This was a nice change of pace, Mylorah decided as she quickly changed into her robe and pulled her hair up. It seemed most Hatchings happened overnight or during a major event. This one was late afternoon so the only downside would be a later dinner and the rushing about everyone was doing. But she still managed to get there with some time to spare—and that included making sure Zoremet wasn’t lost and had himself put together as well.
She didn’t put much stock into the first to hatch superstition so when a green kicked it all off, Mylorah was just happy to see a healthy baby dragon and gave her all the proper amount of cooing she could from across the area. She really was adorable and she knew the boy that Impressed and was happy for him as well. That excitement froze for the moment as a blue started poking about the gold egg until she finally released the breath she was holding and giggled. Clever boy! It was always nice to help out where one could!
Sadly, neither the blue nor the gold came her way and Mylorah watched the pairs head off together as she tried to hide her longing. She did smile at the gold’s order and wished the girl luck. When she noticed Orgailian staring at her, she smiled some more and shrugged. She didn’t need to say it, knowing he’d hear her words in her look. It would happen when it was meant to happen. There was still time and sometimes Mylorah was glad when she left without a dragon as it meant she didn’t have to change how and when she did things—and of course not worry about going without any sort of sexual interaction for six months. That was a definite perk of staying unimpressed.
But there was always a bit of lingering doubt that perhaps she wasn’t good enough. It didn’t have much of a chance to latch onto her this time, however, as Orgailian started moving toward an egg and Mylorah gasped and took a step forward before catching herself. They didn’t need two of them out there but when he kicked the egg, maybe she should have gone after all. What was he doing?! Mylorah glanced at Thallyath and then back at her brother, wondering if this was the last time she’d see him alive but a dragonet tumbled free of the egg and was soon prancing off to his lifemate. Crisis was temporarily diverted but maybe she’d throttle her brother later for being so ballsy like that.
When everything came to an end, Mylorah was shocked to see the healers seemed almost bored with how little they had to do. Finally! And with Thallyath’s clutch as well! Maybe more would Stand for her next one after this one cleansed the palette from her first. Thrilled for the gold pair, Mylorah darted across the Sands so she could go hug and congratulate Casa. And then food and dancing!
