742.07.29 | Brighter than the Sun - Lassalla - 31.Jul.21

The bright summer sun wasn’t the only golden glow recently. Over the past few days, perhaps even a senvenday or so, A distinct air had settled upon the buttery hide of one of Telgar’s golds. An eagerness, too, had crept into the femme dragon’s demeanor lately. Her temper flared more often with clipped, short responses, her emotions flipped more easily.

Lassalla felt those changes within herself, too, and though it had only happened once before, she still knew what it meant for Neryseth. And for her. The bright afternoon sun reflected off of her gold’s brilliant form, and her eyes whirled in the deep reds of hunger. It wouldn’t be long now before the gold took to the skies for another Flight.

Two days previously, she’d made sure that her girls were all to room in crèche or the candidates’ quarters, so she had the weyr to herself. Now, she was glad of that precaution. It gave her a moment to prepare herself as Neryseth stood and stretched on her ledge, eyeing the herdbeast pens. I am ready, Mine. It was a curtesy to her rider, more than anything. The gold was going to take to the skies whether her rider was ready or not. She was far overdue for it.

“Thank you for the heads up.” The goldrider offered a small quirk of a sarcastic smile, nodding to her beast, and the dragon let her intentions be made known with a powerful, challenging roar. Launching from the ledge, she tucked her wings to her back to speed toward the pens, snapping them open and startling the herd. The animals scattered, bellowing their confusion, and the gold found her target in one beast that was too slow to get out of her way. Talons outstretched, she snatched the creature, killing in neatly with a blow to its back. She pulled against her bond with her rider, wanting desperately to eat to her fill, but Lassalla was prepared this time and reined the gold in. With an annoyed and frustrated hiss, Neryseth bled her kill, eyeing the suitors that had started to gather, before pouncing upon yet another terrified herdbeast.

In the weyr above, Lassalla settled herself on the edge of her bed, watching, waiting, feeling the distinction between rider and dragon blur and fuzz until it was no more. She was vaguely aware that others had begun to filter into the weyr, but only as though in a half remembered dream.

In the bowl below, Neryseth let out a delighted scream, leaping from the ground and giving two powerful downstrokes of her wings. Her gleaming hide was momentarily obscured, the bright sunlight blinding to any watching, and she took advantage of the opportunity to veer on a wingtip, catching one suitor by surprise. Let them try to catch her!

Let the chase begin! **winner already decided, but have fun in the chase for those who choose to do so!

RE: 742.07.29 | Brighter than the Sun - K'dar - 01.Aug.21

You have had plenty of time to be sad, and as much as your friend has gold hair, she does not have a gold dragon. K'dar let out a long frustrated sigh that was heavily muffled by the pair of breasts he had his face buried in. What are you going on about? Neryseth is flying and you are not going to stop me this time.

There was a flare of stubborn determination that K'dar couldn't ignore and he cursed as he pushed himself up and rolled out of the bed. "Sorry, Wes, flight," he said with a quick grumble as he quickly pulled on his boots. At least they'd only been cuddling so far, though he was pretty sure he'd just end up right back here once the flight was over. Tiberuth let out a low grumbling growl, his displeasure with his rider's lack of confidence in him clear.

I didn't mean it like that... if you won I would still probably come back to check on Wes and see if she was going to help with babysitting. He was met with stony silence as his dragon found a good perch to watch the gold swoop down at the beast pen to blood her kills. By the time Tiberuth answered her scream with a roar of his own, K'dar was stumbling into Lassalla's weyr along with the others.

The bronze squinted up as the gold disappeared into the sun and then joined in the chase, shoving one dragon out of his way as he tried to get closer to that dazzling prize.

