Month 12, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Winter -3 - 2 C | 26 - 35 F
Fort is already home to snowfalls, though early in the month they fade away when the sun rises. As the month progresses, more snow stays on the ground, ending up with several feet of snow before the month is over. The areas around homes and populations has the snow shoveled away or trodden down. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove some danger and are routinely removed.

Ista Boundaries:
Winter, 9 - 21 C | 48 - 69 F
Generally warm enough to go about without a jacket on, Ista has low humidity but high chance of rain, generally in the form of vicious afternoon thunderstorms. The storms wash away any bite of heat the day had, and leave it feeling fresh for the night. The days are short, but grow bright quickly and the afternoons seem to be particularly short when heavy thunderstorms roll in and cover the sky.

Telgar Boundaries:
Winter, -5 - 0 C | 23 - 32 F
Bitterly cold, with icy winds constantly flowing down from the mountains. Freezing rain is almost constant; the sky always a murky grey and the ground slippery with slushy refrozen ice. The days are extremely short, with the nights dropping a good number below the daily average. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove a major danger, and are checked upon every day, with anything bigger than a fist being removed.

Month 07, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Summer 27 - 38 C | 80 - 100 F
Light breezes down from the mountains tot he North keep the temperature comfortable, even when the sun can bake an egg on the edge of a weyr. Sunburn is common.

Ista Boundaries:
Summer, 34 - 43 C | 93 - 110 F
A very dry, dusty heat. Little to no rain, causing more than some to worry about the drought not breaking and the rest of the Isle being at risk of fires. Many seek the depths of weyr, hold or hall during the midday and early afternoon heat.

Telgar Boundaries:
Summer, 26 - 35 C | 79 - 95 F
Muggy, sticky and generally just plain humid. Thunder storms are regular occurances, often happening in the early afternoon or evening, with heavy rainfall before drying off sometime in the night. Mornings are usually crisp, but warm up swiftly.

[[Update slowly in progress because ThistleProse is a slackarse :3 lmao ]]

Month 04, 740 AL
North: Early Spring | South: Early Autumn
−1.9 C to 4.7 C | 20.0 C to 29.0

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself naturally warmer, (~10C / 50) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.

Katila is beginning to cool down to more reasonable temperature, but is no less muggy and uncomfortable to those who are not used to the seasons. It is still a good place to escape to when seeking a warm day or a nice swim at the lake, though.

The Red Star can be seen by those who choose to see it, causing no shortage of whispers that Thread will return - and just as much dismissal from those who do not believe. After all, it's been so long, surely it is no longer a threat! Weyrleaders are, regardless, beginning to put together wings in their Weyrs, if only to keep troublesome and bored riders busy.

Month 03, 740 AL

Month 12, 739 AL
North: Early Winter| South: Early Summer
-3.1 to 2.1 C | 20.4 C to 29.4 C

Winter has come slowly to the Northern lands of Pern, with more rain and cold winds than snow. As the month progresses, more and more snow will fall, with frequent blizzard-like storms towards the very end of the month. Telgar and Fort will in particular become burried under mountains of snow, while Ista is sunjected to frequent icy rainstorms, and heavy winds coming in from across the ocean.

13.4 to 21.0 C | 13.8 C to 25.6 C

Following the disastrous fires (sometime in around the 28th of Month 08), Ista Isle has found itself suddenly in the midst of constant rain; not enough to flood, but a steady, dreary downfall that seems to only take a time out for a couple of hours here and there, before coming back again. Its cast the entire sooty Isle into a sombre and depressed mood. Alongside the rain, the weather is muggy and while not hot, is not particularly cool, either.

The rest of Northern Pern is getting their usual weather, though they, too, have been called to action following the wildfires that savaged Ista. Many individuals who called Ista Island home have been relocated not just to Ista Weyr, Ista Hold or Sea Cliff Hold, but also to other areas of Pern, whether with family or friends.

Month 08, 739 AL
North: Late Summer | South: Late Winter
17.4 to 25.5 C | 10.8 C to 23.2 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm - 37 to 45 C - has resulted in an incredibly dry summer, with little to no rain. This was climaxed by a dry thunderstorm, the results of which caused three fires to start across the Island on the 24.07.739 in the early morning hours. While the results of this are yet to be played out, the events will no doubt leave more than just the scarring of the land.

