It was early. Far too early to be stirring in Vee's mind, but there she was, restless in bed beside K'ton, again. She tried to remain still and force herself to go back to sleep, but she kept wanting to toss and turn instead. She didn't want to wake K'ton any more than she already might have so she slipped out of bed and went to clean up and dress for the day. She had already woken him with her restlessness the last two nights and had, more or less, not been herself lately. She'd been through just about every mood a woman had, and maybe a few new ones. Why the man put up with her she didn't know.
It was still dark outside when she finished dressing, which was annoying for some reason. She walked to the edge of the weyr where Nadioth and Ironth lay curled up beside each other. Nadioth's toes flexing every so often, causing the faintest of scraping of claw on stone. Faint though it might have been, it was still ear piercing at the least. Vee made a face then moved away from the slumbering dragons to stand on the weyr ledge. She was greeted by the night sky, which glittered with blinking stars and a few thin clouds wafted by, semi-hiding those stars it covered only to reveal them again a moment later.
The weyr was still and quiet, far more calm than she felt, and she had no idea why. She wasn't pregnant, that much she knew, so the restless feeling of a need for something puzzled her. She yawned and backed away from the ledge and turned, only to find a large glowing eye, blue and purple, tinged with yellow, staring at her.Why do you stir? You bother me. Her tone was irritated, though no more than usual of late. Vee stared at her dragon's whirling eye a moment then shrugged. I don't know. The answer seemed to irritate her dragon further as she snorted out a heavy breath through her nostrils in her rider's direction, causing her to flinch and glare at the gold. Well stop. , was all she said before closing her eye again, effectively dismissing and cutting her rider off in, quite literally, the blink of an eye.
"Well excuuuuuse me.", Vee muttered under her breath as she turned to walk away, her feelings a little bruised. She wanted to lay back down, she wanted to go back to sleep. She was still tired but had no desire to disturb K'ton. Frustrated, she slipped on a simple pair of shoes and left the weyr as quietly as possible, thinking a walk might solve her troubles.
A half candle mark later she was headed back toward her weyr when a couple of drudges came around a corner and startled the shells out of her. She snapped at them far more harshly than she ought to have, which prompted excessive apologies and laying the blame on her lack of sleep. Flame-faced she had retreated quickly, the sound of whispers and giggles following her up the steps.
Back in the safety of her weyr, she found K'ton awake and glows uncovered, apparently, her absence had been enough to wake him. Oops. The sky was finally getting lighter near the horizon, though it was still too early to truly call it dawn. She found herself in K'ton arms quickly enough, just a hug was enough to make her feel a better, though she still felt off. She had just given him smack for his trying to drag her back into bed when Nadioth's roar filled the weyr, stopping them both in their tracks. There was a responding snarl from Ironth, who'd been backed into the corner by the much larger gold dragon. Teeth bared, angry orange and red eyes whirled wildly as her tail lashed back and forth against the floor.
Nadioth! Enough! Vee's command gave the gold pause, it was not often that her rider used such a tone with her, so when she did she listened. She took a step back from the brown, eyes on the human that was her life mate, pale hide seeming to glitter, even in the pale light of the glows. Ironth had carefully moved to soothe her but was rewarded with mild consideration, then a hiss before she took two steps away and launched herself out of the weyr, soaring away with a deep rooted intent on her mind.
Then it hit her. Slowly, but it was there. A rolling need..a desire that wasn't overwhelming, but it was there and growing at a startling rate. "Oh no....", voice a soft whisper traced with a rapidly growing panic as she suddenly clung to K'ton.Oh yes. Today we fly. , Nadioth answered with a growl as she dropped heavily on a herd beast, ripping its head from the body, causing a wild spray of blood to color the ground in front of her. Fingers curled into K'ton' tunic and she licked her lips as Nadioth started chewing on the herd beast. It took about 10 seconds for her to snap out of the daze. No! Blood only! Nadioth snarled at her in her head but didn't respond.
Vee narrowed her eyes and a battle of willful stubbornness against strong determination took place silently. It was long moments before Vee won out against her strong-willed dragon. Having won she turned to K'ton and out of nowhere pulled him in for a passion fueled kiss before she snapped out of it and shoved him away as she felt the waves of lust roll through her. "Get out..get them out." The, 'Them', she was referring to was Mizeath and Thallayth, but she knew he would understand. He'd been through more gold flights than she had, but she knew that other golds might follow Nadioth into the air and no one wanted that.Let them try she hissed as she took down another herd beast, ripping into it with razor-sharp teeth. Blood only! I heard you the first time , Nadioth snapped back at her.
Once she had gotten rid of K'ton, for the time being, she sent Digger away to be with Selene and stood there trembling in the middle of her weyr. She had always known this day would come, but how had she missed the signs. Another wave of lust and hunger rolled through her as Nadioth flung the carcass away from her then took another, draining it nearly dry, before her rider stepped in. Enough! No more or you won't fly at all!Watch me, little one! , she hissed at her rider, more than ready to fly. She turned from the herd, bound forward a couple times then spread her wings wide, pulling her bulk into the air with ease and issued a bellow of lust filled challenge that echoed through the barely stirring weyr. Vee was nearly knocked to her knees with the weight of the lust that made every fiber of her being tingle with need. She panicked slightly. Mostly because she didn't want anyone near her but K'ton, she didn't want anyone to touch her but him, but as much as she loved him and Ironth, she knew it wasn't her choice that mattered.
Only the best for us, my beloved. , she said in a moment of sympathy for her human's feeling. Best fly fast and far then This amused the gold, who assured her rider she had just that intention, then the moment was gone just that quick and as she rose swiftly over the weyr she called out to her would be suitors. She roared her challenge again, calling every bronze and brown to her, the blues would come, but they mattered not to her. Vee lost herself in her dragon's lust, the link between them so strong she could almost feel the wind on her face as they rose into the pre dawn sky.
