Faxxonth had not been expecting the lady to hug her nose like that. Thankfully, she managed to stay still and not pull Xyliah up into the air jerking her head back in surprise. This lady was so enthusiastic! Faxxonth liked her, she was interesting, and the dragonet preened under Xyliah’s attention. She was soft and pretty, and it was nice even non-dragon people could tell. Faxxonth hoped her hide would stay pretty as she aged — she knew most dragonets’ hides changed before they reached proper adulthood, and Faxxonth wasn’t sure how different hers might be soon. As long as it was still pretty, she was okay with it, even if it was extraordinarily different!
And then Faxxonth was getting another hug and Nerreh grinned at her dragon’s confused croon. The little green was always curious, but Nerreh had already noticed she wasn’t overly social outside of meeting new people; Faxx wanted to see if someone was interesting, but if they were deemed boring, Faxx quickly lost interest. A lot of the dragonet’s clutchmates had be dismissed as utterly dull, only entertaining as the butt of some prank or another. Clearly, Faxx considered Xyliah someone to investigate further, and Nerreh laughed at the request to keep her dragon.
“If you want, but it’s a package deal — you get me too, and then you have to feed both of us,” Nerreh teased, gesturing at Faxxonth, “growing dragons eat a lot, and I eat nearly as much. Might be a bit more than you bargained for, especially if you’re getting Xyxyth and A’tay too.” Nerreh watched as Xyliah released Faxx to hug Xyxyth, feeling her dragonet’s pouting at the loss of attention in her mind.
Who is Sunshine? Why won’t he Impress? Is he a dragon? She doesn’t have a dragon, I’d know, and she’s never seen weyrlings before. Is this Sunshine alright? Faxxonth’s puzzled voice asked with a gentle mental poke to her bonded. None of what the Lady just said made sense. Oh, is Sunshine a firelizard? That could make sense… but if he is, how can he not be Impressed? The dragon trailed off, eyeing Xyliah, as if waiting for a flit to appear from between at any moment. Nerreh snorted.
“Faxx wants to know who Sunshine is. She’s worried about him not being Impressed and wants to know if he’s okay.” She said, emphasizing the word ‘Impressed’ to say she meant the dragonrider version of the word. There were a few giggles that escaped while Nerreh was saying it, and she hoped Xyliah managed to catch what she meant.
