V’ler gave Indivara a flat look when she made it so he was stuck skating as well. He really didn’t want to and had visions of losing his balance – likely due to one of his companions falling and taking him with them – and breaking a bone again. That hadn’t been a pleasant experience and it wasn’t something he ever wanted to go through again. Although Veeth not chasing anyone during that time was rather nice, it wasn’t motivation enough to break something.
Naturally he gave in, not finding it worth his energy to argue or simply say he had no desire to skate. He waved Indivara’s hands away after watching her attempt to lace the skate to her boot several times. He knelt before her and did one foot and then the other for her. A glance to R’vi showed the other man was contemplating bolting as well, likely thanks to the wonderful display Venseth had given about what ice was like. V’ler decided if he was stuck, so was R’vi and ordered his fellow bluerider to sit down so he could help lace him up as well.
Once they were both sorted out, V’ler put on his own skates and stood to join the others. “The hardest part, other than getting up off the ice when you fall as Venseth showed, is actually getting on the ice.” V’ler didn’t want to be the first to go but knew he’d be made to anyway since he was apparently the master of winter or something. Carefully he waddled his way to the edge and side stepped onto the ice with a few small baby steps. He moved a few feet away so if the other two fell, they wouldn’t take him with them. Once they were all settled and safely standing still, he’d give a brief lesson of what he remembered for how to move on the blades.
