanks to the silly game she had started. She quite liked it honestly as it spoke to her own impulsive side--though hers came from knowing if she thought about it too long she'd never make up her mind.

"You're right; none of that sounds like fun and I'd rather have you outside with me than locked away in a stuffy room," with a smile, Mylorah leaned down... and booped Tazikel on his adorable nose instead of kissing him. Another little giggle and she twirled herself around so she could use his stomach as a pillow, lying perpendicular to him.

"So that means we need to work on spontaneously getting you here more often." She hummed a moment in thought, staring at the clouds before coming up with the obvious answer and some fun ones that Mylorah knew at least one of would never happen. "We need to get you your own firelizard that can summon T'ryn at a moment's notice. We'll pester him until he gives into the idea, though some of my other friends would likely do it as well. You'd probably like R'dal and R'dare." She mused a moment, getting a bit off topic before remembering the task at hand with trying to get Tazikel to the Weyr with little effort and planning.

"Anyway, transfer between Weyrs is a thing... can you do that in Holds? I know you're second son of Tillek but maybe you could move to Ista Hold and be um... their official wine critic?" She had no idea what jobs were even in a Hold but that seemed like one Tazikel would invent for himself if nothing else.

Before he could respond to that silly idea, she tossed out the even sillier one, the one she knew would never happen but that impulsive side told her to say it anyway. "Of course you could just give it all up and run away to live in the Weyr." And that's when the best idea ever struck her and Mylorah rolled over so she could drape herself more fully over Tazikel's torso and gave him her wicked grin that showed she was up to no good--but a lot of fun. "I could start my own harem with you and Kordiavis lavishing me in attention. I'm sure none of us would ever be bored again in that situation."

Tazikel sighed in overly dramatized disappointment when Mylorah pointedly did not kiss him. Nose boops were fine and all, but kisses from pretty girls were far better. He had no real complaints though, and he happily let Mylorah use him as a pillow.

She started listing ways to make it easier to get him to the Weyr, and Tazikel nodded along, just letting her ramble. A firelizard sounded kind of cool - would get him some style points in Tillek, if nothing else - and he was all for meeting more of Mylo’s friends and potential rides. He was about to quip about how he’d love to drink all day and talk shit about other people’s wine, even if it meant he had to drink Benden on occasion, but Mylo continued talking, even moving so she could look at him properly, and he couldn’t help but laugh delightedly at her last idea.

“That sounds even better than being a wine critic. Lounging about being handsome and doing whatever you want, hmn? We could make that work. Even Kordiavis can’t complain about being a kept man - though, being him, I’m sure he could come up with something. Would you dress us up in matching outfits, my lady?” Tazikel teased, amused at the image the idea gave him. “Or maybe you won’t dress us at all?” He said, lowering his voice and matching her wicked grin.

“I see one of your skills is mind-reading. I was going to say I would only have you both in clothes when absolutely necessary and I currently think of many reasons for it.” Mylorah laughed and then inched her way closer to Tazikel’s mouth, teasing what he was likely to get if he could endure the wait. “Maybe when I treated you to a Gather where we spent the night on the dance floor, showing stuffy Holders how much fun dancing can really be and what it can lead to.”

She lowered her mouth to his as she gave up any pretences of behaving herself and straddled him. The kiss didn’t linger, just there long enough to entice Tazikel to play a bit despite their semi-public location as they toyed with her brilliant idea. “And what would my Sir Tazicurls do if his lady asked him for a night with him and his old friend?” She ground her hips down against his groin, possibly playing dirty now in order to get a response she wanted as she added, “I know what you’re both capable of alone and can only imagine what you would come up with together for me.”

“Are you suggesting we have sex on a dancefloor in front of a crowd of Holders?” Tazikel asked with a smirk, eagerly leaning into the kiss Mylorah was (finally!) giving him. Certainly wouldn’t go over well in real life - his father was fairly lenient with him, but that would be crossing a number of lines - but it was a fun thing to think about. All the scandalized faces, and then the dumbfounded ones as they processed what they could be having themselves.

He pouted a little as she pulled back from the kiss, his mouth following after hers a bit before Tazikel realized Mylo was talking again. If asked by anyone else he would probably deny the the little whine he let out when Mylorah ground into him, and Tazikel decided to forgo words for a moment and surged up to capture her mouth in another kiss instead. This one was a little longer than the last, and as soon as he started feeling a little breathless he pulled back to respond.