Month 07, 739 AL
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter
18.0 to 26.6 C | 10.2 C to 21.9 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm, with average weather being in the 37 to 45 C range, making it now a more than slightly undesirable escape for the rest of the Northern population from the more enjoyable early summer weather. There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind. Ista's limited farmlands and fields are dry and dusty, with golden straw instead of grass where there is any growth at all.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are still getting a lot of evening rain and the occasional thunderstorms, which cools down the populus and allows them to sleep easily without sweating their brains out like the Istans.

There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are getting a lot of rain, thunderstorms, and cloudy days. Grass is growing, flowers flowering, and baby animals popping up all over the place! Yay spring!

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. Month 11, 738 AL
North: Late Autumn | South: Late Spring

Autumn is coming to an end, with the days slowly becoming shorter still, with early nights and late mornings. The temperature is getting very cool, with jackets being more required, but it has yet to actually snow. Despite this, it is often raining and miserable.

The Southern contient is in full bloom, with flowers coming to life in the grasses and on the trees. The skies are bright blue with fluffy clouds, and occassional sunshowers bringing a dampness to the day. The nights are still crisp, but not cold. The ground is starting to dry up as water is absorbed by the blooming flora.

Month 10, 738 AL
North: Mid Autumn | South: Mid Spring

Autumn is in full tilt, with the leaves a shocking array of orange and red, and more of them on the ground than on the trees. The skies are often a clear and crisp blue, with a cool breeze flowing, shifting the leaves and sending them scattering. Rain is not common, but when it does roll in the skies are dark like night come early, and thunderstorms are not uncommon, though they don't last for long and the amount of rain that falls isn't too heavy.

Month 09, 738 AL
North: Start Autumn | South: Start Spring

Nothern regions are entering into Autumn, with the trees beginning to change to their reds and oranges, while the air is beginning to feel more crips. There are still more warm days than cool, and the nights are mostly warm enough for light bedding still. Rain has faded away and most days are clear and bright.

The Southern contient finds itself heading into spring, with rain and flowers vying for attention. The ground is often muddy and squishy, while the skies are either bright and blue, or overcast wtih fluffy clouds.

Month 08, 738 AL
North: End Summer | South: End Winter

Summer is winding to an end in the Northern hemisphere, with the weather slowly cooling and the trees beginning to turn their leaves. The days are still long and bright, but the sun is beginning to lose some of its strength.

The coastal Weyrs are falling victim to coastal storms, strong winds and heavy rains with thunder and lightening.

The more inbound Weyrs and Holds find themselves drier, not getting nearly as much rain or storms, they find themselves on the end of a long drought.

Month 07, 738 AL
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter

Summer is in full spring in the Nothern hemisphere, with the bulk of each day being unbearbly hot, followed by vicious thunderstorms and heavy humidity in the evenings and at night.

The coastal areas are experiencing monsoon like weather, and spend a lot of their time locked away in Hold, Hall or Weyr.

The more inner locations find themselves faced with more dry heat during the day, and horrible humidity in the evening and at night while the thunderstorms rage.

ITS AN UPDATE! HOORAH!

I'm not dead, my loves! This month's Event is 'Close Call!' - have fun! Stamps will be uploaded and on display in our Discord chatroom.

There is a topic here for discussion about Pernese religions and belief systems, including in and out of Weyr opinions (variably and as a whole) in regards to delicate matters, such as birth, death, and the afterlife. Also, ghosts anyone? Now I'm imagining a giant arse dragon ghost....

Healer Hall is accepting Gold Candidates (just from Fort, for now) and R'nya will soon be discussing with his Weyrwoman Rhaedalyn the merits of bringing in additional female candidates.... on the condition they are approved for Healer Apprenticeship...

Thallyath, Casa's little gold dragon, will be taking to the skies for her maiden flight in the first week of April (IC date will be 740-04-01) and while a mate is already decided, this clutch will be PC and more candidates are ALWAYS welcome, whether you want them to Impress this round --- or not!

September 2018

Spring is here! ... In Australia, anyway!

