Behind the Scenes - Shinigami - 26.Jan.12

"No! Get your lazy backs into it! If we don't have enough food for the Gather, I'll personally roast your useless carcasses myself!" E'lore narrowed her eyes as she sent weyrfolk running to get more supplies. "Not that it would make much of a difference, considering how utterly useless you all seem to be at this," she muttered to herself, and continued storming along. Well...storming was probably not a particularly accurate description of the Weyrlady's current movements. Waddling with purpose, perhaps. She still had a few months left of her pregnancy, but she was convinced that she looked ready to explode, and it didn't exactly lend her much in the way of intimidation factor.

You don't look that big, Uhoroth informed her. I think you were a lot fatter with your boy-hatchling. Not that he'd remember too much. Then again, Lerinan had been a large baby. He was big even now. And she hadn't gained all that much weight with Melorenis due to a lack of constant food. Still, Uhoroth's encouragement didn't exactly help.

How big I am or am not is irrelevant right now. I'm still pregnant, which means that people are going to try and take work off my shoulders. And you know, that would be nice...if people could sharding well do what they're supposed to! If she were anyone else, she'd be snarling. Instead, her scowl just got a little darker.

"You!" E'lore grabbed the nearest person to her that wasn't doing anything. Well, who wasn't doing anything and who didn't look terribly important. She didn't care if they were just another gather reveler that happened to be here a little early, she'd make them work a little!

Re: Behind the Scenes - Volfetti - 26.Jan.12

[yay the pregnant ladies are RPing!]

Someone, forsake them whoever they had been, had recommended leisurely strolls. With her pregnancy bordering into the third trimester, Volfetti was taking tips and ideas from anyone that thought they could alleviate her pain in the deadly summer heat. For some reason, she had listened to someone telling her to walk at a comfortable pace, but right now she wasn't sure there was a comfortable pace! Sans none at all, that is. Her walking was getting her nowhere interesting thus far, so she made the decision to visit the Gather preparations. No doubt they had cold drinks available for the workers and a seat somewhere.

Having arrived at the edge of the Gather Square, a good fifteen minutes later, Volfetti peered around. There were tables scattered everywhere, food bring roasted in the central firepit and people everywhere. After a decent survey of the area, she finally spotted a table with a collection of mugs and glasses, with a few barrels of drink that were protected from the biting sun with a large shade cloth. Slowly shuffling over to the table she took a tall glass and turned the tap to the barrel that had been labelled "citrus juice", filling it right to the brim. Taking a long sip she closed her eyes and sighed in pleasure as the surprisingly cold liquid cooled her from the inside out, at least temporarily.

Refreshed, she looked around, wondering if there was anywhere she could sit, particularly somewhere shady. Seeing nowhere immediately, Volfetti set off around the edges of the Square. She didn't get far however before E'lore snatched her by the arm, yanking her to the side and spilling her entire drink in the process. Rounding on the Weyrlady she gave her a dark, filthy glare and holding the now empty glass up to her eye level.

"Yes, me! You spilled my drink!" She growled, intensely aggravated. Glancing around she spotted an empty handed weyrbrat walking past. "You, boy! Yes you! C'mere!" she summoned the young boy, who stumbled over warily. Volfetti shoved the glass into his chest, letting go once he had latched onto it. Shooing him away to the drinks with instructions on what to refill it with she turned back to E'lore.

"What?" She asked scornfully. "Why are you even working, shouldn't you be sitting? How can you even stand to stand!" Volfetti continued without waiting for the Weyrlady to speak. Without looking at the weyrbrat when he returned she snatched the glass off him, draining a third in a swift gulp.