RE: 742.07.29 | Brighter than the Sun - A'tay - 01.Aug.21

A’tay had been invited to Telgar to visit with his niece and nephew and having a meal with his dad and B’jin; one that he insisted he would prepare for them. He tried to arrange to get Lazerat out to Ista Weyr for the day so he could visit with Zelly or Zoremet but the man had disappeared on a ship again. So Zelly was invited along as well, knowing she’d be welcomed by his family; she’d also be good back-up for when Cazan and T’ryn inevitably vanished for a nap or quiet time, leaving him with twin infants.

So far everything was going well. The visit with the babies was fun if a bit exhausting and it served as a reminder that he was not ready to be a parent himself just yet. He was now in his dad’s kitchen with Zelly, whipping together one of the few dishes he felt confident in as he passed on whatever gossip he managed to catch in Ista to help lift B’jin’s mood. The man was a greenrider and a Harper so such juicy stories always seemed to grab his attention and A’tay wanted to make his kind-of-dad smile or even shock him with some of what he’d heard.

And then a wave of lust rolled through him and A’tay gasped and grabbed onto the counter as if the wave was physical and about to knock him down. Neryseth is about to Rise. She’s blooding her kill right now. We should chase. A’tay was fairly sure he had misheard his dragon as after their first—second technically if they counted the aborted Chase of Thallyath—attempt resulted in a loss and A’tay embarrassingly staggering away from the group as fast as he could and hiding in a barricaded closet they decided to wait a bit longer.

It is a bit longer. Several months in fact. That was a good learning experience for us and this one will be as well. I’ve been studying some of our opponents in Ista since then and now we can see more of Telgar’s. A’tay hated the bit of logic that contained. Xyxyth had really taken to observing others the past year to learn more about them. He was still friendly with everyone and flirty with the ladies, but the competitive streak and the drive for them to be the best and for A’tay to be more outgoing had grown. The latter at the very least he felt he had improved on thanks to Xyxyth and Zelly teaming up.

Exactly! What’s more outgoing than entering a Flight that’s not even in your own Weyr? Besides, Malvayth was right and the last one was fun and I want to try it again. A’tay let out a slow breath to try to steady himself as the lust was making it harder to focus. Finally he nodded and turned to Zelly and his dads, “Neryseth Rises and I guess we’re Chasing so, uh… enjoy the meal and I’ll check in later?” He was doing his best to sound nonchalant about it all but A’tay felt horribly awkward telling his dad he was about to possibly have sex with a woman that was only a few years younger than R’nd.

Still, that didn’t stop him from trying to be bold like Zoremet and whisper to Zelly, “maybe see if T’ryn doesn’t need the extra weyr tonight. If we don’t win, I’ll meet you there.” He blushed faintly at the suggestion and gave her a quick kiss before dashing out the door as Xyxyth answered the call and took off to join the pack.

RE: 742.07.29 | Brighter than the Sun - Lassalla - 03.Aug.21

The commotion behind her gave the gold immense satisfaction. She was desired, wanted, and sought by many of the males in Telgar, as well as some guests! Another young bronze, that she was less familiar with, had joined the chase, too! Perhaps he would make a fine mate, if he could catch her!

With another shriek of pleasure, Neryseth whirled, catching sight of Tiberuth shoving one of the others out of his way. Did he think that would mean he’d catch her?! Knocking the competition out of the way?! With a roar of defiance, the gold folded her wings, dropping like a stone right through the pack that followed her, narrowly avoiding the bronze as well as a few startled others. There! Perhaps he’d think twice before trying that again. How dare he try to take suitors away from her!

She whirled, pumping her wings to lift herself up from beneath the pack of her pursuers, screaming in delight at their confusion while they tried to redirect themselves, only several of them able to pull ahead after her little stunt. Good, leave the undeserving ones behind! Only the best would Fly her!

She teased with more rolls and loops, enjoying the warmth of the summer air against her gleaming gold self, giving a mental rumbling scoff to each male that dropped away. Bright sunlight glinted off of buttery gold hide as Neryseth caught an updraft, wheeling around, taunting talons outstretched in a dare for whichever male was bold enough to try and entangle himself with her, if any of them were…