This month’s riveting event is ‘Seas of Fun’, in honour of International Pirate’s Day! After all the drama with the fires, we expect that taking to the sea (or lake, river, pond, etc) would be a very relaxing way to spend some downtime for many dragonriders and Holderfolk alike!

In preparation for October, the even is “Memories of the Past”, which we hope will be a fun way to explore your character’s past, either in solo posts or threads, as inner monolog or as back posting! How you choose to partake is entirely up to you!

October will also see our next PC HATCHING! In order to have your Candidate qualify for Impression, they must have no less than 20 posts! There are lots of characters floating around who would be more than happy to help your Candidate breech that count! Don’t forget to also UPDATE YOUR APPLICATIONS where applicable, or make sure it is submitted at all! We can’t Impress your character if we don’t know what they should be getting!

As always, be sure to submit your threads to the IC RP Timeline submission thread, so they can be added to the list! While you’re at it, remember to submit your favourite quotes – from your character’s or others! – to the Quote Submission Thread! We want to see some recent quotes thrown in with our old ones!

If you haven't already, please drop by the Dragonrider Weyr Allocations thread, and let us know where your dragonriders call home. We are hoping to set up Wings across the three PC Weyrs over the next month or so, and your assistance is much appreciated! As a result, we will be looking for Wingleaders, Wingseconds, and of course Candidates for the clutches we have scheduled for this year!

August 2018

ITS AUGUST! Do you know what that means? It means its less than 4 months until Christmas! OMG.

Okay. So moving on! This month sees us (hopefully) wrapping up the Camp Kink event! Who doesn’t love an abundance of young adults exploring their sexuality without restraint? Its been a hell of a fun ride (haha get it?) so far! Can’t wait to see what the grapevine makes of it when words gets out … haha!

On a more serious note, this month will see us engaging in the Istan Wildfires! This event is a free for all! Feel free to have your characters interact with the event in any way you feel is suitable! There is a lot of room here for personal dramas, trouble making, hero worshiping, etcetera! We really want to see how characters interact with, and dictate, the outcome of the event!

Those of you who are intersted, please take part in a discussion about the Plot for opening up the Healer Hall! You can find it [here].

July 2018

July was July-y.

June 2018

Welcome to the new month! Like always, I'm slack in getting the update up and running, but here it is! This month we have the event 'Summer Fling' - [Link] - which is turning out to be all kinds of entertaining already! Remember, it doesn't have to include smut! It could be an innocent date with some - *gasp* - hand holding!

This month also saw Gold Bedith of Mulrissa take to the skies! She was won by young Syrendryth of T'ryn! Congrats, and may your Hatching be less dramatic than the last one! The Hatching will take place in October so you have a lot of time to get Candidates created, approved, and posting up a storm!

Those of you who are intersted, please take part in a discussion about the Plot for opening up the Healer Hall! You can find it [here].

April 2018

Well, it’s halfway through the month which shows you how awful I am at keeping this stuff up to date, haha. Due to my slackness, there is no event this month, but the month of May will be hosting ’Lost Belongings’ wherein characters should find something they – or someone else – lost.

In the meantime, gold Okalinath of Kahleena has taken to the skies! You can find her Flight thread taking place on the 4th, here Currently, there is no planned winner, so be sure to throw your bronzes and browns her way! They do not need to be natives to Telgar Weyr to participate!

March 2018

Welcome to March, my friends!

Unfortunately, this month we don’t have any events set up, so we encourage you to wrap up threads and create some personal plots! Next month will be bringing in a new monthly event (Lost Belongings!) so you can always set your character up for that! If you have ideas for future Events, you can submit them here!. Additionally, you can see upcoming events here!

Speaking of new threads, be sure to submit your threads to the IC RP Timeline submission thread, so they can be added to the list! January 2018

Welcome to the New Year, one and all! We hope you had an enjoyable and safe holiday season, and we can't wait to see what your characters will get up to over the next twelve months (and beyond!). The Secret Santa Event has been extended until the 30th of January, so for those of you (like me!) who were busy over the end of December, we hope you can get your threads up and running over the next few weeks! There has been a lot of interesting interactions so far! As we extended the SSE, there won't be a specific January event this month! Don't worry though, we have something up our sleeve for February!