“Oh, we got into plenty of trouble working together when we were younger, I’m sure we can get into plenty of trouble together now.” It wasn’t something Tazikel had ever really considered before, of course - sharing a girl with a friend - but it wasn’t entirely without appeal. He liked Kordiavis, so it wouldn’t just be a fight of one-upmanship the entire time. A little bit, certainly, but all in good fun. If Mylorah wanted it, Tazikel was inclined to make it happen. She just had that kind of effect on him. “Would the night be all up to us, or would you be telling us what to do for some of it?” He asked, indulging in Mylorah’s fantasy, his hands running up and down along her sides.

She hadn’t thought about actual sex on the dance floor but how some dancing essentially mimicked it but she could go with Tazikel’s idea after a few drinks and her two favourite men with her. She gave of a squeak of surprise before falling back into the kiss, forgetting about dance floors, but definitely retaining why the lord was one of her favourites. He was fun and a damn fine kisser and when he broke it off, she was the one left pouting.

She sat up, contemplating the question and absently shifting her dress so Tazikel’s hands could continue to roam without fabric interference. “I suppose that depends on if you like to give or receive orders, my lord. Oh! Brilliant idea,” Mylorah smiled, absolutely pleased with herself and knowing that Tazikel would go along with it but she’d have to work Kordiavis over a bit.

“We’ll simply have to turn this into a two night event. I’m sure the second son of Tillek has a bed large enough to accommodate some friends when he’s not showing us his beautiful Hold. Night one I’ll be in control and night two, I’m yours to control.” She was loving this idea and hoped she really could get it to happen. She knew it wouldn’t be tomorrow but she had time. She’d work it all out herself and then surprise the men.

“Hmn, I think we could probably squeeze three people in,” Tazikel said teasingly, tilting his head as if considering it. His bed could fit three people easily. Maybe even four, if they were all very close together. “Just tell me when.” Really, Tazikel didn’t expect Mylorah to actually do anything with these ideas. They were just fun, a thing to talk about to get each other worked up. Which was definitely working. Thinking about Mylo pressed between him and Kordiavis got all his blood going south. Shit, he had a new thing to fantasize about at night now. Even if he wasn’t expecting them to become reality.

For the moment, Mylorah being on top of him was way more important, and he leaned in for another kiss. Or two or five. At some point Tazikel remembered they were outside in a field and actually not that far from a ledge and maybe, just maybe, they should relocate.

“I’m thinking the tour of the Weyr is over for today. Should we go back to your room, maybe? Or at least a few feet farther from the edge of this plateau, plunging to our deaths before getting to come would be decidedly not sexy,” he pointed out.

Mylorah had a suspicion that Tazikel didn’t believe she was serious. Yes, some of it was a bit outlandish but no, she was going to make her night, or multiple nights, with two of her favourite people happen. It would probably take a while since she had to convince Kordiavis of it first and then align schedules but it would happen. She didn’t say anything else, only beamed at him when he promised his bed would be available.

She also didn’t get to do much of that as she squeaked in surprise as he caught her up in more kisses. Okay, she conceded. The threesome talk was fun but that was for the future and right now, she had a very agreeable lordling pinned under her that clearly needed her full attention. How mean of her to not give it sooner!

And then he was interrupting that as well and she pouted at him for ending it and the tour before laughing. “Very not sexy,” she didn’t think falling even after coming would be sexy but at least they’d die a bit happier? His mind worked in odd but fun ways and she decided what was actually sexy about the statement was how much he cared for their well-being and Mylorah rewarded him with a quick kiss before sliding off.

“Unless we want to see if my brother will lend us his bedroom for a bit, I guess we’ll save showing you a weyr for another time,” she offered her hand to Tazikel to assist him in getting to his feet as she had already bounced up. It was a perk of less layers; she could move more freely. Once he was standing, he was treated to her wrapping her arms around his neck and Mylorah draping herself against him. “My room is very available though it does come with a roommate to kick out if she’s back and a lot of other people milling about. Or we can stay here, further back and enjoy the sun and what’s probably more privacy. Whatever my lord prefers, though I do like the outdoors.” The hint wasn’t subtle but that wasn’t what she was going for anyway. But she did like being out in the sun and she really didn’t want to go back to the dorms and be reminded of the Hatching. At least on the plateau she could pretend everything was fine and be happy for a while longer.

“As long as we’re a little further from imminent death, outside sounds perfect to me,” Tazikel decided, wrapping his arms around her waist as she leaned against him. Actually, better idea, he moved one hand lower so he could slip it under the hem and hike the whole dress up a little, revealing more of her skin to the sunlight, though he couldn’t see it himself from their current positions.

“How about you choose us a nice patch of grass and we can pick up where we left off?” he suggested, and gave her a little twirl just for the fun of it. It was nice out, Mylorah was wonderful, and as weird and kind of stressful as the Hatching had been the rest of the day looked like it would be pretty good.
