742.05.12 | Ain’t Misbehavin - B'kit - 14.May.21

“You aren’t even pretending to count,” B’kit huffed as he finished a sit-up, leaning on his knees and rubbing at a stitch that was forming in his side. He had his feet wedged under one of Erebuth’s and the blue was ostensibly supposed to be helping him keep track as he exercised. Sorry… the blue rumbled, letting his rider pull his feet back. Zezeth is coming and I got distracted.

“Some company would be nice…” he rubbed the dragon’s neck, then stood up to clean up a bit. They had been increasingly cooped up as the healers were kept busy and he had heard that the attacks were still going on. They’d delayed the attempt to transfer back to Ista, and the attack on B’jin last month had rattled Kitt and J’shom both. He hadn’t been particularly close with the other green rider, but the thought of a Harper without a voice scared him. He’d been nervous when J’shom left to run a few errands today, and a distraction would be welcome.

He was drying off his face as he heard Zezeth land, and smiled, heading out to greet their friends. “Thought you’d still be in classes—or did they let out early today?” Since they’d graduated and she’d moved back here, he knew she had found her way back into healing classes, determined to continue learning. It made him squeamish, but luckily they didn’t talk too much about the specifics of what she was learning.