History is almost complete, and the profile has been re-coded. All new characters will need to go onto the new profile, but all old can keep their current! We'll begin advertising properly over the next couple of weeks, once the history has been completed, and probably after the weekend of the 8th and 9th, because that is when ThistleProse is having her birthday.

June 2017

We are on the brink of relaunching! Our history is being rewritten and cleaned up! We are accepting new members, and old! Our advertisment has been re-written, and will be put out there soon. We are also accepting affiliates of all descriptions, genres and themes! If you would like to affiliate with us, please go here
We officially have two layouts! You can post here with any issues you find, or request any changes!

May 2017

Progress has slowed down a little, due to RL events (yay promotions! Boo no internet!) but we're getting back on track! Documents are still being written and we've put together a FAQs page, though its likely to recieve a lot of adjustments as we come across things. The current goal is to have everything set up and ready by July, but we'll see how well we go at that. And by we, I mean ThistleProse. lol.

April 2017

The layout is almost complete, but there is still a lot of work to be done; documents are being written up and can be found in the Site Map menu opion. Players can begin to move their characters' information to their Account Profiles, but be aware some changes may still be made and/or added.
If you find any bugs or issues, plese repot them here, and we will do our best to fix them in a timely manner.

There were a lot of fun parts to being a goldrider, like her particularly interesting lessons with Lord Azrin – she took great delight in the sexual encounters, but she’d also learned a lot about herbs and plants and the amazing things they could do, from heal to (although he hadn’t actually come out and said it, and certainly hadn’t shown her) kill people. Casa rather thought it would be something she’d like to learn, but was hoping that Azrin would come to those lessons on his own, without her having to beg. She didn’t have anything against begging, but preferred to do so in the bedroom, not the classroom.

Unfortunately, she was also being told rather firmly that she had duties outside of her engagements with Lord Azrin and the ‘history lessons’ he was giving her and whatever other babble he had fed the Weyrleaders to explain his assorted visits to her weyr. Things like socialising with the Weyrlings – even though none of them were gold, which Casa could understand a great deal more than being told ‘go talk to them and leave me alone’. Not that anyone actually said that, but Casa could read that crazy look in Alcynnia’s eyes that had nothing to do with her dead dragon.

Slipping into the dining hall, the skirts of her short summer dress shifting softly around her thighs in a way Casa felt was very attractive – and the watching eyes of more than one dragonrider told her she wasn’t wrong. It wouldn’t truly warm into summer for a while, but like Katila, Ista was warm and enjoyable for more months of the turn than it was cool and droll. Smiling brightly, Casa got herself a plate of food and a glass of juice as she subtly eyed off the room, spotting several of the Weyrlings and analysing her choices.

Casa had opted for a cute brownrider, when her gaze slid across Nerreh, and the young goldrider swapped trajectory mid-stride. Spinning so her upper thighs flashed anyone behind her, Casa pranced over to the greenrider-to-be, and set herself down at the table, facing Nerreh with a bright grin. “Hey hey!” she greeted, adjusting her plate so her preferred fruit was right in front of her, and stabbing it with her fork. Casa twirled her fork in a circle before her mouth as she eyeballed Nerreh thoughtfully. “Haven’t seen you in ages,” she said, both amused and with a dry undertone. While they’d never been particularly close, being just months apart in age had thrown them into the same circle for most of their Katilan-turns.

“How are you and your little dragonet doing?” A teasing smile quirked Casa’s lips, primarily because she was sure the green dragonet was probably closing in on Thallyath’s size. Casa was still befuddled by how tiny her dragon was – didn’t she eat enough as a Weyrling or something?

The past couple months had been fucking weird. Weird thing number one, the Weyrlings had gotten their own, personal weyrs and Nerreh found it took some getting used to. She’d never lived on her own before and it was unexpectedly difficult sometimes. Much quieter, and no one to remind her to do laundry or other basic shit. Not that Nerreh was totally alone, Faxx was there too — and loving having personal space — but it was still an adjustment.

