741.05.24 | Disturbed Harmony - T'drin - 29.May.20

I don't know why you fuss so much about going to a gather, the bronze told his rider as the man stood off to the side. His full lips were curved in a smirk as he watched the rest of the crowd. T'drin was never one to fling himself into the wildness that was a gather, the last time he'd been somewhere with so many people had been the party Casa had held and that had been a turn and more ago. If the truth was told, T'drin had hoped to find his parents here and he'd been disappointed. He hadn't gone home when they came north, though Gelabrith had urged him too, and would have been pleased if the aging holders had managed to show up.

Maybe he should go home.

You should and I tell you that every time you think of it.

He snorted as he shifted to find something to drink instead, the sudden idea of Casa slipping that crazy drink into the mix amusing enough that he chuckled quietly as he walked towards the tables that held food and drink. As much as he was one who didn't jump headfirst into a mess, T'drin didn't force people to wait on him either. He'd been in Katila far to long to expect people to do so, even if they would gladly now. Especially given the rider knots at his shoulder. Everyone knew a bronzerider and the worst kowtowed like sycophants to a lord. He hated it and love it. It was a terrible conundrum.

He sighed as he reached for the pitcher of beer on the table and a glass near it. Beer was better than wine in his estimation and harder to drug. Drink poured and pitcher stolen, T'drin hovered around the table before finding something to lean against. He didn't want to sit, it made it harder to watch and perferred the outskirts of the crowd to the center. Blue scanned ini an effort to find a familiar face and was failing terribly as he sucked his glass dry before pouring more.

RE: 741.05.24 | Disturbed Harmony - V'lia - 05.Jun.20

Unlike the last Gather she had been to when she was still a weyrling, Vessaelia was in much better spirits this time around. She had graduated, sorted things out with A'dis so they knew where each other stood, and she didn't hate Tiath's bright green hide nearly as much as she used to. She had spent most of the day at A'dis' side, shopping, eating, and dancing--all of which made her ridiculously happy. But she had also encouraged him to sometimes go and mingle with the holders and even some of the bronze- and goldriders to help get his name out there and build a reputation. It didn't matter that Benden currently wasn't there home Weyr because one day it could be and A'dis could even be the Weyrleader one day.

She was currently on her own as she had insisted it was fine for A'dis to go have a couple of drinks or dance with whomever caught his eye. Of course she had also promised with a cheeky grin that she would try to stay out of trouble. So far she was doing a good job of that and when she saw T'drin, Vessaelia found someone to help her keep that promise. She wouldn't call him a close friend but they had talked from time to time the last couple of years. He was one of the ones that relocated to Benden and Vessaelia hadn't had a chance to find him and see how he was settling in--until then.

She zigged, zagged, and even twirled her way through the crowd until she came upon the grumpy-looking bronzerider. What was it with bronzeriders being grumps? It's the weight of responsibility on their shoulders and a lack of a good greenrider at their side. Tiath replied simply and with a sentiment Vessaelia had heard often enough from the green. Tiath could carry herself like a gold but she never saw the appeal in having a shiny hide and the amount of responsibility and lack of fun that came with it. But Vessaelia did agree that A'dis was a lot happier with her around and didn't seem quite as mopey as the day they met.

"T'drin!" She called out with a wave and smile when she was close enough to grab his attention. "Or should I be boring and proper right now with holders around and use your rank?" She continued to smile though she hoped he still didn't mind the show of friendliness between them. But they were out in public and both wearing their knots so it was hard to say.
