"Cas, are you kidding me? This is all so cool!" R'dare struggled to find an emotion and expression that conveyed what he was feeling since he was torn between aghast that she would find it boring and excited that she was studying such things and he might be able to peek at it further. "Don't you remember how I was practically attached to the Harpers in Katila, wanting to hear all their stories on history of anywhere and everywhere? It's so hard for me to get my hands on anything now but that's mostly because I'm too afraid to approach the Hall and ask to look at anything. Man, goldriders get all the cool things." He pouted at the papers, brushing a hand longingly over the top one and sighed. No doubt if he was a bronzerider he could have access to such things as well but as a bluerider, he'd be looked down upon and his own nerves kept him from trying anyway. Sure, the Harpers accepted them before the other Halls but they were just as nosy and curious as he was so it was more out of necessity than actually liking riders roaming their halls.
"And yeah, the map making is cool as well. Not really my sort of thing, though I bet T'ryn would be all over it," he hesitated a bit when he brought up their bronzeriding friend. Sometimes there was history better left untouched, especially when fucking your friend's ex was involved, but T'ryn and Casa seemed to be finding their footing again and T'ryn didn't seem to want to murder any of them for their naked times with Casa, but R'dare still quickly continued on in his point. "But I wonder if the amount of empty weyrs to occupied in Ista is the same percentage in the other two. Like, you're smaller but if you're twenty perfect occupied, are the others as well? Definitely too much math for me but if you guys figure it out, I'd be interested."
But his attention was drawn back once more to the so-called boring history and he finally gave in, picking up a pile, though he was careful not to mess up anything else lest Casa had a system. "This, however... need a study buddy? I can quiz you! I can read a fact, omitting a name or place or date and you can fill it in." He was learning it for fun so if he couldn't remember his new information that well at the end, no loss. But it seemed as a goldrider, Casa was expected to know such things so helping her memorize facts seemed more important and fun.