And then there was the adjustment Faxxonth seemed to be making. Nerreh’s little girl was getting bluer by the day and Nerreh wasn’t sure anyone really noticed. And Faxx herself was being coy about it all, saying things like ‘is that so?’ when Nerreh pointed out how blue she was getting. There was no way it meant nothing but apparently everyone else in the Weyr was blind, though Nerreh had seen a few other Weyrlings and a couple random people around the Weyr giving Faxx odd looks, so maybe they were seeing it and just choosing not to overthink it. Obviously, Nerreh had to overthink it, so here she was not sure what color dragon she had and spending way too much time musing on it instead of having fun. Like now, when she was eating breakfast alone instead of hanging out with friends.

Nerreh was wondering how it would go when people figured out her drag might, in fact, be blue instead of green and hadn’t told anyone because she — he? — was a smug little bitch who liked being the only one in on a joke. She usually let Nerreh in on them, but sometimes Faxx liked knowing things no one else did. Like now, because Nerreh could feel Faxx’s laughter at her line of thought, and she gave her dragon a mental shove and went back to drinking her juice just as someone sat down in front of her. Nerreh blinked.

“Casa! Hi! It’s, uh, yeah, it’s been a minute,” she said, awkwardly shifting in her seat as she looked over at the goldrider. ‘A minute’ being… what, since Nerreh’s birthday the turn before? Nerreh had been mostly in ‘weyrling’ mode since then, and Casa had been… well, from what Nerreh had heard Casa had spent the past turn getting laid. Worse things to do, Nerreh supposed. Hardly what she’d been getting up to with her baby dragon, so at least someone at Ista was getting some. Shaking off that train of thought, Nerreh started to answer Casa’s question.

“Oh, you know, Faxx is, uh…” Almost certainly blue, Nerreh thought, but she didn’t want to be the first to say it out loud. Someone would say it was wishful thinking on her part or some bullshit. Nerreh didn’t feel like dealing with it. She’d confirm it just for herself, and then she could be in on the joke with Faxx and laugh at everyone else as they learned. And deal with the consequences as they came. “…getting really bored with Weyrlinghood,” Nerreh ended up saying. “Thinks her clutchmates aren’t as talented as she is and wants to graduate to bigger and better things.” Whatever that meant.

“How about you and Thallyath, Casa? Doing alright?” Nerreh asked, wondering if Casa would happily move on to talk about herself or if she would have to field more questions from the goldrider about things in her life she hadn’t figured out yet.

Casa laughed, nodding in understanding at the quip about the young dragon wanting to graduate already. “At least you’re not pulling double duty,” Casa said mildly, glancing around quickly before leaning across the table and scrunching her nose up. “Everyone glorifies a gold hide, but honestly, its so boring!” Well, the lessons, anyway. Casa rather enjoyed the awed Holders, and the fact that no one seemed quite prepared to question her promiscuous attitude towards, well, any man that she deemed attractive.

“I’m sure things will spice up, if she ever decides to Fly, though.” It was one of the few exciting things she got to gossip about with the other younger goldriders – or, well, any goldrider not mated. They were kind of boring, cooing and awing over their mate winning them – or the drama that came if they didn’t. Casa didn’t mind if Thallyath found herself a mate and settled down, so long as the little gold queen didn’t expect Casa to have any more to do with the rider than she wanted to. Casa herself was well aware of many of the rumours and gossip circulating about her, not the least of which was that she should have Impressed to a green (though, to be fair, they really weren’t that much more sexual than any other dragon! Casa was almost sure that if she sat down and did the numbers, the boys likely won flights at least as often as the infrequent flying greens…)

“You don’t have that long to go though, do you? You’re almost ten months now, and graduation is fifteen months. Less than half a turn!” Casa drenched the words in a combination of false excitement and thick sarcasm, tossing an eyeroll in at the end to make sure Nerreh knew she understood how long those five months were bound to be; most likely anyone else within hearing would just think the blonde ditz was doing her ditzy blonde thing. That worked for Casa; if M’ris actually came to accept that she wasn’t as dumb as he thought she was, Casa was afraid her workload would become quite a bit heavier, and her playtime would suffer as a result.

That could not happen!

“Well, don’t you know, Casa, you’re s’pose to be an example for the rest of us,” Nerreh teased, pointing a half eaten roll at the goldrider, “so what’s the wisdom you have to share with me today?” She was grinning now. This was banter. Nerreh could do this, easy. Her own problems could be ignored for the time being in favor if being snarky and chatting with a cute goldrider who was kinda a childhood friend if you tilted your head sideways and squinted.

