The Hatching had been a couple of weeks earlier and Azrin knew he could have returned to the Weyr sooner than he currently was but he not only had some business dealings to tend to, he also wanted to continue making his goldrider sweat it out. He hadn’t heard from her nor her from him and that was fine. It would make his return that much more impactful, especially once she learned everything he had done on her behalf. Well, mostly it was done for his own intentions and well-being but she was a pretty little part of overall schemes and keeping her in a good light and happy made him happy.
He supposed he could have attended the Hatching itself, more for the Hold’s benefit than Casa’s, but he didn’t want her getting the wrong idea, that he would support her bad decisions and constantly be there to hold her hand when times were tough. She had made the mistake and she could suffer it alone while he cleaned up what he could. Besides, M’ris and Ameris had sent word the clutch was small and wouldn’t be worth the time out of the Lords’ busy day to visit. That had helped tremendously and going against that idea wouldn’t have seen too out of the ordinary for him but Azrin didn’t want to start a trend with others going as well and learning the truth about the blue sire.
But today was a good day to reconnect and realign their goals. So he borrowed the good boy bluerider, Z’rin, to bring him to the Weyr where dragon politics took place briefly as Varralath asked Thallyath if he could land and deliver a guest—one Azrin asked be passed along was a surprise. Honestly, he didn’t know what he would be walking in on given the sex addict he’d created but it was bound to amuse him regardless.
“My golden lady, I trust you’re well.” Azrin greeted Thallyath after the blue pair took off again. He didn’t expect a verbal reply and wasn’t disappointed when he received a nod in acknowledgement. Thallyath may have wanted to kill him after he popped Casa’s cherry and caused her a bit of pain but that urge seemed to have died down quickly and they got along after that.
“I’m glad to see you haven’t ceased in your studies while I’ve been away,” Azrin stated as way of announcing his presence. He truly was surprised and happy to see Casa at her desk, hunched over papers that were covering the surface. He couldn’t say what she was working on but at least she was applying herself to something and that was impressive. She was a clever girl and her intelligence was being wasted by not being given more stimulating things to learn.
