Indivara was not making this easy on him. Veeth might not be chasing but he was a lusty dragon and was still radiating enough desire for Ajaaskath that it would have been easy to let go of common sense and give in. However, years of practice with handling Veeth’s lust and bickering over if the adorable blue should chase everything in the sky had given him some restraint and V’ler only briefly gave into the passionate kiss before stepping away. There was a good chance Indivara would remember this and he didn’t want to have to deal with the awkwardness that would follow. He already knew she’d either ignore her behaviour or yell about it later on if he brought it up before she was ready to ask questions or look for tips. There was no reason to involve where their odd little arrangement of living together now sat because of misplaced flightlust due to a dragon forgetting his rider.
Veeth was already kneeling and ready for Indivara but given the woman was a bit distracted, V’ler gave her a gentle nudge toward the dragon. “Go. Remember, let Venseth lead and find Z’rin if you have to.” Given how stubborn and determined Indivara was, V’ler was actually expecting to see Venseth win. It wasn’t unusual for a first time chaser to win so it wasn’t like he was betting against the odds but if he was a gambler, he’d still bet on Indivara and Venseth winning. Nothing slowed that girl down, at least not for long, and then she continued on with a determination that could be frightening. He supposed that was part of her being a woman on a blue dragon and didn’t envy her having to constantly prove herself.
Once Indivara was finally atop Veeth, the dragon took off before she could find her way back down and pressed against V’ler. As for V’ler, he sighed with relief that he was able to skip another flight and turned back to the bedroom. No point in staying up. Whether she won or lost, it’d be a bit until she returned and V’ler planned on filling that time with glorious pain-free sleep. He wouldn’t tell Indivara but getting her to her flight on time involved a bit of strain on his wrist with manoeuvring her to Veeth. Sleep helped though and that was quick enough to find minutes later when his head hit his pillow with Veeth assuring him just before passing out that Indivara was safe on the ground and Ajaaskath had just taken flight.