“But yeah, not too long left. It’s a miracle half the classes don’t die of boredom before they reach graduation. I swear, when they first started letting us fly without direct supervision they were so obsessive about being notified whenever we did anything. I was always surprised they didn’t ask us to inform them every time we had to piss. Still am, honestly. I think Faxx worries them.” Little fearless showoff that she was. Faxx had probably almost given the Weyrlingmaster a heart attack at least a few times. The class hadn’t really gotten to betweening yet, but Nerreh was sure Faxxonth would worry even more people then. Maybe she should worry more about her own safety? Nah. They were fine.

“Here, how about this for your wisdom for the Weyrling; best way to celebrate graduating?” Had Casa or her class done anything fun for graduation? Nerreh was already considering going on a really long flight somewhere — anywhere — with Faxx, but there had to be other good things to do. What were all the things she couldn’t do as a Weyrling, again?

Casa laughed brightly, deeply amused. “Wisdom? Me?” Casa put a hand to her chest, and stared with wide eyed wonder at Nerreh. “But I’m just a girl,” Casa said dramatically, pouting pathetically at Nerreh, before snorting and rolling her eyes. She was definitely not the type of girl – or goldrider – that M’ris would want setting ‘examples’ for the rest of the weyr. Or want them taking from her example, anyway. Casa snorted again, and ate a piece of strawberry.

“At least you get to learn all the same stuff,” Casa said wryly. “It took turns before they taught us how to between,” which of course, Nerreh likely knew, because of the uproar it had caused in Katila when they realised, oh by the way, none of the goldriders know how to fucking between to the mainland you losers! Casa still had trouble with the whole stupid scenario. Really; how was not teaching the goldriders how to travel safely safe than actually teaching them?! Huffing, Casa shoved another strawberry into her mouth, crunching down on it with more force than was strictly required.

She was removed from her sour thoughts by Nerreh’s question, and honest consideration was given to the question. “Hrm,” she said, mellowing as she picked at some of the other fruit, choosing some of the delicious late-summer fruits that were clearly brought in from Katila; they had that slightly sad air about them that said they were the healthiest leftovers from the store rooms. Not that Casa cared – she was just glad they still got to eat a lot of the fruits that had been available when she was growing up, even if the weather outside rarely matched the fruit that was imported.

“I don’t think we really did anything, honestly,” Casa was trying to remember, but it was quite a while ago – she couldn’t believe how old Thallyath was, honestly – and really, their lessons had been lost in the antics of rebuilding Katila and their graduation the flurry of possibly moving North again… or was it actually moving North again? It was all such a blur! “I know a lot of the non-Katilans visited their old Halls or family and such.” Casa herself didn’t have any family she knew of outside of the Weyr – her father was a bluerider (so all his family was most likely dead in the Plague, though Casa had never bothered to confirm that), but whatever family her mother had left behind, had been lost when Casa was born.

“Of course, how could I forget?” Nerreh said rolling her eyes. “Girls can’t remember anything important. Oh wait, maybe that’s why I forgot.” Goldriders were generally treated as more competent than most women, but it didn’t surprise Nerreh in the slightest that Casa had experience with people ‘just a girl’ing her. Typical. It’s not like the dragon population relied on golds and their riders to survive or anything. None of that required even a little intelligence or whatever from goldriders, apparently.

There was no way Nerreh had forgotten the drama that was trying to get all the golds North from Katila. What a fucking disaster, and the leadership seemed so surprised by it, too. Not that Nerreh was anywhere close to someone important, but that was the impression she’d gotten. She’d been a self-interested teen, not blind, and far too many people were taken aback by the golds not being able to between. At least on a fighter, no matter what color Faxx was, they’d be taught everything with everyone else, including betweening. Though Nerreh doubted any of the Weyrleaders would make the same mistake with the golds again. There wasn’t a gold in their class, but if there were, Nerreh would bet on her learning to between with the rest of them. Or at least, at the same time, even if not with them-with them.

