“Really?” Xyliah asked, the word escaping on an excited gasp as she turned wide eyes on the young green dragon, beaming brightly when Nerreh continued by saying that the dragonet demanded Xyliah pat her, and the young woman just about threw herself on the dragonet, wrapping her arms around the nose and snuggling her for a moment before running her hands all over the soft hide, giggling and gasping and making soft noises of appreciation as she trailed slowly around Faxxonth, tracing patterns over the marking son her hide.
“So soft! And so pretty! Look at this marking! It looks like a cloud!” She spoke to herself more than anyone else in the little group, primarily because she was quite sure Nerreh would be well aware of every speck and spot on her dragon’s hide – especially since she’d heard that dragonets take a lot of bathing and oiling and since Faxxonth’s hide was so soft, Xyliah was sure she got a lot of special oiling and looking after! Making it back up to Faxxonth’s front, Xyliah wrapped her arms around as much of the dragonet’s neck as she could, and snuggled close, enjoying the strange scent of dragon and whatever oil was used on her.
“Can I keep her?” She half expected Jalazmar to pop out of between with a quippy answer to her question, but resisted the urge to peer around for her husband as she looked with playfully beseeching eyes at Nerreh. Her teasing grin on her lips, she looked over at Xyxyth, and her expression brightened. “You too!” she said, releasing Faxxonth and clapping her hands together, bouncing on the balls of her feet before she closed the distance between herself and the even bigger dragonet, wrapping her arms around his nose and hugging his face. “I want to keep you both! I don’t think Sunshine will be impressed, though!” She giggled at the thought of her cat’s face if she introduced the orange tom to the two dragons.
