742.05.03 | An Eye for Trouble - Cazan - 03.May.21

In hind sight, it was probably foolish to do anything other than scream when she'd spotted the masked figure looming over Cazelarias with the knife. Too late now. Far too late. Cazan found herself already having enough problems as her body fought against the sudden movement, but every other time before this had been something she couldn't fight back against. Stupid muffin. Stupid flower. This, as terrifying as it was, at least had her adrenaline pumping in a singular direction, focused on moving despite the discomfort and pain, had her eyes locked on the face hidden by the mask even as the knife was knocked from her hand. She had other hands.

Another sharp pain shot through her right fist as it connected upward into a jaw, not broken, but fueled by enough desperation that the skin on her knuckles split open with the force of the impact. Cazan didn't have time to gloat at the look in that asshole's eyes though, there was a flash of metal coming for her and she tried to dodge back, tried to block it with her hands, but suddenly there was a shooting pain and she screamed.

CAZAN! There was a booming roar, a flood of rage from multiple sources, flapping wings, a flash of deep charcoal and bronze and Sir's enraged hisses, and suddenly she was shoved and sent stumbling into a wall and then the floor as another surge of pain shot through her. She barely registered a smaller thud before Sir shook himself and crawled over to snuggle against her, still puffed up and full of angry hisses as bootsteps ran further away.

Everything hurt, there was a wave of pain shooting from her back to the front of her lower abdomen, it was so hard to see. Cazan tried rubbing at her face, desperately trying to clear the obstruction out of her vision so she could see clearly. There was something in her left eye, it was so hard to see clearly because of it, everything stank of blood and was Caze even okay?

You're screaming! Healers are coming, just wait! Stop touching it! Had she been screaming? She didn't remember, maybe the dragon was thinking about someone else. Mal was trying to squeeze into the weyr proper, her gold head snaking in from the entrance to the ledge as she clawed at stone and tried to get closer to her rider. Cazan! Stop! But she had to check on her brother and she couldn't see him well enough. There was too much blood and if she wiped it away then maybe-Cazan screamed again as her fingers bumped something that was protruding from her face, bloodied hands slipping on the floor as her hands balled into fists and she struggled to even try to push herself up. Another wave of pain shot through abdomen again and she fell back to the floor, arms wrapping around her belly as she let out a choking sob.

An enraged hiss from Sir announced the arrival of the healers, and despite being bruised and battered himself, the bronze firelizard was doing his best to keep everyone away. Cazan manage to choke out a command, "Sir, go find T'ryn, make sure he's okay." Once he'd reluctantly flown off, she tried to reach up for her face again only to find a hand firmly stopping her wrist. "There's something in my eye, I can't... I have to wipe it, let-" another wave of pain through her abdomen had her trying to curl again, cursing as her hands clenched in agony and the healers carried her away.