She considered the graduation possibility Casa presented. “I’m not sure popping over to Telgar to see my family who’s been visiting me here all the damn time is the same kind of celebration going back to a Hold after turns away would be. I’m not that nostalgic for Telgar, and I’ve seen pretty much everybody at least once I’ll need to think of something else. Doing absolutely nothing just sounds boring.” Nerreh sighed dramatically, bemoaning the lack of good options. Though maybe… “I suppose I could go to Katila. Maybe round up all us Katila ‘brats and take a graduation weekend? Hmnn…” she trailed off, thinking. That was actually not a bad idea, if she could get other people to go along with it. Maybe A’tay? If she asked nicely and promised there would be no orgies?

Casa giggled, amused, and shook her head. “Probably not,” she admitted, poking at her fruit as she thought about what the other girl and her group could do post-graduation. It was pretty important, after all – not like they got to graduate Weyrlinghood more than once. Or at least, Casa hadn’t learned of anyone that graduated and then got to graduate again!

“That wouldn’t be terrible!” Casa agreed, “specially to get away from all this crappy weather!” Not that Katila had ever been a goldmine for perfect summer days – it had sunny days, of course, but often so hot you were sweating even when you were sitting naked in the lake! Then again, Casa was Katilan born and raised, and she found the North (even Ista) to be rather cold in comparison. “You could do a camping trip,” she added, tilting her head. “New Katila is a shithole.” Of course, she thought that primarily because it wasn’t home, not the way Katila-Katila had been. Of course, there was nothing left of the original Katila and Casa couldn’t bring herself to go back there. The ghosts of too many lost loved ones wandering the ruined homes.

“It probably wouldn’t be as fun as our last camping trip,” Casa teased, “But some of your classmates are just babies,” like A’tay and a handful of others. They could do with a camping trip that didn’t come with copious amounts of really great sex. Well, they could probably do with one of those types of trips, too… in about ten turns! Casa giggled.

Nerreh nodded thoughtfully. “Camping’s a good idea. And I don’t think anyone would begrudge the newly graduated dragonriders a few days off to celebrate. Especially if they know you won’t be planning this camping trip,” she said with a grin. “Which, by the way, you are required to invite me to if you ever have another. I won’t have a month old hatchling next time.” Not that Nerreh had really cared at the time. Baby Faxxonth was much more important than some camping trip, but in the months that followed, all the stories and gossip that came out of it had Nerreh wishing she could have been there. Even if just to, you know, be able to say she had been there.

No matter. Chances were good Casa (or someone else, Nerreh knew plenty of people who, if prompted, would be eager to organize their own, similar event) would have another camping trip. If the Weyrleader let her, but, well, they weren’t hurting anyone. Just young people getting better acquainted. On several levels.

“Still, I’d have to, what, get permission from M’ris? Ameris? The Weyrlingmaster? I suppose not him, if we’re graduated we’re not his problem anymore. Should prolly give New Katila a heads up that a potentially large group of dragonriders will be around, shouldn’t we? Wouldn’t want to give all the old people heart problems from the surprise.” Nerreh let out a short laugh before trailing off, thinking of all the other things she might need to work out to have the most awesome non-sexy camping trip in the history of Pern.

Casa laughed, and waved a hand vaguely. “No one who matters, cares.” She stated, which was mostly true. If anyone who did care, knew, they hadn’t confronted her about it and they certainly hadn’t made any vague new rules that would deny herself or anyone else the delights of camping, klah, or aphrodisiacs! She had a feeling M’ris probably knew, either outright or he’d heard some whispers before turning a blind eye. Casa wondered, suddenly, if he’d spoken to K’tir about his ‘babysitting’ or not… Perhaps she’d have to enquire.

“I should hope note!” Casa teased, grinning, “going through Weyrlinghood once is more than enough!” Maybe it wasn’t as painful for greenriders, but Casa had found the overall experience rather miserable. Of course, a large part of that was probably the large part of her classmates dying in the landslide… Casa scrunched her nose up, and picked at her fruit for a few moments. “You are, however, of course invited!” Looking up, Casa brushed away the sour memories, and grinned sunnily at Nerreh. “We needed more women,” she said, shaking her head. It had been an absolute sausage fest! Especially for her, but she was getting distracted. And horny. Casa shifted her seat slightly, and tossed a grape between her teeth.

