742.03.12 | Chatterboxes - L'gan - 13.Mar.21

While L’gan checked in with Cazan to satisfy Sariel and Helyna that she was alright, Semath found herself drawn into a game of flying tricks with Malvayth. Now that the gold was no longer egg-heavy or clutching, she seemed to have a case of what L’gan referred to as ‘the zoomies,’ with the boundless energy of a young cat. But the green enjoyed playing with Mal, and showed off a few neat wingtip turns the gold tried to replicate.

Setting down for a rest, Semath noticed a young woman nearby who had been watching them fly. The green didn’t know too many of the people here at Telgar who weren’t friends or familiar faces from hatchings. She seemed curious, and like she was biting back questions.

Hello, the green greeted her, feeling chipper and friendly. It is a lovely day, don’t you think? Semath noticed Malvayth settle nearby and snuggled happily up with her friend.

RE: 742.12.03 | Chatterboxes - Rakka - 14.Mar.21

Rakka had been at the weyr for only a short time now, but she had come to believe it was the only place she could ever be. It was entirely different from the stifling, suffocating environment that she had grown up in. While she was sure her father wasn't entirely pleased with the fact she'd been searched. How could he possibly say no to Dragonriders. It had all been wrapped up very neatly, and now here she was.

It was a dream come true for her, ever since she was a child she'd been obsessed with dragonlore, and while, at the time she thought the majestic beasts extinct, their return to Pern was a bright light. A beacon of a better time. She stood off to one side, arms wrapped around her body in a comforting hug. Life here was certainly different, barely anyone knew who she was, though could that really be a bad thing?

It seemed to her, the perfect chance to reinvent herself away from the pokey old hold. Brown eyes watched the dragon in the sky with delight as the agile green did neat wingtip turn, and then settled next to the much larger gold. They were such intelligent, beautiful creatures. Rakka thought. She wondered absently if she could get one to talk to her again, like that one green had when she'd been searched. Rakka still wondered if she'd somehow imagined it all. Umm... hi? She thought, hoping that maybe... maybe something would happen.

Oh you're being silly Rakka. No one would want to talk to you, especially a dragon. She chided herself, sinking against the wall at her back. She felt like a little fish in a big pond right now. So out of place. But she didn't want to go back, not to the uncertainty that hold-life held.

RE: 742.03.12 | Chatterboxes - Cazan - 14.Mar.21

Malvayth could fly all day, and had proven that on her fun adventure here, but she still settled down for a rest and snuggle with Semath when her tiny green friend landed. She curled easily around the green, tail lazily swishing, Lady coming to rest regally on her head in all of her own miniature gold glory. Her bronze firelizard, Sir, was fussing at L'gan for daring to be near Cazan for more than a polite minute.

Mal softly chattered at her friend, mixing apologies for Sir being so grumpy and also talking about the fun flying games they'd just done, I hope yours doesn't mind Sir, he really is good he is just grumpy, but did you see the spins? I'm trying to get them tighter and maybe one day I can figure out how to turn as sharp as you, though maybe not, but I might be able to get close and can you do a roll cause I can and I can help you figure it out if you want once you've have a rest-

She continued to softly and excitedly babble until Semath noticed their little watcher and tried speaking to her. Malvayth turned her great golden head to peer curiously at Rakka, tail giving a small flick in excitement. Why was she just staring? Why was her forehead wrinkled in such a concerned and concentrated manner? Why did she look like she was trying to think so hard almost like Cazan did when she was staring at some leather when a plan wasn't working the way she thought it should?

Oh! Try using words! Mal cheerily thought to the young woman as she gave a vocal chirp. But maybe the young woman had already tried speaking aloud but they couldn't hear because of how far she was? Maybe louder! Or come closer so you don't have to shout. There. Hopefully that would do it.

RE: 742.03.12 | Chatterboxes - Rakka - 16.Mar.21

Her brows were furrowed in concentration when, clear as a bell in her mind she heard the voice of a dragon, or what she assumed had to be the dragon. Her brown eyes widened, and she swallowed nervously. She was so beautiful, and large, though... which one had spoken... thought?

She hesitantly stepped forward, fingers wrapped tightly around her arms. She wasn't nervous... exactly, though anyone in their right mind should be at least a little apprehensive of these great beasts... if only because one could accidentally squish you no problem.

"Umm... hi!" She spoke up, feeling incredibly awkward at the moment, but at the same time, exhilarated at the idea of communicating with a dragon. Her brown eyes were wide with excitement, interest, and the decision that she was going to have a conversation with these beautiful creatures if she could at all... though she hoped it didn't upset their riders too much.

"I'm Rakka... I-erm... I'm kinda new-ish here..." She admitted, still awkwardly, brown eyes shining with years of admiration for dragonkind. "I-you're both so beautiful! Umm noble, umm... regal." She stumbled over her words, trying to correct herself, not wanting to offend a creature who could probably blow on her and send her flying away.

RE: 742.03.12 | Chatterboxes - Cazan - 17.Mar.21

Malvayth puffed up proudly, her head lifting as she let out a soft pleased croon. New people were fun and this one was so nice! Lady stretched from atop her perch and flew down to give a quick circle around Rakka for a closer inspection before deciding to perch back up on Malvayth's head. With that settled, the gold dragon leaned her head in a bit closer, eyes swirling with curiosity for her own inspection. Hello! I'm Malvayth! She pulled back to give Semath a gentle nudge with her nose before carefully opening her mouth to place it over the top of green's muzzle before licking it. This is Semath! She's a good flyer too.

Mal, I don't know what you're doing, just please behave. Cazan was sounding grumpy and Sir was being even grumpier, so Malvayth pulled her mouth away from Semath without bothering to insist that she was behaving. She hoped her rider clutched soon, it was taking so long! She turned her attention back to Rakka, head tilting one way and then the other as she sized her up. In a rather matter of fact tone she declared, You look like you can fit through doors.

This was good news, because her new home was probably not as prepared for her plans, and there was no cowardly cook that hated her. But would Semath cooperate... she was no clever and handsome blue after all, and she'd heard about "narcs" from conversations she'd had with others after practicing her stories. Malvayth decided against asking for now, instead distracting herself with another question, Where are you from? How long have you been here? I'm new too! There are so many cute boys here to play games with!