Considering Nerreh’s questions, Casa pursed her lips thoughtfully. “I would probably submit a written request to M’ris,” she said. “Include the names of anyone who wants to come, and tell him where and when; then he can vet everyone with the ‘master to make sure none of you are going to make him regret it and adjust any dates or whatever like he did with my request. You will probably still get stuck with a babysitter,” Casa warned, “so I would recommend making a list of older riders that you can cope with going with you.” She considered again. “Probably a brownrider, or a bronze if you know any who will either be fun, or at least not a total bore. He didn’t approve my list right away, because even the older riders were ‘too young’.” Rolling her eyes, Casa snorted and then age some more fruit.

For a moment, Nerreh was utterly pleased when Casa confirmed she would be invited to any future camping trips. It all crashed down a moment later when Casa added that the last one had needed more women. Right. Casa and everyone didn’t want Nerreh specifically, they just wanted another vagina around. Suddenly Nerreh thought maybe she didn’t want to go all that much at all. Not if everyone was going to treat her like ‘another girl.’ Nope, no thanks, Nerreh would rather not. Better to stay home and not get laid. An uncomfortable weight had settled in her stomach and Nerreh shoved the whole matter to the back of her mind. Things might change by the time Casa planned camping again. Or not. Didn’t matter just then.

It was a lot easier to think of potentially acceptable chaperones. “My grandfather would probably be acceptable, then. Middle aged brownrider, and he’s pretty fun as older people go. And since the goal is just camping shenanigans, not awkward to have him there.” Nerreh had gotten pretty lucky when it came to family. A lot of dragonrider dads had nothing to do with their spawn — her own didn’t, she’d never spoken to the man and had no real plans to. But her mom’s dad was weird, and knew who all his kids were — and his kids’ kids, and as of recent turns his kids’ kids’ kids. So Nerreh had something of a father figure growing up, in addition to her mother, which a lot of ‘brats couldn’t say. And she still liked him, more importantly, and would willingly invite him to chaperone a camping trip of young people. There shouldn’t be a reason M’ris would say no to him as a babysitter. Nerreh would have to suggest the idea to N’bel next time he visited.

“Thanks for the idea, Casa,” Nerreh smiled.

Casa missed Nerreh’s emotional crash, and instead laughed delightedly at the prospect of a grandfather going along as a guardian. The fact that he was the grandfather would probably hold a whole other level of permission-granting effect. After all, no one immediately thought of hot young men when the word was spoken! Though, honestly, some of the dragonriders got away with looking far too hot for their own good, for far too long. Even some of the pre-Plaguers weren’t too hard on the eye, and while Casa was more than young enough to be the daughter of any of them, some of them were far too much fun with their pants down and her skirts up!

“Oh, there are lots of fun older people,” Casa said silkily, smiling coyly at Nerreh. After all, K’tir was a pre-Plaguer (No, he's not, - whatever, he's still definitely considered ‘older’ by the riders my age) - , and he was all kinds of delicious fun! Azrin was older, too, and he didn’t have a dragon to help him keep his wickedly youthful face. Casa quivered with delight, a cool finger walking down her spine as she got lost for a moment in the memories of the things he did to her, and her body. She blinked and leaned forward on the table, resting her chin on both hands, fingers linked, so she didn’t lose one below the table. Faranth, she needed to find someone to fuck.

A lazy smile was given to Nerreh. “You’re welcome,” she said, cheerful and sincere, eye warm and crinkled at the edges before her gaze shifted to look at a group of men sitting at the table behind the Weyrling. Casa studied each of them for a moment before dismissing them with a silent scoff and glanced around more. Green eyes lit up when she spotted R’vi, and her coy smile was back. “We should catch up more often,” Casa said, her gaze shifting back to Nerreh after she’d had Thallyath relay to his blue she wanted his attentions. Her smile was genuine, words sincere. She really did need more friends, as opposed to casual fuck buddies… though it was the fuck buddy her body was craving at that moment… Standing up, Casa casually passed her used dinnerware to a passing greenrider with a wink, before turning back to Nerreh. “I’ll see you later!” Flashing a bright smile, Casa flounced over to R’vi and slipped under his arm, wrapping her own around his waist, letting him lead them to the first empty semi-private space they could find.
